So, whats the point of this roleplay, and what on earth is it about? Well, it's very simple. About two years ago, me and Tiff started a roleplay. The first ever one x one together. Which expanded into a sequal, which is now going to expand into it's second sequal.

Plot

Roleplay 1: Rocket and Zar met. They hated the guts out of each other. Then May came along, low and behold, he hated her aswell.
Roleplay 2: Once again, they crossed paths. More fighting, life-threatening situations and death wishes.

Now, their third confrontation is about to begin. This time, it's going to be different. Their third battle, second sequal, third form of hatred. Only this time...we aren't on neo. This time, there aren't any ridiculous rules. This time, they know how each other acts.
I will be playing my favourite character of all time - Rocket.
Non of you have ever seen me roleplay him, until now.
This is also a roleplay for us to see how we have changed over the time.

Tiff, let's get the memories going again. =)

OOC|M'kay here we go, single character overload but oh whells! Commenceth zeh fun.

The evening was warm, scented with the sweetness of summer flowers with a muggy humidity lying low in the air. Sitting in the midst of the lower end of the forest where the ground became soft and marsh like turning more to a grey green lukewarm pulp. The twisted shapes of gnarled tree roots weaving throughout them like eels and the darkness under the thick trees made the setting all the more low-toned, yet it was raised up high...and just a few metres beyond this pool of mud was the edge, it overlooked the long rolling sands around the southern end of dragons cove the waters calm this evening and the wind warm and only slightly breezy.

She raised one withered hand out from under the ungulfing mush, still remaining sat in the grotesque look of it, as if unbothered by it completely. Then she gestured to him to pass her the scale, her listless grey eyes looking over it's magnificent sheen, and so Zartear leaned down and handed it to her keeping himself out of the odd substance, but near enough.
The half-blood oracle held it to her face then swiftly spat on it, the acidity seemed to react against the polished scale and cause it so dissolve, the liquid falling into the grey sludge and causing the pool to fold over itself again and again causing it to shimmer oddly. The oracle cast her hand into it and then raised up the gloop examining it carefully as it shifted and changed in her hands from shape to shape.
"It seems the beast is in one of the southern caves not far from here....He's elderly and weakened..." She peered deeper still. "But there is also a word of caution in it's energy, have you any enemies, slayer?"
Zartear kept silent, acknowledging her words with merely a blink, before setting down a long-horn dragon skull by the edge of the pool which the oracle pulled away as she returned to her hollow out underneath a tree.

After a fairly long walk, Zartear had returned to the place where he had hidden his armour under the thickets and examined it for a while. This would be easy, an elderly prey yes? None too difficult, and for the energy stored in that thing it might well be exceptionally worth while, nothing worth sharpening the blade over? Then looking out to the sea beyond and back down to the belt of caves rising just above the sea level he smiled to himself, the dragon was in one of those for sure... Should he set out now?
Nah...might as well have a nights rest first, that dragon was on it's last legs probably so why rush? Setting aside his equipment he leaned back against the tree, eyes half closed, usually sleeping like this wasn't the preferred option but he only needed a few hours, maybe more maybe less...Either way walking back to the nearest town, well, there was no point for it. And so he shut his eyes, not once had the oracle's warning ventured into his mind...And for the fight, that was already his first mistake.

The sky was almost turning orange due to the red ball in the sky getting lower and lower. Within the next few hours, it would be dark. The shadows from the trees would over-power the land and the glistening moon could re-enter the darkened atmosphere, like it had done for so many nights on the run. The land’s ‘daytime’ creatures wouldn’t be a common sight, and the nocturnal creatures would be out. Nevertheless, this wouldn’t be a familiar sight to a certain dragon.
Just the few more hours of daylight that was left was all he needed. It was enough time for this particular dragon to arrive to the island and get the rest he well deserved. The shore was coming into sight, and the waves came in small leaps, bouncing across each other. In the midst of this playful liquid, was a beast. Pacing the water with ease, not even the slightest sign of concern upon his face. So what if a wave crashed over his body...then what? He would just carry on swimming, like he had been doing for the past two days. The purple figure glided across the blue sea, not showing any sign of tiredness. Even though the last time he had a rest was half a day ago, the energy within his body was dropping slower than rapidly.

Two dark-purple eyes vanished beneath the lid of lighter purple scales for a second, before re-appearing into sight as the creature blinked. His focus was only for the shore that was in sight in front of him. If he could just keep swimming, then maybe he could make it to the island of Dragons Cove...win the race against the sun and arrive at the place where he had been wanting to go, when he first found out about the...
How it had shocked him, made him release that he didn’t have to be alone in the world anymore. That he could actually have the chance to meet his last relative that he didn’t even know existed until two days ago. It all seemed so sudden to him. One minute he was the last one...then he wasn’t. Then he was moving islands. For permanent? He didn’t know. Could he actually leave the island he had grown up on for good? The island where he last saw his parents and any other relatives that were now gone. It was such a big leap. Well, it would be for anyone really. Like moving house, only you would never be able to see anyone you knew in the past.

No. The dragon thought to himself, even if he wasn’t the last of his dragon breed around, he didn’t have to think about where he was going to live just yet. Just find his grandfather first. That’s all that mattered. But what if it was just a lie? What if he wasn’t even on this island, then what? Would he have travelled all of this way for nothing? It didn’t matter to him. He had to be certain. He couldn’t go on wondering whether the answer to his question was a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’. Because if it was a ‘yes’, then he would most probably regret it for the rest of life. Regret it and think about it everyday. How could he live with that? Just knowing that a relative of his was alive, a mere few islands away, but he never went to see him. If he missed his chance, then it would be missing all he had wanted in the past few years. Just knowing that someone else was out there. Knowing that he wasn’t alone in this world. He had never imagined that being the last of his species was like. Being the last ‘Top-heavy dragon’. He had no idea how awful it was. Just the thought that if you died, then he would be wiping out the whole of his race. Causing them to go into extinction. That one, lingering thought that if he died, he would have let the whole of his species down.

So, he hadn’t even reached the island and thoughts were already swarming his mind. Getting a hold of himself wouldn’t be the problem, but he was worrying about the disappointment that would over-power his body if the relative wasn’t here.
Snorting as a stream of salty liquid brushed over his muzzle, realisation came back into his mind. For now, he had to focus on swimming. Afterall, Dragons Cove was in sight, and slowly getting bigger every stride he swam. If anyone got in his way, then no doubt he would put a stop to his or her’s foolish act. Nothing was going to stop him. Even if it meant risking his own life. He wasn’t afraid of dying, and he wasn’t afraid of walking the world alone. The least he could do was try, because if he didn’t try, then he would never know.

An hour passed; the purple dragon kept himself occupied by listening to his thoughts. The sun in the sky had got even lower, making the three, large spikes on the top of his head deepen in colour. As did the three on the end of his tail. In-between the two sets of huge spikes, was a row of smaller ones. They were the same colour and ran along his spine. Underneath the water, his stripey-yellow belly wasn’t visible from above the surface. That pretty much summed up this particular dragon. Like any other, his specific breed held differences. Only the sixth ‘small spike’ down held a physical difference since it was slightly chipped from a previous battle. But so what? No dragon was perfect. Just this one had amazing will power, and his sheer determination was what kept him going.

His name? Rocket.

Hours later and the sun was setting beautifully, whisks of fiery orange and gold colours meeting with the sea in the distance, like a fireball being quenched by the ocean. The humidity of earlier was much less now with a soft relaxing breeze, the tropical winds that came from over the west of Dragons Cove now swept to the south east smoothly like a stroking of gentle fingers. He stirred only a little at first then moving his shoulders and neck, then a yawn as his eyes came back into focus. The rest hadn’t been too long but it had been enough, he was eager to search out this old dragon in one of the low-lying caves along this shore and now he had just the energy he needed. He figured he’d take the armour just in case the dragon wasn’t quite half-dead, after all it was much easier to equip and remove than it’s standard non-slayer designed counterpart, even if at times it had a mind of it’s own…Heaving himself from the ground and taking the small blackened stick containing the energies for his armour and weapon with him. Staying just under the cover of trees he began to walk along the coast, out of sight, but close enough.

Within about a half hour he was at the caves, passing the ones from the size of a mouse’s burrow and eyes set ahead at the significantly larger caves…The grand abodes of the cold blood monsters, or in this case, hopefully a smoke huffing excuse of a dragon. He wasted no time in seeking out the most probable home, looking for any traces of “dragonic” things…Anything from human bones (less common) to strong odors that could turn any nose away…Nothing much yet, maybe if he just went a little deeper into one of these caves he might find stronger evidence than a whiff of sea breeze. So he did, feet treading carefully on the flat stone floor, holding his guard up as he peered into the darkness.

He didn’t have any idea of how much time had passed. Half an hour? An hour? More? Who cared, the sun was still in the sky – barely, and he had made it. Heaving his great body onto the soft sand, he waited until he was a few feet inland. Rocket stretched out his stubby neck, well, it seemed stubby compared to certain breeds, and shook it. This resulted in the rest of his body all the way down to the tip of his tail shaking violently. Small droplets of water falling from his scales, glistening in the low sunlight as they travelled to the ground. Of course, it would take some time to dry off completely, especially since the sun wasn’t high in the sky and the wind was picking up. But then again, wind was better at drying things off than sunlight. Taking one last glance at the calm sea, he headed towards the small bundle of caves in the distance. It wouldn’t take long to get there –less than an hour, so it would give him enough time to have a good nights rest before continuing his search. Afterall, what was the point travelling when you were about to drop with exhaustion?

1,500 paw prints later, the Top-heavy dragon peered his head into a relatively small-looking cave. His eyes flicked around, examining every nook and cranny there was. No beast like him would be able to wander into a random cave, without checking for danger on an island he didn’t know. Nevertheless, there was no danger within this cave, and it looked as if nothing lived in there anyway.
Shuffling himself to the back of the cave and settling himself upon the floor, he fell asleep within minutes of closing his eyes.
That night, his dreams changed ever so slightly. Not nightmares, but they changed from the normal, flowing ones he used to have in the past. Before Rocket arrived at Dragons Cove, all of his dreams were about him finding someone else, someone to prove to himself that he is not alone. But now his dreams changed to the actual journey of reaching that dragon. The long, hard journey, but the ever-lingering disappointment if no one was at the end of the pathway. But also, the excitement of the hope, the hope of just someone being there.

Flickers of light peeped into the cave through the entrance. Lightening up Rocket’s scales and eventually reaching his eyelids: causing him to wake. The light was disorientating, but it would be for anyone who was in his position. Moving out of the darkness, he looked around, ears flicking to the different sounds, noise flaring to the different smells. All of this change would become use to him…eventually. His head twisted southwards, and he snorted. The cave was actually in sight! Maybe a two-hours journey away, but he could see it! Two hours wouldn’t seem long at all to him, since his thoughts would fill his head even more than they had done. Just two hours away from the truth.

OOC| Just a tiny bit of time-skipping Monty =3

Little did this experienced and cunning slayer know, that the prey he really should have been seeking was anything but far from him, and it was no less than physically prime, that dragon he had fought at least twice before but never succeeded to take down...That top-heavy dragon, what was his name? Oh he had forgotten, it didn't matter, they didn't really deserve names. To him each dragon was just as dead to him as the next. As he inspected this traceless cave his focus hardened. That dragon, it must be in the last cave exactly next to this one either that or another slayer had gotten it already. Highly doubtful, or else maybe the oracle was the one whom would have to be paying. Concluding this cave contained nothing more, after quite a long time spent searching, he began to walk back to it's mouth his black metallic boots sounded on the stone.
His face, neutral, it was only time that could tell. The last cave, steps away now.
He peered out of the cave spying nothing new of interest, the angle he was at made it impossible for him to see his real challenger. Running an inspective hand upon the stone of the cave, analysing it's opening walls, searching harder and harder, a sign any sign would do it!
Zartear spent a moment then, central to the cave's entrance, looking deep into it's foreboding darkness, this cave looked to be very deep- it must have been it.
A smile, a knowing snake-like smile, this was it. Killing the last dragon of it's kind on Dragons Cove!
And so, from the coast, you could see his black-clad body merge into the cave...

Atleast, he thought he could see it. As he slowly got closer to the cave in the distance, he noticed that it wasn’t alone. Upon the horizon, many more blurred images came into sight. Rocket sighed, before stopping to look at the many caves. The closer he got, the clearer they became.
Raising his purple snout to the sky, he closed his eyes and took in a breath of air. He had caught a dragon’s scent. But, it would be unlikely to be the one he was looking for, since he didn’t know how many dragons could be living nearby. Striding forwards again, he followed the specific scent, which didn’t actually send him away from the direction of the caves. Could it be?
Step after step, the scent got stronger, until he found himself running, leaping across the grassy floor. He was almost falling into his stride, making it incredibly uneven. Excitement building within him.
When all of a sudden, another scent filled his nose. Flaring his nostrils, he came to a stop. He almost toppled over as his body weight carried on moving forwards
The smell, he recognised it...recognised it greatly.
Rocket’s eyes blazed with fire, anger building up inside him. He knew that scent very well. He also knew how much he would give to destroy it.
Pushing his weight onto his hind legs, and raising the front half of his body, he reared up and let out a great roar. Before pushing off and leaping forwards into a run. His stride was even now, falling quicker and quicker, until his legs were a purple blur. His ears were flat across his head, his eyes showing nothing but hate. Not even wanting to think his name, Rocket wondered how he was even still alive. Surely he had gotten what he deserved, after all these years, a dragon had finally finished him off. But obvoiously not. If he was as near as his scent told him he was, then he was very close to the other dragon.
Too close for his liking.
Then the realisation crossed through his mind...

OOC| Lol, another long one, don't worry, it's mostly fight description Wink

His intuition must have been correct now, there was definitely a dragon in here…Besides, the oracle had predicted it so…As he pressed on into the folding darkness of the cave he now murmured some words to himself, the smallish black stick suddenly became animated and a liquid metal developed from it. This liquid shaped itself rapidly to the long, broad and menacing black sword he used. Simple in it’s appearance, but no less callous looking, traces of light highlighting it’s smooth sheen that ran along the whole blade. Holding the hilt to his chest, the blade raised in it’s offensive position half rising over his shoulder.
Closer and closer, he could smell the dragon’s scent in the air now, his body was now primed for the kill, eyes widened and eager but his footsteps showing a patient collected nature.
Now, far into the cave, into it’s deep but expansively large chamber he stood at the bottleneck of it, the only way out. His eyes fell upon the last Top-Heavy dragon, it was large, but quite obviously old…You could tell it’s days were numbered, the shimmer had fleeted from it’s scales and it’s deep purple eyes had lost the vibrant sparkle of a powerful dragon…Nonetheless, it may be aged, but it had a certain aura of wisdom about it.

Zartear proudly smiled to himself as they met eye to eye; this was a mutual feeling. The dragon seemed to understand at once what type of a human he was, it rose itself from the floor and a rumble emanated from it’s throat, beginning to bare it’s teeth. Then all at once, without warning, it exploded into action. Zartear swiftly set to work, focusing on cutting down the elder dragons legs, much to his surprise the dragon managed to block his advances wrestling the sword away with every swipe, pushing back on it with strong claws before then striking back at Zartear with a sudden swoop of the tail which he in turn also avoided.
So maybe the old banger did know a few tricks. No speech passed between them, each trying to outwit the other. Zartear changed his weapon, the sword transforming to the heavy wrestling chains, this should test that old lizard’s strength…

He adeptly gained pace on the chains and flung them out ferociously around the dragon’s neck, and as the magic proved true, they linked up to form a noose-like grip and the enraged top-heavy dragon snarled and roared in protest, rearing up much like a horse shaking it’s head back and forth to rid itself of the terrible chains that held it fast. Zartear refused to let go, his strength (with the aid of the power in the chains themselves) pitted against the dragon’s, this dragon was still unusually strong for his age. Zartear ran behind the dragon having to watch himself carefully as the dragon lashed it’s tail to and fro, taking the occasional impact to his sides but still he stood his ground. With another sudden, powerful movement he grabbed and forced the chains back, bending the dragons head and neck over itself toward him holding the chains like bridles…And now it’s head was in such a position he proceeded to pull directly down.
….It was only a matter of time until the dragons spine would snap from the pressure and it released agonizing hisses and half-roars from it’s tightened throat trying to cry out for a miracle… Zartear smiled again to himself,
Just a tiny bit…
More…

Ooc;; Ugh, suckish for many reasons. Apologies for the extremely late reply.

Bic;;
He ran, ran as fast as he could, eyes wide as the scent became ever stronger. Rocket bared his teeth as he got closer to the cave. The wind seemed to get stronger, as if it was trying to stop him from getting there in time, as if it was on that damn slayer’s side. The caves became less blurry, and he knew which one it was now, he knew which the two were in. Just a few hundred metres away now...
A roar echoed fom the closest cave, one that sounded rather distorted and pained. But undoubtedly, Rocket knew it was a call for help from non other than a Top-Heavy dragon. A sense of joy filled up inside him, knowing that there was still one other like him alive. But at the same time, that joy was filled with fear and rage. Fear that he could be too late. And if he was, he was sure to kill that slayer, no matter what the cost.
Another pained cry came from inside the cave, and this time, Rocket retuned it. He opened his jaw and let a deep, menacing roar echo from within his throat. One to let the other dragon know he was coming for help, and one to let the slayer know he was making a big mistake.
Taking one big breath of fresh air that mingled in with the scent of two other beings, Rocket narrowed his eyes onto the opening of the cave and leapt forwards. His legs extened into the dark, action-filled scene and he landed neatly and lightly. He narrowed his eyes quickly and caught sight of what was going on. Less than a few seconds passed before he began to ac. He would have to be quick if he wanted to save this dragon's life. And by god, he was going to do it.
Hoping he had taken the human by surprise at his sudden and unseen entry, Rocket bounded towards the chains and grabbed hold of them with his teeth and pulled. He pulled with all of his effort in the opposite direction from the slayer, in an attempt to relax the chains that were around his relative's neck. If he was lucky, then the slayer would have been fighting for a while, and hopefully be tired. Giving him the advantage. As soon as the older dragon began to wriggle it's way out of the chains, Rocket turned his head back towards his sworn enemy and allowed his eyes to blaze with anger. Zartear, he muttered, as he let the chains drop from his mouth.

"Well, well, well...If it isn't this little dragon?" Zartear sneered, and the memories came rushing back. When he was still only moderately experienced using a rag-tag of several different weapons in the deep forests and it ended in a stalemate, how the next time he'd lost this dragon through time in a game-reserve forest and left it at that. This time however, Zartear was not going to leave empty handed, the old dragon would die, but this dragon? This dragon had to be killed....It refused to live as a tamed dragon, so it'd die a wild one. For now, he'd have to ignore the old dragon and focus on his new stronger prey.

He snapped the chains back up towards him, letting it morph back to it's sword form. He rested it at a diagonal on his chest.
"It's been a long time hasn't it Rocket? A long time spent by myself, killing off your dragon brethren, what fine trophies they make." He taunted urged the sword from his chest still at it's diagonal, held straight in front of him.
Zartear moved a little closer,
"Sure you don't want to change your mind, you know, while you're still alive?" He tensed his legs.
"Has anybody ever told you what a truly unique dragon you are?"

Ooc;; I'm fine with it. :3
And yeah okay, I'll do the same. Since you know how much I hate pointless posts. x]

Bic;; Nothing but fire coursed through his veins as he felt the anger and hatred ripping through him. So he was the reason why he was a member of an endangered species? He wanted nothing more to rip that piece of dirt to shreds, make his very existence endangered as well. After all of these years of wishing death upon the man, now was his chance .
He paced forwards and positioned him in front of the other dragon, not taking his eyes off the guy opposite him. He angled his head so that his voice could be only heard by the dragon behind him. “Hide in your cave, or get out of here. I won’t let him take your life.” They weren’t the words he had chosen to share with his grandfather on their first ever encounter, but anything he had hoped for had changed the moment Zartear appeared on the scene. Without speaking, the older and somewhat darker-coloured top-heavy dragon nodded and shuffled back in his cave, breathing heavily after the last fight scene. Once the purple sheen vanished in the darkness, Rocket turned back to look at Zartear.
“It’s been too long.” He growled as he bared his teeth. Right now, he didn’t want to play any games, he just wanted to rip the man’s throat out. But he knew his time would come soon enough, if Zartear wanted to play, then by hell would he get a game. “After today, your trophy days will be over. You will never slay another of our kind again.” Another hiss escaped his mouth at the comment about how unique he was. All thanks to him. “And has anyone ever told you how your life will end?” He paused. “Underneath my claws.”
With that, Rocket tensed his leg muscles and leapt towards the man. His legs outstretched, teeth bared and claws aiming for his throat. He had never felt so alive in his life until this moment.

Zartear lowered his head a little, a look of focus claiming his face as the older dragon crawled it's way into the shadows, to be protected by the darkness.
"For a dragon, you do speak rather boldly don't you think? And I wonder..." He paused, reading the dragon's moves for anything to indicate an attack. "Who told you that? Is that the only thought that helps you sleep? How about you prove it to me." He smiled a little, tempting the dragon to lash out with anger, "How about you prove it to the blood on this sword, the blood of many long dead, beastly lizards like yourself. I assure you, there's only one place for you to sleep, dragon."
The rest didn't need to be said.
Sure as anything though, even if he couldn't have the elder dragon just yet, it was always a thrill to face an old foe. In the blink of an eye Zartear had leapt to the left side of Rocket, spying a chance to attack, and with one hand swooped the great sword through the air, aiming for a clean single cut through the neck.

Ooc;; I quite like the fact that we do short posts, because it's just back like old times, before we ever established we could post more than four lines. :p

Bic;; As Rocket’s claws dug into the earth, he let out a short growl of frustration at missing and in doing so, putting himself into a dangerous position. As soon as he had got his bearings, he swung his great body, sending it in the direction opposite to Zartear’s body. Sure, he would have liked to crush the man, but if he did, then there would be no chance of escaping the following sword. Which was now to close for comfort. Luckily, the sword merely skimmed his scales, a hairsbreadth from his shoulder rather than neck. He didn’t feel anything, but a small tug as a few scales fell from him.
Now seeing his chance for another attack at being so close to the slayer, he continued his body swing round until his tail was sent straight for Zartear’s torso. He may be dressed up well in heavy armor, but it couldn’t protect him from anything. And Rocket was sure to find out exactly what it could and couldn’t take. It had been a while, a very long while since their last encounter, so he was sure that his tactics and weaponry would have changed, even if just by the slightest, so he didn’t want to take any chances or perform any foolish moves.

He took a swift jump back while raising the two-hand sword using flat to deflect the crush of the tail. The dragon, if he wasn't kidding himself, must have grown as there was more power in the punch than anticipated.

"Unusual, you're being cautious?" He said, curiously. Rocket wasn't quite the hotheaded attack-first think-later dragon he knew from those times back. So he'd have to test this "new" opponent too. Rocket too, seemed to be testing the water, seeing if Zartear could handle his attacks...each trying to measure up the other. His armour was very strong and could take a heavy beating, but at the end of the day Zartear was still human and Rocket was still a dragon. Much better to avoid attacks at all cost. "Say now, what is it to you if I do kill your ancestor?" He snorted, "Your kind is already doomed to extinction." He took the moment of the pause to briefly murmur inaudible words. This would give Rocket something to worry about.

Rocket’s heavy tail struck the flat of Zartear’s sword with power, no doubt about that, but not as much as he had hoped for. After all, it was just a careful swing to gather time, wits and establish anything new about the man he should know of. Just as soon as his scales had connected with the metal and it had absorbed the blow, he flung it back around behind him. He bared his teeth as he stood facing the man dead on.

“It’s been a while,” he snorted, “I’m just testing out how much strength it will take to finish you off.” He closed his mouth, beginning to gather and ignite a blast of fire in his throat. But he delayed it a little as the man spoke again. But his words only angered him. How dare he talk of his species like that? They were to be respected, respected purely on the matter that they were the last of their kid, and that whatever power they had was precious behind imagination. But as the slayer began to mutter something, something he couldn’t hear, he finally opened his mouth and let out a short blast of fire, aiming head on for the man.

His words were cut off by the sudden blast of fire toward him, fortunately the sheer size of the cave gave him room to move around in so yet again he dodged the attack; thankful for his relatively light armour. Even so, he could see Rocket was barely exerting himself yet.
He felt the warm glow of fire stroke his bare upper arms as the gloomy cave came to light in a flash of gold, orange and red flames, the wall becoming charred and blackened.
His face stayed stony, taking all of this in, searching for a weak point he couldn't see yet.

"...And here is my gift to you, Ixette"He said the last word of the sequence, the clasped sword in his hands liquefied, then melted to the floor in a pool of black and went surging towards the dragon. "Let's see how you deal with the choke, eh?"
The pool of black as it approached rocket rose up from the oil-black puddle and started to take the form of the wrestling "dragon-chains" Zartear often use for larger, stronger dragons. Making as if they were to encase the dragon and strangle it to death. However this time, Zartear was using magic to control them instead.

This wasn't going to be easy by any stretch of the imagination.

Of course, Zartear was going to dodge that attack, but still, Rocket couldn’t help feel disheartened by the fact that he didn’t get roasted. Of course it was going to be difficult, but he had only hoped that fate was on his side in the matter. But right now, it looked as if it was on neither. That they had to decide upon their own fate.
As the man uttered his last word of whatever spell he was performing, Rocket felt his heart drop. The sword before him swiftly melted away into a black pool, before lurching towards him and re-transforming into those dreaded chains which he hate beyond relief. But his time they were different. Rocket took as few steps back as they approached him, taking everything in. Last time, Zartear had to control everything manually, but now it looked like he had become more gifted in the magic department. Now the chains no longer needed his touch.

Rocket let out a sharp snarl in Zartear’s direction, before returning his gaze back to the new opponent in front of him. He began stepping round in a circle, facing the chains and heading back so that he could get behind them, closer to Zartear. If he could distract the man, then perhaps the spell itself would be distracted and he would have a chance himself to destroy them.
Still with his eyes fixed on the newly formed chains, Rocket began to edge closer and closer to Zartear. It was going to take all his skill to deal with two opponents at once, but he wasn’t about to give up just yet.

It pleased Zartear to see the dragon's slightly surprised expression. Even though it would eventually happen that Rocket would know of Zar's magical limitations, until then he'd have to use this moment to his advantage. Every so often he motioned with his hands to keep the chains on course as they melted away, reformed and did so again and again reaching up to snare the dragon and utterly crush it.
A look of seriousness showed on his face as Rocket maneuvered the chains to the other side of him.
This left Zartear very exposed, defending against a dragon without a weapon for deflecting was a risky game he didn't fancy playing with this dragon. Too risky to continue his little dance of rattling black chains.

With a sharp gesture, both hands outstretched then quickly closing, as if beckoning the weapon he summoned half of the black mass to him. It then came alive in his hand as a sword half as long and broad as his usual one. It was better than nothing, probably faster than what he was used to, though.

The remainder of the black mess kept pushing forward on the dragon, there would be a crunch point soon enough when one could finally get a hold. Then it'd be a case of wrestling with Rocket all over again.
Well, if everything went to plan.
"I wouldn't attempt to escape from those chains, dragon, It won't go well for you. You should be honoured I even consider using them on you, those chains have choked the life from dragons far larger than you."

Things may have been tense, but as far as Zartear was concerned, there was no such thing as a bad time to gloat.

Rocket’s eyes narrowed as Zartear motioned for the black chains to split up. And to his distaste, they did. Quite easily, the black mess split into two, one half reforming into the man’s hands as a much smaller sword, that was the good bit, and the other half staying as chains, that was the bad bit. Well, at least it would be easier to wrestle himself out of the chains if need be now, but hopefully it wouldn’t come to that...he would make sure it didn’t come to that. He knew al too well what chains were capable of.
As the man re-grasped his new sword, he spoke his usual utter nonsensical crap again. “And I am far larger than you,” he hissed back with a twisted grin. “If you think a miniscule sword like that will do any damage to any damage to me worth the effort, then you might as well hand your life over right now.” He chose not to mention the chains, for her would rather Zartear attack him with the sword first, than those. And now he was going to make sure of it.

Rocket feinted to the left, then lunged to the right, making sure he could scramble out of any situation to come easily. He stretched his paws out and aimed for his claws to crash down onto the man and slice through the metal armor. Yes, he had turned his back on the chains, but hopefully he had moved quick enough for Zartear to forget those and fear for his life.

Zartear didn't respond to the Dragon's jeering of the sword, in comparison to a human a needle was small too, but that could kill if placed correctly. Or was the dragon feigning ignorance? Zartear had no time to ponder as the Dragon gave him no time to think. Zartear instinctively read the Dragon's moves and backed away, letting the animated metal chase the dragon itself while holding his sword on guard.

Without his direct control, the chains were looser and not quite so speedy, but the cursed energy sealed in the armour and weapon he used was known for having a life of it's own so they carried on, hungry as ever.

As he jumped back agilely again to dodge the last swipe of the dragon he made a small misjudgment of the speed of the claw and received a glancing blow from the dragon onto his chestplate; the reverberating feeling from the strike and then the clear chime of claw on metal forcing him into an ungainly double jump backwards. Even a "glancing blow" from this size of a dragon was bad news and he knew he couldn't afford to make anymore mistakes, that would be all the chance this mammoth dragon needed to kill him. A twitch of the brow showed than he knew this, that last swipe could have killed him.

With no delay he pulled with his left hand, sword in the right, so the black chains reared up like a giant snake. Then, with a hiss of the grinding black metal as they suddenly dove from their lofty position, one lower part of the chains was sent whirling towards the dragon's underbelly and the upper part aiming to the upper chest so that then, hopefully, the two would meet and fasten into a loop.

"Try harder." Zartear retorted.

A glimmer of satisfaction spread through Rocket as he felt one of his outstretched claws scrape along Zartear’s chest plate. He hadn’t intended to strike him, merely scare him to lose his focus on the chains so he had a chance to get rid of them. Perhaps Zartear’s arrogance was finally getting the better of him and he was becoming less careful. Well whatever the reason, he didn’t mind, or care for that matter. As long a she killed him, nothing mattered.

“You’re slipping up.” Rocket snarled at him, a small grin creeping up on his face in a patronizing manner. “I’m not even trying and you’re ruining your armor.” Although he had had a run of good luck, he was intelligent enough to know that this man didn’t give up easily and without a shadow of a doubt had some form of trick up his sleeve.

As the metal chains reared up however, Rocket’s attention swept back at to them in an instance. He began stepping backwards again as they came closer and all of a sudden, lunged at him. Even though he knew they were going to make a full on attack sooner or later, he hadn’t quite expected that to come quite so soon. It looked as if he wasn’t wasting any time, so neither should he.

Rocket barely managed to avoid the flailing chains that came his way, and he felt their cool metal brush his shiny, purple scales. His leap to the side brought him closer to Zartear, but he wasn’t paying any attention to him at the moment. His eyeline was set straight on the living metal before him, waiting to see what it’s next move was.
