| "Wow, seriously can't do this," Selene burst out, trying to no avail to get a small fire going. When her friend had told her that it was a ridiculous idea to be on the road and live on the wild side, Selene had waved the comments away, sure that she would somehow manage just fine on her own. How can it be that she never noticed that some things in life were actually so much harder than she had ever thought? How was it possible that she managed to get fire going at home at her parents' place but now she couldn't get a tiny bit of smoke?
Frustrated, she threw away the wooden stick she was trying to get to start up at least a tiny flame, without luck. Though she was very unwilling to admit that maybe her friend had been right, there was a slight chance that it actually had been a very bad idea. But she had to get out of civilisation, out of the way of people that seemed to dislike her and make her life a living hell. At least that was how she saw things at the moment. Not to mention the fact that she didn't have a real home anyway, seeing that her home village had burnt down, her family was dead, except for her older brother, which didn't make the loss any easier since he was nowhere around. After he had left a couple of years ago to explore the world, he had never been back and Selene couldn't even be sure that he was ever going to come back. She knew deep in her heart that he was still alive but she couldn't be sure that she would ever see him again, something she was not forgiving him for. He had been the one person to keep her sane.
Sighing, she got up from the forest floor where she had been kneeling and looked around. The sun was hiding behind the trees and it was growing darker. There was not much time left if she wanted to decide what to do for diner. If she couldn't even get the fire going, the food possibilities were rather limited. Sighing, she slumped back down on the floor, leaning against a tree, wondering whether she even needed food? Maybe she could just quite simply go to sleep, forget about the whole thing and worry about eating tomorrow?
"Meh.... This is not how I imagined it would be..." she sighed, motivation drowning out of her like juice being squeezed out of a fruit. Leaning back her head, she closed her eyes and tried to follow her own advice, by trying to clear her mind and simply forgetting about everything.
OOC: Lasting, how dare you make fun of my charrie

| (yay selene can't do it. sry i felt the need)
Kono glided over a forest watching the sun as it started is final descent to the ground for the night. He pulled his wings in letting his body fall rapidly towards the ground, he watched the trees grow at an alarming rate but kept his wings shut until the absolute last moment he could before his weight would bring him crashing into the trees and his wings wouldn’t be able to pull him up. He snapped them open grunting a little as he felt his flight muscles strain the wind rushing up to them. As he pulled himself into a horizontal position the speed he had gained during his dive transferred into a spectacular speed making the trees shake beneath him as he sliced through the air. He enjoyed the speed, the thrill of flight. He also liked scaring squirrels. He didn’t exactly see them but he knew that they were there. They were always in forests scrabbling about at jabbering annoyingly in the trees. As he lost seed he pulled himself into a large loop flipping so he wouldn’t be flying upside down and retraced his flight for a few moments before letting the air beneath his wings slid out and brought himself to the ground with a softish thud. Though he didn’t know it he had brought himself close to Selene’s location. Close enough to be seen, well.

| As she let the last rays of the sun caress her face, dreaming away, there was suddenly a weird hissing sound that almost made Selene jump up in fright. What is that?? There was no way of determining what it was causing the noise, the forest didn't give away the source and the tree tops were barely letting through enough sun light to sunbathe on the clearing in the summer.
Wait a minute, there was something or someone there. The hissing sound was coming closer and it seemed like there was a rustling in the tree tops now as well. The leaves were swishing about and the squirrels were angrily chattering away, bickering at the fact that they were disturbed in whatever it was they were doing. A shadow was momentarily obscuring the tiny clearing where Selene was sitting, still leaning against the tree but now alert and ready to jump up and run away. The sunlight was blocked out, and another noise, this time swishing, almost like the flutter of wings was added. Just as Selene thought it couldn't get any weirder, seeing that she still did not know what the hell was out there, a growl was to be heard, rather loud as well.
Just to make sure she could have a quick get-away, Selene straightened herself up, still checking her environment, eyes trying to follow the shadow she had just seen but it was gone. But only a short time later, there was a crashing sound when suddenly a huge creature came thundering through the branches and leaves of some trees nearby. As Selene realised what it was she was observing, she was amazed. It had been a long time she had seen a dragon, the only two dragons she had ever seen actually. She was still a little suspicious as to whether they were not just a figment of her imagination, but that was a ridiculous idea, she had a vivid imagination but not THAT vivid.
The dragon was a kind of purpely colour and from what she could gather there were spikes all over its back. Maybe I shouldn't make any sudden movements. Just in case the dragon might be dangerous... Those spikes don't really look like they're only decoration. No need to tell herself that anyway, Selene was rooted to the spot and felt like she was paralysed.

| Kono looked around him looking to see weather he could spot any squirrels that would make an easy catch but instead he spotted a pale human shaped figure under the tree line. He lowered his head to look through the line of trees and sure enough a girl was standing there a rather petrified look on her face. He smirked and rolled onto his side so his spikes fell away from her and sighed. He looked at her again and chuckled, though it sounded more like a fit of even coughing. “No need to be scared little one. I don’t eat humans.” He smiled and closed both his eyes letting his wings fall loosely against his body.
His eyes flicked open and a paw flashed out as he heard the sound of a squirrel nearby. He smiled as he felt the small furry body between his claws. He dropped it in his mouth and ate it in one bite. It was a very miniscule creature, though it still amazed him how something so small could be so annoying. He looked at the human and decided to give his name, “I’m Kono. May I ask of your name?”

| Still standing as if frozen to the ground, Selene did not refrain from observing the dragon, although she felt the growing need to pick up her legs and run, to a place far far away. Maybe to where there were no dragons? But of what use would that be anyway? It's not like the dragon couldn't catch up with her within a few seconds before she could even think about which direction she wanted to go, not to mention that it had wings. The dragon could not only chase her through the forest to play with her like a cat with a mouse but it could also grab her, take her up into the air and then cruelly let her fall... and fall.... and fall.....
Nervously, she shook her head to get rid of the terrifying thought and to hopefully lose the intense feeling of being observed. The dragon sure enough had its eyes on her and was probably wondering whether she was preferable as she was or with crashed bones so the eating part might be a little more comfortable. Oh, how easy it was to be sarcastic about the existence of dragons when you were not confronted by one that was obviously able to eat you whole.
Then, the dragon rolled onto its side like a puppy, as if he wanted to play. Huh? Bewildered, Selene inclined her head and wondered what would happen next. Her posture loosened a little and she felt slightly more comfortable as her muscles released the tension a bit. The sound it made.. She couldn't decide whether it was laughing or coughing but it sure didn't sound like a warning sound that the dragon would jump at her any second now. Though the next move made her stiffen again. She heard a tiny crack of bones as the dragon's paw came flying forward and crushed a squirrel beneath it. The cute, tiny, furry animal. Gone within the blink of an eye. Yeah, right, not eating humans. Easy for you to say not to be scared, you just squashed a squirrel and devoured it whole!! But of course she didn't say that out loud, not wanting to offend the dragon. It was still bigger than her and she like to live.
Her eyebrows raised as the dragon suddenly spoke his name. Automatically and without thinking about what she was doing, Selene replied: "My name is Selene." Now would you look at that, I didn't even stutter. And once the opening words were spoken, Selene's curiosity grew anew and she wanted to know more. Carefully she edged a little closer towards the beast, because she wanted to get a closer look at the dragon in order to make sure that it was actually the creature she thought it was. "What are you?! What are you doing here in this godforsaken place?"

| Kono rolled his head to look at her directly as she answered his question, it amused him how her voice sounded so even but her body protrayed that she really didn't beleive his first statement. She still beleived he would pulverise her body and drop it in his mouth like a tasty snack. That was one of the few things he didn't like about humans, they never seemed to beleive what he said. He knew humans lied often but he saw no real point to lie about something so petty.
He watched as Selene scooted closer he moved his head closer as well placing it against the ground and looked straight in her eyes trying to show here me meant no harm, but her next questions made him laugh his coughing laugh. "What am I? Now thats an intresting question. I don't think I've heard that one very often. I am a Spine Razor dragon. As for What I am doing here in this... I wouldn't call it God forsaken. This place is full of life and a very sustaining environment. Not to mention it has lots of squirrels for me to bother, and kill. But I enjoy it here. Lots of open sky, the sound of birds singing in the morning, not to mention the odd visitor or two." he said pointedly. Obviously refering to her as the odd visitor.

| The young woman raised an eyebrow, very obviously wondering why it always came as a surprise to certain creatures that they were asked who or what they were. Why does it never occur to anyone that maybe not everyone was omniscient? Most of her life she had spent not knowing that there were such things as dragons for real. Sure, she had heard stories, but they were always presented as being staged in times and places far far away, myths or legends so to speak. How was she to know that they were part of the very reality she was living in? She hated to admit it but her knowledge about a lot of things was far too restricted and she almost felt ashamed by it..
"Spine Razor? That explains all the spikes on your back," she grinned, her sarcasm slowly finding its way back to the surface. The dragon was rather funny, she had to give him that, and he was probably right about the squirrels - this place was overflowing with hundreds of families of squirrels. His relaxed attitude were leading her to loosen up a bit herself, her muscles easing her body into a more comfortable posture, not quite as alert anymore to run away any second. She reduced the distance between the dragon and herself yet again, curiously eyeing the spikes. "How lethal are they?" she asked, pointing lightly towards them, even though she was pretty sure the dragon knew exactly what she was looking at.
"As for the odd visitor... Well, at least, then you'll have a bit of variety in your entertainment," she replied just as pointedly, fixing her gaze on a squirrel that had dared to venture into the vicinity of the dragon's claws. Why ever the squirrel was suicidal, Selene did not understand. Though the spectacle she would be witnessing very soon, she guessed, was tingling something inside her, and this made her uncomfortable again.

| Kono grinned, "why yes, It just might." He replied sarcasm thick in his voice. he watched as she slid closer. A few more steps and she would be close enough to touch his nose as he looked at her. He saw her eyes flick towards his back then when she asked the question he couldn't help but laugh. "Depends on how fast I'm going. They aren't very sharp all over. The only point where they actually sllice is at the top and the back, but if it's going fast enough even a grain of sand could be deadly." He said lightly.
he looked in the direction she was looking and spotted the small furry rodent standing on a branch almost what seemed like gaping. He growled and His paw flashed out from his side clenching the form between his claws and narrowing his eyes with satisfaction as he felt the creatures body give then dropped it down his throat and resumed looking at Selene the curiosity almost plain in his eyes as to what her reaction would be.

| She had known exactly what was coming and yet.. It strangely unsettled her insides, an emotion she had been trying to bury deep down for so long, she was not about to give in now. The image of the spine razor dragon dropping the furry animal into its mouth was repulsing and mouth-watering all at once. And then.. she couldn't hold it in any longer - not that it could have been something she was able to control anyway. The noise that errupted from her stomach might just as well have been coming from a creature five times her size; it was frighteningly loud.
Her cheeks reddened a little, as she admitted, embarrassed that she was probably a tad hungry. "It's been a while since my last decent meal," she shrugged, wanting to drop the whole matter immediately again, but food was now on her mind and there seemed to be no way to erase it or at least make the pictures of roasted rabbit or grilled fish slightly blurry in her head.
"Anyway," Selene cleared her throat, "if they're not quite sharp when you're not speeding, can you use them? Or DO you use them? And for what?" Many other questions were flying around in her head as well but she didn't want to overwhelm the dragon with her want for knowledge. Curiosity was a strange emotion and she was sure that someday she was going to pay the price for it, but she determined that it would not be today. "May I touch them?" she suddenly asked, wanting to know how they felt, since they were not sharp, she wondered how the texture would be.

| Kono blinked in suprise as a growl errupted from Selene. "A decent meal? It sounds like you havn't eaten in a lifetime." He rolled back onto his stomach making sure not to hit selene, and looked around raising his head. He could probabaly find some good meals around here that were bigger than squirrels. He knew there were some deer in the forest. They would probably make a decent meal for a human. Then there was the abundance of squrrels, but they were puny not at all a good meal. He looked back down as she started to hit him with multiple questions at once. It took him a few seconds but he did find his voice to answer the questions. "They are sharp at the top and the back, but yes I can use them, yes I DO use them, but mostely for attack or defense in a fight. I prefer to use my claws, teeth, and fire for hunting." He smirked as he saw the curiosity buzzing in her eyes. He sighed and closed his eyes. He would probably get asked tons of questions for a while, but he didn't mind that much. Selene was a good form of entertainment.
He thought about her next question for a few seconds, "Why don't you climb on. You can touch them all you want while we find you something decent to eat." he suggested He put his head on the ground so he was as flat as possible so Selene could use whereever she wanted to climb on. As long as it wasn't his face or his wings he would be okay with it.

| "You can breathe fire?!" Feeling like a little girl that had just seen Santa Claus, she was on the brink of letting herself jump up and down from excitement, wanting to see Kono use it. But she figured it was best not to behave quite so childishly and stay put, looking casual.. Or so she thought.. Her eyes were ablaze with amazement, as was her face, and she could barely hide the nervous tingle in her body that was forcing her to finally burst out the question anyway: "Could you show me please??"
Selene put a hand on her stomach and massaged a little, hoping the calming sensation of the warmth and movement would stop the noise and the nagging feeling inside, like it had so many times before already. However, another growl was produced, though this time at least a little less loud. Seeing the dragon's head movement, she wondered whether he was thinking about hunting something down for her. What? How come I assume something like that? Simply because he's watching the environment doesn't mean he's going to do my job for me. Stupid, stupid, stupid. "It's really nothing, don't worry about it Kono," she said, not wanting to further talk about it. It would be nice to have a little help but she didn't want to be dependent on others, unlike previously in her rather short and boring life so far.
As the dragon explained his idea to her, Selene's eyes widened in shock and her body went completely rigid again. "Climb on?" She had simply wanted to touch the spikes to see what it was like but this.... Admittedly, it scared her a little. "Ahm... I don't think so." Not wanting to be rude though, she quickly added: "But thanks for the offer," and smiled at Kono. "That is very kind of you!" The offer was rather tempting actually, but she wanted to stick to her principles. As wanted her stomach, it seemed, seeing that it let out yet another growl. The savoury images that had been swirrling through Selene's head before seemed to have reached the stomach and he didn't want to let them go, pushing Selene to have his way and receive something to digest. She laughed nervously and shrugged, with a slightly helpless look on her face.

| Kono glared at her letting out a soft growl but his glare lightened as a thought creeped into his head from listening to her question, "No I won't show you my fire... not until We find a meal. Your not the only one whose hungry. Maybe a deer or two would be good." He raised his head above hers imposing on her his ability to easily make her do what he wanted. He then smirked and lowered his head, "Get on!" He insisted. "Anyways I think it would be fun to take you for a flight." He added as an after thought. He himself was actually slightly hungry. Squirrels were not enough to fill the stomach of a dragon his size. They weren't even decent snacks. As if in response he could hear the ever so slight gurgle of his stomach starting up. He then smirked as he listened to her thanking him for offering, "Oh and no need to thank me. It wasn't an offer. It was an order." He smiled exposing his sharp curved teeth. | |

| Blackmail? Is he seriously trying to blackmail me? A dark shadow crept over Selene's face as quick as lightning but it was gone just as quickly again. He was probably only joking and indeed, Kono still had a smirk on his features. It was just simply not something she appreciated very much. Plus, getting something to eat really was a good idea and it got more attractive the more she thought about it. "Right, ok, let's go find some food." She was still not sure whether she really wanted to get onto the dragon's back but maybe seeing the world from above for a while would be a nice experience for a change. Though she was wondering how she would be able to sit somewhere without cutting herself on the spikes. It would be a bit of a challenge, of that she was sure. But there was something about what the dragon had said that was annoying her a tad.
"I just don't appreciate you patronising me." It slipped out before she could stop herself, not angry, not offense, simply a statement that was as true now as it had been fifteen years ago. She bit her tongue and looked a tad shocked at her own courage, seeing that the dragon was about.. what... ten times her height? Not counting the rest of his body. But still, it had to be out, why should she stop speaking her mind simply because the dragon could erase her from this world within the blink of an eye? Defiantly, she folded her arms across her chest and looked challengingly at the dragon. Why did he have to say it was an order? Why? One of the things she disliked most. The girl sighed, unfolding her arms, shrugging. "What's the easiest way to get to the top?" It was of no use anyway to sulk, he didn't mean any harm and after all, he was going to help her find a decent meal which was much appreciated, not only by her stomach. And she actually had to grin as she heard the noise from his stomach, enforcing his previous statement of her not being the only one that needed something to eat. "By the way, how do you keep your teeth so clean?" she winked at him, relaxing again and having washed away her short moment of anger, and hoped that Kono would not take it badly that she was a bit moody from time to time.

| Kono couldn't help but laugh his coughing laugh He slid his head down next to her, "You can climb up my neck, just don't try getting on my face. Then there is a spikeless hollow where my shoulders meet my neck, that should be a decent spot for you. And you can lean against the spikes. They are rounded in the front." He explained. He grinned wide showing off his teeth, "I chew on human bones." He joked his voice thick with sarcasm. "But I DO chew on bones. They act like toothbrushes do to humans f you chew on them right." He flicked his tail so that it rested on the other side of his body away from Selene. "What do you think of Roast deer?" He asked his eyes sparkling with humor. | |

| "Haha... Funny," Selene replied, mimicing a serious face, though she couldn't pretend for much longer and started laughing, all the while imagining Kono with a piece of bone stuck out of his mouth, looking like an innocent little lamb. Though she was wondering how the heck she did get that image into her mind, she focused on the task at hand. Now this should be interesting, trying to mount a dragon. Please, don't let me embarrass myself... Surprisingly, it all went well, except for the awkward sliding about to find a decent place to sit.
Secure footing was easily found on the dragon's skin - can you say skin? - as it was not some squishy surface that buldged and moved away under one's feet as soon as one tried to touch it. It took some getting used to sitting on the dragon's neck as she was, at first, gliding a bit, unsure how exactly to sit so she wouldn't fall off as soon as the dragon started to move. Tentatively, she was leaning back against the first spike in the row and surprisingly, it actually almost felt like sitting in a couch. "Hey, this is really comfortable!" she exclaimed, leaning back completely now to get as much grip and hold as possible, there was not much else left to do anyway except for hoping that this was how you're supposed to do it. "I'm ready, I think." The young woman had thought the scales might be cold but they were nice and warm, heated from the dragon's body underneath. Feeling around a bit, she noticed the smooth transition from scale to scale as if they were all one single piece and not little plates put together. At least that was how she had imagined it, that somehow one would feel the rims of the scales, but then again, that was not the case when touching a fish, why would it be like that with a dragon?
Selene shook her head, awaking herself from her thoughts, wondering what was coming next and where they were going. It was not like she could give the dragon directions, she didn't know where anything was and from the sky she would quite certainly not be able to see deer underneath them. "Roasted deer sounds good! If you can get a fire going, that is..." Then there was an awkward little pause when she realised what she had just said. She cleared her throat, embarrassed. "Of course you can... you're a dragon who can breathe fire." She grinned at her own forgetfulness. Hopefully, some meat in her stomach would bring back parts of her brain as well.

| Kono laughed, "Thank you. I havn'e ever been called comfortable before, but I've never had a human on my back before either." he watched her settle herself down. "If you get scared you can hold onto the little spike in front of you. Just be careful of the tip. We wouldn't want you hurting yourself." He looked about at the trees caculating how hard he needed to push himself before he could get above the trees, "Man I should have paid more attention, to where I landed. Oh well." He mumbled under his breath.
Kono lifted his head and stood up, "Hold on tight. The first few seconds are a ride." He warned then unfurled his wings slightly. The muscles in his legs, bunched up under him and he pushed off the ground as hard as possible vaulting himself into the air. He then snapped his wings open as wide as the would go, throtling them downward, he slowely pushed himself higher, straining his flight muscles as hard as he could, Selenes extra weight wasn't a problem, he almost didn't feel her, it was getting out of trees. The wind is usually dull there. But he quickly got above the tree line and he felt the wind leap up under his wings. He pushed down hard one last time and he beggan soaring high into the air. To him it felt like minutes but in reality it had only been maybe twenty seconds. He lifted himself high into the air to his usual coasting height, far above the ground. "So what do you think of flight, Selene?" He asked turning his head slightly, until he could see her out of the corner of his eye.

| "So this is going to be a premiere for both of us then, huh.." Selene wasn't quite sure if she should be honored or scared by the fact that Kono had never had a human on his back before. It was cool to know that she was the first to ride this dragon but then again... did he know how to fly without losing the rider off his back?! She was not too keen on falling down from endless heights just because the dragon took a turn slightly more daring than he would have been supposed to with someone on his back. The young woman let out a almost noiseless sigh and gave herself over to her fate. If this was how it was supposed to be, then so be it and she decided to enjoy the flight.
The first few seconds, which seemed like a lifetime, were indeed a ride, unlike anything Selene had ever experienced. When the dragon pushed himself off the forest floor, she almost felt like the air was being knocked out of her lungs and she was gasping. The trees seemed suddenly much closer than before and she was afraid the branches would hit her and send her flying off the dragon's back, but nothing along those lines happened. Higher and higher, the dragon moved and suddenly, the treeline lifted and all she could see was the mountain line at the horizon, the sky, the tops of the trees from above... In one word: freedom.
The view was breathtakingly beautiful and she couldn't help but let out a shout of joy. Now that Kono was not ascending anymore but stabilised in the air, she relaxed her muscles and enjoyed the feeling of complete liberty. "What do I think? Well I think it's safe to say that so far I absolutely love it!" Her eyes were ablaze with delight and she beamed like a little girl before a huge pile of presents under a Christmas tree. "A little windy maybe but nothing I couldn't get used to," she laughed, winking at Kono. This actually feels fantastic, if only I dared, I'd open my arms wide as if they were wings and fly myself.. Selene, still leaning back in a kind of couch position, closed her eyes and let the wind soar through her hair, let trouble and thoughts drift away with it.
"This is a rather quick way of travelling.. Have you ever tried how far on Dragon's Cove you can get within one day? On foot it seems ridiculously slow to get to one place to another, but flying distance is probably a piece of cake in comparison." It was actually one thing that was annoying Selene sometimes, the fact that it took ages to get some place. She couldn't afford buying a horse for quicker movement and she was not about to start stealing horses, that would be pushing it too far with regards to her principles. It's one thing to steal food in order to survive, but a means of transport? No. A definitive no. It's not like she didn't like to move around a lot, on the contrary she did. It felt good to be out, even in the rain and it kept her fit, which was a plus when considering that she might have to dash really quickly when getting into danger. "By the way...... those brown things that keep popping up on the forest floor... are those deer?" Her stomach was waking up again after the momentary silence of the take-off.

| Kono smiled, "Thats good..." He smiled He pushed down, his flight muscles relaxed slightly under his skin and he started to notice Selene a little more. It was kind of weird feeling her legs hanging around the base of his neck where it met his shoulders. The strange change in weight, which didn't disrupt his flight paterns at all, it just felt different. He checked her position then leaned ever so slightly so that his left wing sat lower than his right and he beggan turning. He looked down at the ground as she mentioned the brown things in the forest floor. "Yeah those are deer..." He felt his stomach churn but ignored it, "Do you wanna feel what it's like to go fast in the air?" He asked straightening himself out and flapped once to steady himself. "Like I was before I landed and saw you." he explained. | |

| When the dragon inclined slightly tipped and changed his position in the air, Selene could inspect a little cleared how different the world looked from so high up. Even the biggest trees looked small from up here. Not to mention anything in the likes of a deer, they were not much more than a dot on the landscape. "Good thing is that you can neither hear nor see the squirrels from up here," Selene joked.
The movement of Kono's muscles underneath her was not a completely new feeling, even though she had never mounted a dragon before. It was a bit like riding a horse, feeling the movement, the heat, the power the animal underneath the rider was hiding underneath the surface, the strength for speed, it was a fantastic sensation, in Selene's opinion. That was also the reason why Selene did not hesitate a second when Kono asked her if she agreed to go a little faster.
"Oh yes!! I would love to go faster," she beamed, looking forward to this new development. Waves of excitement and nervous tingling was already running through her body when she only thought about the oncoming rush. The noises she had heard previous to the dragon's landing in the forest might have had a frightening undertone at the time, but now that she knew what they had been, it was completely different. Now, Selene could practically picture the dragon soaring through the sky, purposefully rustling the leaves in the trees for pleasure. She sighed, her mind and senses eager to discover the ultimate freedom of flying.

| Kono laughed, "This is very true, the only problem is I know they are still there." He watched the landscape pass beneath him mapping out the positions of the deer and what direction would be the best to chase them in so that he could hunt them without worrying about the trees. There was a wide clearing ahead of the deer which they most likely grazed in on calm days, that would be a good position to go for the kill. It wouldn't be hard to chase them in that direction either. Deer were easily frightened and didn't think about the direction they were running. Just ran.
Kono smiled at Selenes answer and pushed hard with his wings speeding up just slightly before he decided to do something else, "Hold on tight." He warned then pushed quickly with his wings then pulled up doing the loop he had done earlier, the G forces against his body would keep Selene on him, he knew that. He then folded his wings and went into a dive. though it wasn't straight down like his earlier one had been, this was so Selene wouldn't get hurt or thrown off.
He snapped his wings open at the last possible second and pulled his fllight muscles tight as the air rushed up under them filling them up like sails. He used that speed to slice through the air above the trees making them rustle and wave. He watched the ground until he spotted the heard ahead of him still unaware of his pressence. He dipped his wings and circled back a few paces getting ready to start the chase.

| As soon as the dragon warned her, Selene grasped the little spike in front of her as if she wanted to hold on for dear life, not knowing how strong the force of the wind would be once Kono were speeding up. It turned out that it was quite a gush of air, pushing her backwards against the spike she had been using as a cushion so far. A rollercoaster ride could not have been more nerve-tingling. Now that the dragon's body and muscles were stiffened in an effort to lift himself higher into the air and fly faster than he had sofar been doing, Selene felt the movements less detailed than before, but she was nevertheless still amazed by the steely condition of the muscles in Kono's neck. For a tiny moment, she imagined the evil power that could emanate from such strength, but that thought quickly dissolved again as Selene had already decided that this was not an evil dragon.
If she had to explain to somebody how she felt or what she experienced during the next few seconds of flight, it would be very difficult. Various emotions were floating through her body, her stomach wanting to turn upside down with the unfamiliar motion of flying upside down in a loop, her heart wanting to jump out of the ribcage from excitement at this new sensation of speed and joy of the dive down. The sudden end that was put to this downward movement as Kono spread his wings, the wind catching in them and producing the sensation of being thrown upwards again a little. Selene's stomach somehow seemed to settle in its usual spot again, sending a short wave of relief through her body.
Her knuckles had turned white with the strain of holding on so tightly, so Selene relaxed her fingers a little, by now knowing that she was not going to fall off that easily, despite the dragon's seemingly dangerous moves. As a matter of fact, they were not. It was all very well calculated as Selene was either sitting upright and thus couldn't fall off - unless she was behaving really stupidly - or gravity was keeping her where she was. Fact was that she actually started to feel pretty safe up here in the clouds. "Now that was quite something! Don't think my stomach would have been as well behaved had we eaten before this though." She had to laugh at this idea herself, throwing up somewhere in the sky. How would that look like from the face of the earth?! If it was visible, that is.
Next moment, she instinctively duck down, sure that the branches were going to slam into her face and knock her off the dragon's back otherwise, but nothing in the likes happened. Kono was briskly slicing through the trees, definitely having a plan of action as he positioned himself perfectly behind the deer to go down on them. A grin spread across Selene's face as she realised this intention, and her stomach was being noisy again, now that food seemed to have moved a lot closer within its reach. Not wanting to speak because maybe the deer would hear her and disrupt Kono's plan, she simply laid her legs closer around the dragon's neck and clasped the spike in front of her tighter again, excitedly waiting for the chase to begin.

| Kono grunted at the thought of throwup on his back, "That wouldn't have been fun for either of us. Nor smelt any good." He stuck out his tounge for a breif second. He then flapped once silently and slowed down even more until he was basically hovering in the air flapping his wings silently.
Kono screeched rather loudly hitting the tops of the trees just behind the heard with his claws, sending the deer running at full speed toward the clearing. He chased them beating his wings to keep up, going form an almost stand still to speed took a lot of flapping. knocking trees with his feet to keep them running. Once they got close to the clearing he screamed behind them again and veered off to the side following the line of trees until the deer were well within the clearing, which was when he beggan circling the heard like a hawk huddling them together. He counted the number of deer a few seemed to have actually been smart enough to run the other way, or just lucky.
He Swooped down plucking one of the older ones from the heard with his claws. At this time he was more focused on hunting than what selene thought of his hunting techneques so he threw the deer a little ways away from the heard still alive then landing on it letting out a stream of flames form his mouth quickly and painlessly killing the deer. He quickly lifted himself and took two more deer from the heard, killing them, then scorching them. Once he had finished hunting he screamed, sending the deer bolting into the forest. He landed and lowered his head to let Selene slide off, "Time to eat..." HE looked at the darkening sky, "Should we make a fire first? It getting dark out." He settled down to the ground then turned his head to look at her questioningly.

| The excitement was ebbing away a bit as the dragon started hunting for the deer. The rollercoaster ride from above the tree tops was continuing down below now as Kono was rushing through the trees, forcing the herd exactly where he wanted to have it to easily pick out the dinner-suitable animals. Wind was whipping through Selene's hear and the occasional leaves and branches hit her in the face, which was unavoidable within the small space between the trees. Now that Kono was focused on the chase, there was no time left to consider how Selene was feeling on his back, which she knew but nevertheless, she was feeling a little uncomfortable about being thrown about quite a bit. She wasn't used to any of this and slowly her stomach was protesting again. Her legs were pressed tightly around the dragon's body and her hands were gripping the spike in front of her so hard that her knuckles were white and her arms were starting to feel like they were going to fall off soon.
Nevertheless, there was a special feel to this whole thing. It was exciting, despite the strain but it was also a kind of phenomenon. Seeing a dragon hunt, actually being a part of it, was something she had never thought she would do. The only thing that was shocking her though was the killing. Of course, they could not eat the deer alive and she had killed small animals herself, but she killed them before they were grilled, and somehow, the fact that Kono was scorching them while they were still alive.... Though it was clear that it was a quick and rather painful death, except for the panic the deer were experiencing - animals that were easily panicking because of everything anyway - made her uncomfortable. It scared her that a friendly creature like Kono could cause such an amount of devastation and death with a short fiery breath.
When the dragon landed and stated that it was time to eat, Selene felt like she was frozen on the spot. Every muscle in her body was stiff and she was still gripping the spike like she was afraid to fall off when they were not even flying. Images of the leftovers of a burning village were flashing through her mind and she was having a hard time snapping back into reality. Fear was a powerful emotion, whether one was experiencing it for oneself, for somebody else or for any other reason and it was fear that had Selene in its grip now. Only slowly, she realised that the dragon was in a probably uncomfortable position so she could easily slide off his back, which she finally managed, even though she was more tumbling off than climbing down.
Finally, she managed a whispered "Th-Thank you", straightened her back and let her glance slide over the bodies of the deer. Regaining her composition, she looked at Kono, grinning. "I sure hope you're hungry, because I am so not going to eat all of that!" She winked at him, then looked around, inspecting their environment. "This is a quite nice place for a meal and a rest." Selene moved over towards the deer and wondered which part would be the best to it. Since she was not going to manage to eat a lot, she wanted to choose the best part. Looking back at Kono, she asked whether he knew which was the best part in a deer to enjoy. The small knife she had on her belt would hopefully be enough to cut off one or two pieces. "There are no wolves or other animals here that could come steal the food, right?" Suddenly, she felt very protective of their food, after having waited for so long for a decent meal, she was not willing to share it with an unwanted visitor....

| Kono watched as Selene slid off his back stiffly, or rather tumbled off his back. He smiled then chuckled at her comment. "Don't worry. I will be eating at least two of them." He settled into a more comfortable position and carefully moved two deer away from the pile with his claws. "Yes this area is nice I guess. It is also easier to take off from. The air isn't as dead as it is in the forest." He moved the deer he had inteded for Selene so that it was laying on it's side belly exposed. He motioned toward the front half off the deer. "Usually the meat towards the front is better. BUt the stomach usually has some juicy meat as well. I don't know what you humans like most though."
He looked around at the surrounding forest as she meantioned wolves and other preaditors and couldn't help but laughng his coughing laugh, "No creature would dare steal from a dragon ... except maybe a few foolish humans, though if they escape they usually don't escape unscathed..." He shifted and lowered his head as he stood, "I'm going to get some wood." He was pretty sure humans eyesight wasn't as good at night as many other creatures. He stood lookiing to her to make sure it was okay with her if he left for a few seconds.

| "I think I will go for a leg piece. I'm sure that will be much easier to hold on to while I'm eating it, since I can't really start grabbing a hold of my food with my feet," she winked at Kono, having fully regained her composure and rather looking forward to the meal. Her stomach was letting out one loud growl after the other now but she didn't worry about it anymore. It was going to be fully satisfied in a short moment of time. While she was still wondering how she should start cutting and which part exactly, she looked back to the dragon, laughing. "No, I guess you're right. One really has to be foolish to try and steal something from a dragon, especially food from a hungry one." It was stupid, yes, but nevertheless, she was almost certain that there were enough people dimwitted enough to attempt such a thing.
Slicing the knife into the meat, she was in the middle of performing something that could only be described as a wicked kind of operation on the front leg of the deer, when the dragon told her he was going to get some wood. Noticing the unsure look he gave her, she said: "I can give you a hand if you want? But I'll be just as fine on my own, don't worry." She added a smile in his direction to convince him that they were not just idle words. "I will be occupied a while anyway with meddling with this piece of meat before I can eat something. I might probably be ready when you get back so we can actually enjoy this together." It had been a while since she had had company for a meal, thus she was looking forward to this and could wait a couple more minutes for Kono to return before she dug in. "Plus, the meat might be cold anyway once I'm done slaughtering this beast," she grinned.
As she watched the dragon move on his way to get some firewood, she was reconsidering everything that had happened in the last couple of days, but didn't come to a decent conclusion. Nothing much had happened in her life except for her wandering about aimlessly, trying to gain some peace of mind and doing her best to survive, one way or another. Mediocre jobs kept her above water but from time to time she still needed to rely on stealing to survive, something that shamed her. She didn't want to degrade herself to that level, but sadly, sometimes there was nothing else to do and she was not proud enough to not steal to get something to eat.
A shiver ran down her spine and Selene looked up, suspiciously scanning her surroundings but she couldn't detect anything out of the ordinary. Yet, she felt weirdly observed, a strong glance that was held on her as if she was being x-rayed. And it made her a little uneasy, but not enough to keep her from doing what she was doing, though she was paying more attention to the environment than to what she was doing now, slowing down her cutting on the deer.
