| ‘Ah the delicious sound of a woman’s moaning.’ With a satisfied smile, Del’ure indulged in enjoying the company of this particularly exquisite victim he had come across a couple of days ago. So far, she still proved to be entertaining and her husband certainly did not know what she was up to. Neither did he know that this man, who was currently ravaging his wife in the most beastly ways, even existed.
At first, Del’ure had come to this house to sneak around a bit because he had heard that there might be quite a few valuables to be ‘misplaced’ and among those were rumoured to not only be lovely craftsmanship in wood, iron and whatnot, but apparently the most precious gems were hidden in a safe place somewhere. So far, Del’ure sadly had not had any luck in finding those treasure, but he certainly had one wrapped around him at that very moment. Even if this might not be an everlasting one. Unlike, say, a diamond the size of one’s fist.
First however, he would enjoy her, once again, before he set out on another nightly trip through the house while she was sleeping a deep and satisfied sleep. So far, he had had no luck but the house was really a mansion and thus rather huge. There were so many possible hiding spots that it was no easy task to find secret compartments, hidden holes within the walls and floorings. Niches were everywhere but they were all filled with useless junk or completely hollow and unused – this was also where he noticed that the family’s housekeeping was not doing the bestest of jobs. More than once, his fingers had come out of such a niche covered in dust.
As she lay sleeping that night, Del’ure snuck around the house once again, this time rummaging through the library in hopes of finding what he was looking for. He had had a narrow escape from the butler; the good man being unable to sleep, he had taken to wandering around the halls that night but had luckily neither seen nor heard Del’ure, though the latter couldn’t help but wonder if he had heard other things. Only good that the husband was not in that night – probably spending the night at a hooker’s.
The library was huge, to say the least. And there were so many books that Del’ure was almost despairing at the prospect of having to try at least a good third of them to see whether they contained or hid a secret compartment. However, there was no way around it and thus he quietly went to work, trying to be as quickly and efficient as possible.

| This tavern should be burned to ash and swept away by the eastern wind, Axel thought, the corners of his lips turned down as the particularly rancid greenish liquid fought its way over his tongue and down his throat. He'd sampled a round of each drink that was sold -- it wasn't wise, but he was impervious to tabooed mixes -- and not a single one was any better than regular ale.
"Such failure should be atoned for by way of rape," he muttered, slamming the mug onto the maple bar's surface. He was sure to hide his disgusted expression under the curtain of his dark hair as he pointed to the hat atop the bar beside the not-so-neatly arranged line of emptied mugs. "Alright, now. Give me my money."
There was the sound of upset grumbling and disbelieving murmurs around the tavern, the chime of coins landing atop one another serving to ease the gypsy's annoyance. Sadly, it did nothing to remove the putrid air of the alcoholic mixture from his tongue.
"You're a madman," the barkeep said, clearly thinking of Axel as someone wanting to die and just failing at it. He eyed the gypsy man warily, turning for a moment to place the glass on a shelf. "You should have brought the lot of it back up by now."
"What can I say?"" Axel said, looking up with a lopsided grin." I've got an iron gut." He took his hat and quickly put it on, none of the money falling out. It was a trick he had to learn quickly. The first time he tried, he'd failed and there was an all out brawl for the scattered coins. It was a wonder how far men would go for a bit of rounded pieces of metal.
Then again, he'd just murdered his taste buds for the sake of said pieces. Ah, the circular path of life.
With a grunt, Axel made slid off the bar stool and stood on surprisingly steady feet; his face was red like that of the most precious ruby and eyes as glassy as an opal. To many others, he was drunk as a skunk and an easy mark. Truth be told, he could not get drunk, no matter how hard he tried. He just got unnaturally warm after drinking so much.
However, no one needed to know that. It was one of his many trumps. After all, it got him quite a few damsels in his lifetime.
With a nod, he bade the barman farewell and stepped over the unconscious drunk who'd been his competition. The oaf had fallen out of it after only the ninth round.
Pathetic, he thought, taking a drink from the bottle he managed to swipe while the barkeep's back was turned. Anything to get the God-forsaken taste of bad rum out of his mouth.
"Ah!" Axel breathed in the aging night's air, grateful for the draft that his his shirtless body. He'd lost it after an ambush from a poor young lad who couldn't hold his liquor, nor his dinner. But it was just as well; Axel would have had to strip to escape the rising heat in his body. He sent a coy smile after a pair of street walking prostitutes who had stopped to stare. What was there to hide, really? He was gifted aesthetically and especially well endowed.
Not one complaint from any of his conquests of the night.
He watched them leave, a dark look settling over his features. He looked in the other direction at a manor in the distance; it was the reason he came to this town in the first place. The manor belonged to a noble of some sort. And where there was nobility, there was money.
And no one could have too much money. (not so much as lengthy but I would have given out too much and come so close to GModding....so like...200 words were axed off, heh)

| It was frustrating really how much time he had already spent in this house without having found anything of interest so far. Well, there had been things of interest but he didn’t care all too much for a tiny little diamond in a tiny little ring. Honestly, as a rich man, he could have been less stingy with his wife’s wedding ring, it was almost pathetic. But alas, why should he be generous with his ring when he isn’t in any other respect either – in or out of bed - or that’s what the general rumours said. Not that he believed everything the rumours said but there usually was always a bit of truth to every rumour.
Taking a seat behind the small office desk that was situated at the back of the library, partially facing the room, and still having a nice view out the window, Del’ure sat there, contemplating his odds for a while. “Can’t sleep, sweetheart?” his latest conquest purred behind him all of a sudden and the demon almost jumped out of his skin. How had he not heard her come in? How long had she been there? Had she seen him pillage through the drawers?
Keeping his cool, he replied smoothly: “No, but I didn’t want to wake you so I took a stroll through the house and ended up here.” Her hands had already found his shoulders and were lightly kneading them before she came around and slipped onto his lap. Stark naked.
“You know, your butler is running around like that as well. It’s not a very pretty sight,” Del’ure said, trying not to be distracted by her lavish curves. He could not spend another month in this bloody place trying to figure out where this bloody gem was. It was already annoying him to no end that he had not found it yet, not even a hint.
“Ah yes, Bernie has a penchant for sleep walking, and he never wears bedclothes,” she chuckled, the seductive undertone unmistakeable and Del’ure simply could not resist a teasing. Thus he said: “You, however, my dear, are a sight for sore eyes.” The response was immediate, though unlike most women, she did not try to snuggle or smooch him to bits, no, she was a different calibre. She went straight for his crotch.
“Sugar, what are you doing?” “Don’t you like it?” she purred as she slid from his lap, with one clear intention in mind. “Oh, I do, please continue,” he grinned and leaned back in the chair, arms crossed behind his head, to enjoy the ride.
However, there was something bugging him still, and it was the fact that he could not shake the feeling that by now she knew what he was up to and that he could not have. He was disinclined to disabling her somehow because he did enjoy her very much and why would he waste such pleasure? Yet, she had snuck up on him without him hearing her and that spoke volumes. No matter how sneaky a woman wanted to be in terms of merely wanting to savour her lover, they were never this quiet.
Maybe he should have done some more homework before crawling into her bed for longer than just one night. Alas, it was done now and he would deal with it one way or another. He would have to keep a closer eye on her however. Good thing there was no place on a naked body to hide a blade. It would not do now if she wanted to cut off his personal belongings.
Someone’s here! he suddenly thought as his ears picked up a sound that was neither coming from her nor could have been from the sleepwalking butler. Everyone else was asleep as it was in the middle of the night. It had to be someone else. The husband? Though Del’ure discarded that thought again immediately. He would not even have tried to be silent, unlike this person. Glancing down at the woman on her knees in front of him, she was going about her business – and doing a very good job – without having heard anything. Or so it seemed at least. Maybe his mind was playing tricks on him? After all, he was now doubly alert seeing that he had been surprised by her mere moments previous. Yet, no. There it was again. Someone really was there. But who?
~(*cough* I won't continue like this, I promise. It just happened. Del'ure has his way with practically every woman he meets, apparently me as well. I couldn't not write it o.O)~

| Axel's left eye twitched irritably as he continued on his way through the dark hall of the manor. Climbing in like the stealth master he thought himself to be, he had caught sight of one of the scariest things he'd every seen.
He closed his eyes and rubbed them, vainly trying to get the image out of his head.
"Cannot un-see," he whimpered softly. With a sigh, he cast a cautious glance behind him to make sure that the exhibitionist had rounded the corner and left his range of vision. He shuddered and continued forward. There wasn't much in the way of good profit, from what he'd seen so far. Many of the paintings in the halls were good and fake. Even in the dark he knew what counterfeit paintings looked like. Oils were used to paint the most exquisite paintings. However, this man was a complete idiot.
These were done in watercolors.
Axel shook his head sadly. He had better not be here in vain because he'd endured much to get some kind of information out of the tavern's patrons about the manor and its owner. One of them was even fired from there years before, but still remembered the layout like the back of his palm.
Drunk man, sober words.
With another frown at the taste in his mouth and scarring mental image in his mind, he reluctantly pressed on, looking for the jewels that were said to be there.

| The sound of someone sneaking around did not stop and the longer Del’ure focused on it, the surer he was that it was most definitely not Bernie. Bernie did not sneak, he simply walked probably even in the hopes of being seen, even if that was done unconsciously in his sleep.
She still kept going and Del’ure was disinclined to interrupt her, especially as she was arriving at a rather crucial point in the procedure.
His ears however kept on the footsteps he could hear, if only in very irregular intervals. Whoever was out there was damn good at what he was doing and Del’ure would probably not even have noticed if it had not been by accident and knew what to listen for in another thief.
“Ah, I like my desserts,” she sighed after a while, stretching her legs out and putting her head on his knees. With a huge grin on his face, Del’ure bent down to pat her hair and to place a small peck on her forehead, but she was already dozing off. Without further ado, he picked her up and carried her to the couch on the other side of the desk he had been sitting behind. Everything was conveniently placed for the utmost comfort in this place, yet it was never used.
‘Well then,’ he thought with a satisfied smile. ‘Let’s go hunt me a thief.’ There was nothing more pleasing than surprising a thief, especially when said thief did not know there was another one in the house. While Del’ure would not technically call himself a thief on a more general note, he was in this particular case.
Conveniently enough, the thief seemed to be following the line of paintings, and discarding them all, by means of which his path had lead him past the library door some time earlier. Where he had disappeared to now, Del’ure was not quite certain of as the sounds had stopped while he had fiddled with the woman – maybe he should have done better to actually remember her name.
There it was again! Slow and as silent as a cat, Del’ure snuck closer to the noise and before long he could distinguish a shadowy figure creeping along in the darkness of the hallway. Clearing his throat with an amused glint in his eyes, he tucked his hands into his pant pockets and casually wandered towards the thief. “Well, hello there. Can I be of assistance?”

| Axel started slightly and sighed. Turning around, he looked back at the other occupant of the inky darkness in the library.
"Well," he drawled, already resigned. "You can find me some good paintings now that you'd finally grown tired of your previous task."
Oh he'd known something was going on when he got in. But he wanted it that way so that he could slip in and out unnoticed. Which, by the way--.
"And you heard me how?" He asked, truly curious, raising a dark brow.

| “You speak as though you wouldn’t have enjoyed that yourself,” Del’ure grinned but disconnected himself from the wall nonetheless and strode over to the thief in order to plant himself next to the man. The paintings were forgotten for the time being. This man was interesting, though Del’ure wasn’t quite sure yet why that was.
“Though, yes, she might have been a little loud.” He looked at this intruder, not even blushing over the fact that someone might have been listening in into his private affairs, and instead wondered where the man had all of a sudden come from. Not that Del’ure minded a bit of company of a different kind or even a challenge if need be.
Smiling crookedly at the thief’s curiosity, Del’ure decided to indulge the man a little. “Alright, so instead of giving you the reply that I’m just that good, I’ll give you a hint. There’s a few lose floorboards which go practically unnoticed, especially since the butler is strolling around regularly anyhow – I imagine you made his acquaintance?” Another grin from Del’ure at this. “A thief knows a thief’s work.”
After a small pause during which he intently studied the man in front of him, he asked: “So, paintings, huh?”

| "Well, I would have if she had slightly more class."
Amused, Axel raised a brow slightly, but it quickly came down to furrow with the other at the mention of a particular night walker. He automatically closed his eyes and shook his head to rid himself of the disturbing image.
"Undoubtedly so," he replied. Of course thieves knew each other's works. That was how they outsmarted each other should they have to. If they can, in any case.
Axel tried his best to hold back a smart remark; something along the lines of 'See something you like?' at the way the other was sizing him up. It wasn't uncommon for men, both sober and drunk beyond reason, to mistake him for the opposite gender when it came to his face. However, it led him to think twice since this particular man knows without a shadow of a doubt that Axel was pretty much the same as him.
"So," the other man spoke up, breaking the small pause. "Paintings, huh?"
Axel shifted and ran fingers through his hair. He'd have to either cut it or tie it back soon. Not wanting to suffer during the winter months, tying it back would be the best option.
"Yes, paintings," he parroted. "It's true that people pay top coin for exquisite art. While it would be quite delightful if I should actually wield a brush, taking it and selling it on the black market yields better income, no? But this man apparently has no sense of art whatsoever. I wonder he only got something to say someone lived in this place?" Axel motioned to a caricature of some sort on the nearest wall with a frown of distaste. "At least splurge for oils if you're rich. I can't make anything sumptuous from watercolors."

| Del’ure grinned at the slightly below the belt comment but didn’t say anything further about it. There was no need. The smile stayed on his face at the thief’s reaction at the mention of the butler. Ah, yes, it was an image they had all burned into their brains and would never ever be able to rid themselves of.
The man knew his trade, that much was for damn certain and Del’ure could only chuckle at the ranting over the appalling taste in paintings the master of this particular house had. Most of them really were quite bad. “I bet, we could have done much better than some of these so-called painters,” Del’ure agreed before motioning for the thief to follow him. “Anyways, we might as well get to work then. You want paintings, I want something else, and with a bit of luck, we might both get what we came from by the end of tonight.”
He didn’t have any qualms about turning his back on the man, after all, there was supposedly honour amongst thieves and he for one always held up his end. “I’m Del’ure, by the way,” he said as he was leading the way quietly down the hallway towards the office at the end of this floor.
“There is another one on the next floor which holds a few paintings but might as well start down here in case you already find something useful,” Del’ure explained while stepping into the office. He had searched through it before, but it wouldn’t hurt, doing so again, just to be certain he had not missed anything. Like a secret compartment or something along those lines.
