PostSubject: Kevvx X Eldar - Some Things Never Change   Kevvx X Eldar - Some Things Never Change Icon_minitimeMon Jan 16, 2017 10:48 am

What on earth was that stupid dragon doing? Siofra shook her head as she watched the creature tumble from side to side as it made its way down the field, leaving very obvious tracks of its passage. The wheat stalks were breaking wherever it set foot or where it found it useful to flap its wings in an attempt to keep its balance. Why it was behaving so however, she could not quite understand. She wanted to though before she took any further steps.

Siofra followed a good distance behind on horseback to make the tracking easier in case it decided to take flight. Though that seemed unlikely. The dragon barely managed to stay on its feet as it were.

A couple of hours ago, she had been asked, in the absence of an available Elite dragon, to take care of this little problem. The head of the village wasn’t exactly willing to have the dragon put down but if there was nothing else to be done, it would have to be that way. Apparently the beast had wreaked havoc simply by walking around for a bit, belching fire with every hiccup and wobbling around on unsteady feet.

To Siofra it sounded almost as though the dragon were drunk, but that couldn’t be right, could it? Dragons didn’t drink human beverages, so didn’t partake of any kind of alcohol, so how could it possibly be drunk? Or were there plants out there that had this kind of effect on a dragon? How much would the dragon have eaten though in order to be this badly off?

Shaking her head, she continued to follow the beast, observing and trying to think of a way to trap it. There had to be a way to contain the animal without hurting it until the effects of whatever it had eaten or drunk wore off.

And just like that, the beast suddenly toppled over, smack dab in the middle of the field. Siofra reined in her horse, whose ears were flicking back and forth, and just stared for a moment. What had just happened? When suddenly a loud snore reached her ears, she had to grin. Well at least, the dragon was now sleeping and wouldn’t do any further damage. Maybe once it woke up things would be back to normal again.

“Guess we’re settling in for a bit of a wait,” she told her horse as she dismounted and led it closer to the dragon but keeping towards the edge of the field where it was conveniently bordered by some trees.

Well really, her night was only set to get stranger. Perhaps not in a bad way though.

Rather the area luckily was open enough for the power to place itself in the right place. The open field stirred, the winds picking up slightly as chaotic energy gathered in one line. Luckily he wasn’t being too hasty with it, there was no need to really rush himself at this point. Soon enough the line of black that formed split open there in the field, seemingly pulled open by odd clawed hands. Though nothing seemed to come forth beyond that for a few seconds, at least not until a single person stepped through the opening.

It was a familiar gate to some actually. At least, it might feel familiar. It an infernal energy, and one with the movements and energies used by the same man to put himself from one place to the other in a more timely manner. Though this method of concentrating it was more refined then rushing to teleport somewhere. Yet the teleporting method had a feeling that was fairly memorable to any who had taken a trip through it with him.

The male rolled his shoulders a bit and he gazed around pretty quickly, facing away from the two others in the field for the moment. “Been a real long time since I came to this place…” He muttered. It had been years in fact if he recalled correctly. Not this area really, no, more like the world beneath him. Unfortunately a duty had taken him far from the place he had wanted to call home. Very far… too far. He had had to leave at such a terrible time too. He had had friends and allies and all there, he had been set to do some quite fun things. Though like most things in his existance thus far, he had been forced to leave it, forced to take his sword and methods elsewhere to deal with a worse problem that had been a problem that was quite personal to him from beginning to end. It felt like the struggle had went on forever for him too. Much too long, and he felt it had costed him much more then it was personally worth. Yet if he had not seen it through who knows what might have happened. He couldn’t let that beast exist, thus he didn’t.

Nonetheless, he had left much behind when he had left this familiar world for that time. How could he hope to rebuild what he had had? Was it even worth the effort to try to find such things again? Well not things, people, alliances… friends. Or more then that even. At least one had been pretty special for him. Though he hadn’t had nearly enough time with that one at all. He could’ve allied with her forever easily and cared not for the passing time. However such things at this point likely mattered none, not with how long he had been gone. For all he knew, she was dead.

Xavien tore his mind away from such matters to observe the current situation in the place he had decided to walk out into. He was lucky it seemed, for it didn’t appear there were very many people in this area. Actually he was fairly sure there were only two but being fresh from the portal, he couldn’t sense too well where people were. Either that or this world was altered from his last time here and he wasn’t quite attuned to sensing anyone yet. He turned rather, his vision a bit blurred from the change of air and such but not too bad. He saw a dragon for one, which he felt extremely lucky that it seemed out like a light. Then someone on horseback as well. Which either was good or very bad for him. Really, he didn’t feel like having to sever a head this quickly upon his return, it would be rather disappointing if he had to. Yet he supposed it could be worse. Thus he drew no weapon. He didn’t desire hostility of whoever it was. Wishing his eyes would adjust, but he didn’t need to hurry things he supposed. Fairly sure whoever that was, would make themselves known to him quick enough. After all, seeing someone just walk out of such an entrance from nowhere, then the same gate seeming to just fade out, was going to leave some questions for even someone he didn’t know. He didn’t know yet how good his luck was this day at all…

Siofra stopped in her tracks, still a little away from the treeline when she suddenly felt an odd sensation of magic ripping through the air. Her eyes flew to the dragon but the beast lay in its heap in the middle of the field, unmoving except for the rhythmic movements of its breathing. The magic also didn’t feel as though it were coming from that area.

The half-elf immediately swung herself back onto the back of her horse, her eyes constantly scanning the horizon for any sign of danger, but there was no one around. The dragon, her horse and she were the only beings in the area. So why the sudden shift in the air?

And that was when her eyes finally saw it. A thing sliver of something as though the fabric of the island was being ripped apart. The sliver grew larger until all of a sudden a human stepped through, or at least a being shaped in the form of a man. Her breath was abruptly cut off and her heart skipped a beat. She had only ever known one person to be able to do that kind of thing. Surely, it couldn’t be…

Siofra shook her head at that ridiculous thought. Of course it wasn’t him. He had been gone for years. Had up and left without a word, without a hint of where he was going or when he was coming back. No. That person was long in the past and had most certainly forgotten all about her and whatever might have possibly been growing between them.

And yet…

Whoever the being was, he wasn’t facing her way yet, so Siofra nudged her horse a little closer to get a better look. The frame was extraordinarily familiar and she felt her chest tighten, despite her valiant efforts of pushing any sparks of hope far back into the corners of her mind. She would not allow herself to hope again. It was futile. Ridiculously so. He was never coming back.

Cautiously she began reaching for her bow. It was better to be prepared rather than be caught unawares. She wasn’t necessarily in a hostile mood, but there was a drunk dragon lying not far away and there was no telling how it would react if something bad were to happen. No, it was better to make sure the stranger did not even consider doing something nasty.

That was when he turned. Siofra’s hand stilled where it was, still too far away from her bow for her liking, but she didn’t move a muscle. There was something so very familiar about the stranger, about the movements, yet she couldn’t see his face to be absolutely certain whether he was friend or foe. His hands were free of weapons though.

Moving a little closer still, staying on horseback for a quick get-away if necessary, Siofra eyed the stranger until she was close enough to see the face. Shock rippled through her. It couldn’t be! A sea of emotions was crashing over her and she didn’t know how to react to this sudden presence. After all this time…

After all this time!! Without thinking about her actions, Siofra swung one leg over and slid from the horse, her bow in her hand with an arrow nocked and pointed at his heart without conscious thought.
“Give me one good reason…,” she snarled, all the fear, anger, lost hope and disappointment of the past years ringing in her voice.

Kevvx X Eldar - Some Things Never Change Empty
PostSubject: Re: Kevvx X Eldar - Some Things Never Change   Kevvx X Eldar - Some Things Never Change Icon_minitimeTue Feb 07, 2017 10:21 am

As Xavien approached, he went over a few things in his mind, as he did see the one ahead was armed, likely with a ranged weapon, a bow. Which for him wasn’t too bad of something to deal with. The right shots hurt for sure, but it took a lot of ammo to kill him, that a very certain thing. However it also depended on the quality of the weapon and the shooter too. They were on a horse as well and a steed could prove a problem too if spooked. However he doubted that coming into play unless this one turned out to be hostile.

His gaze however narrowed as he got close enough to be able to recognize her features and face. “Gotta be kidding me…” He muttered to himself. How the hell was he that lucky!? No he couldn’t be really, all he had known for so long was quite the crappy luck streak to be completely honest. Though this was a lot sooner then he wanted to do such an encounter either, how was he supposed to explain himself? His exit had been rather quick and without much warning, after gaining the alliance he had with that one human. Yet things had went down so quick he really had no time to give much warning of what he had had to do or anything. He really had been screwed in that regard, let alone he had been in a place most definently not for her. Such would’ve ended badly if he had taken her with him, Though he had so badly wanted to.

Yet if he had she would have been used as a weakness for him he was certain. No, it was better that Oni hadn’t known of her existance, hadn’t known someone actually meant much of anything to him at all. Plus he had warned her before, of how things could go for him. He had done the right thing and he knew it but yet, he knew in her eyes it was going to be a very different thing more then likely. Thus, he would grit his teeth and deal with this in the best ways he could. He had nothing to really hide after all.

However he wasn’t disappointed in assuming her anger either, yet the way she expressed it… he couldn’t help but crack a smile at. An arrow at where a humans’ heart normally was? Well she was a good shot he knew, but shooting him there would do little more than hurt some and make him slightly cranky. It was better than a headshot though. He raised his arms a bit once before her and shrugged rather, for what else was he supposed to do? “Really? Pointing weapons at me after I’ve been swinging weapons for what feels like eons? We both know that shot will just make for an even crankier day.” He said to her simply. For her bow couldn’t really fool him in that regard. She was mad yes but he was quite certain she would never fire at him, let alone with intent to kill. Rather likely looking a bit wiser to her too, perhaps having gained more years then he had actually been gone for. Yet where he was, time didn’t move like it did in this world. “You’re a real sight for sore eyes though... first person not actually wanting to kill me in a very long time.” He said simply. Which was mostly true. The place he had been, allies were extremely few. He had had one but, only at rare times. Other then that he had been on his own in his struggles.

To say he was actually happy to see her was a real understatement. Though his face didn’t show it much. Yet his gaze was about as soft as he would be able to get it at that point. She had been the one thing he had so regretted leaving behind when he had left. It had… actually hurt in sorts of ways he had never really cared to feel before that. The comforts and experiences she had brought him were irreplaceable for him really. The things they had shared, for a creature like himself, there really was no going back from. If he was going to actually explain and talk of what had went on during his perilous time away, well she would likely be the only one to ever hear that full explanation from him. He wouldn’t regret it a single bit either.

PostSubject: Re: Kevvx X Eldar - Some Things Never Change   Kevvx X Eldar - Some Things Never Change Icon_minitimeTue Feb 07, 2017 11:04 am

Oh for crying out loud, it really was him! Why was this happening to her now? Now, when she had finally, sort of, moved on, had come to terms with the fact that she would never see him again.

Siofra’s eyes narrowed as he moved closer, only stopping a few steps away from her, his arms slightly raised to show he intended no harm and had no weapons – in his hands anyway. The man was a weapon. Her body was so tense and rigid that her arrow would miss any target she set for it but that didn’t make her lower the weapon. It would be pointless, she knew that much, but she was making a point, or trying to, and she would not back down.

When his face cracked into a smile, Siofra’s hands tightened even more on the bow. How dare he smile at her, at her pain, her anger?!

“Really? Pointing weapons at me after I’ve been swinging weapons for what feels like eons? We both know that shot will just make for an even crankier day.”

The ever-growing spark of anger inside her turned into a full-blown, roaring fire and her gaze hardened further. Did he think he was funny?! Of course, he had been right, a shot would only make him cranky and not actually hurt him even if the arrow hit true, but that didn’t mean, she wouldn’t enjoy letting it fly.

“You’re a real sight for sore eyes though... first person not actually wanting to kill me in a very long time.”

“I wouldn’t be so sure about that,” she muttered, forcing the tension from her arms. Had she not suffered as well? Did he really think he was the only one who had had a crappy time during their time apart? Was he really that arrogant to think that his suffering was the only that mattered?!

Siofra wanted to yell at him, to rage; she wanted to pound him with her fists, hit him where it hurt the most, but she couldn’t. No words wanted to cross her lips, the pain desperately searching for an outlet, and…

And just like that the arrow was let loose.

PostSubject: Re: Kevvx X Eldar - Some Things Never Change   Kevvx X Eldar - Some Things Never Change Icon_minitimeFri Feb 17, 2017 9:40 am

Xavien simply could not believe his luck really. This world, while rather sharp-edged to most, tended to actually give him some goodness it seemed. He had enjoyed the time he had been here before, and he returns and the first person he sees is the one he had liked seeing the most before! He knew the double edge to this rather, he knew how long he had been gone. However for him this didn’t matter. This was far better then the literal hell he had been traversing in his absence. Really, he couldn’t help but to smile, and feel some happiness over this. Though he knew no demon or monster he had faced could ever compare to the emotions of a female.

He didn’t think it too much funny, it was a true statement. He couldn’t drop from a shot to where normally a human or most creatures’ more life-supporting organs were, as he was supported in different places and with a much different aura then a human would be. Though he could of course die from taking damage, he simply had to take enough abuse to fall. His brow raised a bit at her simple words. He couldn’t say he didn’t expect them. In fact it would have been a little shocking if she had reacted otherwise. He expected worse really.

She could see him quite fully at that point, his garb a bit tattered up. The edges of it frayed and there clearly slices and tears in the long coat normally upon him. Let alone its coloring had blackened and looked almost charred. She couldn’t see the weapon on his back but it was in a similar shape too, though it was rust-colored, likely from the blood of those hit with it, or even his own. Xavien had dealt with much in his time away from things there. However most of that didn’t even matter as he heard a bowstring snap…

Rather a dull thunk resounded as the arrow hit exactly where she had had it held. Immediately adding another tear to his garb, and a hole to his chest. He frowned and looked down at it, scratching his head a bit. “Huh….” Seeming to process it for a moment. “…. Ow. Well… can’t say I expected that…” He said simply. “Normally id be forced to kill but… no. Your hell in this was different then my own, yet it likely hurt just as much.” He said. “Thus maybe I deserved that….” He reached up rather, grabbing the arrow hilt and pulling. The arrowhead drawing back through his back and out as he removed the projectile from himself, with a bit of a grunt. For it really didn’t feel too nice, but it wasn’t an unfamiliar pain to him either, especially recently.

Xavien considered the arrow for a moment then tossed it down away from him. “Still though, sheesh. Coulda shot anywhere else…” He said, shaking his head. “Many shots as ive been struck with, gets a bit old after awhile.” He said. Rather no blood seemed to seep through the shirt, as it was already very red. Xavien seemed to almost waver on his feet. Perhaps having taken much more abuse then he was making it look like through his eyes and movements before. “Id explain it but im pretty sure you don’t wanna hear such stuff right now…” He told her. Knowing his story would do no good to fall on frustrated ears. Let alone he was feeling a bit lightheaded at that point too. Which would make telling of such things that much harder. “I know you probably don’t wanna hear it but youre the best person ive seen since… damn… since even before I left.” He said, scratching his neck a bit, his eyes upon her, even as his legs shifted a bit, having a bit more trouble holding him up then he was used to by then.

Kevvx X Eldar - Some Things Never Change Empty
PostSubject: Re: Kevvx X Eldar - Some Things Never Change   Kevvx X Eldar - Some Things Never Change Icon_minitimeMon Feb 27, 2017 8:49 am

Well, alright, maybe Siofra hadn’t really wanted to shoot that arrow, but what was done was done, and she also didn’t want to take back the action. He deserved a little nuisance at least for the pain he had caused her.

“Of course it hurt! You just left without a word! And you didn’t come back!!” She had always known that he might have to leave from time to time and that there wouldn’t always be time to let her know about it. She had been alright with that, after all they both had their jobs and their duties but he had always come back. Not always very soon, but it had never taken years. “You deserved the arrow to the heart,” she simply stated when he removed it and told her she could have shot him elsewhere.

Seeing Xavien waver on his feet, obviously exhausted, Siofra almost broke. Almost. Instead, she gave an irritated sigh and fetched the horse. The beast had only wandered a couple of paces to graze a little, completely unfazed by their encounter. It took her a few tries to get her quiver off her back and properly fastened to the saddle, before swiftly stashing the bow in the quiver.

All the while she listened to him talk, not sure whether she wanted to turn back around to face him or mount and ride away. Either option seemed to be the wrong choice. Her hands tightened where they rested on the saddle at his words. She wanted to believe them. Hell, she did believe them, but he was very right in assuming that she didn’t want to hear them. She didn’t want him waltzing back into her lives after so many years alone and telling her that he still held her in high regards.

Hearing the shift in his stance, Siofra bowed her head, fighting an inner battle before finally roughly removing a small satchel attached to the saddle and turning towards him. After a quick assessing look, she growled: “For crying out loud, just go sit down by a tree before you fall down. I’ll check your wounds.”

Siofra dreaded getting close to him, touching him, but she also couldn’t just leave him like that. She wanted him to suffer, yes, but she also wanted to be the one to inflict the pain rather than having him die of exhaustion and various wounds that were not of her doing before she could get the chance.
