Two bachelors and a girl- Tajy, Eldar, and Tegan

Mask rolled his eyes. "Think of it was a repayment for saving my life earlier?" he asked. He really didn't want her to repay him. He honestly didn't need anything. It was chivalry. He was the man, and he was supposed to help out in any way he could, that was how he had been raised, and he wasn't about to change that now. He was going to keep living how he'd been taught to. "But you really have to pay me back, I guess you can. Honestly though, I don't need it." With that he handed Rasera the pouch, which actually had more than enough in it, but that lard ass of a shop keeper could keep the change, like Mask had said, he didn't need it.

When the man had spoken, Mask's head shot towards the man with such a speed and death glare that he even surprised himself. "You'd do well to be a little nicer to a lady," Mask snarled at the man. He was suriously getting closer to just beating the crap out of the shop keeper and taking what he wanted, but he needed to keep a control on his anger and emotions, less they get in the way. This was very unlike him, but then again, he normally didn't spend so much time with one person. "She has it," he growled after a few moments of silence and fumming to himself he lightened his dark expression and focused on a window outside.

Rekin looked at Mask incrediciously, why on Earth would he treat a woman better than what she deserves? He thought it even strange that the woman was talking and Mask wasn't for her. The only time he wanted to hear a woman was when she was yelling his name in bed. The thought brought a sly smirk to his face that he quickly dismisnished and took the bag from Mask and Rasera, counting the coins inside. With a gruff noise, Rekin made his way to a back room behind the desk.

Rasera sighed with some content when the man had left them and turned herself towards Mask. "Thank you, again. My home isn't far from here, and of course you'll be welcome to stay for a long as you wish." She offered, the idea of getting home a pleasent thought indeed compared to this dark, dirty city. There was something off about this place besides the patrons and it made the girl uncomfortable to say the least.

Rekin came back out from the back, holding a small bag containing some dark looking plant. He handed it out to Rasera and waited for her to talk it before speaking. "Brew half of this to a pot, make sure whoever is drinking it doesn't actually consume the leaves." He instructed giving a glare to Mask for a moment. "Now leave."

Rasera looked at the bag, full of hope. This little plant was supposed to heal her father and then he could be back to normal. That alone was enough for her to ignore the rude behavior of the man and she gave a low bow in thanks. "I shall, thank you very much." She turned, to leave the shop waiting for Mask.

Mask eyes the man darkly for a moment then looked back to Rasera. He took a few steps towards her and towards the door, then paused and thought to himself. "I'll be there in a second," he said with a soft smile. He'd wait for her to leave before he'd turn back towards the man coldly. His hand slide inside his cloak and he drew a small sharp dagger. Pulling his arm back he through the dagger at the man's head. The blade skimming the man's hair before it was embedded into the wall just above him. "For the record, I missed on purpose," he snarled to the man, walking towards him. "And be thankful I did for it's more than you deserve. I know of your type. You slim riddled men who believe that women are tools for your own pleasure."

Mask paused infront of the man, and spat in his face. "No better than dogs, the lot of ya." He reached behind the man's head, who looked about ready to soil himself, and yanked the dagger from the wall. The man flinched. "I ever come here again and hear ya speaking like that to anyone, be them male, female, adult or child, and the dagger wont miss. Got it?" With that Mask briskly turned his back on the man, and strolled towards the door. He pocketed the dagger and walked out to join Rasera. A smile on his face, so glad to have finally gotten to do what he's wanted to do that entire time. And hoping probably too hard he'd really scared that man senseless.

Rekin watched as Rasrea walked out, or watched her back end rather and then took careful notice that Mask had not left. When the dagger came flying towards him he did in fact look like he was going to soil himself and was half surprised when he didn't. When Mask spit in his face, he didn't bother to wipe it not wanting to move and set the man off further. He had never seem anyone care about anyone else in this town, let alone to the extend of such a serious threat. He waited until Mask left, before sliding against the wall down to the floor and waiting until the blood began flowing through his large veins once more.

Rasea waited patiently for Mask, looking at the odd root in the bag and smiled warmly at Mask. "Is everything alright?" She asked, starting to walk in the direction out of town and towards her home. It wouldn't take terribly long to get there but every second she had the medical herbs she wanted to be home to give them to her father.

Mask rejoined Rasera and chuckled to himself. "Yeah, I just had to do something really quick," he said. He looked out across the streets and was surprised to see the rain was actually worse. They'd been inside for such a little time. He looked down at Rasera. "Once we get out of town, I have a faster why to get to your house. So long as you don't mind riding a horse." He smiled at her. "Her name's Sorrahkin, and she'd really a sweety, so long as she likes you," he paused thinking to himself for a moment. "And I'm sure she'll like you more than anyone else." He didn't bother to explain that last part.

Looking out at the rain, Mask looked back at Rasera and shrugged off his cloak and offered it to her. "If you want it," he said holding it out, "you can use it for now."

Rasrea smiled briefly at Mask, and nodded to the idea of taking a horse and when he mentioned that she would like her more than most but didn't explain Rasrea thought it best not to ask. Perhaps it had to do with his sister and how alike they looked? Not wanting to bring it up, she kept quiet looked up at the rain fall down upon them.

When Mask spoke again, she looked over to him, and a light blush settled on her face as she took the offered material. "Thank you..." She wrapped it around her, the material covering her smaller frame easily. It was warm and had a woody smell to it. Feeling herself getting even more embarrassed she looked back to him, "Which way to your horse?" Glad that it was night time and help cool the heat she felt on her cheeks.

Mask smiled at Rasera again as she took his cloak. This put him at a slight disadvantage of course when it came to concealing the scar that went from his ear to the back of his neck. Oh well, if she asked she asked, and he didn't mind the thing nor the story so much. He actually rather liked how the evens of that night had played out. It had all been to his benefit, besides his mark of appreciation for his visit. He would have laughed out loud at the thought of his past, but Rasera had asked him something more.

"Oh um..." he paused for a moment. Where was Sorrahkin, now that was a really good question. He never tied the mare up, so she was able to wonder wherever she so pleased. "Hm... Where is she...." He truely seemed to not know where his own horse was, then an idea came to find. "That's a good question, but I can find her. No one's on the streets, so no chance of someone grabbing her I suppose." With that said, Mask put his fingers to his lips and whistled loudly and for a few seconds. "Now we wait," he said laughing slightly.

It only took a few seconds before the sound of hoofs on the wet street ran out through the street and the black, white starred mare rounded the corner and slowed to a walk and then went by Mask, tossing her head, to stand in front of Rasera, nipping at the cloak happily. Mask rolled his eyes and climbed onto the mare's back. He turned back to her and taking the reins in one hand, he held his other out to her. "Ready to go home?"

Rasera smiled as Mask didn't seem to know where his horse was, the unsure notice sort of charming as she listened to his whistle for her. After a few seconds a strong looking steed came from the corner and she couldn't help but be impressed by the loyal nature it seemed to have. She couldn't even get her dogs to come to her unless she had food. She refrained from giggling at her own memories so as not to explain why she was randomly laughing and ended up doing so when the horse started to nibble on Masks cloak. "So sweet." She said, patting the side of the horses neck. She nodded when Mask mentioned going home, getting on the horse and sitting comfortably.

As they rode, Rasera would give him directions how to get back to her home. It was nestled near the woods, and away from the general populace and didn't take long before Rasera said they were close. The cool night air however, usually crisp and cool brought an odd smell to her nose. Something was burning. Confused as to why a fire would be going on this late at night, Rasera gripped the back of Masks' shirt.

Once she instructed him to turn down a well worn, small path she couldn't even being to believe the sight she saw. Her home was on fire, and from the looks of it had been that way for hours now. A cold fear found its way into her gut, and without even thinking, Rasera slid off the horse and onto the ground. It took her a moment to find her footing, but she was up quickly and running towards the burning building. Her only thought was for her father, that she knew was unable to move from bed. Unable to escape.

Mask steered Sorrahkin in the directions that Rasera had pointed him in, and he was confused at the mare grew uneasy. Still she went as quick as she could back towards Rasera's house. When the scent of fire started to fill the air, Mask felt Rasera tighten her grip on his shirt. He tensed slightly. Something was not right, and anyone could tell that, still they pressed on farther. A flash of light caught the corner of Mask's eye, but when he looked Sorrahkin had already gone too far by it for him to see. He kept his grip on the mare's reins tight in his hands, ready for anything that may come there way, or they'd be walking into.

When they reached the path and Rasera told him to lead the horse that way, they came to the end and the scent made sense. The fire wasn't a camp fire nor a cooking fire. The house that Rasera had lead them too was on fire. Mask's eyes widened as he looked out at the fire. Before Sorrahkin had even stopped Rasera was off the mare and running towards the house. Mask didn't hesitate, he leapt off the side of Sorrahkin who by now had come to a quick stop and reared, striking the air with her front legs and snorting as she eyed the house in fear, her head tossing. "Rasera!" Mask yelled. He hit the ground and rushed at Rasera. His attempt was to grab her before she tried to enter the house. He'd wrap his arms around her and try to hold her there.

As Rasera tried to reach the burning house, without any reason or logic she felt strong arms wrap around her and hold her in place. She fought him for a moment, not understanding why she was being held back but once it finally clicked that she wasn't moving she slumped on the ground as the tears began to form and fall down her face unchecked. In that instant she knew her father couldn't have made it out alive, couldn't be in there or have escaped. Her heart was breaking and there was nothing she can do about it.

Mask held strong around Rosera. He held onto her even as sh started to fight, and when she gave in, he knelt down to the ground with her. "I'm sorry Rasera," he said softly to her. He slowly loosened his arms and then let go of her. He knew how she felt, he'd gone through the same thing only when he was younger. He had a mission though to get through, he wasn't sure what to say to her now. He sighed and looked at the house. What was there to say? That was her entire life right there, going up in flames.

Mask stared at the flames. He could go in there, he could just see if maybe there was a way that her father was still alive. He looked from the house to her and sighed. "I could check," he offered. "If you want I could just make sure." He knew it was a stupid idea, but if there was a chance, not that there really seemed to be one, he would go in there. He had a way out as well, it would be risky, dangerous, and idiotic, but he'd done worse.

Rasera sobbed as if her heart was broken, and it was, her only family and home were burning in front of her and there was nothing she could do about it. With tears rolling down her face uncontrollably, she looked up to Mask. Here he was offering to go into the burning building to check for false hope for her. She shook her head gently, "There is no way...He was unable to get out of bed and the smoke would have killed him by now..."

Rasera sat there for a moment longer, half from shock, half unsure what to do with herself. Soon enough she stood on shaky legs and looked to Mask. "I'm sorry, I got you caught up in all of this for not." She gave a pained look back to the house, still burning brightly in the moon light. Her mind had completely shut down at this point, turning her thoughts to Mask to keep from looking at her home. "I wouldn't want to waste anymore of your time..." She attempted at a small smile, but it faded into a sad look.

Mask looked at the fire darkly. Why had this happened to her? How had this happened? He wasn't sure, and he definetly didn't find it fair. Clicking his tongue softly, he felt Sorrahkin's nose press against his shoulder. He reached back and gently pet the mare, rubbing her nose softly. She was still wide eyed as she watched the fire, but she was calmer now than before. She could sense the emotions of the two of them and was more worried than scared. She was also getting soaked, and Mask knew she was half asking to head for shelter. He pushed her nose away and she trotted off to the far trees.

Returning his gaze back to Rasera he was completely unsure of what to do. The rain was coming down heavier, and he knew it wasn't going to be a good idea to stay in the rain any longer. "Rasera I'm so sorry. Is there anything I could possible do for you?" he asked. He literally meant anything. He felt horrible for her. He frowned though and added. "You're not wasting my time," he assured her softly. He gave her a soft smile and was about to add more when he was interupted by Sorrahkin's loud neigh. He looked back at the Mare who was watching something off to there left. Mask quickly turned to look to see what was coming towards them, and swore under his breath.

The wind had been calming, but the rain had been getting harsher, and now Mask understood why. Heading towards them, heading towards the town was a large funnel. A tornado was making its way straight towards them. Mask quickly jumped to his feet and turned to Rasera. "Come on!" he said not going to explain if she hadn't seen it already. They needed to get out of here, now. Otherwise, there wasn't going to much for them.

Rasera looked down, Mask was being more than a saint to her before they had even found out about her home and father and was now offering to do more. Why? She didn't ask, as she had done before, consumed with grief for her father and the loss of her home. She looked back up when the horse as she trotted away and then set her eyes on the burning flames licking at the remains of the house once more. She didn't catch the horses nervous behavior until Mask suddenly told her to come on.

She was confused, not putting the pieces together that something was wrong. She had been soaked to the bone from the rain though she couldn't really feel it but she hadn't really noticed the lack of wind. When it all finially hit her that something big was coming their way, she snapped to, running to Mask and hopefully to safety.

Mask would grab a hold of Rasera's arm as he'd take off towards Sorrahkin. The mare looked like she was ready to bolt, and Mask prayed that today was not the day that his horse decided to take off on him. Luckily, he knew the beast was trained better than that, and that she wouldn't under any circumstance do that to him. He covered the distance easily, the cold from his drenched clothes and skin was put to the back of his mind as he tried to figure out his next move. This was going to be very unpredictable, and if he picked the wrong move, they were all as good as dead.

As he reached Sorrahkin's side, Mask would let go of Rasera's arm and literally jump onto his mare's back. Swinging himself around swiftly, he'd take the reins up in one hand, collecting the mare under him, and then he would offer his other to Rasera, ready to swing her up onto the mare with him. Sorrahkin pranced in fear slightly, her hoofs striking the ground with impatience as she waited for the chance to run as fast as possible. They'd both have to hold on tightly if Mask let Sorrahkin run as fast as she could. He wasn't that great of a rider himself, but if there was one thing he knew, it was how to hold on for dear life.

This was all happening to fast for Rasera to keep track of, her emotions to muddled to make use of and there was one thing she was sure she tasted, fear. Death was not something to wished for, even in the slightest and she wouldn't want Mask to die either. He had gotten mixed up in her quickly changing life and couldn't take it if he had lost his life because of her.

Somewhat in a daze, she found herself being pulled by Mask to the horse and shook her head quickly as if she unscramble the jumbled emotions, she had to be alert and act quickly for the both of them if they wanted to live. When he offered a hand down to her, she took a firm grip on it, and pulled herself in to the horse, swinging her leg over the saddle and seating herself behind Mask snugly. She wrapped her arms tightly around his torso and prepared for the hard ride that they would have to make if they wanted to out run the storm that was currently chasing them. She could only pray the horse beneath her could get them to safety, or at least some sort of shelter to ride it out. "I'm ready." She said loud enough over the whipping wind so Mask could hear her.

Once Rasera was in place on the saddle, and Mask felt her arms around him tightly, he called back to her over the wind. "Hold on tightly, and pray that she doesn't run us off her," he warned. With that, he heels hit the horse's sides slightly and she sprang forwards into a fast gallop. Sorrahkin didn't need to be asked twice, she knew exactly what was needed of her, and that's exactly what she did. Mask gripped the saddle horn with one hand tightly, and the reins tightly in the other. He pushed his weight down into his heels and gripped the saddle with his knees. Not exactly how one should sit on a galloping horse, seeing as you're normally supposed to stand, but how he planned to hold on for dear life, seeing as he was a horrible rider.

The sound of cracking echoed in the air as the branches on the trees swayed and succumbed to the force of the winds. The rain whipped at them from the front and the back. Sorrahkin's speed making the water sting at it hit Mask in the face, and the storm behind them pelting them from behind. Mask didn't even register the cold of the water on him, nor the soft stings of the rain in his face. He was more worried about getting the three of them out alive. He wasn't sure where to go, so he let Sorrahkin lead the way. The horse probably knew more of a right direction anyways. The wind picked up behind them still, and it seemed like the storm was gaining more speed. Mask's clothing, as drenched as it was, whipped against his skin.

Rasera nodded once more, getting an even better grip on Mask and holding on for dear life. She wasn't used to riding rough on a horse but she had no intention of letting go of Mask. As they began their hard ride, Rasera was lucky in that she wasn't being pelted by most of the rain thanks to Mask and kept her head down low and against his back for protection. Her heart beat painfully in her chest and she could only hope that they were going to make it out of this alive.

(Painfully short...)

Sorrahkin's hoofs pounded hard against the ground with an eerie echoing sounds. They were heading in a straight line, and it occurred to Mask what they might run into. Yes, Sorrahkin was a great mare. She was fast and she was strong. She was smart and always came when she was called for. No matter where she got off to. She even knew who to respond to, and who needed to be helped. But there was one thing this mare lacked. She hadn't been able to jump. No one ever got a chance to teach her, for as long as Mask could remember the only one who could teach this stubborn horse anything was Vespira. Of course, fate just had to be against them right now.

The log in front of them was large, and not even a skilled horse wouldn't be able to do this jump with two people on his back. Of course, that was about the time it took for Mask to realize this and Sorrahkin to refuse the jump. Her movements stopped, as the mare quickly tried to stop before the log and do a quick turn to the side and rush around it. Of course, the momentum was enough to toss Mask over the Mare's head. His back hit the log and he fell to the ground. Sorrahkin kept running, and Mask's face was in the ground so he wasn't entirely sure if Rasera had gone flying as well or not.

The air left his lungs and he lay there trying to get air back into his lungs before he'd try to push himself off the ground. Of course, it would also happen that the storm was moving closer. The wind picked up, and Mask felt his body being picked off the ground. He swore out loud as he made a grab for anything around him. The storm moved closer, and the force of the suction of the wind pulled Mask backwards.

Rasera had no idea what was going on in front of her, her face buried in the back of Mask's back and her blonde hair flying around her wildly from the wind and rain. The last thing she expected however was for the horse to come to a sudden and complete stop. Having been so attached to Mask, Rasera went flying with him, losing her grip on him in mid air and in a similar fashion got thrown against the log that was in front of them.

She felt all air leave her lungs and a sharp pain in her head when it made contact with the wood and she landed hard on the ground. As she was about to try and get up to look for Mask, the wind started kicking up and she felt herself being lifted from the ground. She let out a small scream in denial, trying to grab onto whatever was around her and hold on for dear life. Here it was, she was going to die in a tornado.

Mask turned around as the wind picked him up. Wonderful, this was not going to end well for him. He'd have to think of a way to get out of this, and at the moment, he had nothing. 'Gonna have to resort to the dimension jumping,' he thought annoyed. He was going to reach back for his bow and the arrows, which he knew would go flying in a few seconds if he didn't take the black feathered one now, when he heard Rasera's scream. Blinking in surprise, Mask looked around for her, and caught sight of her a little ways away. Swearing he grabbed his bow, and pulled the arrow out and put the arrow between his teeth as he struggled to push away from the wind and make his way over to Rasera.

When he was sure his bow was secured on his shoulder, Mask held the arrow in his hand tightly and worked on trying to grad at the branched of the trees that were still root to make it over to the girl. "Rasera!" he called out, yelling as loud as he could to get her attention. She just had to be a little closer before he could create the vortex and get them the hell out of here. He knew the risk in this, but he didn't really have a choice. He couldn't leave her. Even if it he wasn't entirely sure what bringing someone else would do. He was also more than a little worried about losing the arrow in his hand. He'd only tried to make the vortex with this one. So he wasn't sure if the others worked the same of not.

Rasera looked up to where Mask was, feeling that even if she would try to move she would simply blow away and become part of the storm whirling above them. What choice did she have though? They were running out of time and he at least he seemed like he had some sort of plan. She gripped hard on the tree that was the only thing holding her down and forced herself to start moving. She pulled herself towards him, struggling against the wind but in the end made it to his side, looking up to see what his next move might be.

Mask held his hand out to her, not really giving her much of a choice to take it or not. "Whatever you do," he said, "Whatever happens, Don't let go." He really needed her to understand how important it was for her to not let go. He had never done this before that he could remember anyways. Which was probably a bad sign, or a good one. Depending on how you look at it. He'd wait till she took his hand before shifting the bow off his shoulder and letting the string and arrow be held in both there hands. "And one more thing, don't be scared, I promise this is better then being sucked into a tornado, and you wont see anything except the other side." With that, Mask pulled the string of the bow back, and focusing, he let the arrow fly.

It disappeared a few feet in front of them, in a small hole of blueish black that appeared. The hole grew bigger and wider till it could be called a portal. It swirled with colors of purple, blue, and black. "Lets go," Mask said starting to head towards it. "I promise nothing will happen to you," he added, hoping to coax her forwards and into the vortex. The destination was actually a town back, but Mask wasn't sure how far the distance of this thing was. He'd jumped around before yes, but not normally like this. It was funny how he guess Sorrahkin would head that way anyways.

Once Mask had her hand the very idea of letting go had not crossed her mind even once. Her heart beat in her chest painfully from the fear. She had no idea why he was telling her not to be frightened and that whatever fate he had planned was better than being eaten alive by the storm coming but she tried to trust him. Wanting to get out of this alive seemed like a plan they both agree upon. She watched as he shot an arrow and some dark, swirling vortex opened, looking no more promising than the tornado they were about to meet. But, he seemed to know what he was doing, coaxing her as gently as he could despite what was happening.

Holding on to him as tightly as she could, she moved forward, entering the dark place with him. How on Earth she wasn't supposed to be afraid was beyond her understand as fear beat in her veins and heart. She closed her eyes, not wanting to see if they were going to die or not and held onto Mask for dear life. Whatever their fate was now, was up to whatever it was he was doing.

Mask relaxed when they entered the vortex, and just like he planned, they came out by the next town. They were a little bit away from it, just inside the forest outside of it. The sky was a clear light blue with small clouds rolling lazily along it. The rain wasn't there, there was a soft breeze, and the noise of the town was a normality for once. Of course, Mask first thought was Rasera, as he looked over at her. The portal closed behind them and the black tipped arrow stuck in the ground. "Rasera," Mask said softly, you can open your eyes. We're saf-"

Mask's words cut off as he felt that familiar surge of energy loss. Of course, he'd never had it hit him so hard. His vision blurred, and the strength left his body. Everything went black for him, and he hit the ground. "Crap," he muttered softly as he passed out cold. The last thing to go through his mind before he went unconsious was along the lines of, 'Wonderful. Now what's going to happen?' Of course he wasn't dead, just merely drained after that last exciting jump through dimensions. And oh he'd probably be out for say an hour or so.
