I can hear the reign. (Lycanscar X Monty)

The air of this town was a salty as the ocean could be. On the town streets were thriving with life as merchants and traders occupied the streets. A small tavern with people from different parts of the world vacant around the bar for alcoholic drinks and a hardy meal. One person stood in the back waiting for someone. His short dirty blonde hair, frosty blue eyes, average built wearing a pair of blue shoulder pads, tan leather bracers, and black slack pants with a black leather belt holding it up, but was the most distinct feature that separated him from others was his left eye had a scar going across it, this man was known as Lycanshero.
A man in a grey robe with the hood over his head, so Lycanshero couldn’t see his face. “Are you Lycanshero Ameris?” said the man in a deep and gruff voice.
Lycanshero turned his head towards the man as his dragon tooth necklace dangled from his neck across his bare chest. “Maybe, who wants to know?” replied Lycanshero in a calm and smooth voice.
“I’m the one who’s giving you a task, the one you’ve been waiting for. You task is simple. I have a contact in Kalim that’ll be expecting you to arrive with the princess of Kalim.”
“And you want me to escort her to Kalim without her getting a scratch on her. I’ve heard this story over a dozen times. So what’s her name and where can I find her?”
“Her name… Um, we haven’t had much luck figuring that out, but she’s outside.”
“You don’t know her name. Oh well, it’s a better start than nothing.” remarked Lycanshero as he exited through the wooden door to the outside streets that had people walking in all sorts of direction.

The other man that wore the grey robe walked out of the tavern, Lycanshero was standing there looking at all the people from all shape, color, and sizes walk by. “Ok, where is she?” Lycanshero asked the man.
The man looked around through the crowd then he spotted her. “There she is, she’s over there. Come I’ll introduce you two.” he said as he pointed towards a girl with long curly brown hair that was walking away from the crowd.
Lycanshero and the man headed towards her. As they were going through the group of people that were in their way of getting closer to her. The man in the grey robe stepped to her and whispered into her ear. “Madam, your escort is here.”
Lycanshero finally popped out of the mass of people to see the man got to her before he did and was whispering in her ear.

The man in the grey robe sighed at Sandy. “The escort to Kalim, remember? You’re suppose to meet a contact up there, a friend of the family, ring a bell?”
Lycanshero looked at Sandy with his ice blue eyes as he shifted weight onto his right leg. His bare feet touching the soft ground with him shifting his sight towards the horizon where his eye gleamed as the sunlight touched them; it also showed more of the scar. Who is this girl? I have to say she’s quite beautiful… What am I thinking about? I’m asked to do a task and I’m thinking about that. I must be an idiot for thinking that. Lycanshero turned his head towards the two really quick to see what he had missed.

The man slapped his forehead and wiped it across his face. “I told you the true heir should return to restore balance, please go back. Many people are dying because of the false ruler.” he whispered in her ear.
Lycanshero stepped forward and bowed towards Sandy and rose back up. “I’m Lycanshero Ameris and you are?” Lycanshero said in a respectful and charming voice.
The man soon stepped back and said. “This is your escort, please go back.” After he finished he soon stepped back into the crowd and disappeared without a trace.
“Is there anything interesting I should know about before I escort you to Kalim?” Lycanshero asked as he shifted more towards her. His necklace swung back and forth across his chest.

Lycanshero looked over to where the man once stood that just vanished into the crowd; he then set his gaze upon Sandy when she introduced herself and started to walk away from him. Oh great, she’s going one of those type. Why is it the pretty one that has to be hard to get to do something deals? He thought as he walked forward towards her then passed her and he stopped right in front of her. “Come on, please make my mission easier. Let’s go to Kalim, so I can get this over with.” said Lycanshero as he stared at her with his deep frost blue eyes that showed too much kindness for his well being.

Lycanshero was surprised that she submitted easily and was wondering why she chose to cooperate instead of resisting. “Fine by me. My mission is just to get you there and meet the contact that’s all.” he replied with no intention to make her stay.
Sandy passed him and spoke of him coming or not. He didn’t say a word, but went with her to complete his mission. Who is this girl, Sandy? Why doesn’t she want to go back? There must be a story behind this little quest? Lycanshero thought in his mind as he watched her look up to the sky. “So, what’s the story behind this little venture I’m in?” asked Lycanshero curiously.

Lycanshero followed Sandy listening to the story of this journey. She stopped in front of him, he did the same and looked forward then he saw the horsemen with red sashes on their arms of their jackets. Lycanshero heard her say run; he turned around and replied. “Run…? Why…?”

Lycanshero quickly glanced over and saw the horsemen pick up speed and arrows flying in the sky. Heh, they think they can hit me… His thought was interrupted as Sandy pulled his arm to run with her as the arrows came close of hitting him. “What are you doing? Let go!” Lycanshero yelled as he managed to get his arm free.

Lycanshero looked at Sandy then quickly turned around and ran towards the horsemen. Lycanshero dodged the arrows were flying at him as he ran towards them, once he got to the first line of horsemen. Lycanshero went in between two of them and jumped up to kick one as the other one he punched in the face.

Lycan quickly started fighting the others and knocking them off their horses. As the men were on the ground, Lycan started to walk away towards Sandy, but soon heard the men getting up and charged at him. Lycan rapidly turned around and crested kicked two of them as the other two lunged forward. Lycan dodged and elbowed them in the back making them fall to the ground. One came out of the shadows and struck Lycan in the back with a dagger. “AHHHH!” yelled Lycan in agony.

Lycan grabbed the guy and hit a pressure point that killed him instantly. “Ahhh!” Lycan yelled again as he pulled the dagger out of his back while taking deep breaths.

Lycan grabbed onto the wound, but felt someone touched him. He turned around and threw a punch, but stopped himself in mid-strike near her face by an inch as he realized who it was. “I’ll… I’ll be fine.” Lycan said panting from the pain.

Lycan heard her say sit down and he wondered why she asked, but his question was answered when she pulled out a cloth. Lycan did what she asked and sat down on the dirt path. “So, those men, do you know who they were?” asked Lycan with concern.

Lycanshero was in the middle of thinking about her uncle and those men. She dabbed his wound; he flinch a bit, but then went into no pain like his soul left the body just for that moment. “Hmm. So wants to get rid of you, so he can rule? Am I correct?” asked Lycan with a kind tone.

Lycan was worried for her, but couldn’t explain why. He kept running this through his head over and over trying to figure out why. This is a job, why must I worry for her. She’s not my type of person to hang around. She’s a princess and me… well; I’m just a dragonless dragon rider. He thought. After she finished bandaging him up, he got up and looked at her. “You ready to continue?” questioned Lycan.

Lycan was worried about her and her past and what he gotten himself into, but he knew he was ready for this kind of adventure for his whole life. He had so many questions for her, but was afraid to ask and how she’ll react to them. Lycanshero followed her as they head towards another port city known as Tur’Kura Port. Lycanshero looked up into the sky with his frost blue eyes then back at her; his scar hid many secret within that even made Lycan wonder.

Lycan was ready to burst to ask her some questions that might be personal and might make her mad or some other emotion. He kept up with her on the trail heading towards the port city. “We’re going to make a stop in Tur’Kura.” Lycan stated.

Lycan didn’t understand what she was thinking, but for her mind to wander a lot, it couldn’t be that good. Lycan remembered his first time coming to this port city. Where his brother would always try to pair him up with some random girl. “What good ole time those were…” he muttered quietly.

Lycan soon saw the port city of Tur’Kura, which was thriving like it was back in the past, but taxes were higher than before. The peasants were wearing more ragged clothes and shop keepers were having a hard time selling goods. Lycan looked out toward the blue sea and old memories about this place came back. The day when he met a girl that he actually liked, who never gave him her name. “I miss the past.” he whispered to himself again.

Lycanshero wasn’t paying any attention to his surroundings as he was daydreaming about the past that he missed. In the center of the port city were a few of her father special soldiers were heading towards the two, but were pushing some of the people out of the way in order to get to them. The leader told the four to keep the guardian occupied while he goes to kill the princess. As the four soldiers had a free shot they ran at Lycanshero and attacked him. Lycan soon snapped out of it and saw their attack. He dodged it, but then was attacked by others from left to right, back to front. “This is new.” said Lycan.

The leader quickly attempts to grab a hold on Sandy.

Lycan still fighting the four and keeps managing to evade their attacks. He knocks two off them out before he gets hit in the back. “DAH!” yelled Lycan wincing in pain.
