People??? [OPEN TO ALL]

As a small dragon the one major problem that Hydra had was these two legged creatures calling her 'cute'! "Of all the impertinent nonsensical beings!" she grumbled to herself. She happened to wander into a small town and passed a dreary old house pausing only to sniff the air. "An elf...How fortunate for this hap-hazardous place." She glanced around warily having to dart away from horses and large humans in order to avoid being stepped on. "A curse on the creator of humanoids!" she growled. She decided that rooftops were less dangerous until she nearly fell down a lit chimney and decided against that as well. "I hate human dwellings with a passion! Why can't they live in caves like sensible creatures?!" She wandered down the street and decisively ambled into a drafty cold butcher shop. "Ah. . .Much better." she said settling down near the meat locker.

She quickly moved aside and snorted as she curled up contentedly enjoying the cold. "The heat is so unbearable." She looked at the thing that had run into her and she sniffed. "Weird humanoid. . .But not one I need to bother I guess. She looks just as wary of this place as me." She decided to play 'friendly' for once and nudged her leg trying not to give her frostbite in the process. She looked up curiously and sat like a dog almost with her tail swishing. "I guess not all humanoids are bad if some of them hide from the rest of the world like me." The hustle and bustle continued and out of random someone walking a domestic animal would glance over a bit warily and Hydra'd make like she was going to attack then sit back when they quickly scurried away. "I guess she'll be my little humanoid from now on, creatures like her are a rarity." It was the biggest decision she'd made since the last time she wanted to eat a horse; she was going to keep a pet.

As the butcher ran into her new pet she growled loudly and snarled much like a dog would if they felt threatened. "You stupid human! You could've done some serious damage!" She sank her teeth into the seat of his pants, just his pants she wasn't in the mood for a snack, and yanked back holding a mouthful of fabric. She promptly spat it out and nearly wretched. "Ewww! It tastes like a burlap sack!" She growled at the butcher again and snapped her teeth. "Touch my pet again I dare you!" She looked around and noticed a few people sort of staring at the scene. "Oh dear. . .This probably won't go over very well. . .Ah well at least now everyone knows I'm not some cute little fuzzy domestic animal companion!" She walked back over and nudged her pet's leg again in reassurance. "I shall protect you don't worry!"

Hydra nudged her hand showing she understood and turned her attention to the rather rude things this ugly humanoid was saying to her and her new companion. She for once wished she hadn't already eaten or she'd take a large chunk out of this annoying thing. "Now I regret eating that domestic fowl earlier today! Curses." She fanned out her wings like a cobra would its hood and growled and hissed at the butcher. "Say one more word and I'll make you into a pillar of ice!" She bared her fangs at him and gave a roar as best she could. "While I'm at it I may just break open that thing that holds meat and swipe some of it!" She stood defensively in front of Ari thinking that, despite her tiny size, she could still be of help.

She hissed at the angry butcher one last time and snapped her jaws before proudly walking over to her lovely silent pet, looking up at her. "Well let's get going then shall we?" She folded back her wings and started off at a slow trot almost like a dog but with no leash and no chance of getting distracted by something as trivial as the scent of garbage. "You coming or not? It's too hot here!" She flapped her wings a little to cool off and looked back at Ari. She wandered around her in a circle trying to get her to move a little faster but not seeming to have much luck. More or less she looked like she was chasing her own tail and that was an embarrassment when she figured it out. "Oh I guess I'll just suffer in the heat." she grumbled as she patiently, though not very happily, waited for her pet.

She followed Ari closely and occasionally bumped into her leg still shocked by how warm she was. She looked around a bit more curious than she had been before due to an excess of humanoids. She fluttered her wings again to cool off and scampered ahead of her companion a bit to sit in the shade. "I miss the ice plains it's too hot down here. How do you humanoids stand it?" She remembered hopping through mounds of snow as a fledgling and her demeanor went from proud to somewhat sad. "It's a pity I can't take you to my home. It's positively glorious! There's snow and ice for miles upon miles around and very few neighbors to worry about. Ah but that's not exactly the life you'd like I don't think. You need interaction with others of your own kind much like I need to interact with my kind." She still had no idea that her companion couldn't understand a thing she was saying, or at least most of it. There was always an inkling of hope though when her companion brought out that stick and flimsy book-looking thing that she used to communicate. It at least gave her something to go by in terms of what her silent pet wanted to say. English wasn't so easy for her to understand when it was spoken, but if it was neatly written she could somewhat understand it.

She nodded and whined a little missing the ice and the ever present snow. She growled a bit hearing the shouting and the screaming and the general busyness of life around her. "Life at home was hardly this chaotic. I never worried about scrawny little humans encroaching on my territory." She remembered how few creatures in general she saw for the first few years of her life and a tear fell from her eye. "It isn't fair at all...One day all I knew was I was alone and I found human footprints tracking through my territory! Humans killed my family and I will now force them to suffer as they have done to me! I will cause them trouble of all kinds and make them realize what kind of horrors they've committed."

She looked at Ari a bit hopefully and followed her into the shadier forest a bit happier than she had just been. She yawned and nuzzled up to Ari. "Thank you for your comfort." She settled down by a tree and yawned in a very cat-like manner. "I guess the warmth isn't so bad as long as it stays like this all year. She looked around and sniffed some of the plants having never seen anything like them, occasionally trying to eat one and spitting it out. "Eww these are horrible! I guess they're just something to look at, how useless!" She didn't understand why humanoids liked things just to look at them and they served no other purpose. "You two legged creatures are so confusing and destructive."

She sniffed the berries and ate the handful that was held out to her. "Mmm! These are good!" Little did she know that she now had purple teeth and it was a funny sight to see. She sniffed around for more of the sweet little fruits that her companion had fed her, soon finding the bush and eating them right off the twigs. She stopped after a minute or two and curled up again content. "Too bad you wouldn't survive long in my home. You might like it if you could stay warm long enough to see it." She rested at Ari's feet and yawned, boredom quickly setting in.

She shook her head. "You're too fragile for life up there. I mean yes we could go north, but not too far since you need to stay warm to survive." She drew an arrow going a little further south so the climate would be a bit warmer for Ari. "That's better for you and I have wings so I can fly further north every now and then. And of course I'll come back when I'm done exploring." She munched on a few more berries and sniffed around before contentedly stretching out in the shade thinking of the house her companion had drawn out. "Maybe I'll get to visit home after all..."

Hydra sort of nodded a bit confused but sighed. "I guess we go north in the morning." She sniffed around and ate a few more berries before contenting herself with lying in the shade. She sat and thought of what awaited her when she'd get to finally see ice again. "Can't wait to see home again." Her wings fluttered and her tail twitched back and forth in anticipation. She decided to dig herself a little hole in the ground and curl up for an afternoon nap. She had a lovely vision swirling around in her head of a five foot deep snow drift that she could just sleep in for days. She came as close to a smile as a dragon could get and sighed a puff of cold fog.
