PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeWed Feb 22, 2012 11:11 pm

"I know a herding technique I used on cattle a few years back. Think it'll work on humans since they're not exactly all that bright?" She didn't wait long for and answer and sneaked around the back of the small camp. "Heeeere's trouble. . ." she muttered before exhaling a loud roar. Two or three humans looked startled and ran off in Syn's direction. "Two humans coming at you Syn!" She casually walked through the handful of cloth tents. Her job was done, now the only task was to catch the silly things. Humans weren't the smartest of creatures to start with and she half expected her companion to have already eaten at least one human and seriously maimed the other by the time she got back to her starting point.

Unfortunately, Syn knew that Mirage’s words weren’t exactly true; indeed, humans weren’t as smart as dragons, but some of them certainly did have wits about them, and they weren’t to be underestimated. Humans in the desert especially; most of the time they were harmless travellers, just trying to get through the great sandy waste from one side to the other, but other times, they could be bandits, and a helluva lot harder to cope with than regular humans. However, he wasn’t going to tell Mirage that; she would have to work it out by herself, if she was smart enough. If not… well, she was going to get burnt, and learn the hard way. That, and they had already split directions.

He took the stealthy route as he headed through the camp, sticking to the sides of the tents on their shady sides, so he didn’t cast a shadow on those who might be inside. It was good to be vigilant; it made him feel more alive too. There was nothing like a proper hunt to get the blood pumping, rather than just a namby-pamby kill who laid down and died at the first sight of your jaws.

At Mirage’s roar, he leapt out of the hiding place he had picked, tackling the first human that ran past to the ground. They struggled under his claws, shouting and making a fuss until his jaws clamped around it’s throat, silencing both it’s protestations and it’s life in one go. Although that didn’t seem to be the end of it. The other human suddenly roared like a beast and (oh strangeness indeed!) rammed him in the side, making him stagger aside and recoil, taking an extra-large breath to compensate for the air he had just lost. A growl erupted from his lips, angry that the man had been so presumptuous.

By now the rest of the camp was alerted, humans streaming from their tents in groups, and armed. Armed well.
This was not going to plan…

PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeTue Feb 28, 2012 5:04 pm

It seemed like this was a bit of a bad idea after all. When all the humans came out armed her tail lashed back and forth. "Do we make a break for it or risk injury?" she asked looking to Syn. There was a dead human between them and it seemed these humans had pegged them as the killers. Completely true but it contrasted Mirage's overly-simplistic view of the human species. Trying to avoid getting injured by the humans she moved back closer to her traveling companion.

She still wasn't quite sure what was going on or what was going to happen next. Syn was going to be mad one way or another, she just hoped he'd be mad about losing his lunch and not about her trying to help. She was bordering on just bolting off, but this was as much her fault as it was his from her point of view. Nonetheless she nudged Syn. "Fight or flight, Syn?"

PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeSat Mar 03, 2012 1:56 am

As the second human too recovered from his leap at Syn, the desert chaser backed away, ears flicking backwards and lips curling in a snarl. This one was too bold… but he had managed to take Syn to the ground for a couple of moments, and that unnerved him. He was making the moves here, not some upstart two-leg!

Mirage was a little distracting as the two squared off, Syn keeping his eyes firmly on the man in front of him. He didn’t want to lose his edge by dividing his attention, but it happened anyway as the mist hound nudged him in the side.
He leapt away, fur on his back standing up in hostility. “What do you—“ he started, meaning to ask her what she meant of such an action. They needed to concentrate on the humans now starting to look more and more threatening, rather than discuss what they would eventually do. Those outcomes depended solely on how the humans reacted.

Unfortunately, the closest human decided then to get cocky and try and attack the two of them, scooping a nearby pole into his hands and leaping over his fallen comrade with a shout. Syn dodged sideways, leaping out of the way over a set of tent wires that were stuck out in front of him, tail starting to swish angrily from side to side as soon as he had landed. The man turned after Mirage instead, the mist hound being closer, but there were plenty of other people to come after Syn.

PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeSat Mar 03, 2012 2:37 am

'Oh Hades no, you picked the wrong dragon to threaten now!' she thought. Why didn't Syn just run dang it?! It seemed like the best option! She had a difficult time focusing on the human in front of her when the rest of them were right behind it and either one or all of them would take its place if she took down the one causing the trouble. She turned to the side and barely missed getting hit with "something" but she hadn't any idea what.

Upon moving away from the immediate threat she surveyed the rest of the humans, looking for the smallest and the weakest among them. Tough looking handful of humans in her opinion, but not tough enough to beat two dragons of their size. "I mean do you want to risk injury here over a dead human or leave now and simply find something else to eat later?" Dragons made for speed couldn't take much of a beating in the physical sense. Thus the first option for when your meal fights back a bit too much is to just get away from it, which she was very tempted to do.

PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeThu Mar 22, 2012 4:34 pm

Syn backed away from the humans still intent on trying to attack them (how foolish they were, but he wasn’t going to initiate an attack, if that’s what they wanted). He wasn’t a bad fighter, quite the opposite, with all his practise at taking down humans, but that didn’t mean he was one to start a fight, or even continue one once he didn’t feel like it. Which was most of the time. Mirage didn’t seem to be having much trouble avoiding the blows coming her way, dodging this way and that with the litheness of a cat, but they weren’t yet up against many opponents.

It was at this point Syn decided this wasn’t quite worth the effort, or the risk of getting injured. If there was anything he hated almost to the level of mud and grime, it was being hurt, least of all being hurt by humans. He backed off up the slope behind him, head turning this way and that to keep all the humans properly in sight and growling under his breath, which probably made him seem more like a wild beast than a sentient dragon. No meal was worth getting beaten up over. Whether Mirage made that decision too was up to her, but if she didn’t back off too now, then she was a fool.

PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeThu Mar 22, 2012 4:51 pm

She waited another moment or two to follow Syn, but then high-tailed it up the slope. "Guess that means flight!" It didn't matter much to her to leave, meant nobody was going to be skinning her anytime soon. Most non-dragon creatures knew better than to race a Mist Hound, and even then Mist Hounds knew better than to race Desert Chasers. "Last one to get a mile away from the humans is a useless hairball!"

Yet, she was going to race one anyway. It wasn't a race for fun, it was just a way of getting them further from the humans and giving Syn incentive to do so. Not like either of them needed it but that wasn't the point! "Unless you'd rather turn into a Desert Chaser rug and have your lovely tail used for a feather duster!" Now that statement would more than likely have him take off at top speed. The faster the better.

PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeSat Mar 24, 2012 10:55 am

Syn paused once he got to the top of the dune that he had been backing up, still intently watching the humans who still moved forwards. Foolish creatures, but he wasn't going to fight them, even with such a view. Mirage's chipper responses annoyed him, but he didn't have the patience to explain to her why, in the case that she questioned him. He was naturally a judgemental person, and would have found something else that annoyed him in her if it hadn't been that. Although this... well, it was trying. It was very Azenth-y. The lash dragon wouldn't have been so bold as to try racing with him, however. Everything still had to be a game though; with Azenth, it came off as annoying, here, Syn took it the other way and saw it as patronizing. He wasn't really one for indulging other people either, and his mind immediately clicked into the mindset of trying to undermine Mirage.

So, despite knowing at heart he was probably a fool for doing it (but not admitting it, his ego was too huge for that), he growled and started to pad along the ridge of sand, tail swishing back and forth dangerously.
"I rather do feel like human for lunch today," he commented, stretching his claws as he walked. Picking off a human from the edge might not be too bad, it would just be avoiding the inevitable attacks that came his way afterwards...

Oh that was just peachy, now he wanted to go back. Ah well, that was probably his way, better to just go along with it and hope for the best. "Alright then." she replied a bit less panicked and a bit more methodical. If hunting was going to be their entertainment for the hour then the least she could do was help. "Tell me where to go and what to do. And you've already taken one down, why not devise a distraction and then steal the corpse?"

It sounded like a good plan, but it wasn't her choice to make. Syn was a stubborn, vain dragon, but by no means was he stupid. A bit rash at times, but never stupid. At the same time she knew if she wanted food she'd have to get a hold of it herself, and she could ask help from Syn but it was doubtful he'd oblige. She wasn't about to risk her own vanity in asking anyway, so she'd just have to make a quick kill and get out of there once her companion got his meal. Most definitely easier said than done.

PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeMon Apr 09, 2012 9:26 pm

Syn was feeling more and more disagreeable by the minute, and really wasn’t in the mood for giving out detailed instructions to Mirage. He let out a small sigh, more ironic frustration rather than anything else.
“No, do what you think you should do,” he said. In a way, it was an instruction, although obviously an unhelpful one; when the mist hound had wanted something palpable, not something vague, and Syn had been just about as vague as he could have been. He paused, lingering over nothing, then resumed his slow pace along the ridgetop, feeling the eyes of humans on him. Mm, he had complete control of this… what did he feel like doing? In a way, he just wanted to cause a bit of havoc, but on exactly the other hand, he wanted to flump down into the sand and melodramatically moan about how dreadful the day was turning out to be. But, even a fool could see that that was a poor idea with such animosity reigning.

Still, he was in the mood for doing something “foolish”. Even if that came down to just a bit of old fashioned arson. A rock, uncovered over a few days from the shifting sands, stuck out of the dune halfway along and he decided to shove against it, pushing with one shoulder until it moved with a satisfying inching movement, slow at first before tumbling head-over-foot down the slope and through a couple of tents that had been pitched. Shouts of dismay immediately came from the humans, and a few ran over to the tents he had managed to crush, another pulling out a crossbow from somewhere and firing off an arrow before hastily reloading.

Now Syn decided he had had enough of baiting humans. It was time to beat a retreat, and he pretty much flew up the side of the sand dune, tail waving victoriously in the air.
“Humans are so much like ants. You prod the nest and they all just start behaving very angrily. I’m outta here.”

Mirage was not impressed by any stretch. "Let's go you vindictive kit."
[Cue One Week Fast Forward]
Now Mirage was the one doing weird and childish things to keep from being bored. How hypocritical, but she didn't care. She was having such a tough time concentrating on any one thing that even hunting became boring for a time. And in true Syn-like fashion she rolled in the dusty sand at the beginning of a rocky canyon and grumbled about how horrid the day was turning out to be. His personality had begun to rub off on her, but that wasn't a bad thing, was it? She didn't care if it was or not, because she decided to go climbing after something she spotted on an outcrop.

"Syn, come check this out the view is amazing up here!" she shouted from a ledge. Her tail swished excitedly as she looked down toward the ground. "Don't be a stick in the mud Syn, come on!" Truly she'd gone up to raid a vulture's nest, and raid she did, but after that she decided to enjoy the view, and Syn was going to join her whether he liked it or not.

PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeFri Apr 20, 2012 5:03 pm

Canyon landscapes were quite interesting, and a nice change for Syntribos from just open sand dunes. He loved the dunes best still though, with their restless energy and unending length. The desert certainly could be an interesting place, when it came to it. He hung back as Mirage rolled in the sand in front of him, rolling his eyes at the sky and padding forwards when she was quite done, sticking to the bright sunny bits of the canyon, rather than straying into the shadowy side. The canyon might warrant some interesting prey if they walked along it, and possibly water too; for living in the desert and generally hating any liquids, that didn’t mean desert chasers didn’t have to drink.

He slumped down in the dust as Mirage started to clamber up one rocky side, running his tongue along the length of one paw and rubbing it over his ear like a cat. Was he frustrated by her company? A little, but not so much to try and make a run for it; being with someone else was actually rather pleasant, even if she was persistent. Nicely demonstrating the point too, she immediately started to shout from the top, insulting him until he rolled to his feet and padded over to the edge of the canyon, leaping up the side with graceful jumps. He made it up to her in record time, huffing out a breath.
“What? The view? Oh, yeah… great.” Typically uninterested, he took half a glance at the landscape in front of them then went back to cleaning his paw, running his tongue in-between his claws. Then he paused, and looked out at the view again.
“What’s that?” he asked, flicking his tail in the direction of a blob in the sky, not really recognisable as anything yet.

She was surprised he'd joined her on the ledge, but then looked where he pointed and twitched her ears. "I've no clue." Her attention was then turned to a nest of vulture eggs in the shade of an overhanging bit of rock. Using great caution she picked up the whole next in her mouth and carried it over to where Syn was sitting. Without a word she nudged his shoulder and sat down next to him.

After waiting a minute or so she leaned down and made short work of one of the eggs. "Care for an egg or two?" she asked quietly. Clearly he wasn't interested in the lovely view, and her antics had him rather annoyed, but maybe he'd be less cranky after eating? She hoped that was the case. "You know anything about Maledictus Eice?" Humans had far exceeded any usefulness they possessed, and she could now see why some dragons wanted them gone.

PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeMon Apr 23, 2012 12:53 pm

Syn was vaguely pleased by Mirage’s offer of vulture eggs when she brashly stole the whole nest, which was going to make a bird very angry in a short while, when it returned. The desert chaser hoped it wouldn’t be back too soon though; although not afraid of taking down one of the ugly birds, he wouldn’t want to feel its claws, and definitely not on such a precipice. He did reap the rewards though, gingerly taking one of the eggs in his mouth and crunching the shell between his teeth, rolling it around to break down the sharp edges. A different taste to normal, rather pleasant actually.

“Maledictus Eice? A bunch of fool dragons, I’ve heard, wanting to destroy all the humans on the land. Their cause is agreeable enough that it’d reward enough human meat to stick with them, but their leaders are stupid to think they’d wipe out every two-leg around. Brutish really.” He sniffed. “But… I have thought of joining them, if only for the meat. It’d make things rather easier.” Not to say the crazy dragons would probably be the only one to take him on eagerly, what with his background of eating people. Contrary to expectations of some, he did actually like company, however rude he was about it.

The dragon in front steadily grew larger as it flew towards them, possibly heading for them, but probably not. Either way, it was starting to become a little more than just a featureless blob.

"Wiping them all out at once is a rather rash decision. I mean no I don't like them, but they're a constant food source if all else fails. Why eradicate them when you can just hunt them down for sport? It's not like they're inedible or anything they just don't like dying quietly." With a glance up at the quickly approaching blur her ears pinned themselves back. "Why don't we finish these eggs and head back down to the ground? Doesn't feel right with it getting closer and closer." Perhaps it was the mother whose nest of eggs she'd just stolen, or perhaps it was a larger dragon.

It didn't make any difference, it was starting to feel like a threat and being high up with something bigger flying overhead did not sound like a good idea. Slowly she inched away from the edge to make her way back down. Nobody could say Mirage was a coward, she was simply cautious and calculating.

PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeWed May 02, 2012 8:55 pm

Mirage had the right ideas when she spoke of ME, something that Syn was glad about. He had no qualms about arguing with her, but he couldn’t be bothered with it right now, and once they had started arguing, there would probably have been no end to it. All was well however. Apart from the large dragon heading towards them.

“Hmm… yes. These canyons have little in them, there’s not much to do.” He stretched, bending his back and flexing his claws, then followed Mirage back down the cliff face, leaping from rock to rock with casual ease until they reached the bottom. He kept moving once they got there, calling for Mirage to follow. He didn’t like the idea of someone getting on their tail and coming after them very much, not when they were so big. Anything might happen, and he wouldn’t have much sway over someone twice his size, not unless they were a royal idiot. It was still following them though, fast, and there was a flash of shadow as it passed low overhead then landed around the corner of the canyon they were in, settling down out of sight.
Syn drew to a halt, then looked to Mirage, to see what her opinion was on the subject. He thought it was a stupid idea to go round and see what the other dragon wanted, but who knew? Mirage might think different.

With a low hiss she looked to where the dragon had landed and then at Syn. "Chances of it being a lumbering, cumbersome, hulk while on the ground? Let's just move past it and not cause trouble." She knew she was in Syn's personal space, but she liked him well enough to risk him getting mad. "Perhaps we'll get lucky and they'll be someone worth talking to, eh?" At least it was a dragon and not something worse.

Her nose twitched curiously and she began to walk calmly past where she saw the dragon land. No sense attracting any attention from it. At least now the day wasn't boring and mundane like it had been all the rest of the week. Her thoughts began to wander and suddenly she just stopped walking she was so lost in her thoughts. Why was Syn so uptight all the time? Why was she tolerating such behavior in her contemporary? She couldn't think of any answer for any of the questions.

“One can only hope,” said Syn dryly, his ears twitching back and forth. If this big dragon was about to become the number three of their pack, then it was turning into quite the odd set of company. But there was no way of avoiding the dragon, so they just continued forwards, until she came into view. If she was annoying, then hopefully he and Mirage could sneak away without much of a fuss. Or… just him. Depended on their situation.

As the two smaller dragons that Suraya had spotted rounded the corner to the canyon she was in, she ran a glance over her side, checking to make sure the painted words on her scales hadn’t come off. It was mostly in one piece, so she nodded, satisfied, and pulled a couple of sheets of paper out of one of the bags slung over her neck, pinning them under one enormous claw. She plastered a smile on her face, then addressed the others.
“Hello there! How ya doin’? Got a proposition for ya both, might be interested?” She shoved the leaflets in their direction, her eyes flicking from the mist hound to the desert chaser and back. “It’s a big shindig over near Shayenne, gonna be massive. You should both definitely come.”

PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeSun May 20, 2012 8:58 pm

Well now, that sounded fun. "Dragons only or will humans be allowed to attend?" she asked. The answer to her question would determine whether or not it was worth it to go. Subsequently that would mean either challenging Syn to another race, or begging and pleading with him to accompany her. This new dragon was a very interesting breed indeed. "Shayenne. . .The city famous for those really tall cliffs?" she queried.

A screech overhead signaled the return of the vulture whose nest she'd stolen and her tail flicked back and forth. 'Blasted birds.' she thought irritably. However she moved back beside Syn and sat down waiting to see his reaction to the whole idea. It was never easy to tell what he was thinking either. The most annoying thing to come to mind was how difficult it was to read her traveling companion. Ah well, she'd get answers soon hopefully. More importantly she hoped there wouldn't be a fight.

[Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeThu May 24, 2012 8:15 pm

Suraya’s eyes lit up as Mirage spoke, and she turned to look at the mist hound almost fiercely. She ran her tongue over her lips a little as the dragon spoke again, like she was tasting the air. “Ya sound like the taste of… blueberry muffins,” she said, which probably sounded bizarre, but made sense to the sunblaze. Because Mirage did, the sound of her voice was exactly the same as the taste of blueberry muffins. She could almost taste them! Savouring the sensation for a moment, she finally answered the dragon’s question. “Yeah, anybody and everybody’ll be attendin’! Includin’ yaself, missy?” She phrased it a little like a question, but there was a definite push towards the other dragon saying yes. “The cliffs’re a backdrop to wha’s gonna be the best proper party.”

This new dragon suddenly intent on accosting them seemed like a strange sort, from both the way she talked, and what she said when she did. His ears flicked back slightly at her assessment of Mirage- blueberry muffins?- but he stuck his claws through one of the leaflets she passed over to look at it anyway, eyes skimming across the page.
“Half of this is in human glyphs,” he grunted, slamming his paw down to the ground and retracting his claws. The pictures he could understand, of the Shayenne cliffs, and party food… but not the small scrawled letters all around. “I do hope humans are part of the dining.”

“Evergreen oak bark… and a sorta bronze colour…” mused Suraya, more strangeness from the large dragon. “’Fraid not, ya can’t eat the humans, mate! They’re part of the festivities too, ain’t they? Ya not used to bein’ round two-legs? They’s pretty good company, when ya get used to ‘em.”

Mirage was taken aback by being told she was akin to a blueberry muffin. Syn not being about to read human didn't shock her in the least. "It's some huge gathering at the Shayenne Cliffs. I know you don't like humans, but couldn't we go anyway just to see what all the fuss is about? Pleeease?" she begged. After a pause she looked at the larger dragon. "Neither of us really like humans very much. I've never met a human that wasn't destructive and violent."

After a few minutes she cuddled up to Syn again, hoping he'd give in and go, if only to see the Shayenne Cliffs. "If the party turns out to be a bust we could at least go see the mountains, right? Please can we go?" She looked at him with wide eyes as her tail swished back and forth. Maybe he'd cave in and agree to go? She could only hope that was the outcome. If he said no there was no way she'd ever get him to change his mind.

[Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeTue Jul 03, 2012 12:09 pm

This big sunblaze had to be on something, because Syn could have sworn that whatever she was saying was just twaddlespeak. Her random colour picking, and blueberry muffins, and overfriendly nature irritated him, and he found himself wishing that it was back to just being him and Mirage.
“There’s a reason ‘fuss’ is called fuss,” said Syn sarcastically to the mist hound’s wheedling, his ears flicking backwards a little. The desert chaser didn’t much like crowd dynamics, as things could change in an instant- and that, he couldn’t predict. “Humans are only good for one thing, and that’s a meal.” He lowered his voice to a low grumble, “And even then they cause too much fuss…”

He looked away as Mirage butted against his side, rubbing his fur up the wrong way (literally, this time). Awhoh, to go, to not go… unfortunately, the decision was swiftly taken out of his paws.

“Well y’all seem to need a bit of a perspective change on ol’ humans, and if Blueberry miss here wants ta go, then you shouldn’t be a’stoppin’ her!” said Suraya, her eyes glowing with mischief. “Now, don’t ya go changin’ your mind, ‘cos it’s not yours to change anymore!” She reared up onto her back legs, flaring her wings wide and laboriously taking off, hovering only a few metres up in the air. It was a dodgy manoeuvre, and any other dragon would have landed at such a small height, for fear of ripping their wings open- but Suraya didn’t stay for long there, scooping Syn up in her front claws and holding him tightly underneath her. He screeched, fur puffing out in every direction like an angry, frightened cat.

“Do ya wanna be carried too, Missy, or are ya coming aboard?” asked Suraya, grinning as Syn squealed and tried to wriggle free, gripping with his claws so the sunblaze didn’t drop him at the same time.

PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeTue Jul 03, 2012 2:46 pm

Her mind went into panic mode and her legs shook weakly. "I-I-I'm not one for flying. If Mist Hounds were meant to fly they'd have been born with wings. I can follow on foot I don't think I'll have a problem keeping pace." She was practically begging this Sunblaze not to make her go flying, seeing as she knew she'd be frantically squirming like Syn the whole way. That wasn't an option: she was going to show up to this thing with dignity by thunder! "I know I can keep pace with just about anything else that runs or flies on this island. Just for the love of all that's decent don't make me fly."

Even on shaky legs her impulse to try and make things better didn't go away. She moved over closer to Syn and made a sort of purring sound. "Take it easy, I doubt she'll drop you for no reason." She reared up on her back legs as far as she dared and tried to calm him down, though she figured it would be a waste of time from the start. "Please just. . .Just stop squirming the ride will be smoother okay?"

PostSubject: Re: [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child   [Syn & Hydra] Little Wandering Child - Page 3 Icon_minitimeThu Jul 12, 2012 8:22 pm

Syn continued to squeal in a very un-Syn-like way as Suraya hovered, seemingly nonplussed at the way he was squirming in her claws. It didn’t really bother Suraya though. She fixed Mirage with a slightly sceptical stare at her assertion that she would be fine to run below.
“Ya, you think ya can keep up, I won’t carry ya then. But we gotta hurry hurry hurry, there’s strawberries so fresh they’ve gone magenta coloured.” Man, and they were going to taste so good!

Once Suraya had settled the desert chaser down in her claws again, she battled up a bit higher into the sky, playfully swiping at Mirage with her back legs as she passed overhead, pulling at her tail and laughing.

Syn didn’t like her antics one bit- let alone what Mirage was going to make of them- squealing like an animal again. Ooh, he was going to get the big dragon back once they got to the other end, he was going to shred her wings and make her pay, chomp on every single one of her poxy human “guests” to her poxy “party”…

The desert chaser couldn’t claim that he hated every single minute of being carried along underneath Suraya as they flew across the desert towards Shayenne- especially in the evening, when the sun was going down and everything was subtle shades of red and pink. But he didn’t let on when they landed, going back to his normal grumbling, clutching at the sand beneath his paws and crouching with his belly against the ground.
“That was horrific,” he said, fur still sticking up in fright. His claws were out too, and no doubt filling up with sand even standing still. Suraya just smiled in amusement, flopping on to her side and swiping her tail through the thin sand.

“We’ll camp here f’tonight, then we’ll all be off t’morrah!” she declared jovially.

It wasn't long after the Sunblaze landed that she arrived on shaky legs from running all afternoon. "Hellfire and swamp rats!" she swore to herself. "Next time I'll face flying, running for that long is murder of the most heinous sort!" She ambled over to Syn and lay stretched out like a cat beside him, but tried not to look like she was going to pass out. "Next time you can run and I'll flail about madly like a headless chicken." She dared risk inching closer to Syn and rested her head on the ground.

"I swear she's lost her marbles that dragon can fly faster than the wind!" Even a breeze didn't help, this Mist Hound was going to simply pass out from exhaustion and it didn't matter who said what. After what seemed like ages she moved her legs and sat up looking around. "How much farther do we have to go for this thing?" she asked quietly. She'd gladly risk flailing and being terrified if they had another half the distance to cover.
