Setting + Reference Maps

If you want to get to know the landscape of the island and the varying qualities of all the regions, you're in the right place.

As a rough guide, it takes 5 days to walk from Quinsilla to Racksom, assuming 8 hours of rest and about 10 hours of walking. With a horse, it is assumed to take about 3 days. More difficult or treacherous terrains will evidently take longer to cross.

Dragon travelling times vary much more. Some dragons can traverse long distances very quickly, or very slowly; speed and endurance stats impact this. These can be found in the Dragon Index.

Settlements

Name:
Size: (Tiny, Very Small, Small) Villages (Medium, Quite Large, Large) Towns (Very Large, Huge, Superior) Cities
Wealth: How wealthy the place is out of 10
Aura: Is this a grim hellhole or a wonderful place to live? (0- horrible, 10- wonderful)
Corruption: How underhanded are things here? Can you trust their political dealings? (0 none, 10 rife)
Crime: A measure of order or lack thereof, is there much violence? (Usually coinciding with corruption as well)

*NOTE* The territorial area of Maledictus Eice and their settlements may not match up; this is due to ownership of a place being defined by rulership. Bolarvian people are self governing, but unfortunately fall into the roaming-zone of Maledictus Eice.

Kaionar City State is also a special case as it is undergoing vassalage to the Surahnian Rebels.

NameSizeWealthCorruptionCrimeAuraDefenders of Dragons' Cove (Descriptions)
CalainaHuge8238Also known as the "loyalist" city, the southern values of honesty, chivalry and camaraderie originate from here
Didienne*Superior10857The capital of the DDC, and arguably the island. It is the most luxurious city in all of Dragons' Cove
Guardians' HavenMedium7119Home of the Guardians and the famous Elites Headquarters, it is something of a pilgrimage destination
HarglenQuite Large7655Unlike its neighbours, Harglen is quite well known for its doubtful loyalty, perhaps for its middling location
N.Grand AcademyVery Large9728The south may teach you to "dance" but surely, in the northern academy, only the most esteemed magi and academics are made
NusfarVery Large6447Legend says the Arch Magician made his home here; Nusfarian people uphold a thriving magical tradition
S.Grand AcademyVery Large7329The north may teach one to ponder, but in the time of action, the southern academy has among the greatest of warriors and values
ShayenneQuite Large7449Picturesque as it is, Shayenne is atop the cliffs by Didienne; it's quite common for Didienne Nobles to own land here
TarzQuite Large4437Following with their "southern virtue", the people of Tarz are reverant of their position as guardians of the water stone
VolfirisMedium3136A quiet and peaceful place, there is little future in volfiris, many of its youth journey north to seek training and experience
YarrowitzVery Large9748The city of artisans is elegant and musical, though not without troubles. Yarrowitz is frequently cowed by Kaionar "Merchants"
NameSizeWealthCorruptionCrimeAuraKaionar City State (Description)
KaionarHuge101095For those with iron skin, ruthless dealing and big ambitions, Kaionar can spell endless fortune. Or an immediate death.
NameSizeWealthCorruptionCrimeAuraSurahnian Rebels (Descriptions)
JiluriaMedium7826The second home (after Kaionar) of blackmarket trading, Jiluria although pleasant enough by day, comes alive at night
New Racksom*Superior8726All hail the King. New Racksom is the capital of the SR, and with many thousands to commandeer, there is no lenience in law
QuinsillaMedium4314Being rebuilt as it is, Quinsilla is now a nondescript, well organised, workers town. A good place for any tradesman
NameSizeWealthCorruptionCrimeAuraMaledictus Eice (Description)
PlurithTiny0000Once a simple community, Plurith has now been razed to the ground by Maledictus Eice and affectionately termed "Halosis"
NameSizeWealthCorruptionCrimeAuraOther Groups & Affiliations (Descriptions)
Corstel (Goblins, Blue)Medium6009The most secretive of the goblin clans, not much is known about the blue goblin sanctuary other than that it is hidden high up in the mountains of the ice plains. Travelers lost in the snow tell tales of being rescued by tall, extravagantly-dressed beings surrounded with fine treasures, but it has never been found
Great Tree (Goblins, Black)Large2535This gargantuan tree is the centerpiece of the black goblin clan, a massive living plant which has been hollowed out through magic and serves as a communal home, surrounded by canopies of treehouses. Extremely violent towards outsiders
Nabiscan (Goblins, Green)Medium3215The hometown of the green goblins, Nabiscan is not a town so much as it is a central hub. Wary of outsiders, they only begrudgingly allow trade with outsiders, often for food
Sand City (Goblins, Red)Huge6927A giant city full of unoccupied architecture, this is where red goblins practice building and make powerful talismans. They are open to outsiders, but it is not uncommon for them to double deal and lie with them. Enter with caution
Elven Combat AcademyTiny8115Located just to the south of the mountains which dominate the island, this academy is known only to the elves who inhabit the Isle Triad and trains its students as warriors, teaching many skills
NameSizeWealthCorruptionCrimeAuraNo Affiliation Locations (Descriptions)
Amellian TribeTiny3155Moving about through the confines of the Amellian forest, these people are suspicious of new folk and hostile to dragons; beware their dragon sacrifices!
BolarfVery Small1043Victims of location, these poor traders of rare corals are often exploited by Kaionar folk, bandits or raided by small ME groups
CaspanSmall3556Few people visit Caspan nowadays; it lies between the four major factions and nobody wishes to be be there when "the time comes"
GolamSmall5466Has the paradoxical image of being both a "bit rough" as well as friendly and relaxed
IronshasQuite Large2882The one openly Tribal Battleblood worshiping place in Dragons' Cove. Violence is to be expected and the rule of law is 'particular' at best.
TurichTiny2238Both isolated and insular, Turich has its own unique culture and shares relations with the Ardan people of the Ice Plains
XanileLarge2792A massing of several settlements into one, Xanile is referred to as 'Kaionar; without the benefits' A glorified shanty town
