Setting: A large forest of Armell Falls, just south of Didienne. Large trees and shrubs cover the ground and sky, and the thick quiet gives the entire place a feel of mysticism. Towards the center of the large forest resides a pond with the clearest blue water around. The nearest town is relatively close, yet the people fear the forest, for the animals, poisonous plants, but something new lately. A rumor has spread of an enchanted woman who sings to steal your soul to do her bidding at night. But that’s just a rumor right?

Time: Late at night, calm and quiet before a spring storm. The sky is open with dark clouds looming, and a wispy cloud hangs about the full moon.

PostSubject: Re: Tegan) Song of the Mornful (Tourin   Tegan) Song of the Mornful (Tourin Icon_minitimeThu Dec 02, 2010 1:36 am

As the full moon shone brightly, the patched of light drifted lazily through the breaks of the trees. All was quiet in the forest, almost too quiet, almost dead silent. Almost. Soft padded paws gently and silently moved through the trees, winding around the trunks, and avoiding the tall shrubs. Pitch black fur melted away into the night sky, only visable as the creature padded throug hthe rays, which illuminated emerald green eyes, full of intelligence that didn't belong to the animal. Pointed white ears twitched and white paws glowed in the moonlight. The white on her tail also giving off a glow in the light when the creature passed through it. Two fanged teeth showed over the muzzle of the wolf sized cat?

Mira yawned slightly, exposing her sharp pointed teeth in her mouth. She looked around, her mind exploring what was around her, while keeping a block up, just a small defense that would allow those to enter her mind to speak, but not allow those to get information from her. A normal defense that the werecat wa sused to keeping up. A small cry pieiced the quiet air, and she looked up through a hole in the tree tops to see a falcon glidding on the breeze and circling lower into the sky till it finally dove throug hthe hole, and fluttering it's wings landed softly between the wolf cat's shoulder bladed. Folding it's wings to it's sides, the falcon settled down and looked around with it's black eyes.

"Good evening Grafe," Mira spoke through the link she always kept up between her and her friend. "Your hunt go well?" she asked, making calm conversation with the bird. After the echo of his screech died away, the forest once again was dead silent. And a small warm breeze picked up, ruffingly Mira's Fur.

The Falcon spoke back through the link. His eyes were still darting around looking for any sign of danger. "Yes, it was a good hunt. I could have had more than I ever wanted if I stayed long enough. The creatures aren't really around here, but in the forested area to the west a ways, there are much more animals than I could ever want." He sounded pleased and Mira smiled slightly, drawing her lips back against her teeth. Almost a smirk.

"You can calm down," she added with a laugh in responce to him jumping slightly as the sound of the wind brushing through the shrubs. "Not many things around her, and besides, it's not like you believe in the scary rumor do you?" she teased with a bit of sarcasm, for in all honestly, that was why the pair was here in the first place. Mira wanted to meet this spirit. Grafe was less for this, homwever he didn't want her to go alone, so here he sat, on her back. Mira still let her mind expand out, and found something interesting. "Perhaps it might be true after all?" she teased some more.

PostSubject: Re: Tegan) Song of the Mornful (Tourin   Tegan) Song of the Mornful (Tourin Icon_minitimeSat Dec 04, 2010 6:14 pm

Tonight was a beautiful night. Dorloan loved being in this part of the forest. There was always plenty of wildlife to hunt and hardly ever anything more intelligent. This was one of the places Dorloan loved to come when he wanted to be alone. He would go sit by the pool in his wolf form and just stare into the water. It always seemed like he would enter some kind of trance-like state when he stared into the perfectly blue water. But tonight the forest seemed different; there was absolutely no noise other than his padded footsteps when he walked.

Dorloan thought it strange; people in the nearby city had recently been thinking a lot about a rumor that was going around. Obviously there was some sort of “spirit” roaming the woods that would sing to steal your soul at night to do her bidding. How could anyone believe this? Dorloan had never heard of such foolery and he refused to believe it.

The large wolf stood up from its sitting position, it was time to go looking for any signs of life. As he trotted away from the pool he heard something, not with his ears but with his mind. He stopped quickly and sat down. Dorloan closed his eyes and reached out with his mind, he had to find what he had heard. As he searched the forest all was quiet. Then he found it, this wasn’t an average person thinking though it was to people having a conversation through a telepathic link. One of these beings had to be extremely gifted with their mind to be able to setup such a link between the two of them.

Dorloan had heard the conversation but now he had to find where these beings were. Dorloan concentrated harder, but still kept his mind quiet as to not alert this pair of his presence, so he could pinpoint their location. There! He had found them; they were just barely a half-mile away. Dorloan quickly changed form into something that was off the ground and quieter than his wolf form. He jumped up into a tree and began jumping from tree to tree as fast as his legs would allow him. He had to find this pair of beings. He had to know what they were and why they were in this forest. But most importantly, he had to know if they were hostile or not.

Mira felt the light touch at her mind and stopped walking. She cocked her head, It was too light, like it was hidding. She couldn't tell exactly where it was coing from. She threw up her barriers in her mind, pushing whatever link was trying toget into her houead out. Although, she wondered what the thing had found out before she had noticed. She severed her link with Grafe, arching her back as he took off in a flight throug hthe trees, heading up in ot the open sky. Mira stood her ground, her lips drawing back over her teeth.

She waiting, looking around throug hthe darkness, her ears perked up as she listened closely for any signs of movement. She turned her head up as she listened to the leaves move. Was it on the breeze or something coing towards her. Her mind snapped back to her. No long exploring the vast area of the trees. She was tense and ready to move at any moment. Was this thing that had invaded her mind hostile? Friend or foe? Was it a human who was simply gifted in a different kind of magic than most where? She wasn't sure, but she knew she had to be ready, for anything. The fur along her back rose in defiance, and her tail sunk low to the ground. She kept the growl from emitting throug hher lips, although she was ready to be as menacing as she possibly could.

PostSubject: Re: Tegan) Song of the Mornful (Tourin   Tegan) Song of the Mornful (Tourin Icon_minitimeSat Dec 25, 2010 2:11 am

SNAP! The mind link Dorloan had been using to track this mystery person vanished while he was mid-jump. He landed on a large enough tree branch to support his weight and shifted back to human-form. He concentrated and searched for the two minds again, but everything was silent. It couldn’t be much farther because before the link broke he sensed it get extremely strong. He changed into and monkey and started jumping in the direction he last remembered the thoughts coming from.

There, Dorloan saw it. A wolf-sized figure sitting down with its ears lying back like it was trying to be threatening. Dorloan changed into one of the local fauna that was smaller so that he could get closer and not be detected. As he got closer he could make out more details of the being. Contrary to its wolf-like size, it had the features of a cat. Dorloan landed in a tree about 3 feet away for the large cat. The cat was facing him and he didn’t know what to do. He decided he would be daring. He jumped out of the tree and landed on the ground in front of the wolf-cat. Now in the form of a large monkey, Dorloan strengthened his arms and legs with magic then tackled the cat. “Now listen before you try anything,” he said, “I know you can understand me, because I heard your conversation with your bird.” Dorloan continued, “ I’m not going to hurt you I only tackled you so I could have a conversation with you, I had to make sure you weren’t going to run away.” “My name is Dorloan.” “ Who or what are you and what are you doing here?”

PostSubject: Re: Tegan) Song of the Mornful (Tourin   Tegan) Song of the Mornful (Tourin Icon_minitimeThu Jun 30, 2011 5:17 pm

Mira’s ears perked as she listened hard for anything around. She heard something in the trees and mistakenly let it go as a thought of only the wind to blame. She drank the air into her mouth and could scent something, but it was strange. No way it the rumor being, it smelled too… animal like. She shifted her weight on her paws as she thought about what the creature could be. However, she didn’t have to think long for the being merely dropped out of the tree. That was the scent, she realized as she sat facing the monkey being. A magic user, but a shape shifter. Interesting. She stood ready for what the being could do.

She was honestly surprised when the being tackled her. ‘How stupid,’ she thought to herself, yet she didn’t struggle, not at all. Rather, she heard the being’s words and then shifted her form easily to her smaller house cat one. She would hopefully then be able to slip out between the monkey’s arms, and if she could manage that, end up behind the creature. “You know,” she spoke in a purring voice, it sounded more like a warm milky sound. “When asking someone else something, it’s proper to answer the question first. Does a tree question the wind before it blows in the direction it’s given?”

She sat down and curled her tail neatly over her paws. Intelligent eyes locked onto the creature before her. “But being you did ask so nicely,” she smiled a sharp toothed smile that looked more malicious then genuine, “My name is Miramel, you may call me Mira.” She picked up one front paw and licked it amused. “And if you wanted to talk, all you had to do was ask.” She ran her paw over her ear, cleaning behind it. She didn’t like that he’d roughed her fur up. “But my statement before still stands. Who or what are you? The sun knows the sky and the moon knows the sun, but the moon doesn’t not know the sky the way the sun does.”

Dorloan felt the cat shrink in between his monkey-like arms and he allowed her to be released. He rocked back into a sitting position in front of her, showing her that he meant no harm. He thought about shifting back into his human-form, but decided against it for now. He molded his voice to sound smooth like hers, but huskier at the same time. “First of all, it isn’t nice to judge the actions of others as stupid without reason. I was merely making sure that you were not going to try and escape before I got the chance to talk to you.” He sat there studying her quietly as she spoke. “Do not try to confuse me with your riddles feline, I asked the question first so it is your obligation to answer me.” Dorloan closed his eyes while she spoke, doing his routine mental scan of the area to make sure nothing else was around. He felt the were-cat’s mind right in front of him and stopped his scan to focus on her.

The feeling of this beings mind was different, unlike any other mind he had ever felt before. It felt very similar to his own when he thought about it. He could hear the words she spoke in her thoughts slightly before she spoke, but he couldn’t read her thoughts for some strange reason. Every time he tried it felt like he was getting somewhere, then he was back at the outside of her mind. He concentrated hard, trying to penetrate her thoughts, but still to no avail. What was going on here? Why couldn’t he hear her?

Dorloan quickly opened his eyes, realizing the cat had finished talking quite some time ago. “Mira eh? Very well. Now I know you’re a shape changer not different from me. If you would please, stop hiding behind you’re façade……” Mid sentence he shifted to his human-form.”……and show me your true form please? It would only be fair.”

Mira shifted her weight absentmindedly as the creature sat facing her. She switched paw, licking the other one and then cleaning her other ear. She yawned softly, exposing every one of her sharp teeth, and then locked her intelligent green eyes on his. She cocked her head as she listened boredly to his speech, he really didn’t seem all that interesting to her. Just another human that was here to bother her. “My intention,” she said with an air of uninterest, “was merely to get you to think about your actions human.” She let her eyes scan the being over before returning to his. He looked sort of funny, it was rather amusing if she wasn’t so defensive of the being.

She felt his mind probe hers and her eyes narrowed slightly. She didn’t like his form of sly intrusion, not at all. In fact, it bothered her mostly. She quickly made sure that every time he got anywhere near her mind she would turn his thoughts around and head back away from her. She created a sort of mental maze instead of just putting up a simple wall of blockade. Anyone who was skilled in mental magic would counter the wall, and push through it, but a mental maze was harder to create. She growled silently to herself and threw a mind jab at the being’s head. Only she was surprised to find that she couldn’t connect her attack. She let her eyes return to normal and looked calmly at the being.

She had to smirk as the human went on talking. Could he really be so ill informed of the creatures of this land? Granted, Mira knew no others like herself, but she was sure they existed in hiding. She gave a soft pearl of laughter. “Human, you are defiantly an interesting one aren’t you.” She re-curled her tail around bother her paws now and kept her eyes on his. “What you see before you is my true form, but if you ask me to stop hiding, I can only assume you’ve never met a wild one. A werecat. However, if it shall please you…” She stopped her words and shifted again, this time she stood, her rangy fur now long black hair, her skin tone pale even for that of a human, her intelligent eyes still that of a cat, and her teeth as sharp as before. The long scarf she wore hanging off her shoulder and picking up softly in the breeze. “Is this a form you were looking for?” she spoke, and yet her voice hadn’t differed from before.

He stands up as she does and laughs. “You believe I am merely a human?” He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, about to try something he knows is very dangerous, but it’s necessary to prove his point. He thinks deeply in his mind about the knowledge of space and time magic that he has learned, making sure to stay behind his barriers because he left the mental stab she sent at him bounce off of the first, and weakest, barrier. He opens his eyes and they change colors to bright yellow. He feels his body evaporate as he tears the fabric of space in front of him and he space shifts. He re appears behind her slightly off from the position he wanted because he still doesn’t have this magic down yet. He leans close to her ear and whispers, “I can assure you Miramel,” he space shifts again, this time appearing directly in front of her face, “I am no mere human.” He stares into her eyes as his eyes change to a deep blue. “And it’s not nice to try and attack someone’s mind, especially if they can tell. He steps back away from her slightly and looks at her.

He studies this human-form of hers carefully, watching all her muscle movements to make sure she isn’t going to try and run. He keeps himself tensed and ready to chase or fight, still not sure of the were-cat’s intentions. “You are correct Mira; I have never known nor heard of your kind. I have never seen another the same as you,” He pauses for a moment and reaches out with his mind, lightly brushing hers, “Nor have I…..felt someone the same as you.” He sharpens his teeth inside of his mouth and then smiles, bearing them to her, the moonlight shining off of them. He also flexes his fingers, sharpening them into deadly claws at his sides. “If you need more proof, then please ask, I have no qualms with showing you a few things that I can do that a human cannot," He hopes she will want him to show her more, wanting to show off his talents, "if not, then would you please explain your intentions in this area, this is where I reside and your presence merely alerted me.”

Mira purred in amusement at his words. She backed up a few steps, keeping her movements slow, and leaned against a tree, after he’d go through his little space show. She looked down at her sharp claws and fidgeted with her short black shirt for a little while before she returned her eyes back to this strange person. “Dorloan, I assure you I didn’t believe you were merely human, only you’re appearance would suggest that and as I know not what space race you are, I shall stick to calling you human. She had to give a sharp toothed amused smile at his next words. “Well then, I would suggest not probing my mind next time. I shall not attack unless provoked.”

She watched as he looked her over, and she couldn’t help but feel a bit uncomfortable with the attention. She already didn’t like this creature at all. He was too sure of himself, and he had no manors. Oh well, she’d have to bide her time for now. She wanted to see if the rumors were true. Perhaps he would know? Would it hurt to answer his questions? She supposed not. She let her mind open up to the sky, keeping it mentally blocked from him, and found Grafe circling overhead. He was wet, and unhappy. The storm was here. As if on her thought of command a loud ‘Boom’ crashed over their heads. Grafe let out a squealing cry of alarm and dived from the air. He pulled up and landed lightly on Mira’s shoulder, gripping her shirt and scarf tightly in his claws.

She yawned boredly as the sky lit up slightly, the storm not completely overhead. “I’m not surprised that you’ve never run into my kind. Seeing as we do not appear to humans willingly.” She reached up and patted Grafe, not keeping an open connection between him and her as of right now. “As for showing off your talents,” she rolled her cat slit eyes, “this proves my point of how I assume you human. You have the personality of one.” The way she spoke, she treated him with kindness, but the respect she showed was for that of one younger than she. “My intention of being here was simply enough to look into your rumors.” She gave another sharp toothed smile. “I wanted to meet this women of the forest.”

“Do not call me human, for it is shameful to me. I am a Karian, much different from the insolent fools that dominate this world. As for the way I act, it is only because I am confident in my skills. You may see it as arrogance or boasting, but I assure you I only wished to prove my point.” He sensed the slight break in her mind defenses as she opened it up to the sky, calling her bird he assumed. He restrained his self from jumping at the opening, so as to show that he respected her wishes. Thunder boomed loud overhead as he watched the bird fly down from the trees and land on her shoulder. “You shouldn’t let him fly around up there with this kind of storm brewing, it’s dangerous, not that you don’t already know.”

He looks at her with a slightly confused expression, “Rumors you say, I have heard nothing of this “woman of the forest” that you speak of.” He felt a slight twinge in the back of his head as he said the name but thought nothing of it. “Please, tell me what you have heard and I may be able to assist you.”

PostSubject: Re: Tegan) Song of the Mornful (Tourin   Tegan) Song of the Mornful (Tourin Icon_minitimeFri Jul 01, 2011 11:02 pm

Mira listened closely to the creature as he explains he was not a human. She still didn’t like this creature, this Karian, which was unlike her. She normally didn’t mind other creatures and races unless they were human. Still… this one did not strike her fancy, and Grafe could feel her dislike. The small Falcon fixed his small black eyes on the creature, and they were colder than normal. There was still a small amount of fear with where they were and the storm that was coming, but he still looked at the male with dislike.

“I don’t keep Grafe pinned in one place; he can travel freely as he pleases. It was by his choice he follows me. I’m not the wind that unmercifully blows the petals of roses away from their home.” She looked over at Grafe and sent a small reassurance to the bird with a light and gentle touch to his mind. He relaxed slightly but as more thunder crashed and the sky lit up brighter; he fluffed his feathers out a little bit. “However, even if he’s young, he knows the caution of all birds with storms. That’s why he’s here now.”

As his conversation switched to one of the rumors, Mira found herself surprised, an unnatural thing for the Were-cat. “You really know not of the human’s fears of the forest?” She didn’t wait for any answer as she went on to repeat the whisperings she’d heard around the two. “At night, in this forest, there is supposedly an enchanted women who sings to steal your soul and make you do her bidding in the night. You then awake in your bed in the morning with no memory of anything that happened, but your entire body covered in wounds and bloods.” She smiled. “A rather nice spirit I was hoping to meet,” Mira added.

Dorloan shifted his position as he listened intently to Mira. “I have not heard of any such rumors, because I try to avoid the humans as much as possible. They are rude and very poor mannered creatures and I have found none so far that I enjoy the company of.” Dorloan grew tired of sitting and stood up and walked over to the pool of water that was near and looked down into it. As Dorloan watched his reflection in the water he thought about the past few weeks. The water calmed him and he went into a trance-like state as he thought, the rest of the world around him melting away.

Dorloan spun around to look at Miramel. “You know now that I think of, I have been seeing a strangely large amount of humans walking thru the forest at night. I do not see them covered in blood, but they do seem to just shuffle along mindlessly.” Dorloan walked away from the pool and towards Mira. “I know the general area where I have seen these humans. Perhaps I shall take you there and we will see if anyone happens along tonight. I believe that it is usually around this time of night that I see them. Would you like to investigate Mira? I will go without you if you would rather not come.” Dorloan looked intently into Mira’s eyes as he awaited her answer.

Mira simply stood there calmly as she watched the male. He was actually starting to bore her with just looking into the water. She was half tempted to just leave. After all, she didn’t need his company, nor want it. She gingerly reached up and pet Grafe’s small head lightly, her eyes traveling around the forest. It still hadn’t started to rain yet. But the thunder and lightning was definitely getting closer. This meant she’d have to switch forms soon to avoid getting her clothes wet. Yawning lightly, and exposing her sharp teeth, she was about to head farther into the forest when Dorloan turned back towards her. Mira cocked her head away from Grafe as the male spoke.

Mira contemplated his offer. No, she really didn’t want him to take her there, but what choice did she really have. Sure she knew the general area too, but she still hadn’t pegged this creature if he was trying to be nice or not. Holding her finger up to Grafe, the falcon stepped onto it and she placed him up towards the trees. He flew to the nearest branch and sat there watching the two of them. Mira shifted forms back into the wolf sized cat and flicked her tail in Grafe’s direction. The bird flew back down towards her and sat lightly on her back. Mira’s mind brushed against Dorloan for her to speak. “Sure,” she purred softly, “lead the way.”

As he stood there awaiting her answer, Dorloan watched Mira’s every move. The way her eyes shifted back and forth, the way her muscles were a bit tensed. She didn’t like him and he knew it. Why though? What reason had he given her to dislike him? Surely he hadn’t done anything to offend her. Maybe he would ask her about it later, yes that’s what he would do. But there was a more pressing matter to attend to at the moment. It was getting later and if they didn’t hurry to the clearing where he had seen these things then they would miss them. “Very well Mira, follow me.”

Dorloan’s body distorted and twisted shape into a larger than average black wolf with long shaggy hair and bright green eyes. He looked back as to see if Mira would indeed follow him. He turned and trotted off into the wilderness in the direction of the clearing. His ears stayed up, constantly twisting and turning to take in all of the sounds from the forest. He looked up into the sky to see where the moon was. It had fallen quite a bit more than he thought so he sped up his pace into a fast paced four-legged gate. He sent out thought in the direction that Mira would be, “Try and keep up, we aren’t going to make it if we don’t hurry.”

About 15 feet from the clearing Dorloan stopped running and paused. He channeled magic into his wolf-like senses o he could enhance them even farther. He sat on his hind quarters and pointed his nose up into the air and took a deep breath of the forest air. He could smell the crisp scent of the pines all around him, some of the flowers that were around, the morning dew on all the grass. He loved it, this was his favorite time of night in the forest, but as he scented the area he smelled something peculiar, something that didn’t belong. It wasn’t a forest smell, nor was it a human scent. This scent was almost putrid smelling, like something that had been rotting for a few days mixed with the smell of drenched animal fur. Dorloan didn’t like this at all. He growled quietly and turned around to look for Mira. He would throw a small mentally warning at her to stop if he saw her.

Mira followed after him, showing no interest as he shifted shapes. It wasn't the first time she'd seen a shape shifter, nor the first time this island had offered her something interesting to learn about. Still, she found it rather ironic he chose a shape of a large wolf. After all, she was a cat. They looked almost a like in these two forms as well. Another interesting small fact. Oh well, nothing she really cared about once more. The werecat sighed to herself as she followed behind the wolf/man/thing. She smirked to herself when he picked up speed. 'Finally,' she thought to herself. 'Speed.'

Mira's paws picked up speed on the forest floor as she wove through the trees behind Dorloan. She actually blocked his message of going to be too late, but she did it by accident this time. She hadn't expected him try talking that way again. Oh well, she really didn't need his message anyways, she could keep up with him fine. Although, she did lower her defenses slightly to allow him to be able to communicate with the physic link skill they both seemed to have.

She saw him slowling down, and then stop, so she did the same. Sitting back and picking a paw up to lick it. She wasn't slower than him, so she'd keep up easily. She also was used to running long distances, so she wasn't even breathing heavy. Instead she stood perfectly fine like she had when he'd found her. "What is it?" she asked projecting towards him uninterestedly.

Dorloan took in another large breath of the air, trying to see where this scent was coming from. It frustrated him that he couldn’t quite pin it down, but he knew the general vicinity it was coming from. The stench was coming from the other side of the clearing about 60 yards away, and it had gotten closer since the last time he smelled it. He heard Mira behind him and knew what he had to do.

Dorloan turned around quietly and spoke to Mira through his mind. “There is some awful smell coming from the other side of the clearing. I have never smelled it before in all of my time being in these woods, and I visit here quite often.” Dorloan lowered his mental barriers just enough so that Miramel would be able to feel his senses as her own. “Come inside and smell what I can smell. Tell me if you have ever come across this before.”

Mira finished licking her paw and ran it behind her ear like a cat. She then picked up her other and was doing the same thing with that paw when Dorloan turned around. She didn't show interest in what he was saying. She honestly didn't care. She was more interested in how the spirit worked. She wanted to see why the humans were covered in blood, and she was more than hoping it had to do with killing other humans. She was really looking forwards to see the bloodthirsty beasts turned on eachother.

Mira growled to herself and rolled her eyes. She didn't need this creature's help to smell the awful scent, so she didn't even try to enter his mind. Instead she stood up and put her tail straight up, like a cat, and started to walk in the direction of the scent. "If your done freaking out over scents, I'd actually like to see this spirit," she purred mater of factly. She didn't bother to turn about to see if the man wolf creature was following her. She just kept walking towards the scent. To be honest, she had no idea what the scent was, but she didn't all that much care either. Grafe on the other hand was shifting possitions nervously.

As Mira passed him with her care-free attitude, Dorloan quickly made a decision. He was tired of her blatant disregard of anything he said or did. He knew how things were in these woods and if Mira didn’t at least take caution at what he said then she would get hurt. It was time for Dorloan to stop being so passive.

As Mira walked ahead of him Dorloan concentrated on a large area of soil ahead of her. He used his magic to remove the earth from where it was, digging a pit deep enough that Mira wouldn't be able to jump out. The pit was dug just before the entrance to the clearing. After he was satisfied with the depth he hardened the few inches of soil that hid the pit so when Mira began to walk over it she wouldn’t feel any difference. Satisfied with his makeshift trap Dorloan began following behind Mira. As her front paws onto the soil Dorloan would cave in he waited just a few more seconds. When she was standing completely over the pit he would have removed the soil quickly, making it almost impossible for her not to fall in.

Mira paused for a moment as Grafe shifted once more on her back and his claws dug into her fur a little too hard. She sighed and twisted her head back slightly to look at the falcon. "Would you stop?" she said wincing slightly. Grafe paused and realized what he was doing and stopped. "Sorry," he mumbled softly back to her. She shook her head and thought for a moment. "Look Grafe, I know it's raining and you don't like rain, nor spirits, but fly up to one of the trees and take shelter there? It'll be safer for you, and you don't need to be so afraid."

The falcon was silent back to her for a moment, then nodded and took off from Mira's back as she arched it for him. She smiled and watched him go for a moment, then kept walking. Unaware of what the wolf/man/creature had done, the werecat stepped out onto the thinned soil and felt the ground give way under her. She yelped as the soil under her paws caved in and she hit the bottom of the hole. More loose soil fell around her and ontop of her and she snarled as she stood up and shook her fur dry. Fury flashed in her eyes as she drew her lips back to expose her teeth. She leapt forwards trying to claw her way out of the hole, but to no avail. Leaping to one side of the hole, she twisted to try to push off to the other, but still couldn't manage to drag her way out.

"Dorloan, you filthy creature. You're no better than the human scum! GET ME OUT OF THIS HOLE NOW!"

Dorloan couldn’t help but snicker a bit to himself when Mira fell in. His trap had worked. He waited for her to stop trying to jump on the walls that he had intentionally made slick so that her paws couldn’t grasp them. He took her insult lightly and thought nothing of it. He sat beside the edge of the pit and look down to her, concentrating hard when he spoke to her mind. “Listen to me Mira; neither of us knows what this “spirit” is. We don’t know if it will hurt us or if it will be something peaceful. I have no idea why you don’t like me and I could care less, but we have to work together no matter our feelings.” Dorloan swiveled his head in the direction of the stench and noticed it had gotten reasonably closer than before, before too long it would enter the clearing.

Dorloan turned back to Mira. “I am going to let you out of this pit Mira. Do what you want when you are out, attack me, leave, or continue on with me to find this spirit you seek. Know this though if you attack me you will have a fight on your hands, and if you leave you may get lost in these woods.” Dor stepped back a few feet from the pit and lifted the soil under Mira’s paws back up to ground level. Hopefully he wouldn’t regret this decision.

Mira's snarl grew as Dorloan sat above her. Like she thought, he had created the trap. She paced the length of the hole, twisting her body in tight turns to pace back the way she came. She was in a foul mood, even for her. He snapped her teeth audibly when the creature's voice entered her head. So that was how he wabted to play then? Fine, she'd play like that. She knew exactly what she was going to do. And he mind was made up even before he offered warnings to the two other opionions.

Relaxing slightly, her fur still stood on end. Her eyes full of rage, and her teeth bared, she did manage to sit still while he raised the ground again. However, her ears flickered and her tail lashed in any direction. When she was back on solid ground the werecat stood her ground for a moment before turning off to the left and stalking away. She'd take her own chances. There was no way she was going to be near this 'creature' after the stunt he'd just pulled. She didn't say anything, she just simply walked away. Let him deal with the spirit and it's ways. See if she cared. She could find a new place to watch people torment themselves.

The were-cat walked away from Dorloan and he wasn’t in the least bit surprised. He was conflicted though, one part of him wanted to just let her go and investigate whatever was sure to be in the clearing soon, the other part of him wanted to chase after her and knock some sense into her. He didn’t want to face this unknown threat alone, it was always good to have company. What to do? He only had minutes to decide.

Mira got farther and farther away, she wasn’t coming back on her own. Dor decided to go see what would be in the clearing rather than case her down, he had a feeling she wouldn’t listen to him anyways. He walked the last couple of yard to the edge of the clearing, staying hidden behind the tree line so that the unknown enemy wouldn’t see him. Dorloan shifted back into his human form and readied his bow for what he knew would emerge in mere seconds.

Mira wasn't surprised that Dorloan hadn't followed her. Nor did she care. Although she did wish Grafe had decided to come with her. She'd reach out to him after she'd finished fuming. After all, she was still agitated at the carelessness of that creature. That was the last time she tried to listen to something so under her. Sighing to herself, Mira paused and opened her mouth to drink in the scents. She was going the opposite way of the human's town. Good. So long as she kept on this one path, she should be able to get out of this stupid forest. She really didn't even want to be here right now.

A chill went down the werecat's spine as she felt something's eyes on her. She tasted the air again, but could smell nothing. Still, the air pressure around her had changed. It was colder. Probably just more of that stupid beast's magic. She ignored it and kept walking. A noise reached her ears then. A singing. So sad sounding. Mira paused as she listened intently. Of course it was too late that she realized she'd paused because she couldn't move another step. The singing grew louder in her head, and she tried to shut it out. Throwing up and defense she could muster, and yet nothing worked. It pierced her thoughts, made them foreign to her, and gradually replaced them. The noise stopped and Mira's eyes turned black. She turned around, and switching forms to her human one mid run, headed back towards Dorloan.

Dorloan waited patiently for the being to emerge from the trees. What could it be? What was creating this awful stench? He finally thought he saw something breaking through the brush he got excited, too excited. He forgot about everything else and he regretted. Too late Dor realized there were footsteps rushing towards him from the direction in which Mira had left.

Dor spun around to see Miramel running at him in human form about 40 yards away. She was running full speed so Dor didn’t have much time to react. He quickly threw out a small barrier spell that he hoped Mira would run into. It was a very weak spell and if Mira had her wits about her she would just break thru it. This barrier was just a test. Dorloan only threw it up to see how Mira would react. He had felt something eerie in the air a few moments ago and he was suspicious. Dor waited to see if Mira would run into the barrier. While he did this he threw up every mental barrier he had. Blocking out all ways to get into his mind.
