(this is NOT plajarism) The Last Dragon..... dun dun dun (Eldar + Star onexone)

She didn't want to fight, but the powers were forcing her to react to this, so she took off from the ground and followed the tiger dragon into the air. She still wanted to act out a little bit of revenge on the boy for having chased her so far and for showing no mercy when she was on the ground. After some initial trouble, her wings finally worked the way she wanted them and she started swaying from left to right, trying to find a decent position from where to attack the other dragon. Lightning kept raining down from the clouds, quicker and closer together than before, until finally the green flames started to fly with the lightning. Even before Abraxas could land a hit at the tiger dragon, the flames were licking at her wings and mane, making her howl with pain.

Selene was observing the scene, hoping that nothing worse would happen. She was rubbing her head where it had smacked on the floor, feeling a small bump evolving but there seemed to be no blood. The horse dragon didn't look good, she was obviously in pain and couldn't control herself. When the flames moved from the cloud onto the dragon, she drew her breath in sharply. This didn't look too good. She had no doubt that Zorina could defeat the other dragon should they have a serious fight, but it seemed more likely that the purple dragon would soon lose control completely and what would happen then?

Zorina swooped to the right, trying to lead the poor dragon as far away from the others as possible. But she didn't think she could stand to be too near the dragon much longer.She could sense the sickening magic, and the pain that it was causing, her, making Zorina flinch violently at the cry of anguish. Trying to pull herself together, she kept flying. But she couldn't stand it. She had to get away from this thing. The problem was, if she got too far in front of her, Abraxas would just turn back for the others.
She'd have to go back. Go back and get the others. Even that boy....she despised hunters, slayers in particular, but she didn't want him to die. He might know somehthing, since he'd apparently been chasing this creature.
Taking a deep breath, she made a sharp turn in the air, zooming past Abraxas before she even had time to respond, and flew back towards the cliff.

Abraxas followed the tiger dragon's every move, ever so slightly losing control more visibly over her movements. What usually seemed like a dragon gliding through the air like a fish swimming through water, just as elegantly and effortlessly, now looked more like a fish trying to get off dry land. The pain was excruciating but still she kept flying as it made her want to destroy something or someone else to compensate for what she was experiencing just now. The cloud above her was slowly growing bigger, the flames were licking further at her wings and mane, as if they were trying to completely envelop the horse dragon in a kind of poisonous cocoon.

Selene was watching with big eyes, this really didn't look good. The horse dragon looked very dangerous just now and she feared that Zorina might get affected by the green flames, which, she was sure, were only healthy to the one breathing them - and only up to a certain extent it seemed. It appeared as though they were about to consume the purple dragon completely. When Zorina suddenly swooped back towards the humans, Selene sucked in the air again, wondering what the horse dragon might do. She didn't want to get too close to it, seeing the state it was in. It would be too dangerous. The aura that was emanating from the cloud could be perceived even from their distance now.

Abraxas noticed the other dragon's change of direction, but it took her a little while to react and to fly after it. Her reactions like her brain started to fade; she was not realising what she was doing anymore. She was still reacting, though she didn't not do it on her own, her powers did it for her and she seemed to look at the whole scene of what she was doing herself from the outside, as if she was not part of her own body anymore.

Zorina glided to the ground hurriedly, landing on the ground ungracefully. Without taking the time to stable herself, she commanded, "Everyone get on!"
Aura, being the closest to Zorina, obeyed her and climbed onto Zorina.
Alec, on the other hand, hesitated, looking back at the other dragon that was flying toward them. She probably wasn't even talking to him.
"Now!" she roared, looking over at him.
Alec turned to glare at her, his emotions suddenly snapping. "No! I'd rather die fighting than accept a dragon's help!" He spat.

(( Could you get Abraxas to knock him out before she poofs? ))

Abraxas could feel the fury and the evil magic around and inside her burning up, pulsating through the air as if contaminating everything and everyone around her. She was not easily scared but this was more than even she could take. The fear had come with her powers being slightly off, but this.. It was amounting to sheer terror she was feeling, and it was stamped all across her face, but there was nothing she could do. Combined with the pain and confusion, her face was torn into a hideous face that would make even the most courageous warrior pick up his legs and run for his life.

Selene saw the horse dragons face and she jumped up in shock. It was awful to even look at it, thus she gladly accepted Zorina's offer and quickly followed Aura's example to jump onto the tiger dragon's back. She shot a look at Alec - what was he waiting for? After Zorina urged him again to accept her help, and he started shouting, Selene yelled: "Don't be an idiot, she's going to kill you!" She even held out a hand to him, despite their previous misunderstanding, but she was not intending on leaving him without at least trying to reason.

Abraxas, swaying ever more wildly from one side to another, came closer and closer to the group, the green flames meanwhile enveloping her like a cocoon. Barely anything was left to be seen of her original purple colour. Not able to hold herself anymore, she crashed onto the ground, sliding forward and knocking Alec of his feet. Some of the flames started licking at his clothes but before they could catch real fire and make any damage, the dragon suddenly disappeared into thin air. No fantastical poof, no pink glittery cloud, nothing. She simply disappear as if nothing had ever been there, as if Alec had fallen down on his own.

Selene was staring at the spot where the horse dragon at just been, open-mouthed, unable to believe what she had just witnessed. Her hand was still extended, but she was too dumbstruck to move or say something.

Aura was set on leaving, but after a moment of no answer from the boy, she looked around. She saw him with his sword held defensively. But his face looked shocked. Glancing at the dragon, she flinched and turned back around, not wanting to see the horrible expression carved onto Abraxas's face. She noticed Selene give a similar expression, and though she felt the same way, she couldn't help but feel sympathetic upon acually witnessing it.
She wasn't sure what she felt for the dragon....
Alec held fast as his prey tumbled to the ground, but his reflexes were dulled by the not-completely-cured shock. He didn't even notice the girl offering him a hand.
And then she crashed into him- hard. Next thing he knew, he was hurtling toward the ground from what seemed much higher up than it could possibly be with his feet touching the ground. His head resounded against the cold earth, and then as everything went black, he was still.
Zorina, who had been ready to take off the whole time, waiting for the boy, now loosened her tense muscles, and watched the place where the dragon had dissapeared silently. Her expression was cold... and sad.

"Wha... What.. What did just happen?" Selene stammered, still shocked by the preceding events.
And then suddenly, she snapped out of her frozen state when she saw that Alec was lying on the floor, not moving, barely looking like he was breathing. Immediately, she jumped off Zorina's back and ran over to Alec, kneeling down to have a closer look at the boy. Before she moved too close though she hesitated, not sure whether the flames had infected him or something or whether - should he wake up in the coming seconds - rip off her head. He still had the sword in his hand with obviously a loosened grip when he lost consciousness, but she figured that his first reaction would be to fight off the dragon.
Leaning back, she looked at Zorina, noticing the sad look on the dragon's face. "What happened to her?" she repeated the question she had floated into the open just a bit earlier.

Zorina sighed and looked away. "Something I hope very few have to witness." she answered quietly. The experience had quite obviously damaged her, though she tried her best not to show it.
Aura, now watching Selene and the boy warily, still not trusting the boy, heard Selene's question, and Zorina's answer. Figuring out what was going on by herself, her previously taut face softened. "She dissapeared..." she whispered sympathetically, answering Selene for Zorina. Her eyes adopted the sad, far off look of the dragons as realization hit her.
She turned back to Zorina. "Is she dead?"
"I do not know." She answered. "If so, that would be the most extrodinary death I've ever seen.... but I doubt it...."
Alec moaned quietly, stirring a bit. Then he became still yet again.

~(Yeah yeah... ^^ Well don't get too used to it lol)~

Selene did not like the sound of this. Zorina knew more than she was telling them, that was for sure, but she respected the dragon's feelings and thus did not ask further questions, although she really wanted to know what has been happening. It was awful enough to think that this might actually have been a death they've witnessed, but Selene agreed with the dragon that this was a little unlikely to have been a real death. And this thought formed into an idea.
"What if she is not dead? What if something else is happening to the dragons?" She straightened herself up, trying to think of more when suddenly her mind went blank and she only thought of the ridiculously small spark of hope she was igniting, probably in vain. She couldn't look into either Aura's or Zorina's faces anymore because the sadness in both their looks was simply too much to take. It mirrored her own feelings and it was something she didn't want to get sucked into, realising what her own feelings were.
Turning back to Alec, so she wouldn't start trying to analyse what this meant on the greater scheme, her shoulders slumped down again as the boy went still again. Now they were stuck here and there seemed to be no way to do anything for the dragon. "Yet another one gone," she mumbled, and it made her wonder if this was going to happen to Zorina as well.

Zorina nodded to Selene's comment. "That's acually what I've been hoping this whole time. And what I've been looking for. But I wouldn't know where to start as far as looking goes." she shook her head.
Aura thought for a moment. "But.... you said something about being able to sense magic. This was dark magic.... Could you not track it also?" she suggested.
A hopeful spark shone in Zorina's eyes. "Well..... I've never tried it before.... but it's an idea."
Aura nodded, a small smile tinting her sad expression. Guessing that they weren't going anywhere soon, she slid off of Zorina's back. She noticed how sad Selene seemed, but she didn't make any attempt to comfort her.... or go anywhere near her. She just watched from a distance.

"Aura is right. That is actually a quite good idea to try and track it, especially now that the sensation is still fresh," Selene got herself worked up again but smiled at Aura for having this good idea. "Maybe it's not too late yet, maybe you could really find her. You could stand a real chance to track it, as strong as the aura was!" She suddenly jumped up, frantically gesturing along with what she was saying.
Despite not knowing Zorina for that long, she felt sad if she thought about what might happen to her if they didn't find the source of this. Then she looked back down at Alec. They couldn't really leave him lying there. Well they could, but she didn't want to do it, after all, he was unconscious and there were wild animals around her that might be hungry.

Aura smiled faintly at the fact that Selene seemed alot happier now. But she was mainly preoccupied with Zorina, who looked slightly more hopeful, but still unsure.
"So, can you do it?" she asked.
Zorina was thoughtful for a moment. "I honestly don't know. But it certainly couldn't hurt.
Aura smiled further. "Great! Can we do anything to help?"
Zorina shook her head. "No. I just need concentration...." she hesitated. Really, she'd have a better chance of catching the scent if they were both gone. Especially Selene. But she didn't want to be left alone with the unconcious slayer.
"Um... just stay as far away from me as possible," she finally said. "And take the boy with you, if you can."

It would be so great if it would work, but Selene didn't want to get her hopes up too much, and especially she did not want it to be all too visible in her face, it would be too hard on Zorina if all the hope they were trying to build up now would be shattered. And it would be shattered in seconds if it were the case.
As she remembered how Zorina and her had met, she sensed that the dragon wanted especially her to move farther away to give her more possibility to catch the other dragon's magical aura, and not her own, which she still didn't believe she had.
Selene glanced over at Aura, not sure whether the girl would want to give her a hand in moving the boy about. She didn't even want to touch him herself. A cold shudder ran down her spine when she only thought of touching him. The memory of the flames licking at him was still fresh in her mind. They had no idea what they were or what they would cause in the long run.
"Could we leave the boy here? I'll just move as far away as possible for the time being, he shouldn't disturb your concentration too much? He is unconscious anyway, and for quite some more time it seems."

Zorina hesitated. He was unconcious.... but she also knew that the state of conciousness was never constant.
In other words, he could wake up any minute.
Aura glowered down at the boy. He had caused half of this. Yeah, she wanted to move him. Somewhere where the wild animals would find him.
Okay, maybe not that much, but she still didn't want to take him with them. She wasn't even thinking of the fire, she just hated his guts that much. She was glad Selene agreed with her.
But she could see how being around a slayer would make Zorina nervous. Even if he was knocked out.
"I am not taking that boy," she said with a hint of disgust, "especially if Selene doesn't want to either. But here,"
Walking over to the boy nonchalantly, she reached over his body and took his sword right out of the lifeless hand he held it with. "I'll take this," she said smugly, as if talking to the boy. Looking over at Zorina and holding up the sword, she asked, "Does that make you feel any better?"
Zorina was not about to admit that she was afraid of the boy. She just gave a small nod and said, "Leave now, so I can work."

Selene nevertheless had to grin at Aura's revulsion. Watching her grab the sword, she got the weird idea that they might pull the boy away a little with the help of the sword, but should he wake up they might kill him in the process and that was nothing Selene wanted to be responsible for. ~(I know I know.. Little Miss Denial hihi ^^ )~

"Are you going to be alright without us?" Selene asked. She knew the question was superfluous and that Zorina would even get along better when nobody was around, but she felt like asking. "If you need us, just shout, we'll be back in no time!" Yet another unnecessary thing to say but it made Selene feel a little better about the whole situation. Clearing her throat, she looked away from Zorina and put the question to Aura whether they should start moving.

The best way to get out of here for creatures without wings was probably the way the horse dragon and the slayer had come up here, down the slopey path of the little mountain they were atop. Everything else would involve climbing either up or down.

Zorina nodded to the first question of Selene's, but didn't bother to answer the second statement.
"Um... yeah, probably..." Aura answered, now mostly over her moment of revulsion.
She looked around the small hillish landform they were pretty much trapped on, and spotted their way out.
"Come on," she said, touching Selene to get her attention. "This way."

Selene quickly reacted to Aura's touch and they started climbing down the little path. "How far do you think we should go so we're not interfering anymore?"
She suddenly tripped on a stone and nearly lost her balance, but caught herself just before she fell to the floor completely. Steadying herself with her left hand, she then righted herself up again. "That was close," she laughed. Selene and Aura had never really talked much on their own, it was usually through Zorina that they had even anything to do with each other, so Selene was looking for some way to break the ice, but she didn't quite know how, except for the typical questions, which she know asked one of. "So, what brought you to this part of the lands?"

"I don't know-"
Aura was cut off by Selene tripping, and lurched to help her, but by that time, she'd already caught herself. She didn't laugh with her, but gave a concerned glance before moving on.
She was aware just as much as Selene that they hadn't really gotten very friendly with each other, but she wasn't really in the mood for small talk. She kept telling herself she needed to concentrate. But on what? They were just walking down a hill.
But then Selene started off anyway. "I come out here to think." she answer simply, shrugging.
After a moment, she decided it was safe to add, "Being around people can be irritating, when they always expect you to do things their way. And I don't have much of a home there anyway. Out here I can be at peace."

Selene opened her mouth to reply, but couldn't get a word out. Aura and her seemed to have more in common than any of the two probably had thought. At least from this first statement, it looked like it.
"You know, it may sound stupid, but I know what you mean. The constant pressure of having to conform to what everyone else expects you to do and to be.. It's taking the fun out of developing your own personality, of being individual." Having said that, Selene didn't know whether she should continue or not. At least they were past the point of simple small-talk. This could lead to an actual conversation they would not try to keep going simply to avoid awkward silences.
Deciding to simply give it a go, Selene added: "I was actually trying to get my thoughts together when Zorina suddenly turned up. Life has been weird these days and the family is not too happy with the way I handle things. I'm just not sure what to do anymore." She might have said more than she wanted at first, but what the heck, it's not like it was a big secret that she slowly started to turn into some kind of outsider in her home village.

Aura gave a small smile. "No, that doesn't sound stupid at all. It's acually quite releiving to talk to someone with some sense for once."
She didn't comment anymore, until Selene made her last remark, at which Aura glanced over, giving her a thoughtful look. This was certainly turning out of be an interesting conversation. Finally, someone she could relate to. And it just so happened to be another girl about her age. You had to wonder, what did that say about society?
"Oh?" she replied. "Would you mind me asking what happened?"

Selene smiled at Aura's first remark and didn't think twice before answering her question. It was nice to be able to talk to someone that understood for a change.
"Oh you know.. My parents want me to be the perfect little daughter, like my younger sister, but I refuse to marry a guy simply because he is rich and could care for me - on financial and social terms, though I would not be happy with him and would lead a crappy life as a maid." She sighed. "My parents would maybe accept my ways of thinking if it were not for my younger sister. Little Miss Perfect... My brother did the right thing in leaving before it all got out of hand." She added the last remark with a little hint of anger but she knew she would have done the same in his stead. It had simply been the best way to go.

They finally reached the end of the path, a little plateau where they could rest. They should be out of reach for Zorina's nose to pick up their scent by now.

Aura listened intently, looking thouhgtful and sympathetic all at once.She didn't reply, though, until they'd reached the plateu (sp?) and could rest.
Aura laid down immediety, her body stretched out, and her head pillowed by her arms.
"I know exactly what you mean," she said. Which wasn't all that true. She understood her point of veiw, but she had no idea what it was like to have overbearing parents. Or parents at all, really. "I myself have sword off men for the moment. I mean, I'm young! I want to have some fun in my life, explore. I'm in no mood to settle down with some guy who thinks I can't do anything and treats me like property. I'm just glad that I don't have anyone to tell me otherwise."
She said the last part without thinking.

Selene found herself a rock to lean against from where she could watch Aura. She preferred seeing the people she was talking to, even if she was not looking into their faces constantly. "Exactly! It's not like guys have to stay home with their wives, they can wander off and do whatever they want for years without returning. Even the unmarried ones, so why should we not be able to do the same. It would maybe be different if there were men you could travel with, that would share adventures with you without treating you like a slave they brought along to cook the food, but someone who would treat you like an equal. But figures that something like that is not to be found."
Then she paused her enthusiastic speech that was about to burst out when she realised what Aura's last statement had been. Selene had no idea what it was like for someone to grow up without parents. After all, they had done a lot for her, apart from raising her, partially into who she was now, even if it did not completely fulfill their expectations.
Then again, Aura did not seem to mind that much. But Selene couldn't help but ask hesitantly: "What happened to your family?"

Aura laughed silently to herself, a thought coming to her. And she couldn't help but be a little glad that Selene didn't appearantly realize what she'd said.
Or maybe not.
Aura restrained from flinching, merely from the question. She did not like to get into the sob story of her life. She didn't want other people's sympathy, and she didn't even mind that much. Yeah, it'd be nice to have a family. But she was happy on her own, too. And it didn't even seem like she was that anymore.
Aura merely shrugged. "I dunno. I was stuck in an orphanage for as long as I can remember. Some jerk adopted me, but I managed to run away. I think I was..... twelve, maybe when that happened."
Trying to change the subject, she turned on her side to look at Selene and smiled maliciously. "But hey, cheer up. How would your parents feel if you brought home an adventurer! He's faced feirce foes and horrible, fire breathing dragons. He's tall, lean, with short brown hair and bright green eyes and creatures shudder at the sight of him. Even when he's unconcious and a girl has stolen his sword." she dangled the sword she had stolen from the boy in front of her teasingly.

Selene didn't know what to reply to that. She couldn't even begin to imagine what it would be like to have been on your own for your entire life, orphanage and an unhappy home don't count as someone being there for you. Another reason why she was glad that Aura changed the topic again. It would be have been awkward to keep going on this and awkward was something they both did not need right now.
"What?!" Selene gasped. She was completely dumbstruck and didn't know what to reply to this. Though her cheeks felt a little warm, indicating that she was flushing bright red. "I.. I don't know what you.. eh.. mean," she stuttered. "I was not talking about him," she added defiantly, but then had to chuckle despite herself. "Though my parents would be /really/ happy if I did that to them. I can especially imagine the disgusted look on my sister's face, haha."
Then she got up and started pacing about slowly, not being able to sit anymore, and that was not only because the rock was not comfortable to lean against.
