So, for some of us, it’s summertime, others, almost-but-not-quite summertime, when you’re sick to death of homework, revision and all those other things that teachers make you do (it’s called learning, apparently it’s important?)

Despite all the fun stuff you’ve probably mentally planned for the summer (unless you like to make lists farr in advance, but that’s more a day-to-day post-it thing, I find), if you’re anything like me, you’ll forget pretty much all of those cool things you were going to do until September 15th, or whenever the first day of school is. It’s especially frustrating when you look back at your holiday and think, “What the heck have I done with my summer? I was bored most of it, so I just… sat and watched reruns of Scrubs in a dark room for 90% of the time. With the CB on my lap”.
Well, dunno about you, but that sucks, in my opinion. Of course, the CB is luffly, but who wants to sit and watch Scrubs for 9 hours a day? It’s not /that/ good.

What this rather long-winded introduction* is trying to say is, do something exciting with your summer. Or if you don’t get summer, all your weekends. X) The best way of finding stuff to do, I find, is reading other people’s lists of things they want to do, then nicking ideas. Ahem, sharing. This calls for some list-making, and if mine’s the only one on this thread by the end of the week/month, then I will A) be sad B) assume you’ve all just sat and watched Scrubs/BBT/Avatar for 9 hours a day.

*I blame the fact that nobody’s on the CB tonight, because everyone’s off on some sort of holiday. And it’s just rained all day, and I’ve not been out.

Rogue’s list for the summer:
1. Make rainbow cake- 2013 completed! Tastes like unicorn poop
2. Actually finish some roleplays, so I can take on new ones HELL YEAHHHHH BABY
3. Frost plushie!!!!!!
4. Bonfire on the beach
5. Go to the carnival
6. Get a job (ohyay)
7. Finish writing novel stuff
8. Edit novel stuff
9. Read a bazillion books
10. Randomly take off and go backpacking for a week --lolnothappenin'
11. Mess with CSS
12. Arty things :3
13. Go to the zoo --Happening on wednesday!
14. Londonnnnn
15. Spriting Very Happy--Halfway there, yes!
16. Bios (lol) --Done 2 fabulously, to the max, but I think everyone actually has one now!

18. Make more books
19. Make that guinea pig plushie I’ve had for years
20. Make beady bracelets, cos they’re preeeetty
21. Climb trees
22. Make a den
23. Make a ZORRO cosplay
24. Watch some legit cool films

26. Mess with Sculpy
27. Make some bunting
28. Make a Dr Who scarf (any season is Dr Who season)
29. Watch all those cartoons I’m halfway through
30. Paint over my fugly GSCE artwork with good stuff (tree branches do not look like trees)

Ooh, a list list! This should be exciting Razz

1 ) Finish editing so my book is all finished when my ickle cousin starts big school
2 ) remember how to enjoy art
3 ) finish the treehouse I started eons ago
4 ) go camping /without/ setting up my tent on a bombsite
5 ) finish my pokemon game
6 ) have a waterfight
7 ) go to the beach /lots/
8 ) roleplaying (because life is incomplete without it)
9 ) properly get to know Jaz and Freya so they recognise me when they see me at infrequent family outings
10) go waterskiing and parascending (sp?) because I've always wanted to :3

My summer looks kinda bleak, but I'll try to list the fun stuff:

    [1] Make more meringue cookies 'cause they taste so heavenly!
    [2] Bake a birthday cake for a close friend (Note to self: it must be chocolate!)
    [3] Manage to get this novel to 50K
    [4] Go river tubing in July hopefully
    [5] See Rock City and Ruby Falls yet again that's a hope
    [6] Get mom and dad a surprise, perhaps set them up with a gift card for their fave restaurant
    [7] Celebrate DC birthday with a bag of hot fries/BBQ Fritos
    [8] Learn about Accounting
    [9] Finish gloves
    [10] Write another short novel

Well, I'm putting off useful stuff, so I may as well do this!


EDITED TO ADD: So, with just under two weeks left (noooo) of my summer, I did a quick review to see how much of the stuff on my list I actually did. I have completed/made some progress in 11 of my tasks... I guess that's okay?
Anyway, I think some things I will endeavour to do anyway, such as TOOTHLESS YES

1. Plot and sort out my stuff so I can novel in August November- STILL DO THIS
2. Try to improve my handwriting?- Yeahhh, knew that wasn't happening
3. Try not to convince myself 2 is futile- Well, I knew all along that it was
4. Get caught up on replies, COMPLETELY- I WILL I SWEAR I'M BETTER IN THE LAST TWO DAYS
5. Cuddly Toothless!- DO THIS STILL
6. Cook or something... eat ice cream!- DONE BUT MORE MAYBE
7. Try to find somewhere to buy pistachio ice cream <3- DONE
8. Do some serious digital art and maybe even learn some anatomy or something so my drawings look feasible- A LITTLE BIT DONE BUT MORE PLEASE
9. Prove Eldar wrong- I admit it, there was no number 9... the deception is too hard to keep up Sad
10. CAN YOU MAKE AN ORIGAMI DRAGON?- YES YOU CAN

Well, here goes... ;-)

1. Get on top of my replies again - so far so good
2. Participate in Camp Nano in August - participated and almost done too
3. Have more write-ins with Gryse - DONE! though we only had time for one Sad
4. Turn my French student into an awesome freestyle speaker - will not get there, but he is improving a little at least!
5. Make a choker with beads
6. Make a few earrings and bracelets - done quite a few
7. Edit at least a part of my novel
8. Read through the second novel
9. Properly use the Darwin Paperblanks notebook
10. Cook dinner for a friend - will be done in September, just need to decide on the date
11. Read many, many books
12. Buy the new The Offspring album (and hopefully like it) - postponed, but will buy the new The XX album in September
13. Find a bedroom for my apartment
14. Decide on wall-colours for my apartment
15. Save up more money - does spending what I saved up count as well?
16. Buy this crazy pair of earrings I’ve seen - done
17. Consider a trip to London to meet DC’ers - it has been considered, but sadly rejected for the time being
18. Fantasize about DC castle/mansion - ah the summer dreaming... ^-^
19. Watch those movies I have on DVD but have never watched (I think there’s 6)
20. Find birthday presents for both my parents - one down, one to go
21. Make an awesome present for a friend (whose birthday is in less than a week, oh crap o.O) - halfway there, finally!
22. Make a scarf (after all, I’ve had the wool lying around for weeks now)
23. Get the CD-drive in my car fixed - under way, one way or another
24. Go for a hike or two - one done so far
25. Meet up with the ex and a few other people - done but most are out of the country again now
26. Lots of meetings with the usual gang - done and more coming still hehe
27. Open Air Cinema! - the one movie I wanted to watch, something came in between, so not done
28. Open Air Music Festival! - done! really crappy music this year...
29. Zumbaaaaa :-) - still doing it, still doing it ^-^
30. Take a week or two off work and do all the above :-p - hooray holiday is approved! and almost half-way booked with stuff already

Alright, now let's see... For this summer, I think I'm going to put the following on my list:

1. Go to Scotland (ticket and hotel booked, so definitely happening!)
2. Have a fantastic time with all the wedding stuff (I assume that is definitely happening too Wink)
3. Camp NaNoWriMo in July
4. A few grill parties at my place
5. Get all my books sorted into their perfect spot in my place
6. Read loooots of books
7. Get a few more books for reviews
8. Edit a little bit, no matter on which novel
9. Write a couple of short stories (in my Silver Filigree paperblanks)
10. Make a few pieces of jewellery
11. Open Air Cinema
12. Open Air Festival (can't go since I'm in Scotland then, sadface)
13. Get my German student through his exam
14. Get birthday presents for a few people
15. Figure out a flat-warming gift for a friend
16. Throw a flat-warming for myself actually
17. Lure a DC'er over to Luxembourg

Sorry that my list isnt going to be very big. I have been live day to day as of late. ANd yes I am still alive. ^^


1. Move to the new place.
2. Have Arielle in August (Dr says everything is going well in that department)
3. Try not to kill the new pet (turtle)
4. Get to the beach
5. Finish knitting blankets.- 1 done 2 more to go
6. Live life to the fullest. ^^

1. Meet with the DCers sometime
2. Go on a mass soundtracks raid
3b. And put them into playlists/games
4. Experimental pages of parts (wings, eyes, face types, horns/claws, body types)
5. Hana's bio and ref page
6. Actually, do more quick images for characters
7. Compose the main layout image
8. Finish off magic basics with images + the fate image for types
9. Look into an alternate deesert chaser design (no, it won't be furry)
10. Complete short modes on RTW for all factions
11. Woo, do the SR faction description.
12. Keep real life out of the summer list; that'll come naturally
13. But survive the next month and a bit anyway
14. Update this list with new stuff/finished stuff as I go...
