Plot

Long has Bel~Zeri known to have legendary warriors and the protection of the dragons. Dragons always came over the city to keep an eye and to protect those within the city. At the time of night, the dragons would always watch over the town. The citizens of Bel~Zeri took the dragons protection as a convenience. Soon they decided not to put out a watch at night and they became dependent on the dragons to protect them.

Oh how they were so wrong to depend of something like this.

On a late night, in the season of sun and heat (summer), an Orc invasion came to attack the city. They came in force, wiping out the wall in one catapult strike. They rushed in with torches and flaming arrows, burning down houses and buildings. The sword wielding Orcs Breached houses and killed all occupants that were within the house. The Orcs would then raid the house before burning it.

As the havoc had begun, some of the citizens had made it to the south west gate and up the hill into a slight safe zone. It was their they watched the town go to ruins, wailing at friends, family and relatives that did not make it out of the raid. As soon as the Barracks went up in smoke, they paid a minute silence to commemorate the loss of such fine warriors. After that, they turned their backs and went to sleep.

In the morning, the survivors woke to the ruins of Bel~Zeri. Many of the women survivors burst into tears at the sight. Many of the people were confused as to what had happened. Conversations were starting about the town watch, the town guard and the dragons. It was soon all agreed that the survivors moved into the forest slightly for cover and for the purpose of hiding.

Before they started to move, a small group of soldiers from the city returned from battles. They reached the overlook of the hill to look over the town. They all stopped, bowed their heads and then gave a battle cry to remember those lost. They then joined the survivors into going a small ways into the forest to seek shelter and hiding.

It didn’t take them long to find a suitable place to camp. They set up and began talking about plans to rebuild lives. In the end, they got onto the topic of the dragons. They decided that the strongest people should go up to the Shofikio mountain range to pay a visit to the dragons to ask questions.

The question of where were the dragons in Bel~Zeri’s time of peril.

Setting Description

The terra is wide. A blackened city of bel~zeri lays in the area. The only this that isn’t blackened is the small river that runs through the city. However, it is polluted with the bodies of the people who lost their lives in the strike. The river starts at the dragon mountains, runs through the forest and then into the town. A lot of cleared land surrounds the south west gate of bel~zeri. Then, slowly, a forest starts to form, covering most of the area. South west is the direction you want to go to find the where you want to go to find the mountains that serve as the homes of the dragons.

Through the forest, there are many clearings and many other Danger areas. The dangerous poison sprites live in this forest as well as wolves, elves and orcs. Big encampments of these creatures are scattered throughout the forest. They are all dependant of the water that runs from the dragon mountains and down to the, now burnt down, town of bel~zeri. Hence, their encampments are close or not too far away from the river.

In some parts of the forest, it can get really dark and damp, a feeling of being watched can be felt in these areas. In other area’s, the sun or moon light filters through the canopy. This gives light to the forest and a feeling of happiness can always be felt in these area’s.

In some parts of the forest, Small mountain ranges can be seen. These mountain ranges are home to the unhelpful and aggressive griffins.

At the end of all the forest, continuing in the south west direction, A big mountain range can be seen. This mountain range is known as the Shofikio mountain range. This is where the home of the dragons can be, however, they make their homes in the highest parts of the mountains.

Through the Shofikio mountains is a big waterfall that leads to a river that goes through the forest and into the ruins of Bel~Zeri. This waterfall can be very dangerous, as it is pretty high. The mountain ranges can be pretty dangerous too, as the dragons have not had a visitor in their midst’s before. Caution should also be known to sharp ledges and steep drops.

It was lucky for her that she was on a expedition with a group of soldiers. When she returned to the city she called home, she saw nothing but destruction, pain, anguish and the cold smell of death. It scared her to think what would have happened if she had remained behind at the barracks, or if she stayed behind at all.

After seeing what the town looked like after its invasion, she never wanted to return again, even if it was to rebuild. She would move on to the next town that was willing to take a female warrior in.

She admitted to herself that, she too, had taken the dragons for granted. In fact, she left the town to go on this adventure because she thought the dragons would still be around.

Well she was wrong. And so was the whole town.

Now she was sitting on a log, thinking over plans of what must be done. Her brown hair was no longer in a ponytail, it was draped over her face. The vivid green that was her dress was now brown and had dark patches from dirt and water, the chain mail and breast plate were all smeared in mud. Sticks were poking out of the chain mail and out of her hair. Shin guards were covered in mud and so were her leather boots. Her face too, had dirt marks over it. her scar was easily visible.

She stood up. Being only 5’5, people found it had to believe she was a warrior. She would always reassure then that she was, and that she didn’t have a sword and armor for no reason.

She moved closer into the forest, not glancing back at the busy survivors and warriors that were making plans for the quests ahead. Should she abandon these people to go in search of the dragons?

Her mind thought over the possibilities. But all of them told her that she should go, but with a team of people that she could trust to come out with her on this expedition. Her mind was deep in thought until she jumped at a voice behind her.
“Lady Alaron, your not going to go out there to find these…. Creatures are you?”
“I do as I must. Plus, dragons have always had a special place in my heart. I must go see these creatures” The lady, known as Alaron, Quietly whispered.
The soldier nodded his head and then returned to the survivors.

‘I will head out and find these mighty creatures. I’m ready for it.’

She turned around. “People of Bel~Zeri, I have decided to take the long and dangerous road that leads to the dragons. Seldom do people walk these roads, so the way will be dangerous. Who is with me for this quest?” She Announced.

‘Now lets see who will join me.’

There was an elf girl sitting a tree watching the humans and wondering what was going on she scouted the area where they were and saw a blackened town not that far from them, she wondered what had happened here and why all these humans were camping where they were camping. She mindlinked *Amylee we have humans not far from us. Keep hidden please i don't want anything to happen to you.* Amylee replied *Ok Vel I promise I'll stay hidden from any body besides you of course.*

The elf girl giggled softly as she continued watching the humans and trying to pick up what they were saying. Her silver hair blew in the wind and glinted as the sun hit it. She was tempted to jump down from her tree and get closer to the humans but she remembered what her family had told her, which made her think against it she started whistling a quiet tune aware that one of the humans might hear her.
Her name: Velvet.

The day had been a lazy one, drifting amongst the clouds as he was, wandering vaguely in a southern direction, toward where his map had roughly indicated a small village lay amongst the forest. It was his intention to find a resting place for the night, seeing as he'd spent the past week or so fending for himself in the wilds and was quite tired of taking shelter beneath trees in the event of bad weather. The cloak treated for light weather he had managed to acquire a few months ago could protect the young avian man from mist and a light sprinkle or two, but an full-out drizzle would soak the poor boy to the bone quite easily. Even as he flew, the aforementioned garment was securely balled up and stored in a thin sack that was belted to his stomach, damp from a light sprinkle the day before. Once he found that town he was looking for, it would be the first thing to be hung up to dry.

'That is, if I find it...' Talos mused grimly, his eyes searching the ground around him for a break in the forest of trees that was not an uninhabited mountain. Packed in a separate compartment of the sack tied around his waist was the map he had obtained at the same time as the now damp cloak. It was rough and unfinished, but it was free, and could give him at least a small inkling as to where he was headed. The map and an instinctive and very acute natural sense of direction had always gotten him to where he needed to go.

He smelt the village long before he saw it, or rather, what was left of it. A warm current of air brought with it the scent of smoke as it lifted his light form higher into the air on the updraft. From this new vantage point, his hawk-like eyes could make out the wispy tendrils of smoke rising from a scorched parcel of forest that had once been the village he was looking for on his map. Talos locked his wings and glided at an angle that would bring him closer to the terrible remains. He circled the outskirts of what was left of the village, and noted with some revulsion that he wasn't the only bird in the sky; a flock of vultures had found their way to the grounds, and he suddenly became very very aware of the scent of rotting flesh rising up, mingled with the smoke. He winged himself to a higher altitude, making a larger circle around the area, looking perhaps for survivors, or maybe even the ones that had done this. He didn't carry the re-curve bow on his back and the arrows at his side for show, after all.

When he caught the barest glimpse of something moving in the woods that wasn't the local fauna, he descended, navigating through the tangled maze of tree branches reaching out to catch his wings with an expertise that came of repetitive occurrence. Landing softly, he quickly unstrapped the bow at his back and shuffled the pack from around his waist so that it settled comfortably between his tawny wings. Leaning the unstrung bow against his shoulder, he untied the thin leather strips that held his arrows together and ultimately kept them from falling out of the quiver when he was flying. A disastrous attempt to go without doing so when he had first gotten the bow had resulted in a day's worth of searching for his lost weapons. Lastly, he strung his bow, hooking the bowstring on one end before planting it firmly on the ground and using all the strength in his arms to bend the bow enough for him to hook the other end up.

Prepared for the worst, he headed in the direction that he'd seen the movement. It didn't take him long to find them... all of them, and it became very apparent very quickly that he was not up against the destroyers of the town just yet. They were refugees, and most certainly the kind that were weary and heartbroken, from the looks of things and the measly state of their camp. The people looked terrible, like they had been the subjects of a never ending nightmare from which they had awoken for but a brief moment. There were sniffles and coughs to be heard all around, accompanied by the soft weeping of women and children and the cry of a toddler or infant punctuating the symphony of misery. It was a sobering scene indeed, and Talos slipped his bow over his shoulder, sensing that there would be little need to use it against these people. If they reacted violently to his presence, he always had the dirk that was strapped to the leg opposite the side of his quiver, or could simply fly away.

His attention was quickly captured by another group making their appearance, approaching from the village side of the group of the refugees. Since he had not been spotted so far, Talos picked a hiding place behind a tree where he could watch the goings on without being seen himself... or well, at least not if you weren't looking properly in his direction. Listening closely, he managed to catch the very short speech of the woman that addressed the refugee group, though was unable to catch what her conversation was with the man in prelude her address to the public. At the mention of seeking out the dragons, he heard an uneasy mumble go up among the survivors of the village. Apparently, this notion was either unheard of or dangerous in nature, both options that spiked his interest. When nobody volunteered to accompany her right off the bat, Talos took a deep breath and revealed himself to the crowd, hoping that he didn't look as nervous as he felt.

"I'm notta local 'round these 'ere parts, but ifin I cun be o service ta ya', I'd be 'appy to 'elp." His noble intentions were probably swallowed in the depths of his atrocious hick-ish accent, but Talos tried his best to ignore the fact that everyone was most likely staring at him. He had never really been a very good public speaker.

A strange but strong accent spoke. It was not and accent of the Bel~Zeri people. She noticed a few of the people looking about, some of them began muttering words of a cursed being, some muttered stuff about stupidity. There was a few people who clapped a little for this being. Alaron started to look around for this person, finding them by their wings.

She started to move forward towards this person. The crowd of refugee's parted to make way for the female warrior. She walked towards the cloaked being with a meaningful stride. She stopped a meter away from the beings face. She looked at him kinda coldly, she did not know weather to trust the fellow, or to reject his enthusiasm that he showed.

"Well, You say you wish to help, yet you are foreign to these parts."
She said slowly, examining him. It was getting late, and vision was slowly deteriorating. She could see the wings on his back, it puzzled her a little. “What are you and who are you? I want to know before I take anyone on a long and important journey like this.” She forcefully enquired on this being. She shook her head and drew her hair back into a ponytail. Her striking gaze kept on this person. To her, he looked astonishingly cute. But no matter how cute a guy looked, She needed to keep her wits about her.

A owl hooted in the tree behind her, it showed the sign that night was approaching. Citizens in the city prepared a big bonfire in the area they were staying in. They had left the female warrior to talk with the stranger. “Also, I need to know why I should trust you, what skills you have, what weapons you specialize in, what you know, what you will bring on this quest and if your wings will slow us down.” She interrogated.

She wasn’t going without the correct answers. The survivors had now built a suitable bonfire and had got it lit. The warmth of the fire hit Alaron’s back as it flared up. She sighed at the familiar feeling, her body became a little relaxed, but she was still on edge.

‘if he attacks, then I’m ready. I do not trust him as of yet.’

Velvet heard the owl and she smiled as she continued watching these humans and saw another being with them with wings she was puzzled again, she jumped off her tree branch with a silent thump as she jumped onto the ground. She thought *Amylee I'm going to get closer to these humans.* Amylee replied *Ok Vel but be careful cause they might think and evil elf.* Velvet replied *True and I will Amylee.*

She stepped with silent steps closer to the humans' campsite as she saw them make a fire she was amazed by what they did so she got even closer, the dim moonlight hit her hair and it made it sparkle like full moon on some water. She cursed under her breath know the humans would spot her for sure now.

Amyleesaw Velvet's hair and she gasped softly knowing anybody would see Velvet now cause of the moonlight. She mindlinked *Vel be extra careful now please.* Velvet replied *I will Amylee, trust me i will.*

Talos had not thoroughly trained himself in hand-to-hand combat yet, he was still learning how to properly wield his bow! So, where a more experienced fighter than himself would have dropped his hand to the dirk at his side in preparation for a fight when the woman began advancing, he did not, probably to his benefit too. Instead, his only reaction to her confident advance was a straightening of the shoulders, making his already extremely tall frame look even a smidgen taller and tightening his grip on the bow still slung over his shoulders. Once she had stopped walking, he suddenly realized that the woman wasn't very tall. In fact, she seemed to be around the same height as his sister, Maivaisa, which made the blond avian a full head and shoulders taller than the warrior woman. Inwardly, he sighed. Yet another place where his conspicuous height could only possibly get him undue attention...

He didn't even consider that his heritage would further make his presence a dubious spectacle. He had grown up in a village where generations of his family before him had made all the locals aware of their presence, and caused them to be less likely to stare as a result. He had forgotten that his kind apparently wasn't very well-spread across the land, and existed only in small pockets of congregation. His musings gave the woman enough of a pause to continue her line of question, which further gave the avian something to think about. How should he go about replying to this very tense woman? It was obvious that she didn't trust him, and upon later consideration, he would have agreed that he wouldn't have trusted himself either, popping out of the woods and offering his services as he'd done.

Deciding quickly on a course of action, he began to talk, and this time tried a little harder to control the level of accent he allowed to slip through. "Ma'am, I'm a bird-man, or avian, from t'nothern parts o the country. I been wanderin' 'round, trainin' with m'bow." He gestured to the piece of equipment slung over his shoulder, consciously relaxing the grip that he had on it as he did so. "An the dirk here too, fer when shootin' sombody ain't an option no more. Ya see, I'm a journeymen of sorts, if ya get me, workin' my way up ta be a master bowmen. I migh'n be a stranger here, but it don't take a man with more'n half a brain to see that ya'll is sufferin', 'an if I can, I'd like to 'elp ya'll out. I was gonna just catch a place to rest fer a couple'a days before movin' on, but my purpose 'ere seems t'ave changed a bit."

Now avians, or at least the kind from his family, had razor sharp vision as a rule, able to see for miles when they were airborne... but only during the day. As the sun waned in the sky nightly, so too did their vision to the point that they could hardly see but a few yards in any direction clearly. The fires helped to keep him able to see, but with the sun dwindling on the horizon, Talos' depth of field very suddenly and predictably dropped a huge amount in the passing of a few moments. It was this fact that caused him to double take at a point in the darkening forest where he could have sworn to have seen movement. It was a a quick flash of light, like the glinting of metal in the fire light, but he could of sworn it came from the woods. It occurred to him at that point that he still hadn't told the woman his name, and slowly, he moved his weak eyesight from that spot in the forest to concentrate on the woman's face. "I'm sorry missus, I nearly forgot ta tell ya my name. You cun call me Talos, iffin you'd like."

The survivors were now gathered around the campfire, Some of them exchanging story’s of their “truly magnificent” and “Close to death” Escapes. Some of them were joking about, others were conversing about the future and how they plan to rebuild. The very young children were sitting on some of the mothers laps and sleeping through all the commotion. The teenagers were learning stuff off the warriors and the elders of the survivors. The communication and the commotion of the survivors went through the forest. This stirred some of the native beings and the native animals of the forest.

Alaron didn’t listen to any of the conversation’s that were going on, mentally blocking out all the noise. However, she kept one voice that allowed to go through to her brain. That of Talos, the avian. As he gave her information, she began to think. She would have to wait until the next day to begin her journey. Maybe a night in the forest I all she would need to gather enough people to take on the journey to the Shofikia mountain range to seek out the dragons. Maybe they wouldn’t find the dragons there, maybe they would have to travel beyond the mountains, or back towards the blackened town to take another route.

“Talos, is it? Well. It is nice to meet you. Avian? Never heard of them. Archer? Could be useful. I can give you training in archery” She said, ticking off the stuff he had heard. She pointed towards her quiver and bow that was on her back. Her quiver was ¾ full of arrows. She took off her bow and took a arrow from her quiver. Stinging the arrow on her bow, she drew back the string and looked around. A bunch of sparkles caught her eye. She took the string back one extra bit before she let the arrow fly. The arrow flew through the air and struck into the tree just above the sparkly being.

“I’m sorry about this”
She apologised to Talos before yelling out to the sparkles. “Hey, You! Out of the shadows, sparkly thing!” She yelled, giving Talos a glance that said that she was only doing her job. Her eyes caught a glance of Talos’s eyes and her heart skipped a beat. She mentally hit herself. ‘No.’ She thought before looking back to the sparkles. “Talos, Arm your weapon now. We may need to attack.”

‘I will not let my people get in danger with something that involves sparkles.’

"Well, thanke yeh kindly. Help would be welcome." Talos replied, finding himself offering the rather grim warrior woman a kind smile. Good deeds really did pay off, apparently. He'd always figured as much, but now it seemed that he was getting actual proof of the theory. He wasn't allowed to relax for long, however. It seemed the woman, whose name he realized he still did not know, had also caught sight of whatever it was that had attracted his attention previously. He watched as the woman strung her bow in a well-practiced motion, drew an arrow, sighted and fired. He didn't see the arrow fly as it leapt from her bow, his vision was too far gone by now to be able to track it's movement. His hearing, however, was not impaired by the darkness, and he could clearly hear the dull thunk of the arrow striking wood. So either she had missed on accident, or on purpose. He wasn't sure which one he perferred to think about.

Talos met her passing glance as he removed his bow from his shoulder, half a step ahead of her train of thought. His fingers brushed against the familliar feel of the feathers on his arrows, and withdrew one from his quiver quickly, knocking the arrow, though he did not yet draw. Until he saw a need to do so, he wouldn't be firing any shots into the blur of the forest. No matter how good his aim was during the day, it was no help at night when his sight was bad. "I'll jus' let ya do all the talkin' then, eh?" He muttered over his shoulder, trying to keep his voice light, but it had fallen to a lower pitch that signaled he meant business. Eyes locked to where he'd seen that flash of silver, his grip tightened slightly on th arrow between his fingers. "An this migh' be the wrong time to be askin', but wot do I call ya?"

Velvet giggled as she stepped from the shadows stringing her bow and she said back to the human girl she saw earlier "I'm not a sparkly thing thank you my name is Velvet Shadowheart, trust me i wouldn't dare hurt anyone unless they attacked me first." Her hair blew behind her as she walked and reveled her elven ears. Amylee gulped but kept hidden as she watched Velvet.

Velvet kept walking closer to the human girl and the new comer the moonlight making her hair glint like starts. She kept her bow strung just in case as she got closer she grabbed and arrow and placed it in the strung bow. Her brand mark showing slightly as the moon caught it.

Amylee wanted to get closer but she had a fair idea the human's would kill her or at least try to. Amylee stepped forward one step not making a sound.

Now was certainly not the time for the asking of her name, even though she should have said it before. It never occurred to her to introduce herself properly. ‘I guess I do need to work on addressing people’ she thought to herself as she kept her well trained eyes on the sparkles. As soon as the sparkles showed a being, an elf to be precise, she automatically grabbed another arrow and strung it onto the bow. Elves were certainly not to be trusted, especially in Bel~Zeri. As elves always lived in this forest and were dangerous as any other person that could wield a sword. Elves were also stealthy, they could camouflage themselves quite well. Alaron remembered some of her encounters with elves. None of them were pretty and she wasn’t about to trust this elf.

The awake members of the Bel~Zeri survivors began to draw closer together into a big group. The sight of this elf scared them. As they moved, little ones woke up screaming or they woke up questioning about the situation at hand. The Female survivors started to shush the children down. They didn’t want this elf to know of the little ones. If they did, they would be the first to go. Everyone in Bel~Zeri knew that the elves thought themselves superior to anyone else and that they wanted to be the only race that was anywhere close to the reptilian creatures known as the dragons.

The elves of the forest were always competing with many other races and kinds in the forest. They often fought with the orcs and poison sprites to keep their encampments and the control of their part of the river or to take over their encampments and their river space. Poison sprites would always come to try to exterminate the elves nightly, trying to poison them badly. However, with the large ears of the elves, they were able to hear them before being pinned. Some of the younger elves who hadn’t developed their hearing properly, were mostly the victims of the poison sprites. The wolves also gave the hunting squad of the Elves a lot of strife, taking their food before they got to either eat it or kill it. The surrounding griffins in the scattered mountains in the forest also came and attacked quite regularly. So the elves had adapted to stealing and deceiving the humans of the Bel~Zeri town.

So why should they trust this new elf that had just come into their encampment?

Alaron listened to what she had
to say. She pondered a little bit before breathing in and saying back to her, confidently “You say you wouldn’t attack someone unless they attacked you first? Well I fired an arrow at you before and purposely missed. So you say you attack when only fired upon, well I say that is wrong. Why should I trust you, your filthy kind have given us too much trouble before. Give me 2 reasons I shouldn’t execute you right now.” Her glare towards the female elf was strong and menacing. One that showed no mercy and it showed she meant every word she had said. She wasn’t going to put up with any trouble with the elven kind. Especially since the survivors were still getting over the fact that they don’t have homes anymore.

She then remembered Talos asking what her name was. Not breaking her gaze from the elvan being, she put her hand up to her mouth and curved it in the direction Talos was in. “You may call me Alaron. But I do prefer Ally, and yes. You chose the WRONG time to ask me for my name.” She whispered to him before dropping her hand and placing it on the arrow, that was clipped onto the string.

“So, Elven sparkle face, Please, do speak up. I don’t have all night.”

Velvet giggled and said "I do have name so if you kindly please call me Velvet, I can understand why your kind can't trust us, but I'm not anything like those evil elves i wouldn't hurt a fly at all let alone a human." Velvet heard the young humans but they didn't phase her. She mindlinked *Amylee I might just need your help soon.* Amylee replied *Ok Vel tell me when you need me.* Velvet replied *Will do Amylee.*

She rolled her eyes and strung her bow again and said "Maybe human but I wasn't anywhere near the arrow when you fired it." She smiled nicely showing her teeth, she so didn't want to get angry with this human, she would try and talk to her and consult the reason why they were near her home in the forest.

She stepped forward again getting that inch bit closer to this human still with her bow at the ready. She mindlinked *Amylee I think it would be safe for you to go home I'll keep in contact with you i promise.* Amylee replied *Ok Vel.* The dragon stepped silently towards their home deep in the forest.Velvet turned slightly and smiled and mindlinked *Thank you Amylee.*

Alaron snorted, Evil elves? There was no such thing. All elves were vile creatures that deserved to be punished. Even if they wouldn’t hurt a fly. She could see the elf had a arrow strung to her bow. Alaron then remembered her arrow on her bow. It was to be a bloody battle if any fighting came up. Alarons eyes looked at the elf in a piercing sort of way. Alaron wanted the elf to know she was not welcome at all.

“Not hurt a fly? Not hurt a human? HA! What other jokes have you got to tell to me tonight, Miss I’m a sparkly fairy. Pfft, I don’t believe a word of your elven nonsense. You kind are nothing but stealing, strife giving, Child killing creatures of hell. You think your kind to be above all others, and every other kind to be either your slaves. Oh and I forgot, you kill the other kind if they don’t obey you. You kill children, steal the food that we set out, Steal money and what little possessions we have. We are now nothing but poor and simple people who have to think about rebuilding our homes. All we get is an elf that has come along. You kind was never welcome in our town, and wont be welcome in our survival camp. Unless you can prove otherwise, we shall not trust you. By the way, you never gave me the 2 reasons why I shouldn’t execute you on the spot, so I’ll give you another chance on that” She yelled at the Elf. Her eyes were fuming, her heart was racing, she had said more then enough to this creature.

Alaron turned around to Talos and sighed. She walked past him and back to the log she was sitting at before. She flunked herself on the log and buried her head into her hands. Her shoulders started to shudder a bit before she released her head from her hands. Her brown hair was now strewn everywhere and not kept neat. She thought about tying it up, but she couldn’t be bothered. Her mind began to think over important things, such as finding the dragons, Protecting the survivors and slaying any thing that got in her way. She also thought about Talos and if he was trust worthy enough.

The survivors had looked at Alaron after she had yelled at the elf. Most of them were scared at what she was going to do next. Some of them thought she was going to engage in battle, others thought she was going to keep yelling at the elf, a few thought she was going to turn on her own friends. However, when they all saw her go to a log and sit down on it, some people sighed with relief. Others kept their eyes on Alaron and a few kept looking at the elf. No one spoke.

The cracks of the bonfire was heard loudly in the forest. No sound of talking was heard. Everything was silent for a long time.

Velvet listened again and growled softly under her breath. She looked at this human girl she then said as best as she could with out letting her anger out. "If you say so but have you ever actually seen any of my kind doing all that stuff you just told me? The two reasons why you shouldn't excute me is one I can lead to the dragon's home, the second is well because as I presume you think we are stronger then your kind, so I have a fair chance I could most likely hurt you a lot more then you could hurt me."

Velvet felt her anger building up which she knew her wings would spread out like they have done all her life. She was worried about her kind if these humans camp where they were camping they would most likely kill any of her kind as where their campsite was, is a direct route for the elves as they go on their daily walks which is what she was doing until she spotted the humans.

If Talos were allowed only one word to describe his feeling about the situation, it would have been overwhelmed. He'd never known of many elves in his life; his village was mostly comprised of humans with dragons flitting about the outskirts of the town, occasionally dropping in when something piqued their interest, usually during one of the solstice festivals. He'd never heard stories of elves being vicious creatures, but rationalized that where there were good elves there had to be bad elves as well, and it appeared as if they had settled down in this corner of the world.

All the same, it shocked him to hear Alaron's description of their race as her people saw it, and from the looks that the crowd of refugees, it seemed that she had embodied the feelings of everyone there. The elf's casual denial of the human's accusation put him off, but he still wasn't quite in the mood to trust her. Anybody entering an enemy camp after having been shot at and came out of hiding giggling either had a trick up their sleeve or had taken leave of their senses. Possibly both, and he didn't know enough about elf culture to try and decided which one was more probable.

The tension between the two women continued to build, almost a battle of wills, until Talos felt distinctly uncomfortable messing in what he perceived to be somebody's very private affair. He kept ready to shoot and fire, however, noting with a little distaste that even though the elf claimed to come in peace, she too had risen her bow to attack. Obviously, neither party was very good at peace talks. Suddenly, the tension seemed to snap, and Alaron gave ground in a frustrated manner, taking up a position on a near-by log, though still very ready to defend herself. The silence was deafening, and the avian had finally had enough of the back and forth, shoving his single arrow back in the quiver at his hip, though kept his bow on hand. Neither was going to resolve this, so he decided that it was high time he lent a voice of reason to the argument.

"No disrespectin' ya lady elf, but if ya'll're nearly as peaceful as ya claim, you'll put tcha'bow away 'an settle this like civilized people." His voice had taken a hard edge to it, no longer caring how much of his accent dribbled through, having confidence that he could get his message across despite the slight break in communication presented by his thick accent. "I'll be the first t'admit that I'm no local 'ere, 'an that I dunnit know mutch 'bout wot you two'ev gone through against each other, but I think I've gathered 'nough from your conversatin' ta know that it's pointless to stand 'ere shoutin' accusations and denials at each other all nigh'. We'll be 'ere forever, 'an there'll be blood." He looked between the two quickly, trying to judge their reactions to his little speech, but soldiered on regardless of what he saw in their faces. "Now, I 'dun 'ave to be a local t'know that these people," he gestured expansively with his free hand toward the refugees, "aren't in no condition ta be attacked again, 'an probably need all the 'elp that they can get. I dunno wot the dragons 'ave t'do with any o'this, but iffin it 'elps, then ya'll should talk 'bout it with yer weapons down." As if to prove his point, Talos made a show of slipping his bow over his shoulder and crossing his arms over his chest, showing that he had no wish to pick up his weapon again without due cause. "Your turn." He issued a challenging glare to both of the women, waiting for something to happen, his nerves secretly making him weak at the knees and light headed now. He really wasn't used to be a public speaker at all.

Velvet listened and did as this new figure had said. She took her arrow out and placed it back in its quiver trying to keep calm she then placed her bow over her shoulder and lent against a tree and said as gog as she could trying not to show her anger. "Ok I've done that." Her eyes glinted in the moonlight.

She pulled her hair forward and started playing with to show that she wouldn't use her bow unless necessarily. She mindlinked to Amylee *These humans think my kind are here to kill them, which you and I know is not what i would do.* Amylee replied *I know your wouldn't Vel, are you having problems keeping calm?* Velvet replied *That I am, I don't want to get angry and have my wings show, which then the humans and this other person will know I'm not a full elf.* Amylee replied *Exactly just try your best to keep calm.*

It was as if Alaron had finally snapped, she stood up quickly, threw her bow onto the ground, along with her arrow and shot a sharp glance at the elf. Her anger showing through like anything. Her eyes narrowed a lot as she advanced on the female elf, her stride was in an angry fashion. "Many of times I have seen your kind come into our town, and many of times have I heard a mother cry because a child has died and people chasing your kind because of stolen goods. I have seen your kind take out of the town stolen goods and I have rushed to the scene of a murdered child. Don't say that I have never seen you kind do such a thing, because I have. I believe that in my short 18 years of life I have seen much more devastation then you ever will." Her voice snarled at the elf. It was to show that she did give a damn about her people and that she wasn't about to forget everything to trust this elf. Her voice was going to start to quaver if she kept looking at the despicable creature.

Alaron turned around and put her back towards the elf. She stalked towards the log again. But deciding against sitting back down, she addressed the survivors. "I suggest you all go about your business again. Do not worry about this scum, I will have this handled. Children, stay with the women. Warriors, set up a perimeter around the encampment. We don't want any wayward creatures coming out at us." She instructed. The crowd nodded and started to go about their business again. Setting up who would go into which shelter for the night and who are to look after the children. The warriors organized who would go in which direction, and started to run in the direction they were assigned. The encampment started to run a little like clockwork.

Alaron turned back to the two new comers. The elf, known as Velvet, and Talos. She shook her head. She had no idea what to do now. She didn't trust this elf what so ever, and she was beginning to trust the avian. "Talos, go find yourself a shelter and rest. I'll talk to you I the morning. As for you, elf, Go find yourself a tree to sleep in. I'll make sure you are guarded throughout the night. I am weary, I need rest." she instructed to the two before telling two remaining warriors to keep and eye on the elf. She then walked close to the fire, bowed her head and whispered "Lord, you know what I must do to this day. If I forget thee, do not forget me."
Looking up the the sky, she saluted the stars, then got herself to lay on the ground. She lay, looking up to the stars.

The avian nodded stoically to the elf once, glad that he had convinced at least one of them to put down their weapons for now. He was a little startled, however, when Alaron came up out of her sitting position and threw her bow, not expecting such a violent reaction out of the woman. The enraged speech that followed, however, shocked the poor man into silence. It seemed that yes, things really were that bad between the two races. All the same, she had that fury under control in a matter of seconds, addressing her people once more with authority and force. She was still angry, he had no doubt about that, but it was a controlled sort of anger. Whats more, she was offering the elf, apparently her most hated enemy, shelter. That took a wealth of generosity that he was sure he wouldn't be able to conjure up in a time of need. He knew beyond a doubt that one of the Serenoa Clan had come to his door, he'd immediately shove a rotting bit of fish in their face and leave them to the wolves. The hatred between their two clans really did just run that deep.

Watching the woman walk away, Talos gave her a deep bow and muttered his thanks to her back, grateful for her show of generosity. She might not have trusted the two as individuals, but as a good person, she trusted the two of them not to rat out what was left of her struggling community or kill them all in their sleep. This realization moved him, and he took a moment to marvel over the gift before shrugging the pack off his his back, rummaging through it for his still damp cloak and snapped the material out in front of him. It didn't seem like it would rain tonight, so he figured that his wings would be enough to shelter him from the night's cold. Looking around, he began searching for somewhere to bed down for the night amongst the trees, a respectful distance from the group of humans huddling together for safety, his glance pausing once on the elf. "Seems that dis issa stressful time for all ya'll. I don't envy you."

A rustle in the bushes. The soft call of a sleepy wren. The lonesome call of a cricket. All of these noises sounded like thunder to Terrowin as he crept through the brush, keeping his head low and his breathing quiet. Before him, in a small clearing twenty feet away, a large buck was feeding, its massive antlers curling above its head like the wings of an eagle. As the young knight crept silently closer, he pulled out a swan-fletched arrow, expertly notching it against his yew bow. A few more feet closer, and a sparrow let out an alarm call. The buck immediately lifted its head and tilted its ears forward, freezing. Terrowin froze as well. The next second, the buck tensed and started to turn, attempting to escape to the cover of the trees. Without a second thought, Terrowin leaped out into the clearing and let the arrow fly.

He was lucky. The arrow managed to find the weak spot on the buck, right on the back of its neck. It gave a useless cry and fell to the ground, and was dead within a few seconds. Terrowin managed a grim smile, then walked over to where the carcass lay. It was large, but not so large that he couldn't carry by himself. Luckily, he wasn't very far from where the rest of his people were at.

Hefting the hindquarters of the animal over one shoulder, he slung his bow over the other and began the slow trek back. As he walked, he pondered over their situation. They needed help, badly. Everyone was low on food, and fresh, clean water was beginning to become scarce. This deer would be welcomed greedily, and many people would be able to get some relief of their hunger over a buck this size.

Eventually, Terrowin reached the edge of the forest. As he carried his kill into the clearing, he felt an odd sense of unease. He looked around, and saw Alaron by herself, away from the rest of the crowd. That was unusual. On further inspection, Terrowin noticed a fair silver-haired woman, an elf, by the looks of it. Farther off, he noticed a pair of wings too large for any bird. An Avian? He thought those were a myth. Unsettled, Terrowin went over to where the lady Alaron was laying. "My lady, I was successful on my hunt," he said quietly, placing the deer a few feet from where the young girl was resting. He watched her for a moment, concerned. Finally, he asked,"Is something wrong? I see creatures in here that I've only heard tales of." He glanced back at the elf, frowning. "And if I remember correctly, you were never extremely fond of the elven species." He pulled out a knife and started to clean the carcass, waiting to see if the woman would reply.

Rae hadn't been following Talos on purpose. Really. She had been wandering in the woods, hoping for some excitement, when she heard his (recognizable) voice. She remembered hearing about some sort of attack on a village not too far from where she lived, and she wondered if, perhaps, she had happened to stumble upon this town. From where she was standing, she couldn't see beyond the line of trees, but she could clearly hear the sound of voices. First she heard a female, calm, but firm, and then Talos's accent-filled drawl. She shook her head, suppressing a chuckle, when the female's voice rose and became a threatening shout. Finally, after Rae couldn't hold back her curiousity any longer, she leapt into a tree, using her tawny wings for balance. From her high perch, she swiftly ran along the branches of the trees until she reached the edge of the forest, then looked down at the scene below. There was the first female, and she was shouting at a silver-haired elf, something about killing and whatnot. She let her gaze wander, and she found the familiar pair of wings that belonged to Talos. She wanted to go and talk to him, to see what was going on, when he suddenly spoke. The two females seemed to back down, and then retreated to their own places, far away from each other.

After things had seemed to settle down, and a man had came out of the forest carrying a deer, Rae had taken the chance and floated down to where Talos had retreated to. She glanced around nervously, and saw a few confused and suspicious eyes aimed her way. She ducked behind some rubble, and then, when she was out of sight of most of the humans, she turned and practically pounced on Talos. "What is going on here?" she whispered fiercely, but not angrily. She didn't think for a moment that Talos might suspect that she was following him. "I heard voices, and then I came here, and you were conversing with these... Humans." She looked back at where most of the crowd was resting, then turned back to him. "Well, whatever it is, if you're helping them, then I want in on it." Her bright green eyes gleamed with both curiousity and excitement. She had never been on a proper adventure before, and it was about time too!

Rae then proceeded to pull her long brown braid more tightly against her scalp, then pulled out her weapon: a long, slender staff, mottled and dented with use. On each end protruded a sharp, double-sided blade, like that you would find on a sword, yet the size of a knife. She then glanced back up at Talos and grinned, even though he hadn't yet said a word.

A rustle, and then a smell of fresh blood. Then a male voice. 'Ah yes. Terrowin has returned successful' She thought before looking up to the male, who had talked to her. "Ah Terrowin, Its nice to see your back and with food we can consume. The children have been put to bed, and the adults are about to follow suit, I think the beast will be welcomed for breakfast. It should be ok until then." She said, making decisions about the food that had come to them. Of course, it should be good in the morning. many a time have they had to leave a beast until morning. the moonlight twinkled on her eyes and she kept them open.

"Yes, creatures you have heard in tales. I have never heard of the avian race before. However, we have encounted the elvern race before. You are correct, I do not like the elvern race. I have two warriors taking guard over her, so she doesn't escape. I have had a massive go at her as well. I suggest you not worry about the elf. However, The Avian... I'm beginning to think about trusting him, he is seems like a nice man." Alaron rounded up about the two people. Before she could open her mouth again, she heard another voice, a hurried whispered one. She got up and looked to Talos. Another avian had appeared. A female too. She shook her head. "Terrowin, keep an eye on the survivors. I'm Going to see about this new Avian that has appeared." She whispered to the survivor. She got up and stalked over to Talos and this new Avian.

"So, who may you be, Avian?" She addressed the female avian. Her eyes softened a little. Alaron realised her fondness for the avian kind was growing. They were beautiful, graceful and they could fly. She smiled to her and looked at Talos. "Do you know her?" She asked Talos before awaiting the reply from the two.

'Its going to be a long night.... I wont get much rest at all.'

He didn't hear the girl running for him until the last possible second, her light footfalls alerting him to her presence. Turning, Talos took a split second to recognize the rush of wings and deciding that it wasn't a threat, keeping his dirk sheathed and a grin broke out over his face. "Rae!" He automatically reached forward to pull the girl into a hug, resisting the urge to mess up her hair as he was custom for him to do with any of his other younger siblings, male or female. His smiled died a little when she asked of the fate of the village, but couldn't help but stay light hearted. The last thing had had ever expected was to see a friend of the family appear in these woods so far from home and under such a cloud of melancholy that was prevalent amongst the survivors here. "Well, I wasn't 'ere when it happened, but it looks like there'alls village 'az been attacked and burned t'the ground." He replied, gesturing toward the bonfire and the people that surrounded it, huddling together for warmth and protection. He had no fear that Rae might not understand him with his thick accent, she had been around the Estoen family and their peculiar way of speaking for too long to be confused by their dialect. "I dun really know what all is goin' on now... I 'spose that we're settlin' down for the night... But wot in the blazes are you doin' 'ere? 'An why would you wanna be treckin' through the country side? This migh' get dangerous, Rae, 'an iffin I 'ad to retun ya to ya'll's parents 'alf dead, they'd never be forgivin' me." His voice turned serious, not at all afraid to show the girl how worried he was for her safety. She was one of the family, and his protective streak wouldn't allow him to let any harm to come to a family member under his watch if he could help it.

Once again, he heard someone approaching before he saw them, his vision limited to about five feet now with darkness surrounding them. He turned to see Alaron walking over, and gave the warrior woman a small nod of respect for her presence. "Rae is a friend of the family." Talos replied, flashing a quick smile from the avian girl and then quickly to Alaron. "I've known her for a long time."

Terrowin smiled at Alaron. "Yes, I was suspecting that it would be too late to do anything with the buck now. However, I'll go ahead and prepare it for the morning." As he spoke, he started skinning the animal with practiced ease, and then silently nodded at Alaron's words.

"I haven't had any encounter before with the elven race, although I do know that they've been rumored to steal and plunder from the village when it was... Well..." He fell silent, grimacing. After a moment, he shook his head, then continued. "Anyway, the Avian race I have heard of. In fact..." He paused, biting his lip. He hadn't told her that he had, in fact, met a female Avian once, and he didn't plan on it. He didn't want to admit that he had been speaking with a different race, one that Alaron didn't seem to completely trust yet. However, when he followed her gaze, he couldn't help but utter a small gasp.

It was the female Avian he had met before. It was quite a while ago, and a chance circumstance, but he recognized her instantly. Her mahogany-colored hair was longer, and this time pulled back in a braid, instead of loose and flowing, as when he had met her. She still had the same pale skin, and the piercing eyes of a hawk. She was wearing a simple tunic and man-like leggings, and yet she still managed to look feminine and graceful. It was her wings, though, that caught his gaze. Large and feathered, they were the color of polished oak, and speckled with darker flecks of chesnut. He stared for a moment, awestruck, and then managed to stand and follow Alaron to the two feathered creatures, ignoring her instructions to stay with the other survivors.

He was about to greet her when he realized that she was the only other one there that knew they had met. He paused, then, wondering what would be the consequence if he gave that away. He decided to wait patiently, hoping that he would get the chance to ask why she was here, so far from where they had met at the other side of the forest.

As the male Avian, Talos, introduced Rae, Terrowin chanced a friendly nod at her. He quietly added,"Hello friends, my name is Terrowin. I assume that Alaron has already told you about our... Predicament?" As he spoke, he had to try hard not to let his gaze keep falling on Rae.

--------------

Rae laughed as she was pulled into the hug, and was glad that he hadn't found the urge to mess up her hair as usual.

She turned more sober when he started talking about the village. "I heard rumors of an attack not too long ago," she replied, looking over the ruined village. The air smelled like burnt meat and charcoal, and she suppressed a shudder. She was glad that it wasn't her home that had been attacked. She continued,"It appears as if the people have lost hope. The atmosphere when I came into the village was... Well, depressing." She didn't let herself look over at a pile of carcasses that were laying a ways off in the distance.

When he started questioning her, she lightened up again, rolling her eyes in amusement. "Talos, you don't need to treat me like I'm a child!" she complained, laughing and shoving him playfully. "In case you had forgotten, I'm very much an adult now." Rae never could stay somber for long, no matter what the circumstance. It just wasn't in her nature. "I was just wandering out in the woods. You know how I can't stay in one place for long. I had gotten bored listening to the same old things day in and day out, and so I decided to search for an adventure. And what d'ya know? I found one!"

She felt her heart tug as he spoke of her safety; it was obvious that he cared for her deeply, as she did for him, and she let herself be scolded. "My parents know I'm out here, don't you worry yourself," she said quietly. She was about to say more when the female human that she had seen earlier appeared. She let Talos introduce her, then dipped her head in courtesy. "I'm terribley sorry about what happened to your village," she murmured, looking back up. The woman appeared about the same age as Rae, and yet she had the hardened gaze of someone much older. "I would like to help you, if you will take me." She glance at Talos. "And you may need me to keep an eye on Talos. He can get a little wild, and you might need me to keep him focused." She winked at her friend, grinning, but tightened her hold on her weapon in case this woman decided she wasn't trustworthy.

As she looked back at the woman, a man came into view, and Rae blinked in surprise. She knew him. They had met a while ago, when she was practicing her flying far from home, and he had been in the woods, tracking a herd of deer. They had instantly connected, and thought they had departed on friendly terms, she had never expected to see him again. Terrowin. She expected him to greet her, as she could tell that he, too, recognized her, but he kept quiet. She wondered if he needed to keep Alaron's trust by not giving away their relationship.

The night air was cool on Kol’s face, silently smoothing over his wings and filling him with a sense of freedom as he lazily drifted southward. The stars glittered above him like millions of gems, the darkness of the night wrapping the avian in a blanket of calm solitude. He had been to this area of the mountains before, visiting on one of his many journeys across the land. He remembered that there was a small town nestled in the cradle of the mountains somewhere around here, a peaceful village with a river running through it. His last visit here was in the summer when many children could be seen playing happily on the banks of the river’s edge, screaming in delight as they romped through the cool waters playing a game of tag. The forest gave off a comforting scent that reminded him of home, a faint hint of pine and maple wafting up at him on the breezes of the night. Surrounded as he was by the peaceful scenery, a sense of calm enveloped Kol in its warm embrace.

His peaceful flight was soon brought to an end as he stumbled upon the town he had once so admired for its tranquility and beauty. It had been reduced to a wasteland of ash, the overwhelming scent of charred flesh and blood replacing the peaceful scent of the pine. He had to cover his noise to keep his rolling stomach at bay, every sense screaming with disgust. While the instinct to look for survivors tugged at him, he knew very well that if he went any lower he would be sick because of the overwhelming smell. As he looked back onto the horizon, black smoke filled the air, blotting out the stars that had shown so brightly in every other direction. Out of curiosity he flew a little closer, his sleeve clamped thoroughly over his nose, careful not to fly too close to the center of the town, where the stench was the worst. His circling flight took him on an expanding route over the town, deeper into the forest. Perhaps some survivors had made it there?

He saw a small open field. However on closer inspection there were people on the ground. A slow realization hit him as he looked at this group. He knew one of the people that were on the ground. Talos. His most hated enemy of several generations. Rage swept through Kol like wild fire. His vision narrowed to only see this man. Every muscle in his body burned with adrenaline that only gave fuel to his wrath. Out of the pure dark emotions swirling inside of him, Kol tore at his shirt ripping it clean from his body. Sweat beaded not only his forehead but down his chiseled chest and abdomen. The moment the two shredded pieces of cloth that were once his shirt were released from his hands, Kol made his dizzying descent toward the Earth.

In his blind fury, Kol had angled in too close to the fire and instead of pulling back he hastened his flight towards the flames. He dashed through the flames straight toward Talos. Small fires had sprung to life on the tips of Kol’s wings giving him more a demonic look. He gave out one, very loud battle cry as he came close to the avian and reached out to grab him. His hand managed to only grab the cloth of his shirt and rip it off his own chest. As he passed in a span of a few moments he yelled out, “Take THAT you poor excuse for an avian!!”

He shook the new pieces of cloth in his hands with a look of pure victory on his face. While it wasn’t what he intended, it at the very least was something to show his clan back home that the dirty hicks could not one up him. Even if the battle was a little one-sided…and unfair…and lasted for only a couple of seconds. But the details were not always important. This would give them hope and the leadership status he needed to keep peace within his clan.

As he ascended back into the night sky Kol let out a sigh of contentment. Only when he go to wipe the sweat from his brow, did he notice that over half of his left brow was missing. Damn fire.

(P.S. - Kol is not actually this crazy...)

Alaron nodded at the decision Terrowin had made, but unfortunately it was short lived when her came over to her and the two Avians. Talos introduced the female avian, under the name Rae. Alaron nodded as she started to talk to her about joining the cause to find the dragons and everything. Terrowin, then introduced himself. This was giving Alaron less and less time to speak as it seemed converstation began to flow. She shook her dirty and stewn hair and put her hand over her eyes. "OK! my time to talk. Thankyou for introducing me, Terrowin. Rae, I am Alaron. It seems now i am master warrior of these parts of land. Your eager to join my cause, however, I do not trust easilly. There is an elf nearby in custordy with a few of my warriors. I am sure Talos can look afte...." Her words were cut short.

A battle cry was head from above, the shooting down of an object came and the words of "Take THAT you poor excuse of an Avian." was sounded. As quick as she knew it, the figure came down. It was flaming like a phoenix. The figure took hold of Talos and the ripped its arm upwards, ripping the avians shirt off him. Alaron watched, speachless. She reached to grab her bow, but realised she left it on the ground, where she threw it. 'Oh no... im bowless, i cannot defend!' she thought, slightly panicing. She then watched the figure shoot back into the sky with Talos's shirt. She looked between all the personelle that was around her and then back to the sky. "What the HELL was that thing?" She asked, her voice quavering at the shock that had been put on her.

She then tryed reaching for her bow again. However, she remembered again and ran off to grab it. She bent down and picked up the bow, it only had a few scratches on it as she examined. She straightened herself up and started walking to the group again. Her steps were a little shaky and not as strong as before. her whole body was still shaking from the ordeal that had just happened.

Reaching the group, the terror from this being showed in her eyes. Alaron was hellbent on thinking this being was a phoenix, or a flaming dragon. But whatever it was, it took Talos's shirt. Giving a sigh of relief that it was gone, she tryed to calm herself. The shape of the being though, was etched into her mind. A large winged being that showed no mercy.

Talos was about to elbow Rae in the side playfully for her comment, knowing that Alaron didn't trust strangers easily, and a little afraid that the woman would take Rae's playful comment the wrong way. However, in the midst of preparing a verbal rebuttal and assuring Alaron that he really wasn't the troublemaker Rae would make him out to be, his concentration was broken by a sound. Distant at first, but growing closer and louder with worrying speed. He saw a flash of fire and spun toward the movement, unable to see the fiery winged figure speeding in his direction with his limited night vision. It took him completely by surprise then when he felt the sudden impact of hands on his chest, gripping the material there tightly and yanking with all of their strength and momentum combined. Fabric ripped all around him, and he found himself suddenly facing the other direction and off balance, the coolness of the night air brushing his skin now that he no longer had any fabric covering his torso. The last insult thrown back at him "Take THAT you poor excuse of an Avian" was that of a voice he recognized, and anger boiled up suddenly and explosively within him, wishing that he had his sight still so that he could shoot at the offender.

Instead, he would have to settle for raising his fist to the night sky, staring blindly in the direction that he had last hear the voice. "DAMN YOU KOL! You 'an your Serenoa SCUM will pay fer this!" He screamed into the night sky, all the feathers in his wings bristling with the anger that he felt. His face a dark mask of anger, he stared at the night sky for a while longer before turning back around, trying to settle down again, a faint blush on his face with embarrassment. One, because he had shown such anger in front of people he didn't know, and two because his whole upper body was exposed for everyone to see in all of its rather normal glory. He had some development in the arms and upper chest from repeatedly pulling back on the heavy draw weight of his bow, which had given him his broad-shouldered appearance in the first place. However, he hadn't been practicing with it enough to have an enormous amount of muscle... nobody would be using his abs as a washboard anytime soon. "I'm sorry ya'll 'ad to see that ugliness... Them damn Serenoa fools think it's righ' funny to harass people from m'family... We've been fightin' fer as long 'as anyone cun remember." He glanced once more toward the night sky, checking to make sure that nothing else of his had been stolen in the lightning quick attack. "I dun think that t'bastard'll be back anytime soon though... not if 'e knows wots good for 'im."
