| Ok, so here is our nice shiny new 1x1 board. You got an idea for the setting?

| Take yer pick: A seaside scene, slightly chilling with the coming winter, but still pleasant in the autumn sunshine. It's very secluded, being so small and edged on both sides by tall cliffs pitted with caves of all sizes! They're great to explore, but you have to be careful of the tide that's coming in...
OR:
A bustling city, every street filled to busting with people- It's market day! Bright coloured stalls scatter the streets, vendors selling every ware under the sun, their customers milling here and there to find a bargain. Look out for pickpockets, for they are around, if you don't watch your coins!
How are they? | |

| Armeno walked along the beach. His sword dangled loosely in his belt, unused for weeks. Armeno was getting bored, and out of practice. He had nobody to fight with, against, or anything. Nobody to train. The life of a wandering elf with nothing to do was a lonely one, but he didn’t really mind. Flexing his fingers, he bent down and picked up a flat, round stone. With a practised flick of his wrist, he sent it skittering across the surface of the sea, bouncing seven times before sinking into the ocean. Armeno had had nearly a century-well, over eighty years- to perfect his technique. He stretched like a cat. Albeit a large one; maybe a panther or a cheetah. He was considering changing to a slightly more social trade, perhaps joining an army of a cause he believed in. He never had much to do these days, as he never seemed to end up in the right places. He had thought about teaming up with a dragon, but he wasn’t sure if it would work for him. Rolling his shoulders, he swivelled suddenly and stared at the waves, which earlier had been pretty calm but were now getting rougher. In another instantaneous movement, he whipped Levitas out of its sheath. The autumn sun glinted off the crystal set in the pommel as he twirled it in a complicated set of motions, dancing across the beach as he battled imagined opponents. The pale sunlight didn’t do much to warm the chilly air, but by the time he slid to a halt sweat was covering his forehead in small beads. Breathing deeply, he dropped onto a rock and slid Levitas away. Feeling revitalised by his vigorous session, he glanced around him. Seeing a dark opening in the Cliffside near him, he pushed himself off the rock and strode towards it. After a quick evaluation of the physical state of the cave, Armeno walked carefully and almost noiselessly inside. As he waited for his eyes to adjust to the gloom, he loosened his sword. Just in case. Treading forwards, he began to explore the cave.

| The sun was not high in the sky when Static found herself at the beach, the waves lapping calmly along the bright sandy shore. After camping in the nearby forest the night before, she was feeling rather refreshed (or more so that normal); she had not walked for long before she arrived where she was now. And she definitely did not expect to arrived at a beach! Behind her, Tamarisk, her leopard-print horse clopped onto the sand, the sound changing dramatically from the heavy thudding on soil to a soft, sliding swish as the sand moved under his hooves. Out of the woodland that reached down to this part of the beach, the sun shone brightly down, and Static was hot under her thick, all-weather cloak. She looked along the length of the beach for any signs of life, before hesitantly pushing back her hood. Her dark hair fell in waves around her face, thin streaks of white criss crossing down her front bangs. It was nice to have some quiet, maybe she could spend a day or so here before heading back to civilisation? There wasn't much bountyhunting to be done this week anyway, she had checked...
She turned quickly to her horse and unsaddled him, leaving her belongings in a neat pile before covering them in a layer of leaves. It would not be good for some passer-by to come across her things and decide to relieve her of them. Leaving Tamarisk to explore the sand on his own, she walked along the edge of the water, heading towards some black caves not far away. Sometimes pirates of old left their booty in such caves, and sometimes they even forgot their booty!
She arrived at the black entrances, looming deep back into the cliffs. The land was much higher here, and you could not escape quickly inland. She examined the cave's gaping mouth before taking a few steps inside the closest one.

| Armeno heard something. His ears pricked slightly as he spun around, scanning the darkness for the source of the noise. Seeing nothing, he drew Levitas and stepped forwards. He saw nothing as he advanced, finally emerging onto the beach. He cursed and threw his hand over his eyes as the light hit his face, blinding him. Letting light in through a slit in his fingers, he waited for his eyes to adjust, horribly aware of the sound of shifting sand near him. He took his hand away and did a double take. A leopard print horse stood nearby, wearing only a bridle, with an unnatural-looking pile of leaves next to it. Armeno approached warily and brushed the leaves away, revealing a saddle and some other things. (Weapons?) He frowned and listened again. Hearing sounds coming from the cave next to the one he had been in, he entered. Slipping along between the wet, dank walls, he finally came to a wider part of the tunnel. He could hear breath, quiet but there all the same. And it wasn’t his own. Keeping Levitas at the ready, he drew a small candle from within his cloak and concentrated. A tiny spark flew onto the candle and he smiled in relief, raising it high to let the meagre light fall onto as much of the cave as possible. He saw a figure in front of him. Wavy black hair, cloak with the hood down... he couldn’t see much else. He was sure she’d have heard him by now, but just in case, he lowered Levitas slightly and spoke. ‘Hello,’ he said.

| As Static stepped further into the cave, the bright sunlight slowly faded from view. This place was one not used to such things, with slime-covered walls and the faint dripping of water, monotonous. Pale stalactites hung from the ceiling of the cave like bats, and here and there a small stalagmite struggled upwards from an upturned rock. The only colour in the cave seemed to belong to an orange starfish, washed ashore by a high tide. Static stooped to pick it up, the dead creature dry and baked from salt. She threw the animal away from herself in disgust, and it shattered into the darkness.
She turned to leave the cave again, finding nothing more of interest, and not wanting to explore further without a candle. She heard the crunching of sand, then a light burst in her view- There was someone else here. She stumbled backwards, holding a hand in front of her face to block the light; now her eyes had adjusted to the dark, it was bright! One of the tentacles from the starfish crunched under her boot. ((EWW))
Needless to say, Static was somewhat taken aback when the figure said hello. And the fact he had a sword didn't help either, especially as she didn't have one (she had "lost" it a couple of weeks earlier, and hadn't found a suitable replacement yet). She gaped at the tall elf standing before her.
((Static has just general provisions in her bags; food, water, blankets etc.))

| Armeno looked at the gaping and astounded face of the woman before him. She looked like she was unarmed, so he let his sword drop to his side. ‘I’m not doing you any harm if you’re not doing any to me,’ he said calmly. ‘I’m Armeno Narandal.’ He glanced around the cavern, noting the shattered starfish, the stalactites clinging to the ceiling and the stalagmites stretching up to the sky. ‘I take it that ostentatious horse outside is yours?’ he continued, beginning to walk out of the cave. Once standing outside in the sunshine, he put two long fingers to his lips and whistled, loud and long. In a fairly cliched way, a sleek black horse sidled out of a nearby cave. It was tall, with an elegant arched neck and a high-carried tail. An Arab. It had a very simple bridle and a saddle pad with saddle bags attached. Armeno walked over to the horse and stroked its ears fondly. ‘This is my horse, Veloxpes. He’s a good horse.’ Veloxpes tossed his head, snorting, as Armeno sorted through the saddle bags and pulled out a slightly battered apple, which he dusted off on his tunic and held out to the horse. Veloxpes crunched it up, then shook his head to dislodge a fly that had settled on his nose. Armeno patted him once, then turned back to the woman. ‘So, you would be?’ he asked.

| Static quickly resumed a more normal approach, drawing her cloak around her, dropping her eyes low to the ground. As surprised as she was at finding an elf in the cave with her, she wasn’t one for showing such emotion. She kept quiet, gathering her thoughts for a while, and letting her eyes adjust to the candlelight that lit the two. When the elf went to step outside, she followed him, not turning back to look at the starfish alone in the cave.
“Yes, Tamarisk is mine.” She spoke quietly, looking at the spotted horse. He certainly was “ostentatious”, a word she had not heard to describe her horse before; and she had heard a lot! He snuffled along the beach, turning a piece of seaweed in his lips before dropping it again to explore something else. He lifted his head when Armeno whistled, ears back.
His horse was something of a beauty too, black and slender, very different to her own more heavily built horse. She kept her distance. “He looks like quite a sprinter.” Unlike her Tamarisk, who was perfect for longer endurance rides, just what she needed. She let her own horse enjoy himself on the beach; it wasn’t often the two of them stopped for a while, and he needed a break from human company once in a while to do his own horsey business.
More questions! People you met always wanted to know everything about you before they let you leave these days; it was never like this in the past. “I’m a traveller.” She replied.

| Armeno nodded slowly. ‘I see. I suppose Velox is a sprinter. His name does mean ‘Fastfoot’. He’s a good battle horse, though I don’t always ride him in battles. He can do long distances too, though- Arabs have always been used for endurance riding as well.’ Velox’s mane rippled in a slight breeze and he shook it out, showing off as much as a horse can. The arab sidled up to Tamarisk. He didn’t get to meet many other horses. Armeno smiled at the animals, then turned back to the woman. ‘A traveller, huh? I guess you could call me a traveller of a sort. Where’re you headed to? Anywhere in particular?’ Armeno stared out at the sea, absentmindedly rubbing at the tip of one of his ears. He’d been drifting for a while now. Perhaps he should make for a city, there was usually something to do there. Or at least some knowledge of some work for a warrior. He cast an eye over the woman, trying to deduce a little more about her. She looked like she knew how to handle herself, and now he looked more closely, she was quite unusual physically. Her hair was brown, medium length, with a few tendrils falling around her face and the rest tied back. The loose strands were branded with white, and she wore armour on her top half. Her arms were in a green shirt with black gloves coming just past her wrists. Her legs were encased in long boots with tight, emerald green trousers. And an emerald green cloak. Armeno frowned; she was definitely a woman of combat. She almost seemed to crackle somehow. He shook himself; nobody crackled, except a dragon breathing fire. A fearsome sight; he’d only seen it once. He looked back to the woman’s face. ‘I bet you know a little something about fighting,’ he said, staring straight into her eyes. He didn’t generally care that much about who people were, just what. If they were a threat to him.

| “Not really heading much-place.” Static replied, wondering herself where she was really going. For some weeks now she had just wandered from place to place, moving on when she got bored of a place, or couldn’t find any rumours to pursue. Where was she really going? She always went so fast from here to there, pushing ever onwards, moving, moving- There must be something between here and there… Her eyes drifted to Tamarisk enjoying the company of another horse, and a break from always travelling. He was still trying to eat seaweed.
“Fighting?” A small flicker of a smile passed over her face. She looked back at the elf, turning to face him fully, instead of the faraway horizon. “Why, do you want some practise in getting beaten then?” Although she didn’t own a sword (at this precise moment), maybe they could opt for something different? She wasn’t going to admit that she was sword-less without provocation though, no, that would be foolhardy. “Or would you rather want to be beaten on horseback?” She gestured to the horses, quietly enjoying each others company. “Lets see if your Arab is as good as my Knabstrupper.” She looked back into Armeno’s eyes, challenging.

| Armeno’s eyes narrowed briefly, before one eyebrow slid up slightly. ‘You seem pretty confident for a woman with no weapon,’ he said, raising Levitas again. ‘Might as well let Veloxpes get some practice, I can’t train him with techniques. Don’t worry, I’ll try not to hurt you too badly. After all, this is just a friendly match.’ He swung himself up onto Veloxpes’ back, adjusting the numnah slightly so that his thick clothing wouldn’t rub the horse, then flexing his muscles, he raised Levitas and twirled it. ‘At the ready,’ he said, smiling slightly. But inside his mind was racing. This woman could surely not have a weapon, yet there must be something she had going for her or she wouldn’t be so confident. Unless she was simply mad... But he doubted that, she seemed like her head was screwed on OK. He tightened his grip on Levitas, readied Veloxpes, and waited. Ooc: I somehow feel a spate of shorter posts coming on. Unless one of them is down in one post.

| "How would you know if I had no weapon?" She countered, wording her sentence carefully to preserve mystery. At his assertion of not hurting her, she scoffed, shaking her head slightly. Did he really think that she would be beaten so easily?
She stepped over to her saddle, unclipping the attachments at her own pace, sliding the odd useful item into a fork in her armour, perfect for concealing a dagger or a small bagful of precious stones that she had stored some extra electric energy within, for case of a fight that she was ready for, such as this one. Her long cloak concealed these actions, until she stood, hefting the saddle in her arms and swinging it onto Tamarisk's back. She tightened the girth, then joined Armeno on horseback, setting her feet solidly in the stirrups. The elf seemed tense, well, he might be; not knowing what faced him, seemingly unarmed, which was a strange enough occurrence in a training battle. She gave a smirk and kicked Tamarisk into a canter, arcing around the mounted Armeno with a yell. "Let's see what you can do then!"

| ‘Well, I see no weapon on you, and there were no weapons in your possessions, therefore unless your weapon is hidden in your shoes and therefore is extremely small-as you have almost skintight clothing on, I can see it isn’t in a pocket or anything similar- you have no weapon. But I’m sure you wouldn’t be so confident in yourself if you had no secret offence, so I will probably be partially surprised- in that I will be surprised by whatever your hidden offence is, but not that you have one.’ He reeled all this off extremely quickly, as he double checked the girth on his own saddle and soothed his suddenly extremely excited horse. ‘However, of course I have overlooked your armour,’ he realised, staring the woman in the eyes having tightened the girth another hole. ‘You could feasibly conceal a small dagger in your armour, so I must keep you at a fair length and use my longer weapon to my advantage. I am not unduly worried, though, if you wish to see all I can do, as I supremely doubt you have had over eighty years of practice in swordplay, not that you have a sword to play with.’ Veloxpes had been skittering in a circle to try and follow Tamarisk’s movements while staying on the spot; now Armeno squeezed Velox’s sides gently, and let the reins slip slightly longer in his hands, giving the horse his head. Recognising the signs of a battle ride, Velox tossed his head, pranced sideways and then shot forward. Typical of a nervy hotblood. Armeno called one last comment, ‘Strange that I should trust you sufficiently to enrole in a practice fight with no set limits when I know nothing of your abilities or even your name.’ He smiled briefly, flashing his teeth at her, and then shifted slightly, pulling gently on the left rein, moving the right rein to the left a little to press softly on Velox’s neck, and twisting his torso an inch or two so his right leg was slightly further forward on the horse’s sides than his left. Veloxpes responded almost violently, swerving to the left and right up to Tamarisk in about a second from three metres away, living up to his name. Armeno feinted at the woman’s unprotected arm, her right, as it was obviously her predominant arm, then seemed to stab straight for her armour, but actually letting Levitas slip off the edge of it and onto her unprotected stomach- if the blow landed in a real battle, it could well be fatal due to the vital organs there, thought Armeno. Ooc: What was I saying about short posts? You can disregard it till further notice; this is my longest post so far, thought also only my sixth.

| “Well thanks for the rundown of the whole place. That was fascinating.” Static’s voice was laced with sarcasm, but she still watched her opponent closely. So, he was that old eh? That was an interesting fact to squirrel away… Maybe that wouldn’t be so much of an advantage- Sure, experience, but his tactics might be old-fashioned too.
Armeno suddenly leapt his horse much closer to Tamarisk, swinging his sword close to her arm then scraping it across the metal of her armour. She twitched her heels into the horse’s side, making the stallion bunnyhop out of the way. Instead of sliding through the crack of her body plate, the sword slid off her armour, leaving a thin silver scratch but little more. The bunnyhop was uncomfortable, but Static kept Tamarisk in a canter, circling around the beach tightly, his hooves splashing in the small waves that rode up on the beach.
Distancing herself from Armeno and Veloxpes, she held a hand out in his direction, spreading her hands wide. Unlike her normal style of electricity firing- big, green and powerful- she adopted a softer method, sending smaller, less powerful but almost invisible sparks of electricity towards the elf, shocking him with repeated weak strikes as the sparks hit one at a time, sparking across the air close by with tiny flashes of yellow.

| Armeno's ears twitched a millimetre or so as his sword scraped across the armour, making an unpleasant noise, but he showed no other reaction. He did as Static had, circling away from his opponent and then turning Veloxpes back to face her- he left out the awkward hops, though. Before he could attack again, he felt a stinging on his leg. His eyes narrowed, and several more stings followed. He caught sight of a small yellow spark, and comprehended, urging Velox away. The horse was all too eager to move away from the painful shocks, and Armeno appraised his opponent with new eyes. He was sure that she was capapble of worse, but how much worse he didn't know. He decided there was little he could do the evade her strange power and went for an obvious, strong attack at her neck, while looking at her arm once more- feinting a feint. He intended to just stop his sword a little away from her neck if he suceeded. Velox once again danced forwards at the touch of Armeno's heels. The elf prepared to direct his horse well away if his attack failed- he didn't much feel like another dose of electricity. | |

| A thin smile crept over Static’s face as she saw her opponent’s discomfort, but it didn’t last for long, as Armeno sliced at her neck with his sword. She saw his eyes flicker to her arm, her smile dissipating quickly. She tugged on her reins, Tamarisk sliding to a halt, sand flying around his hooves. She ducked away from the swordpoint, swapping her hands on the reins to free her right hand, which she flashed wide at Armeno under her body, bent over as she was. A wide shield of electricity sprung from her hand like a web, growing from the point in a few seconds to protect her from the swordpoint. It crackled green, sparking around the sword as they crossed, pushing it away from her.
Static kicked Tamarisk into a faster canter, creating a gap between the two opponents again. Her shield dissipated into the air as she moved away, but she followed up the use of electricity with more, shooting a small green ball at Armeno, not expecting it to hit, but it was fun anyway.

| Armeno showed no reaction as his sword bounced off Static's shield, but instinctively moved himself. He had no idea later what aids he had employed, but at the time Veloxpes moved backwards, scuttling uncomfortably a couple of metres. Armeno twitched the reins and the horse dodged out of the way of the orb of electricity. A stray mane hair was singed, but no other damage was done to the pair. Armeno showed none of his thoughts on his face, but he was a little surprised at how versatile Static's magic was- he knew that in a proper fight, he'd have a hard time marking her at all. He noted that he seemed to be making a lot more attacks than her- but then, she had no need to be at close quarters to attack him. A thought struck him, and he turned Veloxpes into a wide circle around Static, keeping on the move at varying speeds so it would be harder for her to strike. He then turned a little, once the horse was on an established curve, and checked across the strap of the saddlebags. He couldn't remember whether or not he had taken this item off his horse- but he hadn't. A tall, curved, polished wooden bow was strapped across the horse's back, with a sealed quiver of arrows lying next to it. Armeno wasn't the best archer in the world, but he could usually hit his target. He now picked up the bow and quiver, uncapped the quiver and slung it over his shoulder and head so it was diagonally across his body; the bow he just rested on his shoulder. Feeling a little happier now his attacks weren't as predictable, he tightened the curve sharply so he veered back towards Static and Tamarisk. He rained a flurry of short, rapid cuts upon Static as the horses slowed next to one another, before beginning to move away and nock an arrow to his bow- he just hoped that his opponent wouldn't try any more electricity on him.

| Static’s ball of electricity missed, as she expected it to. Long distance attacks like this were fair enough, but she started to long for her trusty scimitar that she had lost. ((It got disintergrated by Phoebe in a fight with Static)) She pulled Tamarisk to a halt as Armeno turned Velox around him in a wide circle, saving her electric strikes for the moment.
When Armeno leant behind her to take a bow from the top of his pack, Static gave a snort of disbelief. “Do you really think you’re going to hit me with that?” she scoffed, looking sceptical. Sure, it was a nice enough bow and everything, but he couldn’t even get a hit in with a sword, let alone a long range weapon… Although he didn’t seem to be trying the weapon straight away. As he tightened his circle, she stayed her ground, Tamarisk shifting uneasily underneath her. As a series of short cuts came towards her, Static threw up a minimal shield, deflecting the blows lightly. She was saving her energy for later, to zap this elf into oblivion. Static was sure she could think up something big to make this fight more amusing.

| Armeno smiled. 'Who said I was going to hit you with it?' he said. Her expression seemed to be turning a little patronising- and her face looked like she was scheming something. 'I would advise to keep this a practice session, as we agreed,' he warned, unfased as her shield deflected all his attacks. 'Otherwise, you would have broken our arrangement, and then I would also have to break it.' He then employed a different tactic. Her shield seemed fairly weak. Using his strenght and speed to the maximum, and thanking something for making him an elf to give him a small advantage here, he rained about five hard blows on one spot of the shield, hoping to break it here. He ended with a small stab aimed abotu a centimetre to the woman's side- if he had successfully broken the shield, then this would give the woman a scratch just below her armour, but nothing serious. In a real fight, if it worked he could have ruptured an important organ or at least given her a large hole in her side.

| “Sure, practise session.” To be honest with herself, she had almost forgotten that it was meant to be one, and silently chastened herself. She was so used to real fighting, it was strange not to automatically go in for the kill- But there in itself was a reason for practise sometimes.
As Armeno concentrated his attacks in one place, she thickened her shield there, deflecting his blows more fiercely. They almost seemed to make sparks as they bounced off. Her shield reduced a little around the edges, but not by much. It wasn’t hard to keep such a low-power defence up, but any saving of power was helpful. As the elf moved the point of his sword slightly, away from the focus of his earlier attacks, Static gave a laugh. “That’s not far enough to get in a hit. May be a long way for an elf, but not for a human!” Her shield was still pretty strong, and deflected the sword easily as Tamarisk danced away from the close vicinity of Velox. She was starting to enjoy this practise fight!
Concentrating her shield, Static formed it into a small ball, rather lighter than her normal, shocking electric balls. It was rather pretty, sparkling slightly at its centre. Balancing it for a moment on her fingers, she shot it towards Armeno, the sphere lengthening as it accelerated towards the elf.

| Armeno huffed as Static guided Tamarisk and the horse pranced away once more. He then watched the sphere carefully as it blurred towards him, a streak of green beginning to form behind it. At the last moment, he jerked Veloxpes sideways and swung his sword at the energy ball. He was curious to see what it would do; he hoped it would bounce back towards Static, and possibly shock her. Any electricity that ran down his blade was halted by the stone hilt. However, he had slid his bow down his arm, and now his hand almost blurred as he nocked an arrow to his bow and fired it, aiming for Static's shoulder. HE could heal that easily enough if it hit badly. His main objective was to get the arrow into her while her shield was down, in the orb of energy she had shot at him.

| As Armeno swung at the energy ball with his sword, Static gave a cry. “No, wait!” But it was too late, he had already hit the ball. It shattered with enormous force, green electricity sparking out in all directions, along the elf’s sword, crackling to the ground. She didn’t even see the arrow that Armeno fired, concentrating on controlling the loose bolts of electricity that were still snapping through the air. She threw a wide shield around it, then quickly crushed it, containing all the electricity within. But it was only temporary, for the arrow distracted her attention, hitting her shoulder squarely. She gave a yell of pain and Tamarisk shied, dancing sideways across the sand and into the water. She clutched at her shoulder, fitting her fingers around the shaft of the arrow, unnatural. She tried to keep her attention on controlling her electric ball, directing it to smash against a tree and dissipate harmlessly into the plant and the earth below before releasing her concentration and clutching at her shoulder harder, hot pain burning beneath her fingers and pounding around the shaft of the arrow, still embedded in her muscle.

| Armeno gasped as the electricity exploded everywhere, the flickering jags of energy forking through the air. He watched a large bead roll down his sword, amongst the random barbs the green light formed. Nearly all of it was blocked by the stone hilt, and he sighed in relief, but was saved from a flying bolt only by Veloxpes shying away. He breathed out in relief when Static recalled the electricity, then winced as the arrow struck. For a moment, the energy burst out again, before Static recontained it. Armeno watched as it was sucked down to the grpund through the tree, then spurred Veloxpes towards Static as she clamped her hand to her shoulder. 'Take your hand away so I can see,' he said to her, his hands already moving towards the arrow. 'I can probably heal this, that's what I was intending to do. Incidentally, I'm assuming our training session is over. And could I maybe get your name now?' Armeno glanced up at her face.

| “No, get away!” Static instinctively flinched away from the elf’s reaching hands, causing Tamarisk to jutter uncertainly beneath her. The horse was all keyed up from their practise, and being around another horse. She looked away, flicking her hair over her face to hide the fear that had shown on her face. She took a deep breath, her hand still over her shoulder, then looked hesitantly up. She would have to trust him.
She turned Tamarisk in a tight circle, bringing him up close to Veloxpes, closing the gap that she had created between them. Slowly she peeled her fingers away from her shoulder, her fingers already sticky with blood where it had seeped through the thin fabric of her shirt. A throbbing pain returned to her skin, pulsing around the shaft of the arrow where she had pressed against it. She sucked in her breath- That hurt. “Its…I’m Static.” She said cautiously, her brashness all melted away with the pain. Now she just felt defeated… What was happening to her lately? First the loss of her sword, now this?

| Armeno held up his hands as the woman and the horse both skittered away from him, and then looked at her quizzically as she shook her hair across her face. Her shoulders moved, and then her face turned back up to him. He looked steadily at her, then she moved Tamarisk round in a small ring to meet Veloxpes. Both horses were still keyed up, and Armeno thought they would probably do better to dismount before he tried to heal her arm; it wouldn't help if either horse ran away during healing. As she removed her hand, he saw blood on her fingers and staining her shirt. She drew in a sharp breath, but he didn't look up; it was to be expected. He examined the wound briefly, then nodded. He did look up as she said her name. 'Nice to meet you, Static. I can get this, but it'll be best if we sit on the ground. I'm not entirely sure how much energy it's going to take, and we don't want out horses getting bored. It's going to feel a little odd, like something's being pulled inside your shoulder, but it'll be completely healed in about a week, and it'll be well sealed anyway, just a mark and possibly some aching.' He slid off Velox, and stroked the horse's nose to calm him a little.
