Into The Shadows

A chill wind began to blow through the air near a large cave at the base of a mountain. A pair of humans weilding swords walked to the caves front.

"Are you sure this is the place?" One asked the other.
"It must be...all this destruction around the cave...it must be his work... We had better be careful." The other replied as they wielded their swords, walking into the caves. The torches were lit, but with each step they took, the room grew darker and darker. They soon reached the main room, but they could barely see anything, despite the array of tourches.

"Ok... He has to be around here somewhere....Keep on guard."

There was a sudden slashing noise, followd by a loud thud. One of the warriors turned around, and noticed that their partner was lying dead on the floor in a puddle of their own blood.

"Oh my G-" They never finished. Something punctured their heart, and ripped it out, devouring it as the human dropped lifeless to the cold stone floor. The last thing they saw as they left this world was a pair of gleaming yellow eyes, their slit pupils staring into their soul.

"Too easy.." A voice hissed. The sound of claws clicking against the cavern floor echoed throughout the cave as the creature stepped out of its cave, looking up to the sky.

"Why do they bother anymore" the beast grinned, revealing rows of bloodied fangs. A pair of black and purple wings unfurled wide, as he threw back his head and roared. The light around him seem to fade into darkness. Such was the power of Shadowclaw, one of the foulest creatures to ever walk the earth. He turned to the cavern entrance, and scratched a couple of lines into the wall. "100 victims...100 poor souls who walked into the darkness and never returned. How i loved each killing, how i loved the feel of their blood against my claws...the taste of it on my tongue....so...devine..." He hissed evilly. His black scaled body absorbed all the light that was around him as he headed back into his lair, waiting for his next prey as the light outside returned.

The dragon rested back in his cave, looking over his treasury and the bones of previous meals. He curled up on the ground, waiting for his next prey.

"All this waiting.... its driving me nuts..."

He then jumped awake, his long forked tongue flickering out of his mouth, tasting the air. "More humansss...more poor souls who are going to walk into their own demise!"

The sheer volume of the roar echos into Shadowclaws cave. A smile crossed his scaled lips. "Another dragon is nearby...." He walked out of his lair, and cast his glare towards the forest area. "I wonder what his intentions are...."

His ears twitched slightly as he picked up on the sound. He looked up towards the cliff, and noticed the camoflaged dragon laying on the cliffs peak.

"Well hello there..." He hissed softly. "I wonder what has called you towards me on this day..." His voice was as cold and unforgiving as can be. "Don't worry, i won't bite you or anything" He chuckled. "As long as you don't try anything on me..."

I laugh. "Its not my fault that the humans are hunting me. Just because they know that i am the decendant of a God, they think they can make some easy money by slaying me. Well, just like my father, i won't die easily. Nor will i allow myself to be slain." He hissed, his eyes flashing red for a moment.

"Ssso... what brings you to my lair? You must have a reason for showing up" He said as he moved closer towards the cliff

He just smiled. "Those two have made my score 100-0. If you stick around though, a few more may come, and maybe then you will see just how I-"

"HALT, BEAST!" A voice cried out.

"Well speak of the devil!" Shadowclaw grinned, turning to face another human, this one brandishing a sword that was at least twice his own hight. "Look who we have here, another wannabe hero. Came to throw your life away?"

The human smirked. "No. This time, your through!" he charged at the dragon, and swung his blade into Shadowclaws neck. It passed harmlessly through, the area cut away dissappering into mist before returning. The human looked in shock. "What the hell?! That should have killed you!!"

"Should have, would have. couldn't have..." He hissed, bearing his claws and fangs. "Do you really think you can dispose of the son of Wyraach Ur so easily?!"

Cleto flew through the air twisting and turning as he wished having fun going through the puffy white clouds and soaking his dark blue scales in the sun's ray's! His belly shwoing off light because it was a very light blue which almost looked white and his icy spike's glistened in the sun's light. His long sharp claw's hanging freely and his strong muscular wing's flapping every so often. His peircing blue eye's scanned his surronding's as he had fin he never let his gaurd down. His pearly white teeth glowed when he opened his motuh to roar just for the fun of it. He dived down into the plain's searching for any kind of life he spotted a rabbit but let it go by him...He peered through the grasses of the plain's and let his forked tounge out of his huge mouth and taste the air for any trace of dragon's....

Back on the ground, the Shadow dragon was snarling at his prey, as darkness began to engulf everything around him. The humans vision was useless to him now, all he could see of the dragons were their piercing eyes.

"Damn you...Show yourself and face me like a man, you coward!" The man bellowed.

"Coward?" Shadowclaw hissed back.

The man charged towards the yellow eyes, weilding his sword and swinging it up, stopping when he saw the eyes turn blood red. The warrior suddenly collapsed lifeless to the floor.

"Well, they do say looks can kill" Shadowclaw laughed,the darkness dispelling, revealing the humans lifeless form, Shadowclaws tail scythe having punctured the humans chest, pulling out the heart and tossing it into his mouth, chomping down on it. Blood splattered over his scaled maw as he hissed contently. "one hundred and one humans down...." He smiled evilly

Cleto peered around and looked at the mountain's and saw two dragon's, they didn't look too nice but maybe just maybe he could sneak up on them...So then Cleto slowly and swiftly knowing what he learned and was taught snuck up on the two dragon's. Cleto made sure his scent woudln't be brought to the two dragon's so he approached them and hood watching them and their movement's...

The dragon was too busy tasting the air. "I would have played a little bit longer...but i can sense something..." His toungue flickered out several times, before finally locking onto the scent. He turned to the area where the third dragon was hiding, and started walking towards their hiding spot.

"There's not much point in hiding, you know-" Shadowdragon started, before stopping suddenly. He turned and noticed another human had appeared from out of the blue, and put a long spear through the dragons chest.

"That ought to stop you once and for all...You might be his son, but i bet that you don't share some key aspects..."

Shadowclaw snarled. "So you think....you can jump in....and try to kill me...by lancing my heart?" He put his hands around the base of the spear, and with a roar of pain, ripped it ouf of his chest. The wound began to heal itself slowly. "Well...I got news for you...what you thought you knew about me....is wrong...Just like him....I have NO heart to pierce!!" He hissed. The human began to back away.

"And now that you have tried to kill me, you've left me with little recourse... i must dispose of you!"

Cleto stepped out and bowed his head down respectivley theis dragon looked like a scary kind of dragon...He didn't wish to get into a fight with it or the other one over there sunning himself or something! "Human's!" Cleto hissed his spike's becoming more spikeier and his tounge flickering out and in more. Cleto then watched as the Shadow dragon take the sword out of where there was supposed to be a heart and Cleto winched at the pain that he must of had.

Shadowclaw licked his blood from the spear before tossing it aside, landing at Cleto's taloned feet.

"Mmm...I have not felt pain like that in quite some time....if i had a heart, i would be lying dead before you... But you can't get rid of me that easily..."

He loomed over the human, his eyes once again glowing a demonic red. "Well...how should we dispose of this human? Should we give him a fighting chance at the least?"

Cleto stood there stunned and looked down at the speak poking it with his tail lightly he scooted away a few feet. Then spoke up "I think you should at least give the puny homan a fighting chance there's no way he'd beat you from seeing what I had already saw!" Cleto said staring at the Shadow dragon and then at the human who had attempted to try and kill the sorta unkillable dragon...

He smiled, before turning to the lava dragon.

"What say you, my friend. What shall we do with thissss human?" Shadowclaw hissed, his long forked tongue flickering out of his mouth as he spoke

Cleto shrugged..."Well which you two decide to do then do it I'll be over here watching and taking in note's I guess..." Cleto said calmly as if this wasn't anything new to him about some dragon's in the world...The Cleto smiled "Or Maybe you can fire him and I can freeze his butt off!" Cleto said with a chuckle.

He smiled at the two dragons. "Those both sound like excellent ideas" He hissed as the human tried one last time to strike me. I raised up my arm and blocked the attack, knocking his sword skywards. It came back down a few seconds later, slicing his arm off.

"Owch, that HAD to hurt!" Shadowclaw roared with laughter as the human clutched at his severed shoulder, screaming in pain as blood gushed out of him.

"We should get that looked at!" I grinned as i shot a small burst of purple/red and black flame at his shoulder, causterising the wound. "We don't want you bleeding to death before we have our fun!" He hissed as smoke rose from his nostrils, flames spilling from the sides of his fanged maw. "Are you ready, Pyre?"

I grinned wide as i basqued in the taste of sulfur and flame building in my mouth, releasing a sizeable fireball that merges with your own. It strikes the human, who is instantly engulfed in the shadowy fire.

"Bullseye!" I laugh. "And such sweet music, too!" I hiss sadistically, listening to the humans blood curdling screams
