Rules:
You should all know the rules, if you don't, then please read here.

Plot:
Everybody has to take their path in life, everybody has to follow their own destiny for themselves, without help. But what if destiny forces you to undertake adventures you don't want to experience or thought you'd never have the chance to live through all your life? What if you temper with your fate and try to alter the path that has been set for you? What happens when you play with other people's lives for that matter? Will it affect your own? And how bad can it get after you've done your first kill? How worse can it be if you do it again? After all, your life might already be screwed up anyway, so why care if you add another crime to the never ending list? It's not like you're ever going to be able to get out of that one anymore anyway..
Though what could possibly happen if two assassins meet each other without knowing who they actually are is a completely different matter... Maybe it will be the day of the apocalypse? Maybe they will have to face the hardest choice of their life? Maybe they'll simply go on doing what they do best without any consideration whatsoever for the consequences? They never did before, so why now?

Setting:
A big city, very crowded in late afternoon. People scurrying around like little ants, though everybody individually, trying to do their thing. A bee hive in panic. People bumping into each other, shouting each other. The city is full of dark alleys, dark corners, hardly anybody dares to venture in, if they do, most end up their by mistake, having lost orientation in the masses. Creatures of all sorts are finalising their errands before diner and before darkness lays its shadow over everything and turns the city into an even darker place than it already is in some parts.
To the north, there are mountains. To the east, there is a forest with several little hunting lodges and a few inns scattered here and there to make life easier on the business travelers that come through. To the west, moor and to the south, plains as far as the eyes can see.

"Why am I here?" The being mutterd, walking through the crowds. Indeed a great question for him to ask himself at the time. Then again, he had aleways asked such questions to himself. Him a bit peculiar.... he looked almost every bit like a human. One whom wasnt too bright would think him one immediately and forever. Though he would nevetr tell that there was much more to him of course. But why ruin it? His identity and his hiden features were what truly made him.

He stepped lightly and calmly amoung the people around him. Not seeming to notice or care over them at all. Why should he? He did not have any to look for at the time. Thus he was fine to do as he wished. Until he was called upon of course. His reddish eyes, them seeming calm and held together well, swept briefly about. White hair hung down slightly past his ears, never kept any longer. His body built and muscular. But not too much so, to where it would get in the way. Him indeed kept very fit. His long black coat moved very slightly, his strides smooth and seeming almost timed. Of course Xavien knew where he was heading.

Probably the only real thing someone would think odd about him was the huge sword across his back. It wasnt uncommong to see small weapons on everyone, but this sword was as long as he was, if not longer. It looked very heavy too..... though one wouldnt know, for Xavien wouldnt tell. He kept things to himself. Not one to talk or converse much at all, his loneliness to him, a blessing. He had to keep it that way of course. One wrong move or word his life could be over Him of course not one who aged, but still weapons and things could stop his life from pumping. Thus he kept on guard, even if he had good skill.

He gave a small sigh, his hands in his deep pickets as he finally found a small, little ran down place. Walking inside silently, and merely nodding to the keeper, who handed him a drink. He was well known there by face, him one to stop in quite often. Why wouldnt he go somewhere nice and homely for a small drink? Listen to the towns' gossip, learn things he really did not need to know, but were interesting anyway. For usually Xavien had nothing better to do..... it was amazing he still lived well, his pocket money had to be small, with whatever he did to make it. For he did not seem to work too much at all. In fact none in the town had seen him do anything at all, which made many wonder.....

But of course Xavien had a way to live. Though it might not be too profitable at the time, not with people seeming to just kill one another themselves. hus leaving someone like him out of business. Granted it was peaceful, aside from having to dodge those who knew him, or tried to kill him himself, but still, it did get monotonous. Plus he would admit his pocket change was very low. Xavien might kill for his pay, but he hated, no detested... stealing things. Something which he would not do, not at all. For to him such was simply low and dishonorable......

He sighed softly, sipping his drink, it a mild one. Xavien not one to become trashed. He couldnt do so, not wanting to reveal anything. He simpy sat there, listening to the word of the town. No one saying anything too interesting really. His shoulders rolled slightly, and he swpt the place with his eyes, taking the small crowd in. Hearing the bell attached to the door chime off, it sounding like someone walked in. But he wasnt paying too good of attention, so who could know........

It has become a routine to walk in the shadows, moving unobserved from everybody else's eyes. Sometimes people gave a start when she suddenly appeared next to them without them having heard or seen anybody move in their vicinity. Her line of work required this skill and it had come in handy many times, not only work-related. Siofra had known how to blend in with her background from her childhood onwards already. Having learned this the hard way. Being a half-elf, she was considered to be different, even though her outer appearance did not reveal much of that fact. It was more her family situation that upset several towns people at the time. The elven father, whom Siofra had never met, had left the human mother alone with the children. Thus, she was almost looked upon as an outsider, as she was the one that had married somebody different and she was the single mother, having to take care of her living on her own.

Siofra didn't like thinking about those days. There had been a lot of good times, memories she cherished, but she wanted to forget the bad ones, sometimes feeling the urge for revenge take over. Though, that had mostly been burned out as well after her brother's death. Despite their differences, she had loved him and his loss had come as a dreadful shock to her. The circumstances around his death were never explained and she still thought that there was something mysterious, something that was not quite right about the whole situation, but she hadn't been able to prove it at the time and numbness had taken her over. She had stopped caring about mostly everything in her life and had somehow ended up doing the dirty jobs nobody else wanted to do.

Cursing, she made her way through the crowds now, despising the fact that they all seemed to be busy showing their importance and bumping into everyone instead of simply dodging and avoiding others. The hood of her dark cloak was pushed deep into her face, hiding her pale features, the green eyes and the long wavy read hair. Foremost, she used the cloak in the city to conceal her weapons, the sword and dagger which were strapped on her belt. She treasured the sheath of the sword as it had been a gift of her brother. Handmade and beautiful. However, she could not hide her bow and quiver that were strapped to her back, but at least it kept unpleasant people off her back. She needed her distance, still often feeling uncomfortable around people, though she was good at hiding it most of the time.

"Is there no inn or something in this dragon forsaken place?" she muttered under her breath. It had been several long days of travel and she was starting to be grumpy with a lack of sleep and dissatisfaction with her current situation. Not to mention the job. It payed well what she did, yes, but hell, it was annoying sometimes. At least there was a little variation, traveling and getting to know various people. Not like she made a lot of friends, but contacts were good to have in certain places, even required, especially when having to acquire certain artifacts - which would be one way of putting it.

Finally, she spotted an almost completely hidden sign of a not all too flattering looking but by now she wasn't fussy anymore. She needed a drink, some food and most of all a bed. It was rare that she drank, but when she did, it was a sign of how crap she really felt. Almost falling into the inn, she grumbled at the annoying sound of the doorbell, heading straight to the bar in her tired pace, ordering a drink, only to move on towards a table in the corner. No matter how exhausted she was though, she did not miss the other people that were around. Few people were scattered throughout the bar, but only one to catch her eye... And before she could help it, she was staring, more intently then she had intended. Thus, she quickly averted her eyes, examining the surface of the table until the barkeeper served her the longed for drink.

Xavien looked briefly of course, though his mind did not really grasp to her. Why would it? Everyone to him was almost the same. Whether they be a target or just there. He had no concerns with the world really, unless he made himself involved. He liked being that way, it simplified things by a great number of times for him. Her frame came and went through his mind, not at all someting he would really usually think about. His interest in the opposite gender, or even a friend itself was next to none. Simply he kept alone, for he couldnt afford to waver. Not to friendship, not to love, not to......not to anyting. Though quite a few put eyes upon him. It seemed a tall, strong and mysterious stranger could indeed attract some eyes. But always they were ignored. He simply did not have the time or heart to keep one or offer.

He looked to his side, watching and hearing an elder couple. His mind drifting off a bit in though... though he looked away, seeing the elder female looked at his huge sword ad gasp. He wanted no questions over it.... He had been given it by his Father, and it was the only thing he had ever kept that his Father had given him. He despised his Father deeply..... his Mother too. He hated what they liked to do and their ideals....... He wasnt made for it. Thus he simply killed them and went on. Best way to take care of someone you dont like n Xaviens' opinion: Erase their existance. A simple and quick answer. Quick and simple.... if only thre whole world were like that. Then perhaps he wouldnt have half the problems he did.

Xavien gave a gentle sigh, sitting there. Hearing something trivial, that really made no sense to him of course. He saw another looking at his huge blade too. Well it wouldnt look so strange if they were stronger and could handle carrying such a weapon. Of course for what he did this was a most unorthodox weapon. So one would think. Xavien wasnt afraid to make a mess, simply put. He was unknown truly to almost everyone, thus making a mess wasnt too consequential to him. Xavien sighed though, seeing his drink finally depleted. Well that was nothing to take care of really.

He stood slowly, hearing more. Though now a few had turned to talking about him and the huge weapon. He pretended not to hear or pay attention. If things got out of hand he would leave, simply put. He didnt need conflict at the time, nor wanted it. His thought drifted back to his last job. He still had to go and collect the reward for it..... that poor mage had not known what to do with himself when Xavien came for him. Magic.... well Xavien knew how to do a good bit of that too. Thus it had phased him none. He went to the keeper, standing beside the female that had just came in not long ago. In fact exchanging some words with him. Well they talked a bit often, The barkeeper one who knew a hell of alot more than he let on. Thus of course Xavien talked often to him. It paid to have known people in odd places. Though soon ehough Xavien had his drink again which he went and sat down with. Avoiding staring eyes a bit as he just sat in silence.......

It didn't happen too often that she was staring shamelessly and feeling a pang of guilt about it. Usually, she had quite an appraising look, taking in a lot of details of people without caring how they felt about it, like a cat eyeing the mouse in front of its nose, trying to decide whether it would be something to swallow and spit right back out or something she could toy with longer. Though there definitely was something intriguing about that man. And it was not only because he had a really, very large sword strapped to his back. That was not even the thing she was curious about, no, it was the aura she had felt when he had stood next to her at the bar. It had made her wonder about the character behind the masquerade...

A slight smile was given to the barkeeper as a thank you for the drink and then she concentrated back on her surroundings, the cold look returning to her features. She was still a little insecure about being back on the job. The last one had been somewhat of a mistake and she had gotten into hell of a lot of trouble because of it, barely escaping death for the first time in a very long time. It had been too close, and too many complications. She had been on leave for several weeks, trying to get her spirits back together and the means to focus on the important things on the job but images kept flashing back, memories, thoughts that she had tried to repress for so long. At some point, it had all started to fall back into place and she took on several easy jobs to warm up again. Now, she was here..

The growing whispers of the people around her shook her up from her own musings, making her wonder why they were all so freaked out by the appearance of the man at the bar. Yes, he was impressive, considering his posture and the sword, but he was not that unusual a sight. Or was he? To her, he certainly didn't seem too extraordinary, cold and calculating yes, but he obviously liked huge weapons, so what? However, the curiosity of everybody else, the whispers behind his back and so many people putting their heads together, once in a while casting a quick glance into his general direction, made her want to find out more herself.

The white hair had struck her about his appearance, as it was a rather unusual colour amongst humans, which in consequence, made her believe that he was not human, or at least not entirely. The long floating coat, of course, added to the special atmosphere he seemed to be creating around himself. The style was something she had come across several times, and the people wearing similar clothes had never been part of the 'good' people, if anybody was entirely good anyway, no matter how that was defined. Overly good was boring, nobody likes playing with lambs, at least not for long.

Maybe the barkeeper knows something... It doesn't look like it's the first time they're meeting, Siofra considered getting up that second to find out more, but couldn't really ask the barkeeper about his popular guest when he was still conversing with that specific person. She downed the rest of her drink, that had been rather empty by then anyway, only to have an excuse to get up and walk over to the bar again. Maybe she could snap up some pieces of the discussion while ordering another drink. As soon as she had had the idea, she was already moving towards the two, silently, casually leaning against the bar, close enough to be able to hold a knife to the stranger's throat without moving - not like she wanted to do so, but it was always nice to know you had the option to defend yourself without big efforts - and looking expectantly at both of them.

Xaviel gave a gentl yawn. Him talking absentmindedly a bit to the tender. Well he didnt say too much out of the ordinary. Merely asking how the bartenders' family was doing in fact. THem fairly good friends, one of very few Xavien trusted and would talk with. He had been coming here a long time, and always hd been served by this one, thus well... a kind of bond happened after a while. It indeed proved useful in a great amount of ways alot of the time too. He wouldn't deny that.... the tender always had the gossip and the information someone wanted t know. Indeed a good thing.

However as he spoke, his mind caught a fluctuation near him. Someone here was no at all normal.... Though Xavien didn't look back at the female near him, he could plainly feel her there. She was close to him too...... dangerously so. He felt the shurikens at his side loose on their hooks..... if she tried anythin she would not get far. But she ineed intrigued him. He would not deny that, she felt so strange and out of place here, even if she looked almost normal. It almost reminded him of....himself in fact. But he still wasnt sure of things...... His mind wanting to investigate her more. He frowned a bit, but didnt immediately go for it.

After another drink though, he did finally. His gaze turning to her. But he said absolutely nothing. Well he knew how to appeal to the opposite gender and things. He knew how to spark curiousity. Him no good at anything beyond curiousity really but..... it was enough. He stood there simply, his gaze swept pover her once, then he looked out at the crowd. Seeing them whisper.. .they thought him dangerous and things here..... well it wasnt uncommon to be thought of that way, not for Xavien. He cricked his nek a little, and just sipped at it. Waiting upon that almost inevitable greeitng and things. Knowing indeed how to move someones' mind..... and not even do too much to get it going...... no he wanst trying to attract her, but knew she would wannt to know more about him maybe.... thus in turn he would learn more of her. An easy enough chain to keep up......

Trying not too obviously to observe, she couldn't help but find herself staring once in a while. The character was simply too intriguing not to look, even to someone who had seen a great variety of strange or simply unusual people. The masses were what made her yawn, everybody looking the same, acting the same. Now that she was closer, she felt weird - the whole situation was almost surreal. There they were, two completely strangers, completely different but yet so similar considering the fact that they were both sticking out in their own way and not blending in with their surroundings.

Siofra almost wanted to shake her head, but didn't want to make too sudden a movement, in case he thought she was going for him. No need to start a fight over a stupid gesture. Instead, she turned herself completely towards the barkeeper and asked for another drink. Somehow she would not get the information she wanted out of him with the other person standing next to her and talking to the barkeeper. But curiosity was slowly beginning to nag, she wanted to know what this weird aura had to say, what his purpose was. Even though she was very close, she didn't get any of the conversation. So far her ears had rarely disappointed her, but there were too many background noises on top op the fact that the stranger and the barkeeper were barely talking out loud.

The half-elf frowned, wondering what she should do. Consequently, she was staring into her drink, frozen in place, and only the slight heaving of stomach and chest showed that she had not died on the spot. This hadn't happened to her in quite a while, not knowing how to open a conversation. Usually she simply asked what she wanted to know straightforward or people started to spill the beans on their own when they noticed she was observing them closely. It was different this time though. The stranger was not like most people she usually wanted to know more about, which made it harder to not sound like a complete moron or like everybody else when asking why he was carrying such a large sword with him.

Xavien froned a bit. His gaze swpt over her once more... ahh he could tell she was trying to seem not to pay him any mind. But well, that had already been observed by him. Though really..... he didn't press the issue. No, what use was there in taking it further? She wasn't truly bothering him, he wasn't going to bother her. For there simply was no good reason to do so. Yes she wasindeed intriguing but Xavienwas one who felt little for curiousity. He was much older than he looked, and he had seen much in his time already.... Thus she was simply an abnormal face to his mind.

The tender asked him for another drink, which Xavien refused. Well he had gleaned all the informatin he needed truly..... thus staying there was just a waste of his time. Him not one to stop to enjoy things at all really..... he just did what he had to simply, and then almost went dormant, or started somehing else. He stood slowly, giving his good-byes to hte bartender. Then adjusted that huge blade at his back, so he wouldnt be off balance. Him standing there for a few seconds. Looking over the crowd in fact, not caring too much of their stares back at him. Some seeming terrified, likely for good reason.

His sights went upon the odd, half-elven after a few seconds once more. They lingered upon her, though not for too long. Her in his mind moreso now. Well one like ehr was rarely seen, thus it was a wonder as to why she could be there. But many types somehow ended up in that place time to time... thus he figured it just an odd day. His gaze finally hitting the door.... his eyes sifted a bit, slits showing briefly, then regular eyes once more. He then just made his way to the door at a normal pace, his sensory sweeping about a bit. Him likely simply going to just go to his little place he had in this town...... it small and nothing special, disguised as a meager pawn shop in fact. He opened the door quite swiftly, and stepped into the cool night air... finding it warmer than a human would, but his blood ran hotter than most did, especially in this part of the worlds.....

PostSubject: Re: A most intriguing task(Kevvx X Eldarwen)   A most intriguing task(Kevvx X Eldarwen) Icon_minitimeTue Feb 10, 2009 11:50 am

It was slowly but steadily beginning to annoy her that she was on the brink of feeling and behaving like a little school girl, though there was nothing she could do except for finally burst out with some kind of banter. That, however, was not what she wanted to do. She wanted to come across as somewhat more sophisticated than a teen with a crush, and at that moment in time, there was nothing, her brain had gone blank. Odd. Maybe she should take it as a hint and simply drop this instead of sincerely making a fool out of herself?

Ordering another drink, she was considering retiring to her table. It was not hard to see that he was probably as much intrigued by her as she was by him, but none of them seemed to be willing to make the first step into a conversation. Or at least relief their curiosity with one or two questions and then let it be. Somehow, it seemed as if there was a barrier. And then, the stranger got ready to leave. Siofra almost wanted to shudder under his glance, but instead, she turned away and seated herself behind the table anew, from where she could observe everyone in the room. A position she preferred. She liked knowing what was going on around her, observing the people, though it also meant that she was on almost constant alert, ready for any kind of attack.

Funny how some people reacted to the presence of someone different from them. Whispering into their neighbours ears, discreetly - or so they thought - pointing towards the stranger with a sword that was bigger than most of them, they could still not get enough of gossiping, although now it had been a while since he had been in the bar. It was good for her though as for once she did not stick out as much. Relaxing a little, probably also through the drinks, the half-elf sat back, enjoying the spectacle that was the bar during the few moments where the man adjusted his sword and made his way to the outside.

And then he was gone. Siofra frowned, unsure of what to do now, of what she should focus on for a bit of distraction from her own dark thoughts. Nothing good had been happening lately and she was growing weary of overthinking things, especially since there was no way of turning back time anyway. Maybe I could follow him? Just to keep occupied and see what he is up to? It shouldn't pose much of a problem to follow stealthily, it was part of her job after all and curiosity was winning her over anew. In addition, what else was there to do? She might even steal one or the other tip on places to go in this dragon forsaken place, from an outsider such as herself. There could always be something to learn..

And with this, she got up. Putting a few coins on the table for the bartender, she nodded a greeting into his general direction and quickly slid out the door. Pulling the hood over her head, she tied the cloak closer around her, slightly freezing in the cool night air. It had cooled down, much more than she had thought it would at this time of the year. She would definitely do good to find a decent place to rest, maybe some place warm. Looking up and down the street, she finally perceived a large shadow that was rapidly disappearing from view and melting into the oncoming darkness around the figure. She set out to follow this shadow.

Xavien of course walked from the place with no regrets at all. The people in there no less than annoying... let alone that female that had been at his side at the counter. But she hadnt annoyed him... intrigued him perhaps, but no annoyance. His mind stayed on her as he walked.... her not a figure he would see in everyday travel for sure. His eyes watched the others around him, his posture relaxed, though a bit out of place with that large sword on hisback still. Most seemed to almost fear his presence, such a blatantly dangerous one... and from the look of him he didnt care at all that his state of being pointed at him being dangerous. Well why should he?

However as he walked, his ears heard distinctly, someone treading quite softly behind him. Her steps almost timed to say...... The pattern seeming familiar. He had to be being followed. There was no two ways around it. But who was that odd, so as to follow him about? It seemed someone indeed was very curious.... He used his mind a bit more. Him of course practiced in magic, how could he no be? With his occupation and things he had to have some other skill besides sword-swinging. He used his energies, peering behind him a bit. Seeing that cloaked figure, her treads seeming to indeed follow his own. Xavien smirked a bit.... he could hardly believe it.

He turned and headed toward his home.... what seemed a grubby pawn shop almost in fact. He indeed had good cover... He rolled his shoulders a bit, approaching his door.... However he shoved the key in the lock and stopped. "You coulda just asked to come over for dinner, instead of sneakin behind me." He said, this time turning and looking directly at her. His hand sat on the hilt of his sword, his reddish gaze just transfixed to her. Him very still... e didnt know her intent, thus he was being cautious....... But from the look and feel of her she didnt seem to be after his head..... But well, only time would tell.

A lot of people picked up their feet to get out of his way as quickly as possible, sensing the threat that seemed to emanate from him, reinforced by the presence of the huge sword he had strapped on his back. Siofra herself had not felt endanger like so many people surrounding him apparently did. He certainly would be an enemy to fear, she could write that down in blood, but personally she had not felt like he would harm her in any way. Now and then a grin flashed over her face when she saw the looks some of the people gave him. Funny how being different can bring about so many different reactions. A little boy was staring at the sword, completely dumbstruck, then pointing at it with the "Mummy, I want that" look on his face. His mother obviously outraged by her boys' idea, pulled him away, scolding him and telling him that this was a very bad man and he would not want to have anything to do with someone like him or weapons like his for that matter.

They wandered through the city, she trying not to be noticed, though she had the nasty feeling that he somehow had found out he was being followed, but still she moved in his tracks, wondering where he was headed. She didn't know this place, so couldn't tell at all whether they were headed into a good or bad district, whether there were more pubs over there, whether it was going to be a marketplace or houses or.. And then her question was answered as he made for a little house, shabby but still looking comfortable despite the used and old appearance. She almost jumped in fright as he suddenly turned towards her and started talking to her. She had not expected this to happen as he had so confidently put the key into the lock as if he hadn't even considered that someone might be behind him.

At first, the half-elf was open-mouthed at the stranger's straightforward remark and she had no idea how to respond. Rapidly regaining her composure, she smiled apologetically, lowering her head but keeping her eyes fixed on him, so that she was now looking up at him - more than before, seeing that he was taller than her. "Oh.. well, I wasn't sure how you'd take it being asked out by a woman." She fluttered her eyelashes, trying not to overdo it though, unsure still of how he would react as his hand was still clasped around the hilt of the large sword. The question was what was going to happen next. She wasn't actually counting on him inviting her in for real, but she did wonder whether they were going to meet again. Curiosity was still nagging at her and she wanted to find out more about him. But she did not want to push her luck, she could consider herself lucky that she was still in one piece. Despite the fact that she had not felt threatened by him, his caution told her enough. He might not have been so nice to other people hunting him through a city. So she decided to wait, wait for his next move, before deciding on her own.

Xavien of course had cared none about others dodging him, fearing him. That was typical no matter where he was. They were right top do so in a way, this he knew. Though he could live with someone in his life that didnt fear him... but he doubted he would ever find someone alright with him like that. Thus his hopes werent too high. He just carried himself with strength and dignity, as much as he could.

Of course now such things were forgotten in his mind. Her words were stranger then her eyes. Wanting to ask him out? Was she that intoxicated? Or truly intrigued? Or was this some type of trick. He was more betting on the latter. Anyone that approached him typically either wanted to take his life or take some of his belongings. Thieves and assassins... well he couldnt blame them really. But this one...stirred his insides a bit, in odd ways he could explain little.

Finally he relaxed slightly. Though very little. "Hmph..... Ask me out? Just why should I beleive that this is your true intent? No female has ever asked me out, not without a more malicious intent behind it.... prove your word." He said softly, yet dangerously. Those red pupils glowing a bit. Him seeming to look past her eyes, her face..... looking further into whatever of her hewas looking at.Though unlike most males likely, his eyes stayed right on hers, refusing to move elsewhere. All intent, all movement could be read from such if one knew how to look for it. Which unfortunately to anyone with ill intent it was one thing Xavien learned to do. Thus he watched, waiting.....

((Haha, you said I was using Kevvx, not Xavien. xD Kevvx is way different then him =pp. You might like Kevvx though LOL.))

Well, that much I could have expected, she thought as he really did not look like the kind of guy women typically went for. He wasn't the easy, openly rich looking guy which seemed to be the general drift so-called independent women went these days, except for the occasional girl who settled for someone who cared for her more than he could provide for her. Ah these times... Sometimes, Siofra wondered if they were ever going to change. Not to mention the pre-arranged marriages in every other family where the girls were not man enough - no pun intended - to choose someone for themselves. But she was letting her guard drop and her thoughts drift away.

She focused back on the face before her, the red glinting of his pupils not going unnoticed. It made her frown in wonder as she finally realised that he would not skip a beat and straightforwardly kill her, should her answer not be a satisfying one. Yet, there was no fear in her. The half-elf was confident enough to believe that she could at least give him a good run to achieve that goal before she would end up dead in the middle of a dirty road in a run-down town. There was no denying that she would lose a battle against him, he was almost twice her size and would probable weigh triple her body weight. Not to mention the sword. It did annoy her though that he was unable to believe that she had no ulterior intentions. For once, this really was not so and it bothered her a lot that he did not even consider it a possibility that she was actually interested in who he was.

"Let's be brutally honest then, shall we?" Siofra's eyes hardened, a coldness swooping over her. "I can understand that you might be suspicious by someone trying to be nice to you. But hell, not everyone is carved out of the same wood, so would you please stop trying to judge me like I'm some kind of street tramp who is just out to get your hide?" The 'me' might be a tad dangerous at times, but once in a while it so happened that she was not the dangerous one. She could be just as innocent as every other person running around in a city, eyeing over people, wondering what secrets they were hiding. It surprised her that it hurt her that there was someone in front of her who immediately judged her as a bad person. Granted, her moral compass didn't exactly point due north, but she did not consider her a bad person. She had her reasons for everything she did and nobody she'd ever killed had been killed out of pure personal interest. She despised wielding the sword of vigilantism.

His eyes were looking at her so intently, she was pretty sure he saw the moment's hesitation in her eyes when she suddenly realised that she had not actually told him that she meant no harm, but merely that he should treat her differently. Out of habit, her body was tensing up and she was getting ready for anything he might do, just in case he would suddenly lose it and jump her nevertheless. Siofra had doubts that her tiny little speech had done the trick and would keep him from killing her. Still, she did not much care about that fact. For now, she was quite simply angry. What exactly the reason for this anger was, she could not quite explain herself, other than the fact that she disliked feeling vulnerable, and the person standing opposite her had achieved just that by questioning her intentions. Funny that. She shot him a dirty look that could mean so much more than it did, as she reverted back to observing him and pressing her lips together in a small pout.

((xD Well if you wanna at some point. Though you might find him a bit challenging to fit with, a Draconic embodiment of rage and anger from Kevv.... Though with the right being he can be Halfway tame. xD))

Xavien of course frowned deeply, once she said soemthing about being 'Brutally Honest.' Him liking such things more then beating around the bush, thus he listened a bit more intently then before. Surprised more then anything. she did seem truly interested, not just some being out for his blood once again. Well he hardly knew what to say to such. Debating on several ways to handle it... should he tell her to leave or actually let someone in for once? He had never let anyone that close at all.... well how could he? Being what he was and how he was, it was just dangerous.

He sighed a bit though after a minute. Well he could tell he likely had angered her too. He could tell as far as females went he still had no good points whatsoever in terms of communication. "Well....." He sighed a bit. "forgive me... IVe jsut had little reason to not judge another who coems to me as anyone good." He told ehr gently. "Though it seems this time I assumed wrong." he said simply. Rolling his shoulders a bit, and turning back to the door.

He moved his hand a bit, not touching the knob. The door seemed to shake a bit before opening... no, it didnt open like a normal door, it triggered by magic. "Well... come in then... I suppose this time, I should change things up and actually let someone in." He said simply. Not really knowing why he was doing such. Then again, perhaps it was to make up for his own behavior... plus well, he couldnt lie, she had his interest for now. Her achieving what no female before her had so far. He hoped it lasted almost. He rarely took such interest in anyone at all, yet here she was sparing his mind in ways he hadnt thought he ever would really feel.

His home was small and not the cleanest liekly. Though he took fine care of it, but he wasn't there to much. He moved a few things, making sure there was a place for her to sit and such. He took the big sword off his back, leaning it against a wall near a roaring fireplace. "forgive the untidyness, im hardly ever here thus the place dont get messed with too often." He told ehr. "Plus I dont got that magic touch to make this place look any better, so its not my biggest worry. Long as Ive got somewhere to go when its rainin I really dont care." he said simply. Looking to her soon enough. "So what of you? Im surprised any would follow me here, let alone for the reason you did.... so tell me, who might you be?" He asked her. Hardly expecting a straight answer, but well, he would glean what he could from it...

Her tense stance and the pout were beginning to feel uncomfortable, yet, it seemed her opposite was still considering whether to feed her to the dogs or believe her. His eyes did not move away from the female half-elf, taking her in, thinking about what she had said, but seeing that he did not draw his sword and chop off her head right there, right then, Siofra began to ease up a little. Maybe he was quite simply scarier than he looked. Not that she thought he was scary as such but there was something about him that would make most people turn around and walk into the other direction, unlike her, who followed him and then basically shouted at him.

Her pout fell into a little heap of surprise when the man suddenly admitted at not trusting most people around him. It was like the words had come out of her own mouth, and she had not thought that she would learn this much about him out on the street with one simple phrase. She barely visible nodded in response, acknowledging this as what it was. An apology. Curiosity grew again as he showed this gentler side of his and it made her wonder how fragile he was, how much of himself he was really hiding beneath all that exterior. Apparently, there seemed to be much more than even Siofra had thought at first glance. She watched him open his front door by magic, not even using the doorknob; it made her wonder what she was getting herself into when he invited her in. Carefully, she stepped in behind him, curious at what would await her.

The room that opened up before her eyes was cozy, homely, which also meant that it was a bit disorderly but it gave the place all the more this comfortable and almost warm feeling. She watched him scurry around the place to make room for her to allow her to sit and waved away his apology with a hand gesture. "Don't worry about it, my place would look worse than this. Plus, I like it better if it's not overly clean. It makes a place less personal." She gave him a small smile and walked over to the fireplace, deliberately avoiding the spot where he put the sword so as not to give him the wrong impression. Either he trusts me not to do anything to him, or he really is that strong that he wouldn't even need the sword to overpower me. It took her quite some will power not to shake her head at her own thought. Of course he could easily take me if he had to. He has magical powers..

Abruptly, she decided to follow his gesture and began strapping down her quiver and bow, laying them next to the fireplace, not far from his sword. Soon after, her own sword followed, though she kept the dagger on the belt. The cloak, she laid neatly folded on top of the quiver, letting her hair come lose in a wild wave. When he asked who she was, and somehow with it asked why she had chosen to come with him, she at first did not reply. Staring at the flames in the fireplace, Siofra quite simply did not know how to explain it. Almost a 100% sure that he would not be satisfied when she simply stated her name, like with so many others, she did not know how to tell him who she was. And as to why she was here... She didn't even really know herself.

Slowly, she turned around, looking up at him from underneath her mass of hair, she replied: "My name is Siofra. As to who I am... it's hard to explain. What I can tell you for sure is that I am unlike most other people you have encountered. Probably both of us have encountered, as far as I can tell." With the last bit, she looked him straight in the eyes, knowing full well that he will understand this comment for what it was meant. They probably were more alike in their own ways than they could have imagined when seeing each other in that bar just a couple of moments ago. Crossing her arms in front of her chest, she leaned against the fireplace, watching him as he was watching her. However, it did not feel uncomfortable. The tension had eased away and the heat of the fire was beginning to ease through the half-elf's body, relaxing her muscles. "Might I inquire after your name?" She did not ask him who he was deliberately, wanting to find out whether he would say something on his own. She had already kind of forced him to invite her in, she did not want to push it.

((Hehe, Well if you ever think of someone let me now. I don't find many interested too much in meeting or interacting with him so itll be fun. =D))

Xavien sighed a bit, soon slipping his long coat off himself too. His form fit and lean, though not too musclebound. Wel he didnt see the need to be built like a boulder simply. Hearing she wasnt too uncomfortable in his home though he was relieved. Usually he hated bringing others in there, for well, he wasnt very tidy. But it seemed she understood why most likely at least, therefore wouldn't go into it. Perhaps she even liked such.... As for him being scary. Well no, he didnt see himself as such. He knew of others of his kind that were te times worse then he was of course, living just to rip others apart out of glee. He wasnt like that. That was why he had left his Fathers' domain and things. Simply they were too violent and bloodthirsty for no god reason. It was wh he typicaly wouldn't interact with many demons in general, even if he was one..... He didnt like their outlooks on life most of the time.

He saw her take ehr weapons off too. Glad she did so. He really didnt need to be shot at or stabbed today. Though he knew he could more then likely overpower her without his weapons.... Well he wasnt only good with a sword and knives. He had studied many different ways to battle, thus magic and such was at his disposal. Though he showed suh little. Most looked at him and thought he would jst be a physical fighter. Well they wer very wrong.

His eyes swept over her, looking about the room a bit too. Listening as she told of ehrself He had expected less from her words then what she told, which surprised Xavien of course. But he was glad to know her name at least. He noticed she seemed hesitant on telling much about herself though. He couldnt blame ehr for that though. He knew the uncomfort of a past all too well. considering how his own was well, it was a surprise that he would say anything of who he was at all and live to tell of it. But he just carried on like it wasn't there at all. Him figuring that was jsut the best way to deal with it....

At her question though Xaviens' eyes narrowed a bit. "Who... I am? I suppose I can tell......" He said with a sigh. "My name is Xavien, Son of the Overruler Xaragur." He said simply. He didnt tell who Xaragur was, who was well, one of the six Demon overseers..... Them sort of like the opposites to the Gods in the skies. Them not as powerful though really. Most of the time. He didnt elaborate for most wouldnt have a clue who the all were, but those that did likely wouldnt find him too appealing to be near at all. Then again he could be wrnog, she could be that odd one out. Which would be all too nice in his eyes. He got tired of the fear around him in truth, just because he looked ho he did and carried one huge blade meant nothing. He was stable as he could be on the outside, but well inside, alot of the time he was simply torn... well things jsut got depressing. He ignored it all he could but sometimes it was about too much.....

Siofra looked at the man, taking in his reaction to what she told him and was pleased to see that she seemed to have surprised him yet again. It wasn't that hard for her to surprise people, as either they thought she was a little wolf in a sheep's pelt or she was a sheep posing as a wolf. Either way, it wasn't hard to disguise her nature and make people believe what they wanted to believe, only to turn everything upside down afterwards - mostly a small gesture or a retort did the job. Though, she was beginning to grow tired of playing games, thus her coldness was seeping through her disguises more and more.

"Xaragur? The name rings a bell somewhere deep down but I can't remember where or what from," she mused, the relaxation in the muscles loosening her tongue as well. A vague memory was floating around her brain but she couldn't quite grasp it. It did not necessary mean that it was something that had happened around her - not to herself anyway, otherwise she'd konw - or it might just be a rumour she had heard on one of her travels. She looked Xavien over, as she had done several times already. There was something about him that should tell her more about himself, but somehow it was like her mind was clouded or he did not really want her to see. As with the name, she didn't quite know how or where to place it. He was unlike anyone he had ever encountered, which was part of the reason why she was here anyway. She wanted to know more about him.

Before the situation could become uncomfortable, the half-elf chose a different approach and moved away from the fireplace to sit in one of the chairs Xavien had cleaned for her, putting her that much closer to him. It was a comfy little one-seater, almost like her own private couch. "A hot drink is the only thing missing now," she attempted to joke but didn't quite know how he'd take it, so she got right back up, looking around quickly before adding: "I know this is your place, but if you tell me where to find mugs and such, I'd gladly fix us something up?" The suggestion might be considered presumptuous, but she meant it as an apology for her early behaviour. Plus, on the other hand, she really was eager to push his buttons, to test how far she could go. Without being hurt in the end obviously. She wasn't planning on her life ending this night.

~((Hmm.. yes, let me think about that one.. Maybe Freki... Selene probably not, Siofra seems to fit too well with Xavien to fit with Kevvx, too. Btw, would you mind putting Kevvx and Xavien back up on the NDC page? Since the pages got deleted along with the account... la la la.. Thanks! Sorry for the shorter post by the way, but I ran out of ideas lol.))~

((xD Well whoever you like, im sure itll be interesting. Kevvx is his own plot LOL. As for puttin the chars up on the board yeah, ill get to it whe I get some good time on my hands. Ive got several to do, Kevv has to go up and Xavien, and Kevvx and Kevvile will hafta too. Dont worry over your post size, mine arent too big in general, but I get the oint plainly across. ;D ))

Xavien of course could feel her coldness and hear it. But really he didnt take too much of a look into it at all. She didnt seem a danger to him at all. If she was then well, to come this far and not try anything or grow hasty... she deserveda good shot at him. Though she would likely be severely disappointed if she did try. Killing him wasnt as simple as any would think. How do you kill something that has no heart?

Hearing his Fathers' name roll off her tongue he sighed a bit. "Most haven't heard of him at all... mot dont leave their planet enough to know about such matters with him at all. Though its better that way, the sheer mention of him is quite depressing." He said simply. Indeed hating to speak of his Father or hear about him at all. He was the sole reason Xavien was even as he was anyway. He couldnt improve or change it really, he ahd tried ebfore. Only to be attacked by his Fathers' own people. Wellthey weren't happy about losing him of course. They had tried getting him back quite a few times, though Xavien dodged them every attempt.....

He was relieved when they got off the subject for sure though Lookign to her he nodded. "ahh. Well of course.... the kitchen is just down that hal." he said, pointing. "The mugs and the drink mixes and such sit out on the counter, in plain sight. You cant miss them. The mugs themselves hang on an overhang above the counter though." He told her. Well that likely was the only room in the house that was kept somewhat orderly at all. Hating his eating place to be a mess of course. He sat down soon enough, figuring he should try to relax a bit more, being so tense inside from mention of these things was just ridiculous a bit.

Vaguely, Siofra stored the mention of the word 'planet' away in her brain for future use. It was another of those things that she wanted to ask Xavien about later, should she get the chance to or even stay that much longer. Funnily enough, so far she hadn't even considered whether this was going to be a longer evening or just a cup of something, which she was about to go brew. She gave Xavien a small smile and hopped along the hall to where he had indicated the kitchen would be, leaving him to himself for a while.

It was fun to explore his place a little. The half-elf ventured down the hall, taking in as much of the home as she could without appearing to be nosy. She didn't turn around to check whether he was observing what she was doing or not, so tried to be nonchalant, in case he was - after all this was his house and maybe this was just a test to see what she was planning, though she did wonder why she did trust him enough, after 'knowing' him for not that long really, to turn her back on him without even being armed. When she came to the end of the hall, she peeked into the kitchen, which was bigger than she had expected, with enough space to move around decently when whipping up something to eat. Everything was neatly stored away and seemed to have specific places, something that made Siofra smile. For a guy living on his own, this was rather impressive. He started to turn out to be quite something. She wouldn't have thought that when she first laid eyes on him, despite being intrigued by his presence.

As Xavien had indicated, the mugs were on an overhang above the counter, so she started with those before rummaging through the various drink mixes and spices that were arranged on the counter. There were some very appealing ones and before she even thought about what she was doing, she was beginning to open box after box and smelled them all, going back to the ones she had liked to reconsider the smell and what they might taste like. Some of them were completely unknown to her and it was great fun using her smelling sense to decide which one she was interested in tasting. Hmm, I actually have no idea which one he wants... The thought popped up quickly, but she wasn't quite ready to go back and ask him yet, so she dismissed the idea of returning to Xavien and picked up the next package, completely forgetting about the time and the fact that there was a potentially dangerous guy in the same house that could even easier overcome her, now that she was not paying attention in the slightest bit to what was happening around her.

Xavien frowned, knowing by now he likely said more then he should have. Well he didnt get too comfy wit anyone so often, yet for some reason she sat right with his mind. He couldn't explain it too easily, but well, he felt he could almost trust her. Almost. He had to wonder though if she was really there jsut for his benefit or something more. He never got company, ever. It felt nice to have company that wasnt ready to behead him all the same though. He almost hoped she hung around awhile, it felt nice to speak to someone simply. Going days without uttering a word just was......horrible in truth.

Xavien soon enough turned a bit. Picking his big blade up. Rather going up some stairs into another room. Setting the sword down on his bed, not needing it to be out and seeable all the time. Well he could summon it if he really needed the thing. He slid his long coat off too, not needing it in the house. He shook his head after a time, his thoughts astray. "I shouldnt worry I dont think." He said simply. Walking abck out of the room.

He headed back down the stairs, seeing her not out yet. He wondered if she could even find the drink mixes at all, he kenw thigns were a bt scattered about. Well he wasnt there too often, when he had to find things he rushed about it normally, not one to like to take his time with meaningless tasks at all. He wondered if he should go and check upon her... Then again what would such say of him if he felt too paranoid to have ehr in his kitchen alone? Well he didn't feel that way but he knew things could get complicated for someone who never had been in the palce before.

He snorted, shaking his head. Hardly believing his own thoughts at all, he never was one for Skepticism yet here he was, it all over his mind now. He sighed and soon enough walked into the kitchen simply, seeing her with the mixes. He could tell she had likely explored a bit, but he couldn't be mad about that. "The chocolate mixes tend to be my favorite." He told ehr simply. Rather he reached into another cabinet beside the door, pulling out....cookies. Well no one said eh ate very healthy, cookies and pizza were his diet normally. He had some issues by far, but well he never was raised to say thus, he knew little better to tell the truth. He walked abck out of the kitchen and chuckled a bt, munching on one and giving a sigh. Sitting down, sitting back and trying t relax is mind. Waiting upon her to return....

Lost in her aim to define all the various drink mixes, Siofra did not even notice when Xavien came into the kitchen. Thus, she jumped up as if caught doing something bad when he suddenly addressed her with his drink preference. Wanting to explain what she was doing, she just stood there watching him, unable to get the words out. A look of utter surprise then flashed over her face when he suddenly reached into a cupboard to take out a cookie jar. Now that was something she had not expected, she hadn't taken him to be much of a sweet-tooth, yet here he was wanting a chocolaty hot drink and munching on cookies. I guess with some people you can never really tell.. Though she did scald herself for letting her attention slip. If he had meant her harm, she could have been dead without him even having to worry about her fighting back. This was something she had trained herself all life long NOT to do, yet here she was, throwing all caution into the wind and not paying attention to what was happening around her.

When he returned back into the room with the fire place, probably the living room, she thought, she turned her mind back to the spices, forcing herself to choose one. There had been a few very interesting ones that had made the choice rather hard, but the most appealing, which she finally decided to try, had an intense smell of cinnamon, cardamom and something slightly resembling nutmeg, which she simply could not resist. Quickly filling the mugs with a tablespoon of hers and Xavien's choices, she poured water into a small kettle and then shuffled back to the living room to heat the water over the fireplace.

Entering the room, she noticed that he was sitting, seemingly relaxed in a chair, patiently waiting for her to finish the drinks. Kneeling in front of the fireplace, she put the kettle on the rod above the fire. Having brought herself back to attention, she was strangely aware of him sitting there. Finally, she said: "Sorry I took so long but you just have too many drink mixes. I couldn't decide which one to try." She shot him a quick glance over her shoulder, then turned back to the water, which was almost boiling. The colour that now rose in her cheeks was not only caused by the heat of the flames, but also by the thought that suddenly crossed her mind, feeding her bad conscience. Fighting to keep control over her voice, not wanting to sound embarrassed, she almost whispered: "Thank you for inviting me in." It was unlike her to have trouble speaking her mind, but this was rather delicate as she still felt a little bad about having pushed him to do what he had done. Plus, a little gratitude goes a long way. Not wanting to deal with his reaction straight away, she kept herself busy pouring the now boiling water into the mugs and stirring until the powder had completely dissolved in both of them. Taking a deep breath, she then finally rose onto her feet and turned around to face him, extending his mug towards him.

Xaien of course couldn't hel but chuckle a bit. He knew he had scared her a bit with just walking in the kitchen. Well its not everyday he got to see such things or feel them. He sat there with the soft cookies, having at them. Eating two at a time really. He knew likely after this night he would need to make more of these... though he would need to find ingredients again too. He ahted going into anywhere to buty such things he got the strangest of looks when he walked into a bakery. He almost had to imagine why, but well, it was fairly obvious.

He knew soon enough she was making something in there. He could smell it more then anything else. Soon neough seeing her come back into the room though, he had another seal cleared up for her ebfore she came through the odd door. He raised an eyebrow a bit as she spoke though. Why were ehr cheeks getting that way, was she blushing? Why the hel was she doing that? Well he could think of a few reasons, but which were right and which were wrong? Let alone toward the end of ehr words she was strugling to hold her voice correctly too. Ahh what was this? how could she think such thoughts? Well he culdnt exactly blame her, he knew the llving body had alot of reactions to different things and to different beings too.

Xavien took his time but he chuckled finally. "I know I have too many in there, its just a bit beyond me to take the time and get them organized." He told ehr simply. "But someday maybe, ill get extremely bored and get that cared for." He told ehr. "Youre very welcome too.... I dont get company every day, or even every month for that matter. Its actually quite nice to sit with another sometimes and speak of things." He told her. Taking the glass and sipping at it. Ahh yes this was good stuff, not much could beat it at all. Her reactions still puzzled him though. It was like she was having trouble controlling ehrself in her feelings. From what he had saw she was a rock-steady female who could handle such thigns very easily. Yet here she was, losing it a bit. Well it must be some quite strong emotions to do such thigns. "Then thank you for being the only one with enough courage to come up here and actually take the time to speak to me." He told her simply. she ahd no clue how mcuh it really meant to him in truth. Things like this jut never tended to happen to him really, he never got a visitor unless it was for some morbid reason. Yet she was here actually for what seemed like a very decent cause. "Its slightly surprising though, anyone would want to come here..... I hardly know what to do or make about it." He told ehr with a slight nod. Sipping mroe at the tasty drink, reaching the jar of cokies out to her too. Not going to be impolite and keep them all to himself of course.

Not receiving the disdainful reaction she had feared to almost certainly encounter, Siofra soon relaxed again, taking a seat in the chair opposite Xavien's and skillfully ignored the puzzled looks he gave her. The general easy manner he had adopted made her feel comfortable and she raised her legs onto the chair and tried to curl up in it as far as possible, holding the mug in both her hands in her lap to profit as much from its heat as possible. As he continued talking, Siofra couldn't help but find more and more in him that reminded her a lot of herself. The half-elf too felt rather lonely from time to time, even though it might not be something she would openly admit to, yet it was the truth. Most of the jobs she had ever accepted were not designed for teamwork so she had more often than not worked and traveled on her own. The jobs usually required a certain amount of rivalry, making it hard to work well with another of the same line of work, as somehow often only one person out of a group tended to survive once the mission had been accomplished.

"Seems like we're not that different from each other," she stated, looking back up to meet Xavien's gaze. "It's been quite a while since I last sat down with someone to enjoy a conversation. They have a tendency not to..," an inner voice warned her not continue this sentence, and since she had learned to trust her instincts very closely, she swallowed what she wanted to say along with another gulp from her mug. Abruptly changing the subject, she sighed: "This is seriously one of the best drinks I've ever had." Leaning back in her chair, she enjoyed the warmth of the mug in her hand and of the flames in the fireplace in front of her. She could almost close her eyes now and doze off a little. Turning her head, she looked back at him in surprise: "What do you mean? People actually pursue you into your house to try and kill you off?!"

While she was waiting for his answer expectantly, still unable to believe that people would be as bold, she took one of the cookies from the jar he had offered her and a look of utter surprise flew across her face as she realised that they were much better than she had expected them to be. Well, well, who would've thought? Apparently, he was not yet done surprising her. Something most people did not achieve in her anymore. Too many walking clichées, too many typical reactions were crossing her path everyday, she had become very good at not being surprised at almost nothing anymore, except if she got herself into trouble again, but that was a whole different story anyway. Turning her attention back to what he had just said, she continued: "I mean.. isn't it a bit presumptuous to go into somebody's house to settle their bill?" Somehow, this did outrage her, if not only for the fact that this was absolutely not how such a thing should be handled, professionally speaking, but also because she would go into a fit if somebody tried to break and enter into her own realm in order to hurt or kill her. Her personal space was to be considered holy. Everyone and everything that entered uninvited would have to deal with her sweet revenge.

Xavien just kept himself quiet and attentive for now. As he spoke and things his thoughts were astray. Over her more then anything, it hard to guess her own path at all. She reminded him of himself in a way, then again she had alot of key differences too. Thus indeed it jsut was difficult to lay an eye and thought on what she might say or do. He kne whe likely was the same to her, definently not the typical male at all. But he kept it that way and he liked it. It just made things.... easier upon him inside truly. He hated being like anyone else, couldn't stand the thought of mimicry, intentional or not. As for work that was just different altogether. He refused to work with another at all, if he had to do such he wouldn't do the task simply. Another being involved on his end just tended to screw everything up at a bad spot.

At her words though he frowned. Especially after she stopped speaking and changed the subject Well he could sort of guess what she likely wouldve said at the end of that, even though it was quite an open-ended statement. Though he wouldn't press it. "Im glad you like it." He said softly. Though at her question he sighed a bit. Well the honest answer to that was well, yes. Indeed he had ahd to move a few times, because someone would wreck and burn his home. He had been attacked alot by those families he ahd torn apart, and by beings that didn't want to pay him once he was finished an initial job too. But did he really want to admit such things happening? He didn't seek pity, and definently didn't seek questions about his own lines of things. But well he couldn't really say no either.....

Finally, he spoke. His words thought over well of course. "Yes.... some....dont like what and who I am." He told her very simply. "Ive moved a few times because of it, indeed my homes don't tend to last too long." he told her gently and honestly. Well it was half the truth anyway. His Fathers' beasts of minions could make a huge mess of things when they found where he was of course. That usually tended to be a more serious situation by far however... they wanted him backand badly, considering his powers and things it had been quite a brutal loss whenhe went rogue upon them. But he didn't care. He hated what his Father stood for, how he acted, hated everything about him. Thus was bound and determined never to see him again.

He set the jar back down at hiss small table beside the chair once she took a cookie of course. Knowing she would like them more then likely, lest she didn't like such sweets. Which wasn't too odd of an encounter for him. Though he wondered why some didn't like such, it was all he survived off of. Then again he wasn't raised to know about healthy eating at all. Though it had yet to really impede him in any way. At her words he shrugged a bit. "Yeah, of course it is. But some think its just their tough standing to go and try to rough up another for that they feel they don't have to pay, or for what they think theyre owed." He said simply. "Its no issue to me, most just dont walk away." He told her. "Its their los, not mine." Well that was the most optimism he could offer on his own situation truly. Looking at it with any more of a pleased outlook would make him quite a sick beast in his opinion. Thus he just looked at the glass half-full, nothing more. Well indeed it was their own idiocy, to walk into his home... most of them met his other side, which got ugly very quickly of course.

She couldn't help but laugh at his statement, slightly inclining her head as she did so. "Yeah, I guess some people don't really know the boundaries between personal and professional life. Their desire for revenge for something that apparently unfairly happened to them is limitless at times, it seems." A mischievous grin crossed her face as she thought about the few that had ever managed to venture deeper into her home than the door step. Though that had not been many, amongst other things because she hadn't really had a real home for quite some time. Most of her life she had spent traveling, pushed forward by a restlessness deep inside her, a feeling that kept pushing her to find an answer to the question that has been nagging at her for years, eating her up from the inside, but she had never spoken to anyone about it. Not in a very long time at least. As she had been thinking about this a shadow had laid itself over her face, even if it had only been seconds before she turned back to Xavien, smiling sadly at this mysterious being.

"My homes, the very few I had, have not lasted very long either. There always seems to be some slight mishap that makes it all go down the waste and before you know it, you have to move again because the place you had is no longer livable for some reason or other." What she did not add was the fact that those reasons for her had often quite simply been the fact that she had not been welcome in the place anymore. Some people were still very unhappy about mixing with other races and the fact that she was descended from an elf did not make life any easier on her. On top of that, in those places where people knew her family history, she was considered an outcast anyway because she was the elf girl that had been raised by a human mother after the elf father had disappeared into the night when she was still very young. Then there was the mysteries surrounding both her and her brother, though mostly her brother.. Repressing a sigh, Siofra stared into the flames for, what seemed, a long time, before once again turning back to her host.

"So what is it that you actually do? If you don't mind my asking? I'm sure this often is a rather delicate question, but even though your cookies are extraordinarily good, I don't believe you're the type that would work in a bakery for life." She winked at him, searching his face for a reaction to her blunt question, already mentally preparing for the question that was surely going to be returned to her. It is like it usually is, even for the people that are unlike other people. Even though he really would not be the right person to inspire confidence in others, there was something about him that made her want to stay in his presence, but she definitely could not put her finger on what that was. She was still intrigued by him, his behaviour, well basically everything about him, yet she did not have chills running down her back now, unlike before when she thought of what he might be able to do to her in just the blink of an eye. He did not seem like the kind that would just kill for pleasure... Yet... that's where she might be mistaken. She was not the one you'd think would take on the work of an assassin either...
