| Subject: Fahelinn - deadly delinquent [Dragon, hunter] Fri Jul 05, 2019 3:53 pm | |
| Name: Fahelinn (Dragon tongue: First light) Age: 20 years Breed: Hunter
Fahelinn is a young hunter dragon, born in close proximity to the dragon temples. From an early age he was chased out of the region by larger and stronger dragons, escaping by the skin of his teeth.
Nature: He is tremendously curious, exploring every sight and sound that captures his attention. Being a dragon that both uses and is very sensitive to light magic, he is keenly aware of humans in close proximity to him - while he is unable to simply read the minds of humans and dragons, he can sense their presence by their thoughts. When he does, this makes him excitable and as such he tends to sleep and spend most of his time away from humans and other dragons, yet is drawn to hunting them when they are close by, driven by a mixture of instinct and curiosity. Many times, this instinct has pulled Fahelinn into dangerous situations, where stronger and wiser dragons are laying in wait, or humans that understand the nature of his breed are prepared to deal with him.
Being young, he has not yet learned to control his use of magic, and is both very easily detected by most magic users as well as a liability to himself while trying to eliminate a foe, especially when aggravated. He shows precious little caution in his actions, and has a tendency to rise to challenges, however foolish, when laid down before him. Fahelinn is also a talkative dragon. Just as much as he is curious and drawn to his prey, he often wishes to find out about whatever piece of information may be bothering him at that time, as many of his breed experience little peace of mind until that need is sated. Commonly, this can appear as quirky or playful to begin with in an encounter, as if he is simply a dragon asking questions of the strange human life around it. However, this nearly always becomes frustration or is overridden by his prey drive, especially if someone should indulge him.
Physically, Fahelinn is fast and agile. His nature can instantaneously change from inquisitive to ferocious, just as he can also shift from peacefully sitting in place and listening, to jumping into an attack without provocation. Given how strongly he is drawn to humans by his unhoned instincts, he tends to only extricate himself from encounters when forced to by injury or if he has made a meal of one, and this is often true of his dealing with dragons as well. Fahelinn, having particularly "sharp" instincts has seen more than his fair share of meals, and is arguably uncommonly sensitive, even for his breed. Many hunter dragons "calm down" with age, as their magical nature becomes less volatile and they gain experience of advantageous or dangerous situations. For the time being, Fahelinn is naive and shows little sign of changing as he stalks across Dragons' Cove, only really avoiding the coldest places, where he becomes unusually sluggish.
In the way of relations, it is understandably difficult for Fahelinn to see humans or even other dragons in any truly friendly way, but in circumstances where magic is suppressed, or dark magic can be used against him, he can be surprisingly reasonable as the knot of agitation at the back of his head subsides.
Speech: Focuses on details, sometimes to a nonsensical level, fast talking, naturally loud. Excitable, can become oppressive (and then aggressive). Unusually good speech for a dragon - light influence? ("Off", overly friendly)
