C1 Racksom~~~~And then, there was War~~~~(5th Board)

Jackdaww swore aloud as he caught sight of Static. He failed to see that she was in no fit state to fight, and tried to stand up again. Measle hissed, lightning crackling between his back teeth as his scales bristled, and he held up his wings to protect Jackdaww. The broken wing hung awkwardly, revealing Jackdaww’s face as he peered around. Blood had near enough caked his left eye shut, and that side of his face had become a gory mess, but his right eye burned with a dangerous fire. “I still need to know your name, but I’m starting to think I don’t care.” He shouted over the noise of the battle around them. Measle hissed at him like an angry cat, and whispered to him that he needed to shut up and run, but Jackdaww wasn’t listening. He was seeing red, and it wasn’t just from the blood in his eyes.

Starling heard a loud noise from near the west gate, and turned to look. From the spire she stood on, she could make out the shapes of two dragons and a few people, along with a few blobs that she couldn’t see clearly, and decided she’d best have a look. She was beginning to wish she had been more involved in the violence – simply because se had missed it all, but knew that it would make her ill if she had been. Either way, she stretched her wings and glided down to the wall.

She stood on the wall just above the larger dragon, and held her hand up over her face as a searing flame torched the ground below them. She felt the outer feathers of her wings char and singe, and flapped them to cool them off. Through burning fingers, she watched the fights below. She saw one man with blood streaming down one side of his face, and averted her eyes. This really was going to be too much for her, but it was too late to go back now. Instead, she pulled her bow over her head and an arrow from the quiver at her waist. The fletching glittered like her own wings as it caught the light from the flames, and she focused her attention on that so she didn’t have to look at the battles for a moment longer.

Lotharia studied Talos for a long moment. She had come into the city to try and take some of its pain away and while she wanted to do just that she couldn’t very well leave this band of humans and winged humans to themselves. She bobbed her head slightly in a yes, some of her soft pink feathers falling around her.

“Seems you made a friend, Talos.” Lena grinned, and was turning to leave when another band of people were coming towards them. There was a man, holding someone in their arms and they looked in pain. Lena sighed, they were getting nowhere like this but it couldn’t be helped. “This one can.” Lena gestured to the odd dragon.

Lotharia. Lena heard in her mind out of nowhere and nearly jumped out of her skin. Like Talos she wasn’t used to hearing another voice in her head and the last time she did from a dragon it was trying to eat her. She pushed back the not so pleasant memory and saved it for later. This dragon was willing to help and had not tried to eat her, a plus in Lena’s book. “Her name is Lotharia. Not really sure what she is or where she came from but she seems to be nice enough.” Lena said, looking down to her leg where the arrow had previously been.

Lotharia moved silently to Static and Armeno stopping just near them enough to hold her head down against Static’s arm. Within a couple of seconds Lotharia felt the same magical pull on her and the warmth of her healing spreading to the couple in front of her. So many people were injured…She noted with ease and stepped back to allow the two room to move once more.

Jackdaww snarled as the new man swept Static onto the horse, but Measle just nodded to them. “Thanks for that.” He mouthed silently to the man, before kicking Jackdaww hard in the stomach. “You are an idiot, Jack! Look at yourself! You can barely stand, there is no skin on your sword hand and you can’t even open your left eye, and you thought you could fight her? You really are dense. I’m starting to wish my egg hadn’t hit you so hard when it landed on you.” He snarled under his breath. Jackdaww snarled back, but let it go. He wiped his face with his sleeve and winced when he realised how deep the cut was. He tried to open his eye and found that – although it still hurt – he could just about see.

Measle folded his good wing again, but the action of opening them had shifted his broken one again. “We need to get this sorted out, jack. Properly.” He said - nodding towards the direction Static had just been taken away in. Jackdaww sulked at the fact that his primitive healing techniques had gone unnoticed, but had to agree. The pair silently began to walk that way – slowly enough to not pass Static on their way.

Xavien though these beings' methods of hiding things a little crude... that place in the wall had been fairly plain in his opinion. Youd think someone could make a place unseeable but he supposed that their work was limited by well, the materials which they had of course. Although he did get a snatch of a sight of Siofra just watching him, let alone with those eyes seeming to just absorb his form too. He couldn't help but grin slightly once hse bent to get what might be in that little chasm in the wall. Though his demonic eyes flashed, once seeeing what she brought out of that hole. "Yeah, thats gotta be it." He growled. Looking over her hsoulder a bit, to see exactly what was on those things. Just alot of data on the town, not too much more in truth. He could see where both sides would find that quite useful however.

Though once Siofra squirmed into his arms again he chuckled. He tilted his head though, his tail grippd a little box he saw in the romo too. Well it was a little chest, it could lock and such. "Ive a better idea, a much better one." He told her. Taking the papers he stuffed them in that box and locke dit shut. "So we dont get caught at all, especally me." He said to her with a grin. Rather he touched the mind of Kayoss at that point too. ~CATCH!~ He said simply, then pulled away his mind, but he chunked the chest HARD. It whizzed through the air, but Xavien knew where it was going. "Now itll get to the side you want it on easy, and we will never be known to have done it. Plus it cant be found by someoen inconspicuous." He told her with a nod. But with that, he jumped out the window with her cradled in his arms, his wings stretching to catch the gentle breeze... controlling his flight as he flew slowly down to the midst of the Surahnian armies and such. Beginning to scan for Zartear once more in fact, thinking this might be wise to give to him then. Though he didnt drift down yet, incase Siofra had a better idea...

Kayoss chuckled slightly at the sunblazes' words. "Such a sweet girl you probly could be, yet you wanna chew someones' head off with words and fire. So unbecoming of a lady like yourself." Shi said with a grin. In truth, shi had a very, very solid plan behind what shi was doing. This thing as all roiling heat and muscle. Just what shi had in mind too. This could be more destructive then hir Napalm had been! Shi just had to push, and aim that aggression the right ways. So hard to do for most but Kayoss knew shi could succeed at it for sure. This dragon playing right into the hand of it too, getting all bothered over such simple words. Yes, this would be wodnerful. Though frowning as hir mind was touch. Catch? Catch what... oh. Thats what... Shi grinned, knowing how to handle this. But Kumiko was coming again too, this was getting to be a bother... Kumiko was an official nuisance to hir.

Kayoss turned and grinned, feeling the flames rushing from Arasolra... Kayoss was planning to use this, use her to hir advantage fully. Shi stomped the ground, letting loose a quick shockwave at the one charging hir. Dodging sword swings too, but leaping att he last moment. Jumping very high, and spreading hir wings. Catching the breeze as the flames torched the ground and air beneath hir... Shi flapped quickly, using Chaotic energy to swirl about hir, hold her aloft so shi could hover properly if need-be. Shi swung hir odd Swords in hir fingers, nowhere enar either of them, but as shi swung, the swords seemed to fling from hir fingers and spin at the two, like a most deadly sawblade. turning slightly even, seemign to almsot follow them. More swords appeared bewtween hir fingers too. These blades could cut through scales and steel and brick, seeming very heated with Kayoss' own power seething in them... Dragonborn blades a very deadly thing to use as a weapon for sure, let alone for a draconic like hirself, able to bend them like this to hir will. Let alone replicate them so quickly with her Chaotic prowess. But in the air, shi moved quickly, catchign the chest suddenly that was flying right for hir. She stowed it away too, pretty sure the thing was very important.... Shi would be very sure Atleon got it.

Gorz tilte dhis head a bit, surprised at Rilos' reaction. He blushed a little too, seeming well, saddened by such an angry reaction in all honesty. "'Ey, im sorry mon. I just thought da help wold be welcome to ya, plus da most logical path for me ta take. Hard for a healer to walk through a battlefield without someone to take the brunt of damage. Basic concept mon. But if ya dont wanna help me I suppose ill hafta find him myself." He said. Well disappointed of course, this would be more fun with someone to heal and talk with on the way but alas, not everyone was so sociable it seemed.

Xavien knew his move had been a good one. He knew the defender who now had such, would most definently not lose it. Kayoss was never one to lose anything, even if thieves were after it who were jsut huge. So this meant that chest was fairly safe. It was imprtant, after all. Why not have one of the most powerful things on this battlefield holding it? KAyoss wanted a good fight too if he kenw hir, so this would obviously bring it about. Xavien rested safe in his decision as he flew with Siofra, eyeing everything below. Every powerful wingbeat sending a slight ripple through his muscle structure, keeping Siofra close with him through every second of it. Her words though he frowned at a bit. She was right, that dragon was humongous. It rivaled must he had ever seen ,except a few of coruse on Kevvs' planet.

Xavien smirked a bit though. Unlike her, he didn't have ill feeling about it. e had dealt with quite a few dark ones in his time.... Waivelength and Venam and Armageddin some good examples on that one, they had been beastly and horrid ni one way or another at least. Though he sighed too. "Yeah, he seems overliy big, and cranky." He said. "That thing with Zartear at his side would be fairly devastating too. "Well hopefully the other side will be intelligent and leave, but we'll see. But now, I gotta land." He said softly. Beginning down pretty quickly. "Hold onto me." He told ehr gently, plummeting down pretty quickly. Though at the alst second, his flight seemed to slow greatly, him clutching her so as to not let ehr drop.... Then his feet touched the ground quite gently. He growled and shifted, taking the humanoid body once again as well. His sword appearing on his back. He set Siofra down too, nice and gently. "Here we go." He said simply. Knowing this meeting would be highly fun...

Kayoss snorted merely, having figured ehr flames would take out his blades. Planning, testing, poking... Shi knew shi had to dothis for a few minutes at least. to figure a strategy out again who shi faced. A basic but effective tactic in any battle. Not even Kayoss was rush rush rush about this kind of thing. Especially against something so massive. Although this only excited hir more, to fight something so formidable. Not the worst perhaps, but it was definently up there in the ranks. IT only was going to get worse too as he ticked her off. Shi had to plan this quick though, and effectively...

Shi knew all dragons of a feral nature had certain weak points. That was no trouble. IT was just getting to them without getting completely maulled. For this one seemed very hot in nature, able to melt most weaponry. Well hir main swords would be fine and shi knew that, them made to take well, heat about as hot as a planets' sun or stars. But the replicas shi had thrown werent amde for that. But tese weak points would not be so easily gotten to. How to get to the underarms of a dragon? Or the underlegs? Rght between the body and limb... the armpit, if you will. No dragon was not somewhat soft there. Shi checked for runes while dodging flames and such as well, but none of those existed. Thus there were limited options on where and how to strike. But shi knew her foe would slip up at some point. Flames were the least of KAyoss' worries, shi could shield ehrself even when focusing on her muscles at their most. Which shi in truth, was about to do. Feeling Kumiko again though Kayoss seethed. This fox-demon was pissing hir off royally, it needed to go away! Shi was like a fly which refused to be swatted... Well Kayoss had a plan. Especially once seeing they were definently communicating, their eyes giving them away. Kayoss wouldn't use the mind to fight, lest encessary, thus shi didn't know what they might have in mind but... shi knew how to go against Kumiko already.

"Ive had about enough of you." Shi growled, turning to face Kumiko rather. Shi had hir minds' eye on Arasolra, knowing better then to blind hirself to any opponent. But to percieve blindness to hir opponent was a key move right then. The odd crystal-eye at Kayoss' head glowed a different, blacker hue suddenly. Then hir limbs seemed to expand in muscle. Keeping to the skies, knowing Arasolra would follow. Hir exact intentions in all honesty. This would be an easier and more interesting battle without the ground impeding. Hir directing most of ehr magical flow to hir muscles now. Shi was allowing enough to hold the blades in hir fingers of course, plus enough to replicate blades some, and make certain barriers to protect from some things. Especially fire. Shi knew shi was liekly gonna get some kind of nasty wound through all this, but well, shi knew equally that Gorz would help in that one. "You shall trouble me no longer. Die!" Kayoss flew right for Kumiko this time, hir speed having increased yet again even more, hir physical strength the same by quite an amount. No longer going to cast at either of them, no... shi would win with brute force mostly, and some trickery too. Slashing hir set of very strange claws at Kumiko very fast ocne near too, giving no space, giving no magic for her to feed from, nothing. Swingign again an again, almost recklessly, almost, yet ready to parry anything that might come at hir. Watching Arasolra mentally, ready for any lunge of breath of flame or well, anything that might come of it. Wantign to exhaust Kumiko, wanting to stress her and injure, tired of this annoyance... shi wanted tofight a real beast, not a little demon... but the demon had to be moved out of the way first it seemed, for this nuisance could be a danger against hir if shi was focusing on Arasolra...

Gorz tilted his head a bit, giving a nod at this. He definently hadn't wanted to offend in any way. Though his mention of the sky let Gorz give a nod. "I see...well scoutin is just as important mon. But dat is just as helpful to me, and actually, safer." He said. "If you like, we can fly togetha, and find my friend and whoever you might be lookin for too. four eyes are betta den two." He said simply. Knowing he ahd to find KAyoss, who knows what trouble his reckless and strong friend ahd brewed up already? Pretty sure it was something huge, masculine, and angry, knowing him...

Lena watched as the dragon made its rounds to heal the rest of the group and her eyes fell over Talos. He looked tired, but to see the tip of his wings no longer burnt eased some of her anxiety over him. She wasn’t going to tell him that for the simple reason as they didn’t have time to fuss over wounds so long as they were not life threatening. She was a little more than relieved to hear Talos finally making the decision to get the heck out of there though. She had been under the impression that when she was taking the first group of civilians out that the rest of the DDC wouldn’t be too far behind, and obviously she was sadly mistaken. Lena sighed then to herself, what was Atleon thinking? She would hope he was still alive and if he was that he did not make the order to stay. He was a friend after all but she could not agree to continue to stay and risk their lives further. With her thoughts in mind, Lena kept to Talos’ side and waited while he spoke to the dragon.

Lotharia pondered Talos’ question for a moment before answering. She had been wondering herself if she were to stay with the small band but she knew she could be useful elsewhere. I will stay for a while yet to see where I can be of help. Lotharia leaned down her head to be level with Talos’. I wish you luck, little one, perhaps we will soon meet again. Lotharia lifted her head once more to look at the group. May good fortune smile upon you all. With that, the dragon took off into the depths of the city, looking to see if there was someone else she may be able to help.

The pink and white dragon, as well as the other healers, loomed into sight moments later. Measle walked strongly, trying to looks intimidating before the much larger dragon, but the angle of his wing showed how badly broken it was. Jackdaww was going to no such efforts to hide his injuries. Blood was still pouring down his face, and his eye was crusted shut with dried blood and gore again. His hand was on Measle’s broad shoulder, and the blood from the cuts on his hand was streaming down his wrist to pool at his inner elbow. When they arrived before the healers, they waited amongst the others who were injured to be healed. Jackdaww was just expecting a stitch in his face, and some sort of dressings for the other cuts, and Measle hoped for his wing to be set, but neither could imagine any sort of speedy recovery. They were sure they would be put out of the fighting for a long while, and it made both their blood boil. They were so frustrated about being injured seemingly so soon that it was surely radiating from the pair of them as a torrent of ill-mannered thoughts and unruly emotions.

Gorz smiled warmly, giving a nod too. "I can fly alongide ya, mon. Thus no str-" He frowned deeply. Something felt...wrong. Utterly wrong. So dark and wrong! He turned, sweating a bit. This was bad, what was going on? He had to know. But he heard Kayoss' voice in his mind quick too. ~We hafta go! Eye is in Peril! Someone is obstructing the Core!~ Shi growled.

Kayoss spat in fury, hating this. Damnit, shi was just getting into things here! But no, thigns hafta go downhill! Shi leapt away from the pair trying at her. "Catch you all fools later." Shi said simply. Opening hir wings, taking flight. Shi flew for only a bit, but soon scooped up Gorz in hir hand, who held on easily. Kayoss passed him the wooden box in fact. "When you see Atleon, toss it to him." Shi told Gorz, who nodded. Shi touched Atleons' mind too while at it. ~You need to watch for me and Gorz, and Catch whats tossed to you. Im afraid we need to leave, something perilous is going down on our planet. But mark my words, I WILL return and help see you to victory.~ Shi told him simply. Flying steadily, seeing Atleon too...

Soon enough Gorz tossed the box, for they werent far from him. "Be strong mon." He said simply to the Prince. Kayoss snorted. But hir hand reached ahead. Rather the sky distorted... at once aportal distoring the air, displacing space in that area. "Lets go!" Shi exclaimed, pissed, but shi knew this had to be stopped. But shi threw Gorz forcibly, who flew right into the Portal with that throw. Kayoss followed.... Then the strange thing shut behind hir, so no one else could follow. For they didnt need anyone vile getting to their planet, it would spell devastation with the events already going on.... But theyd return. They would make sure of it...

Xavien sighed a bit, turning slightly to her. "Eh... Well, at least we will know what to expect. We have to just keep stable, for now. Later things can be disrupted. This early in the game though... its best to let the flow of things just roll on, untarnished." He said simply. But he frowned, his normal confident and cool look taking its place on his face. He wore such so much, he just typically stayed such a way. Though Siofra seemed able to break such a face from him, able to get to the raw Xavien within of course.

He stood back just a bit, watching the big Dragon, and the idiotic human who Siofra was talkign to of course. His eyes roving between the two evenly, with nothing to say. For well, most of the time, silence was the ebst way to handle things for him. He just wanted this crap done. He wanted to take ehr somewhere nice and comfy, and relax. Or at least relax some of the time. No telling what the other time would be spent doing. Thinking of ways to chop off the dragons' head should it get pissed... itd be a tough feat for sure but he was pretty certain he could pull it off. But this creature likely wouldnt go ballistic at him.... Xavien knew alot about Dragonics... he kenw how to keep himself, knew to just stay relaxed simply, and well theyd do little typically, lest they had a damn good reason of course. Or unless they were Paradox...
