Mira stalked forwards, not slowing her speed as she leapt over a rock cluster on the forest floor. The spirit was in completely control, and it knew everything that she did. Mira's subconsious struggled against the spirit's power, and she was amazed at how powerful this spirit actually was. It kept a tight hold on her mind, much like the spirit's in Vann's mind had over him. This would be amazingly cool had it not been for the spirit feeding off her rage at Dorloan, and oh great, the spirit had made him Mira's mark. Wonderful.

The spirit felt the barrier Dorloan had made, how weak it was, and it leapt through it, the magic shattering like glass. Mira's body lunged forwards, her sharp teeth flashing as her lips drew back. The purpose of her human form was Mira had less defense. No weapons, no claws. Just her teeth and fagile form. The spirit wanted blood to soak the earth, but not the mage's, no, the werecat's. The aim in the lung towards Dorloan was at his throat. The spirit made this obvious that the goal was to sink Mira's teeth into the mage's neck. It was an easy dodge and counter.

The minor barrier shattered in front of Dorloan’s eyes as Mira ran straight through it. She had to have known that it was there and she had to have known that it was so fragile or she wouldn’t have just run through it. He watched as she rushed at him, fangs bared, obviously aiming for his throat. This wasn’t Miramel; just from the small amount of time he had been with her he knew that she wouldn’t take this obvious of an approach. She would have made a calculated approach and surprised him. What had happened to her in the short amount of time she had been gone? No time to think now, Mira was upon him.

Dor tensed his muscles preparing for Mira to pounce on him. Her teeth were aimed straight for his neck, such an easy attack to fend off. As Mira lunged at him Dorloan charged the air around his right hand into a compacted sphere. He thrust his fist into the dead center of her stomach and exploded the sphere of compressed air, sending Mira flying airborne away from him. As she hit the ground he readied himself for another assault. “Miramel stop this nonsense right now! What are you thinking?”

Mira felt the ball push into ther stomach as she felt her body being thrown back. The ground came up hard, and she felt the explosion of pain that pulsed through her. The breath from knocked from her lungs, and she struggled to breath. The spirit had other ideas. Without the feelings that Mira felt, the spirit pushed the struggling human form to it's feet, and while it was still gasping, it lunged at Dorloan again. Without any aim, just to sink her teeth into any part of him. Anything. That was all it wanted.

Mira pushed against the spirit's control, but she couldn't manage to break free of the spell. This was infuriorating to the werecat, but she realized too late the spirit was feeding off her emotions. She back pedeled her thoughts trying to find something happt to hink about, but nothing came to mind. Where the memories blocked, or had she really never been happy? The thought disturbed her slightly. She looked out through her black eyes, and saw that they were looking into Dorloan's face with anger. She could hear his words but she couldn't reply.

Miramel was quick to get back up onto her feet even though she had been winded. Dor studied her movement carefully as she ran at him. They were sloppy and not thought out at all. The way she moved was almost as if she was possessed. Wait! Possessed! The spirit Mira had been talking about was nowhere to be found and Mira was acting deranged. Dorloan quickly looked Mira over to see if any of her physical features had to change to reflect a possession. Nothing about her muscle, bones, or limbs was contorted. She was breathing quite normally. He was out of time! Mira was upon him again, going for the same approach as last time, aiming for his neck with her fangs protruding from her lips.

Quickly, Dorloan parried Mira’s lunge. After he parried, her back should have been facing a large tree behind her. Dorloan would try to push her into the tree quickly and hold her there for a split second before he made his next move.

Mira felt her muscles bunch as Dorloan parried. Her body twisted sideways and she was quick to leap off to his left side. Her legs bunched upder her, her hands on the ground like a cat ready to spring. The spirit wasn't going to let Dorloan hold it down. Not yet. Not when it had yet to make either of these creatures bleed. Mira was held still for a second, long enough to draw lips back into a real hiss, which made Mira annoyed that the spirit made her act like a cat when she was clearly in human form. Still, the spirit had listened to her on how to avoid Dorloan pushing her, and why he shouldn't grab her like he had before. She hadn't meant to help the spirit it just sort of happened.

Mira's body stayed low, crouched and stalked Dorloan in a wide circle. Not close enough to be in arms length, and far enough away where had he go to try something, she'd be able to see it coming. Also, the spirit was well aware of Mira's memories, trying to find out if the creature would teleport again. The spirit was thinking of ways to counter while still letting blood rain. All it had to do was land one attack to enrage the male, so it's thoughts ran. Then these two could fight like cat and dog like it wanted. Make eachother bleed till one stood standing as victor, and the other died like the weak prey should.

“Damn,” Dor whispered to himself as Mira jumped out of his way onto all fours. He watched her carefully as she moved around him in a circle just out of his reach. He looked at her face and found what he had been searching for. Her eyes were solid black all the way through. Mira was possessed! Dor turned slowly in a circle as Mira walked around him, waiting for her to make her next attack. After some time of waiting Dor decided he would have to be the aggressor this time. He contemplated what he would do, thinking of all of the different angles of attack he could take. He figured he would try something other than a physical approach.

Dorloan stopped following Mira’s path and sat down cross-legged on the ground. He knew that if he remained sitting unprotected Mira would seize the opportunity and attack him if he didn’t protect himself. So Dor lifted the earth out of the ground below him and created a protective dome over himself by hardening the earth. Dor was in complete darkness inside of his rock hard shell, but he didn’t mind. He didn’t need to be able to see Mira for what he was going to do, he need only “feel” her.

Mira's body kept in a crouched position. She kept circling, waiting, watching. The spirit was getting impatient however. It wanted blood, lots and lots of blood and death. That was all it wanted, all it needed, and it wanted this creature to cause it. Or to supply it. Whichever came first. And Mira, locked inside her own body, really hoped that Dorloan came up with something, and soon. She didn't truely dislike him. He just didn't interest her, and he irked her more than anything with the way he did his own tricks. Still, she didn't want to kill him. He may look like a human, or rather more like an elf, but he wasn't either of those creatures. He was something that hadn't caused her any pain, so to speak.

The spirit was moving toward's Dorloan, and Mira watched through her own eyes, getting more and more annoyed at this whole out of body experience. So to speak. 'More like a trapped in your own body experience,' she thought bitterly. What could she do about it though. It was something she'd just have to deal with. The spirit leapt forwards as Dorloan sat down, and Mira was confused now. Then she saw him encase himself in the ground. The spirit was furrious, changing forms mid air into the wolf sized cat, after a brief second in the house cat form. Mira smirked at the spirit's lack of control on her forms. 'Stupid creature,' she thought happily. The new formed spirit snarled and tried to rip at the ground shield with her claws, while Mira waited confused, locked in her own mind.

Dorloan could hear the claws trying to rip through his earth shield, but he knew they wouldn’t do much. No ordinary claw or fang could make it through this shield; Dor had strengthened it just for that purpose. He closed his eyes and puts his hands together in front of him. Dor let his mind venture out of the earth shell slowly, creeping out to search for Mira’s. He heard whispers and caught the ends of words that touched his mind. It must have been Mira thinking in her mind. But wait, that meant that her mental barriers were down to some extent. This was perfect! His plan could go the way he had thought it out. He reached out in the direction of the voice and hoped to find it.

There she was. Mira’s spirit trapped inside of some kind of blood red cage. There was a fiery rage burning outside of the cage, consuming all of the rest of Mira except for her conscience, this must be the spirit. Dor stealthily made his way over to the cage and got Mira’s attention. “I’m going to get you out of this cage Mira. You’ll have control over your body again soon, I promise. I don’t think the spirit has noticed me here yet, but as soon as I break this cage it will know I’m here. Be ready to fight this thing.” After Dor spoke his last words he place his hands on the cage and used his spirit to weaken its integrity to the point he could smash it. He then transformed his forearm into a large hammer and made a wide swing at the weakened cage. As he swung he spoke to Mira, “Be ready for a fight.”

'Oh yeah, that's right you stupid creature, keep trying to rip through earth, it's getting you so far,' Mira sneered as she watched her claws try to rip through the soil and earth shield Dorloan had put up. As she had said, it was getting the spirit no where. 'If you break my claws, I swear to god, I'm going to kill you all over again!' she snarled. There really wasn't a reason she was talking. It wasn't like the spirit could hear her at all. The stupid creature was far too focused on trying to break through the earth. Mira had a feeling she create a mental bomb and blow herself up without the spirit even knowing. She didn't however plan on trying it. Still, talking to herself made her feel better slightly.

Of course, that was when she felt it. The intruder in her mind. 'You lazy foul dirty dead thing! You let my guard down? What the hell is wrong with you ghosts?!' Mira snarled to herself, but kept still in her own mind. The floor of the cage wasn't so bad, however it was getting out that was the problem. Alone, the spirit possessed more power than she had all together. She needed help, and then, there it was. 'Dorloan?' she asked kind of shocked. She hadn't expected him to actually try to help her. Numbly she nodded her head to his words. She sat there blinking as she watched him strike at the metal cage. The thing shattered around Mira and she leapt forwards into freedom. 'Bring it on,' she snarled, her eyes full of anger.

Like Dorloan had said, the spirit caught on, finally. Mira's body stopped moving, standing on top of Dorloan's physical earth shield. Meanwhile in Mira's head, the spirit arounded a corner of the maze of Mira's mind. The spirit was rather a shocking sight. A young girl, 18 or 19 with long flowing red hair and light brown eyes. An innocient look in her scared eyes as she turned them on the intruder and her host. 'You got out...' she said with a soft bell like voice. Mira just stared at the being, understanding now how it had been so stupid in the first place. That was when it all went to hell, literally. Mira's mind shifted as the spirit bent it to her liking. Mira snarled and cluched her head as the ground shifted into dirt and the surrounding area a ring of fire. The spirit's form shifted. The girl's hair lit, her eyes burned black, her skin turned crystal like, sharp claws replaced fingers, the white gown she'd worn turned into blood red scales. Horns grew from her head, and she snarled and foamed at the mouth. 'You can be out when I let you OUT!' she roared angrily.

Dor saw the spirit round the corner of the maze. She was beautiful. How could anything this serene harm someone? Then he saw Mira clutch her head in what must have been agony as the spirit spoke. He watched as the maze faded away and became scorched earth under their feet. A large ring of fire encircled the perimeter around the area, ending just beyond where the spirit was, and then it happened. The spirit started to change and disfigure changing into its true form. Dor changed his mind, this beast was hideous. He looked over at Mira and spoke to her in a louder than usual tone. “Get a hold of yourself Mira. We have to fight together to get this thing out of your head, and we have to do it now before it does any damage.” He quickly glanced over at the spirit; it had finished its transformation and now shouted at Mira. “I’m going now Mira, if we don’t make a move she will.” With that Dor took off in a sprint towards the spirit, not waiting on Mira.

The ground rushed by in his peripheral vision as Dor charged at the spirit. He had no idea what this things attack patterns would be, how it would defend, its movement range, its reach. He didn’t like going into fights like this without having some sort of tactics planned out. But he had no choice. This spirit was damaging Mira’s mind and it had to be stopped, else Mira might be damaged permanently. His arms both shifted into long sharp blades as he ran. He kept his arms behind him as he ran. Once he was upon the spirit he would shuffle to its left side and make two swipes at it, one aimed at the crease behind its knee to try and make it stumble, the other aimed for its shoulder.

Mira felt like her own head was on fire as the spirit finished changing the area they were in. She heard what Dor said and bit back a sharp reproach. He was right, this wasn't something that she could let control her, nor was it stronger than her. So, mira tried something she'd never tried before. Normally her mind remained her true form. The house cat sized cat. However, the spirit had locked her away as a human. Once the cage had been broken, Mira hadn't reverted back to the house cat, so she assumed that it was possible to shift forms in defense of her own conciousness. If that was the case, what else could she do?

Mira watched Dorloan charge for a moment before making a decision about what she herself would do. She hadn't tried many of the things she'd seen her mom do when she was kitten. All because she herself wasn't sure if she could do it. Still, now was a better time to try than any. Mira leapt into the air, focusing hard on her own powers, and doing her best to believe she could actually do this. She didn't come down. Mira had shifted forms while she jumped. Her body turning into her wolf sized cat form. From her back large bat wings opened up and flapped down to keep her air born. He claws were sharper and longer, and her tail curled up like a scoprion, equipt with the stinger of one too. Mira smirked, with glowing fire red eyes.

The spirit was too focused on Dorloan to realize what Mira was doing, which was pretty obvious seeing as it had a hard time doing more than one thing anyways. It waited for him to come, long spine wings growing from its back and striking out at him, to block the swipe at it's shoulder. Dorloan successfully did manage to make the creature stumble however, and that was when Mira took her chance and shot from her paws a ball of water encased in ice. That wasn't something her mom had been able to do, but hey, she'd been different than all her siblings anyways, maybe this was why. She had water control, not fire. The spirit screamed in aggitation as her hair went out and looked angrily up at Mira, ignoring Dorloan now.

The spirit stumbled as it felt a blade cut into the back of its knee. Dorloan was about to seize the opportunity and damage the spirit more but it recovered too quickly. Dor felt a cool splash of water hit his hair as there was an audible hissing from above. He glanced up to see that the fire in the spirits hair had been put out and it was looking up at something. This must have been Mira’s doing. So she had listened to him. Dor took the opportunity he had and went at the spirit again. From his crouched position he would be able to do a lot of damage.

Dor sprung up aiming at the spirits exposed under jaw. “Bitch I’m your opponent not her.” His arms both transformed into hooked scythe-like weapons and he hit his mark. As he flew up the length of her torso he turned his body sideways one of the scythes connecting with the middle of her flesh, the other finding its mark dead center in the soft tissue under her chin. Dor did a sort of somersault in the air, carrying the spirit with him. His feet connected with solid ground and Dor strengthened the muscles in his arms. He hurled the spirit over his head in a large arch and retracted the hooks from the spirits flesh at just the right angle to send it flying forward several yards. It hit the scorched earth with a loud thud and an audible cracking sound. A dust cloud rose up around the monster so Dor waited to see what had become of it. “Teach you to take your eyes off your opponent, dumbass."

Mira was laughing at the fact that spirit's hair went out. Not at all what she meant to do, but it looked funny with no hair. Little bits of smoke rising from it's head. She'd done one thing she had meant to however, the spirit been distracted. 'Stupid creature, she giggled as she watched Dorloan. She was more than a little annoyed that such a stupid creature had managed to cage her. She'd get to that latter though. For now she waited as well to see what Dorloan's attack had managed to do.

To her surprise the spirit stood up, pulling its self off the ground. Her eyes widdened in surprise. This thing had endurance, she'd give it that. Focusing on the creature ice shard shot from Mira's wings as she flapped them towards the creature and they pierced through the creature's skin where ever they managed to hit, some shot away by the creature's wings. It roared angrily and Mira smirked. 'Looked like it's still fighting,' she commented to Dorloan. Mira shot forwards on her wings, her eyes on the spirit. 'Distract it!' she called to Dorloan. She had a plan.

Distract it eh? He had the perfect distraction. He ran at the creature in a full sprint, pumping magic into his run to make sure he would get to the spirit before Mira. He used the ice shards of Mira’s that had fallen to the ground to create a slick patch on the ground beneath the spirit. She was looking up at Mira again as Dor made his move.

“What did I just tell you, idiot?” Dor slid onto his stomach facing away from the spirit. It looked down at him just as he did and he felt its claws slice into his shoulder blade. He winced but didn’t falter. As he slid on the ice he reached out with his arms and grabbed onto the creatures ankles, pulling hard enough that it would fall down then letting go to keep sliding.

The spirits leg flew right around from under it as it slipped on the ice patch while Dor pulled its ankles. Its head hit the ice, shattering it and getting sharp pieces of ice scattered in its face. “Now, Mira!”

Mira's wings folded as she let her body dive towards the spirit. She watched the spirit below her, watched Dorloan's move, and made her own. The spirit shattered the ice, making it capible of pushing it's self up onto it's hands in a sort of push up possition. It looked back at Dorloan till Mira snarled sharply and it looked up at her. A blast of fire shot from it's mouth, and Mira's wings change mid flap into that of a gargolye's the stone cutting through the fire and letting her pass through without a burn on her. Though her fur was slightly singed.

Back to bat wings they flared open and Mira's tail shot forwards impaling throug hthe creature's head, skull, what it had of anything else in there, and out through the hole Dorloan had caused throug hit's chin. From there her tail went back in through the creature's mouth and then straight through it's throat. before she retracted her scorpion like tail and dropped to the ground, wings vanishing as she willed them away. Her eyes narrowed to see if the creature was felled or not, and her claws scrapping into the dirt on the ground. 'Did that do it?' she asked in a snarl instead of her purring voice.

“I’m impressed Mira, good show.” Dorloan got up and walked over to the spirits motionless body, wincing at his shoulder as he pushed himself up. “Well if it isn’t dead yet,” Dor hardened his hand and smashed it into the creatures chest, pulling its heart out, “it sure as hell,” he curled his scythe arm around the back of its neck and pulled hard, its head coming clean off, “is now.” The maze that was Mira’s mind rematerialized around them. “I’ll get out of your head now.” Dor retracted his spirit without even waiting for Mira to speak.

Once back in his own body Dor released the earth shield around him and stood up, immediately getting woozy and almost falling over. He leaned onto a tree and looked at the were-cat. “That was some fight. I’m exhausted.” As he leaned on the tree he winced in pain at his shoulder. The spirits attack had hurt his physical body as well as mental. What a pain in the ass. He knew he needed to rest now, but where?

Mira smiled at his praise, letting her claws retract and her tail return to normal. Or rather, the not so normal normal she was used too. Being a werecat and all. She didn't say she had no idea how she'd done that, nor if she even could do it, which she really hoped she could. She just giggled as Dorloan answered her second question in a way that amused her more than anything. She rather did like the destruction of beings more than she probably should. Even, dare she think it, carmal lattes. That stuff those humans drank. Now that was good stuff.

As the maze returned and the spirit vanished Mira sighed happily. 'Home again,' she said pleased. That was when Dorloan retreated form her mind before she could say anything. Now she felt bad. He had helped her and she'd been rude to him the entire time. Granted she was rude to everyone that didn't interest her, and pissed her off, but he had helped her out. She snarled at herself in her head. Time for an apology. Mira blinked jumping off the earth shield before it went down. She switches forms to her human form and sighs. "I agree," she said looking down for a moment. "Thank you Dorloan," she said looking back up at him. "And I'm sorry for earlier."

“Don’t worry about it Mira. It’s not like I expected you to be all friendly to somebody you never met and knew nothing about.” Dorloan looked over at Mira, making sure she was legitimately sorry. From what he could tell from her facial expression she was. He began to walk towards the clearing. “We both definitely need rest, but I don’t know where we could go. My cabin is a long way from here and it would only drain us more to walk so far.” All of a sudden Dor lost all feeling in his legs and fell to the ground, panting as he barely caught himself with his arms. The fight had drained him a lot more than he thought it did. This was unnatural for him to be drained so much. He was worried. All he could do was lay there and wait.

Mira kept her eyes on the mage as he spoke. Yet he forgave her, which was much to her surprise. She watched him to see if what he said was true, and he didn't show any form of false tone. He did actually forgive her. As for rest, she was tired, but he had a point. Where should they go. They couldn't be out in the open like this. She'd learned that from experience, and the last place she'd stayed from leagues back away from this town. She followed Dorloan thinking to herself, and she nearly hadn't noticed he dropped to the ground. She turned to look at him confused and knelt down besides him. "Are you alright? What's wrong?" she asked. She was probably showing the most concern she'd ever showed anyone in her life. Save Grafe.

All Dor could do was lay there face down in the dirt. His muscles were locked up and part of his back was numb. What on earth was causing this? Fights normally made him tired but not to the point that he couldn’t move at all. This was bothersome. He heard Mira’s voice from beside him and cursed under his breath. Showing weakness in front of women. What a stupid thing to do. “I don’t know. I’m usually drained from fights like that, but never this much. I can’t move a muscle. Would you please do me a favor by rolling me onto my back and placing my hands together?”

Mira was kind of shocked that she actually felt concern for this man whom she'd just met. She blinked feeling a little stupid for not turning him over in the first place. But this was strange, even for a mental fight. No one she'd ever fought with had collapsed like this before. Was it something more? Her skin crawled at the thought. She could still smell that strange scent, and it was making her nervous. What was going on? "Err... yeah, sorry," she said.

Mira carefully rolled him over onto his back and put his hands together like he'd asked. She still sat next to him and sighed. "You need anything?" she asked him. She was getting more nervous, but she wasn't sure what to do. What exactly she could do, at that. Swallowing hard she looked around for a moment. She really did feel like she was being watched, and she wasn't sure why. What exactly was this scent coming from.

Pain rushed through Dor as Mira flipped him onto his back. He had completely forgotten about the wound on his shoulder that the spirit had given him. It hurt like hell right now. After Mira put his hands together he concentrated on the point between his palms. In that tiny open space a spark went off and a tiny flame was born. Dorloan took control of the flame and made it float over a small patch of open dirt. He then set it down there, keeping it burning but not letting it catch any of the nearby forest. “Mira I think the spirit might have had poison on its claws. Please go put some kindling around that flame. After that grab the water skin from my belt on the left side and get the water boiling so we can clean the wound.”

This was strange. The smell of rotten flesh lay heavy on the air and it worried Dor, but the wound on his shoulder worried him more, it was going a bit numb. This only gave more evidence that it was poison. He was surprised that Mira had been able to roll him over; he wasn’t the smallest of beings by any means. He hoped that he wouldn’t be permanently affected by this. And he was very wary of the stench in the air; it was much, much stronger than before.

Mira purred softly as she listened to Dorloan's instructions. Jumping up she landed in her house cat form and from there squrried up the nearest tree. It was easy for her to climb, and if she'd wanted, she realized she just could have flown up it. Oh well. Getting the hight she wanted, she walked out on the brnaches and shifted form to the wolf. When the branch broke, she'd leap up to the one above her. Before long, she had enough wood that she'd need. Dropping back down to the ground as a human form, Mira pulled the branches to the fire Dorloan had produced and make a nice pit for it. She dug up the area around the pit so the fire wouldn't pread anywhere then returned to him.

She didn't need to take the water skin, she just focused and pulled the water from the skin and let it float in the air. Smiling to herself she controlled it over to the fire and shaped it like it would be in a bowl. Holding it above the fire would take too long, so carefully, she let it sit in the fire. It started to boil quicker and she brought it back over to Dorloan. "Now what do we do?" she asked nervously. The water was still hot, and it felt almost like she was holding it, but she wasn't.

The water moved out of Dor’s water skin and he was a bit taken back. He had totally forgotten the fight and that Mira had controlled water. He was actually quite impressed with her ability. “I need the water applied to the wound. I don’t know if you’ve ever dealt with something like this, so please if you are unsure then let me control the water.”

Mira shrugged and handed the water over to Dorloan. She sat back on her knees and smiled to herself. She was in a rather good mood and was currious. Despite the situation she figured Dorloan would be fine, so until he wasn't she had no need to worry. Though she questioned why she was worried in the first place. So she figured it was time to mess around a little. Yawning she shut her eyes and focused hard. She channeled her will into producing bat wings again. And mayber figuring out how the others worked. She knew the gargoyle ones were defense...

Mira smirked as the bat wings opened up on her back. "This is going to be fun," she purred. Focusing she thought about offense, and glanced back at the angle wings. She giggled and forced the gargoyle ones to appear. Then she started to try different combinations of things, looking for one that would cause the wings to shift. It took her a couple minutes till she thought of being sneaky. Owl wings opened up on her back and she laughed out loud. "This is so cool!"
