Tabri grinned her feral grin, flicking her wings open as the night shadows drew closer around Achos and jumping into the sky. She had hardly gotten a beat in before pain flared up one wing and she thumped to the ground again, growling angrily. That blasted shadowhunter, his arrows had made more damage than she had anticipated! She rolled her shoulder and leapt up again, taking an awkward bunny-hop through the air and clearing a short distance. It would have to do, because she wasn't going to be flying any long distance for a time. She would have had to pace herself for the warlock anyway, so this was just a forced slow-pace.

==X==

Rilos gave Ladon a light smile as he padded off on his own business through the woods, flicking his tails around his side and settling down again for the rest of the night. Hopefully they would be safe enough in the forest- apart from himself, deer seemed to be the biggest thing around.

As soon as the little group stopped, sleep tried to overcome Ceridwyn. Before, she had just been frightened, but now the danger was gone, the hour of night was starting to catch up with her. She was uncharacteristically quiet as she padded after Silver and Ladon, almost tripping into the magpie dragon as he left again. Trying to stifle her yawns, she pulled a few logs and sticks into a pile at the centre of the place they had stopped, lazily setting them on fire with a puff of smoke and laying down almost as soon as the wood had caught fire.
"Gosh... I'm so tired," she yawned, closing her eyes and letting the fire warm her scales.

Achos smiled wickedly, knowing that the arrows that injured Tabri were in the first place, his. The rest of his form quickly dissolved into shadows which blended with Tabri's, traveling as a shadow was much easier than by foot, and another advantage was, you'd never get caught. Although he knew it was unlikely, since his younger brother tended to be full of surprises and quickly makes out that's wrong in the scenery.

The Warlock frowned, his brother was getting better [I] much better[I/], even without his annoying dragon's help. That cursed dragon that saved Silver's life before he was able to get rid of him! How dare he?!

-==-

Silver sat with his back against a tree, legs stretched out in front of him, while he idly cleaned his sword. The fire reflected off the black metal's surface. The Shadowhunter sighed before Putting the sword aside, just within reach if something were to happen.

He wasn't getting much rest lately, and the sleepless nights started to catch up to him, he yawned softly, eyelids dropping, it wasn't long before he was asleep.

Despite being ground-bound, Tabri and Achos made good time as they headed towards the woods that the little group they were pursuing had taken shelter in. It took them most of the night, but by the time the sun was starting to peep over the edge of the world they were nearing the edge of the forest. It didn’t make Tabri any less jittery, the sight of the place where their prey had fled to making her feral instincts only grow.

The woods grew quiet as they reached the edge of the forest, the animals that resided in it seeming to know that evil was bordering on its edges. The lightning storm hardly paused for a moment before she was forging ahead, paying no heed to how much noise she made. They would know they were there soon enough.

==X==

Rilos stayed up most of the night as the others slept, more used to keeping midnight hours than those during the day. And he was much too pent up with anxiety about Tabri and Achos returning to sleep anyway- he reasoned that it was much better for him to be a little tired, than try and sleep and end up with nightmare after nightmare. That was never good.

The night felt longer than normal, despite the fact they had moved halfway through it- by the time dawn came, he was as jumpy as a deer. And rightly so- the forest suddenly went very quiet, then the sound of crashing came from through the trees.

As they got deeper into the forest, Achos could feel the shadows bending, trying to hide something from his eyes, yet he had a slight advantage of knowing that, because he too, used shadows.

A cruel glint entered his eyes as he realized that it must be his brother's doing. But of course! No one is able to do that but the two of them. "Be quiet now," the Warlock all but growled, as he focused on penetrating the wall of shadows.

-==-

Ladon kept walking back and forth at the edge of the forest, something felt off but he couldn't place his claws on it. He decided to take flight and see if he can figure out what's going on. He was no fan of the woods.

-

The Shadowhunter's eyes snapped open as he felt some force trying to get past his shadows. He quickly snatched his weapons before waking Ceridwyn up. The situation was bad enough, but now with Ladon being away, it seems that their luck has ran out.

At Achos’ command, a low growl rumbled from Tabri’s throat, the lightning storm unused to taking orders- especially orders given by a puny two-leg like this arrogant Warlock. Irritated, she deliberately smashed her tail into a nearby tree, breaking it in half and sending the top bit crashing down to the ground with a wrenching, creaking sound. The trying smile on her face wouldn’t come off as she looked at the man triumphantly, just asking for him to make a comment as she suddenly quietened her movements, moving stealthily forward.

==X==

Ceridwyn yawned widely as Silver woke her, blinking blearily before rubbing the end of one wing across her eyes. She was tired, and all the excitement from the day and night before had taken it out of her.
“Good morning… What’s wrong?” She turned her head to one side on seeing him, and Rilos, the big spined shadow pacing the edge of the little clearing they had been sleeping in.

She got to her feet, her wings rustling anxiously by her sides as she looked into the forest like the others, not quite knowing what she was looking for. Monsters? Or… less? She hoped it wasn’t anything as bad as the Warlock…

Achos let a deep chuckle as he broke throw the barrier his brother had set up. Did he really think that he can hide from him? Another chuckle slipped from his lips as he took a few steps forward, until he was face to face with the young Shadowhunter. "Good morning brother. You know you couldn't possibly fool me with a barrier made of shadows, this is an old trick." Golden eyes clashed with another pair of angry golden eyes, before he solidified the shadows into his trusted sword.

"Your little dragon isn't here to interfere with the fight. This time, you won't escape death!"

--==--

Silver felt the hair on his neck rise just before his brother broke through the barrier. He turned to lock furious eyes on the Warlock. He didn't detect his presence until it was too late.

He released a deep growl as he saw the wild dragoness standing beside his brother. Things were bad, real bad. He thought

As Achos suddenly appeared in the little clearing that the group had picked to sleep in, Ceridwyn shrunk back behind Silver, her wings fluttering against her sides in sudden anxiety. Rilos likewise took a step backwards, but positioned himself a little better than the antler dragon, possibly in some faint hope that he could protect her and the shadowhunter if the worst came to the worst and the lightning storm appeared again. The spined shadow gulped- things looked awful, the two humans staring daggers at each other, and that terrible dragon on the Warlock’s side too.

Tabri’s eyes glittered with excitement as the shadow barrier that had been hiding their prey was lifted, her eyes swooping back and forth across the little gathered group. She growled. Where was the little black and white one, the one who had slipped through her grasp last time? This was not part of her plans, and it wasn’t something she had agreed to.
“Where is little black and white scrap?” she hissed, her head weaving back and forth like a snake as she glowered at Silver.

Achos glanced at Tabri, "He should be here soon, if he sensed that his rider is in danger." Which won't be long. He chuckled to himself. A deep growl sounded from above them, before he could look up, there was a loud crash to his left, when he turned, his eyebrows rose at the sight. Isn't that pleasant?

-==-

Silver quickly took advantage of the distraction Ladon created, and released three arrows towards his brother. He then looked quickly back to the dragons beside him, Keep away from them! He instructed, before turning back to the grinning warlock.

-

Ladon let out another deep growl, he stalked towards Tabri, before jumping in the air, claws extended.

Tabri's head whipped around at the crash of foliage outside the little clearing they were in, her purple eyes narrowing to slits at the sound. So, the little magpie dragon-come-breakfast had decided he was going to drop in now, did he? Good, she was hungry. Well, not really hungry in the hunger sense, more of the I-want-to-kill-something sense, but it was basically the same thing, right? She crawled away from Achos' side, not caring for the warlock's help. She, need help? Ha, the very thought needed scorning for a month!

A low growl rumbled from her throat as Ladon prowled towards her, the dragon a fair bit smaller than Tabri, but probably a lot more focused in the long run. If he was careful, he might make it through in one piece- if not, well, she wouldn't be the one crying. She hissed as he leapt towards her, scuttling backwards and sidewards before jabbing out with her wide mouth to try and get him round the middle with her jaws.

==X==

Rilos was not one for fighting, not one at all, and he quickly took Silver's advice as he told him and Ceridwyn to stay back, edging away from the Warlock and his "pet" dragon. Hopefully Silver and Ladon could handle the pair... hopefully.

Ladon quickly changed direction, barely managing to get away from Tabri's jaws, He slashed with his claws. If he could only manage to hit one of her eyes, this would be far too easy, and then he would be able to help Silver get rid of his annoying older brother. With that in mind, he quickly started to think of multiple strategies of the scenarios playing in his mind.

--

When Tabri stalked towards Ladon, the warlock hissed, "You fool! You will ruin everything!". He glared at the lightning storm, he should've known better than to take some idiot dragon with only food on it's mind in battle with him. But then he remembered something and flashed Silver a wicked smile, if things proved too difficult to handle, he would resort to his back up plan.

--

To tell the truth, Silver was a bit scared about facing his brother while his powers are almost non-existing, oh well, hand to hand combat will do. He glared at the smile his brother was giving him, time to wipe that smile off his face...

Tabri ignored Achos’ hissing words, uninterested in what the man had to say. She was in range of her prey now, and she didn’t care about some other little quarrel he had with someone else. If that got in the way, then it got in the way in the future, not in the present, this minute, now. She jumped back as Ladon slashed out at her face with his claws, roaring angrily. The little dragon thought he could attack her? What kind of fool did he think he was?

She narrowed her eyes at him, keeping her distance for a moment while she figured out the magpie dragon. Knowing what he was thinking was difficult- and she quickly decided, pointless too- she would just attack anyway, and he would eventually fall. Right? Now following this plan, she leapt forwards, flaring her wings to make herself look even bigger than she already was and chasing after him, snapping at his tail and back legs. She had magic too, but most of the time she preferred to just use brute force, especially when there were smaller dragons around. Then she could just bully them into a corner. This little one seemed to be tougher than most though. Which was nice, a bit of a challenge!

Ladon growled deep in his throat, a low rumble that vibrated in his chest before turning into a snarl. He started making his way to the left of Tabri, somehow hoping that the wildling would not notice. His plan requires her being between him and Rilos, he shall distract her from the front, while Rilos attacks from behind. He only hoped that Rilos figures out the plan, if he did not, then gods help him.

-

Silver looked sideways, just to make sure that the dragons are alright, at least for now. A low chuckle brought his glaring eyes back to his brother. He heard his brother talking to him, but his mind barely registered the words that are being to said to him, he was trying hard to find a way to at least drive that cursed brother of his away from the dragons.
He was no fool, he knew he'd never be able to win against his brother alone, so for the time being, he's going to stall until Ladon arrived at his side.

Hissing like an angry snake, Tabri followed Ladon’s progression around her with her long snaking head, her teeth bared. She was down in a low crouch, her belly tucked between her legs and tail swiping from side to side, cutting off any sort of attack that might come from behind- her tail would trip anyone who timed their jump wrong, and the spines on her back would probably deter any sort of attack from above. The little magpie dragon would be her breakfast, that was what she wanted, and by gods, that was what she was going to get, scar-striped nose and wings and all! He could try and avoid her all he liked, but it was just going to prolong her toying with him when she caught him, and that would be… well, an awful lot of fun. Apparently her toys didn’t enjoy their time with her claws as much as she did with them, though?

Rilos wasn’t a good fighter, quite the opposite, but he managed to catch Ladon’s look enough that he knew that the magpie dragon wanted him to do something- He didn’t know what, but the magpie dragon looked diminutive next to the bulk of the lightning storm. Leaving Ceridwyn at the edge of their clearing, he hesitantly padded forwards, footsteps silent as he crept up behind the other dragon. Her tail was causing a problem, swishing from side to side, but he didn’t know any better than to just attack that is it came out of the air towards him, bouncing forwards and sinking him claws into it. His front end was wrenched sideways and he yelped with fright, the lightning storm turning towards him.
“Ladon?!”
