In The Game is set in the year 2045, a world where professional gaming (and subsequently casual gaming) is on the same level as professional sports—in other words, if you’re not gaming, you’re not cool.

Since the opening of South Verona Institute for Gaming, the Impact Gaming Academy Commandos have seen it (and its “hippie rip-off” students) as a thorn in their collective side. SVIGD isn’t quite sure what to make of Impact Gaming Academy, but has come to the campus wide consensus that its militant students are tightwads and bullies. Both high schools have sworn to beat the other in any and all gaming contests, and a brand new year has just begun. Who will you game with?
